Once upon a time, an Multi National company and a Local Dealer decided to have competitive boat race on the Klang River. Both teams practiced hard and long to reach their peak performance. True Honor: I feel so honored NOT because of an award winning National Poetry Award's 2012 Christian Spoken Word Artist/ Poet of the year.but because a prisoner (incarcerated since 1998) wrote me and asked me to come recite at the facility. The school called on Monday and said he had been selected to play on the All-Star team for the Cherokee Conference. So, on Tuesday evening we went to the Oklahoma Wesleyan University gym to watch the game. Today Mrs. Shue was contacted by the Colorado Association of Middle Level Educators -CAMLE. She was told that CIMS has been selected as one of a handful of schools and named a 2012-13 "School To Watch". This is a designation given to a select number of schools each year in the state of Colorado. We have been told that CIMS is the first school in Southern Colorado to be given this honor. It is a special award focused on program excellence for schools with middle level grades. CAMLE evaluated our 5th- 8th grade program in consideration for this award. Our school will be recognized in Washington, DC this summer, school administrators will present on a special panel to Colorado Administrators at the state CASE conference, and teachers and administrators will also present at the annual CAMLE conference in November. Just got home from an incredible night! My sweetheart received the Silver Beaver Award from the Great Salt Lake Council of the Boy Scouts of America. It was awesome to see him honored for all he does for a program he loves. He was honored along with some of our scouting friends and others like Bob Evans (Fox 13 News anchor), President Wixom (General Primary President), and a really cute 95 year old man who is still involved in scouting (WOW!!).
