(Sun - subscription required) Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri, 27, has admitted he faces an uncertain future at the club. (Daily Mail) Manchester United have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin, with the Spanish champions insisting the 28-year-old is not for sale. (Daily Star) Alternatively, Atletico Madrid have told Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal that he must meet Godin's £28.5m buyout clause if he wants to land the defender in January. However, Yaya Toure is expected to feature with Pellegrini confirming the Ivorian's knock wasn't serious. While Frank Lampard struggles to overcome a thigh problem, Toure's availability is a welcome relief with the Brazilian pair of Fernando and Fernandinho set to vie for the remaining central midfield spot alongside him. Samir Nasri could be tasked with filling the creative void left by Silva, with the Frenchman having returned to action in midweek following injury. Alternatively, Pellegrini may opt to keep Dzeko alongside Aguero in attack, leaving Nasri to c ...

We met and had pictures taken with Yaya Toure, David Silva, Jesus Navas, Joe Hart, Willy Caballero, Manuel Pellegrini, James Milner, Samir Nasri, Aleksandar Kolarov, Edin Dzeko, Micah Richards & even living legend Christian Karembeu!!! Five matches that decided the 2013-14 Premier League title By John Brewin | May 15, 2014 4:10:41 AM PDT After a 2013-14 Premier League title race of twists and turns, John Brewin selects the five most decisive games of the season as Manchester City ultimately claimed glory ahead of Liverpool on the final day. Manchester City 4-1 Manchester United, Sept. 22 This was the Sunday afternoon when it became clear that the champions would not be putting up a credible defence of their title. Three minutes either side of half-time crashingly delivered that message. David Moyes' Manchester United were destroyed by a City team that looked streets ahead. In the 17th minute, Sergio Aguero converted after attempts had rained down on David De Gea's goal. United's best hope was holding on for half-time and that Moyes might perform a tactical or motivational miracle. Yaya Toure's 45th-minute strike negated that, and whatever Moyes might have said had no effect as two quick goals by Aguero and Samir Nasri followed. Thereaft ...

THIS WAS A THRILLING Premier League SEASON TO SAVOUR:In the thrilling race to be crowned champions, the Premier League's game of thrones was more like musical chairs at times. Even Manchester United, who had a season penned by Stephen King, managed two days at the summit, briefly admiring the view. Arsenal spent 128 days there, Chelsea 64, Liverpool 59 and Manchester City 15. This turnover added to the wonderful unpredictability of one of the best Premier League title campaigns since its inception in 1992. A three-horse chase is rare. Stylish City relied on the quality of Yaya Toure from midfield, the will to win of Pablo Zabaleta, and the goalscoring reliability of Edin Dzeko. David Silva and Samir Nasri graced games. Joe Hart reclaimed his top form after a period of mistakes and introspection. But most credit has to go to Manuel Pellegrini for keeping City composed and focused. Sadly for Liverpool, Steven Gerrard's slip against Chelsea, letting Demba Ba through, proved the defining moment of the 2013-2 ...

I saw how Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri & Edin Dzeko avoid themselves from the alcoholic celebration last night. Good job as a Muslim player.
Word has just gotten out that Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko credit their consumption of halal food as the reason behind Manchester City's success this season. Rumours are circling that fellow Premier League football clubs have asked their nutritionists to follow suit next season.
Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri, Edin Dzeko, Sheikh Mansour, Khaldoon Al Mubarak and Sheikh N'Buck. Islam and City live together in perfect harmony Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh Lord, why ... We all know that people are the same where ever we go.

Man City 0-0 Villa – HT: Villa stood firm after coming under intense pressure in the first half at the Etihad. There was a big scare in stoppage time as Samir Nasri steered James Milner’s cross inches wide of the near post. And Brad Guzan made important saves to deny Aleksandar Kolarov and Yaya Toure from close range. But Paul Lambert’s team battled heroically and continued to frustrate Manuel Pellegrini’s title-chasers. The visitors launched a couple of decent counter-attacks in latter stages of the half. Andreas Weimann was released by Ashley Westwood but his shot across goal was tipped behind by Joe Hart. Weimann also crossed for Jordan Bowery, who couldn’t make a clean connection with his volley.
Samir Nasri was right. If Yaya Toure wasn't black he would have won a Ballon 'Dor! What a player though...

Show me more respect, blasts Yaya Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure insists he doesn't get enough respect from the rest of the football world because he is African. Ivory Coast international Toure has won league titles in England and Spain and is on the six-man shortlist for the Professional Footballers' Association's player of the season award. But the 30-year-old former Barcelona star echoed City teammate Samir Nasri's claim that only his birthplace has blocked him from being hailed as one of the best midfielders in the world. "I think what Samir was saying was definitely true," Toure told BBC Sport. "To be honest, proper recognition has only come from the fans. I don't want to be hard and I don't want to be negative, but I want to be honest." Toure's fellow Ivory Coast star Didier Drogba and Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o have also reached the top level of European football and Toure has taken inspiration from the way they have risen to the top despite humble beginnings. "Those players are more than ...
Samir Nasri believes Yaya Toure does not receive the acclaim he deserves as one of the world’s top midfielders because he is African.

GOAL - Crystal Palace 0-2 Man City - Yaya Toure (43 mins) He's a beast of a player isn't he? Yaya Toure rampages down the Crystal Palace left, leaving red and blue shirts trailing in his wake, swaps passes with Samir Nasri, holds off Damien Delaney and curls a precise finish past Julian Speroni. Is there any way back for Palace now? City are making a supposedly tricky away trip look straightforward.
“If he wasn't African everyone will say he's the best midfielder in the world” ~ Samir Nasri on Yaya Toure
Samir Nasri: Yaya Toure would be considered as the best midfielder in the world if he wasn’t African. Nasri: Yes toure was right it's high time now to start rating him among world best midfielders because he is doing great things. Hit Maximum like for Samir Nasri
Sunderland hold City, Crystal Palace cruise Liverpool's position atop the English Premier League table was strengthened on Wednesday when title rivals Manchester City were held to a 2-2 draw at home to bottom club Sunderland. Beaten 3-2 at Liverpool on Sunday, City were bidding to close to within four points of Brendan Rodgers's side in the first of their two games in hand. Fernandinho's 2nd-minute goal at the Etihad Stadium put City on track, but after Connor Wickham scored twice in the last 17 minutes, the hosts needed a fortuitous 88th-minute equaliser from Samir Nasri just to rescue a point. The result left City six points below Liverpool in third place and although Manuel Pellegrini's side still have a game in hand, the title is inching ever closer to Anfield. City were without injured midfielder Yaya Toure, but top scorer Sergio Aguero returned to their starting line-up alongside Alvaro Negredo as Pellegrini made five changes to the team that lost at Liverpool. The hosts made an ideal start, with Ne ...

HALF-TIME: Two goals in first-half injury time have Manchester City FC 3-1 up at the break, after Rickie Lambert had pulled us level. Yaya Toure gave the lead from the spot before a Lambert penalty levelled matters. However, after Jay Rodriguez had gone off injured, Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko netted in stoppage time to put the hosts in control.

Edin Dzeko scored twice as Manchester City heaped more misery on Manchester United with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday to move to within three points of Premier League leaders Chelsea with two games in hand. Dzeko needed just 43 seconds to give City the lead in a Manchester Derby at United's Old Trafford ground. Rafael's last-ditch tackle blocked David Silva's run into the box but Samir Nasri hit the post and Dzeko followed up to sidefoot in the rebound. The Bosnian striker was on target again in the 56th minute when he dropped marker Rio Ferdinand to volley in Nasri's corner, Yaya Toure rubbed salt into United's wounds with a third goal in the 90th minute as Manuel Pellegrini's men, now second in the table, completed a derby double following a 4-1 win over United at Eastlands in September. It was yet another night to forget for United boss David Moyes, in his first season in charge of the fading English champions following the retirement of Alex Ferguson, British football's most successful manager. This result ...
Manuel Pellegrini's City underlined their status as kings of Manchester after they brushed aside David Moyes' United 3-0 with alarming ease at Old Trafford. Edin Dzeko scored after just 42 seconds to put City ahead and the big striker struck again after the break before Yaya Toure rounded off yet another miserable night for Moyes. Further questions will surely be asked about Moyes' ability to bring the glory days back to United. There was no fortune about this victory from Pellegrini's team, who are now three points off the top of the Barclays Premier League with two games in hand on Chelsea. If anything, it was a minor miracle that City did not win by four or five. David Silva, Toure, Fernandinho and Samir Nasri overran and outclassed a weak United midfield and Dzeko - a surprise starter ahead of Alvaro Negredo - did the rest up front. It seems, after all, that Pellegrini had a point when he said there has been only one club in Manchester this year. United lacked confidence, tempo and cohesion. There was ...
The first Manchester Derby of the 2013-14 season was won by City 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium. Sergio Agüero opened the scoring on the 16th minute followed by a goal from Yaya Toure just before half time. In the second half Agüero scored his second followed by a Samir Nasri goal three minutes later. Wayne Rooney scored a late free kick for United as a consolation goal. It was the first time in twenty-six years that the Derby had been contested by two new managers: Manuel Pellegrini for Manchester City and David Moyes for Manchester United.

Despair for Borini despite Wembley goal Fabio Borini scored the opening goal of the Capital One Cup final on Sunday but was left disappointed as Sunderland suffered a 3-1 defeat by Manchester City. The Italian forward needed just 10 minutes to write his name into Wembley history. Latching onto a lofted pass into the right channel, Borini forced his way beyond Vincent Kompany and, as the shooting angle narrowed, clipped an outside-of-the-foot finish around the goalkeeper and into the corner. Sunderland had enjoyed the best of the opening period, but City responded in sensational fashion in the second half with two unstoppable goals in as many minutes. Firstly, midfielder Yaya Toure dispatched a curler flying into the top corner from long range; then Samir Nasri unleashed a rocket of a half-volley which arrowed inside the post. When the Black Cats pushed forward in search of an equaliser in the closing stages, City countered and added the game-ending third through Jesus Navas from Toure's assist. Borini has ...

PREVIEW/Analysis/Discussions Man City Vs Barcelona | Etihad Stadium | 19:45hrs. Live Text Commentary to follow at 19:30hrs. Following Jose Mourihno's comments that Man City will face the worst Barca side in recent times, we take a look at the teams' chances below: Barcelona had scored 100 this season by February, the only team in Europe to have bettered that is Man City with 115 goals. Alvaro Negrodo and Sergio Aguero who will miss this game have managed 49 goals between them. Fernandinho has passed fitness test and likely to partner Yaya Toure as double pivot in a 4-2-3-1 formation that is likely to see Samir Nasri in a central role with David Silva at the left. Stevan Jotevic will likely operate in the middle of attack, Jesus Navas at the right wing and Negredo leading the attack. Barcelona is likely to deplore their favorite 4-3-3 set up for another night of passing and possession game of tiki taka. Jordi Alba will contest with Adriano at the left back position with Adriano being a favorite due to his ...
FORMATIONS AND TACTICS How City Set Up 4-2-3-1 How Barcelona Set Up 4-3-3 Manchester City have grown accustomed to flooding forward and ripping teams apart this season but they have been known to adopt a more conservative approach against the big sides. They showed a pragmatic side to their play against Chelsea on Saturday but more importantly, their performance away to Bayern Munich earlier in the season was exceptional. The Manchester club did well to beat the Bavarians 3-2 having set up with a 4-2-3-1 formation as is likely to be the case when they take on the Catalans. With Sergio Aguero injured, Alvaro Negredo may lead the line on his own while David Silva plays in the hole behind him. From there, the Spanish playmaker can pull the strings in attack while not having to track the frequent runs of Dani Alves if he were to play on the left. Instead, the industrious James Milner would be the ideal man to keep tabs on the marauding Brazilian full-back. However, his suspension means that Samir Nasri who ha ...
Vanguard FA Cup : Man City defeat Chelsea 2-0 on February 15, 2014 / in Sports 8:33 pm MANCHESTER – Stevan Jovetic and Samir Nasri scored as Manchester City reached the FA Cup quarter-finals with a potentially significant 2-0 victory over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. City manager Manuel Pellegrini had been outdone by Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho in the two league meetings between the clubs this season, both of which ended in victories for the London side. But a convincing FA Cup win redressed the balance, especially as the important second goal was scored by Nasri within moments of the fit-again Frenchman’s introduction by the City manager. Given the war of words between the rival managers in the wake of Chelsea’s 1-0 league win at the Etihad last week, it was no surprise that the game opened in cagey fashion. James Milner was charged with nullifying Chelsea’s chief playmaker Eden Hazard, with Nemanja Matic performing a similar task on City’s Yaya Toure. But the tie opened ...
FINAL WHISTLE VERDICT: THE RIGHT RESULT Jose Mourinhowas left in no doubt the best team won today… Our manager failed to blame his players for a performance that was well below the one we produced on this ground 12 days ago, with the manager citing City's freshness - they didn't have a midweek game, unlike us - as one reason for the home side's dominance. City took the lead through Stevan Jovetic, his calm finish beyond Cech coming just a minute after he had clipped the bar after our keeper had spilled a shot from Yaya Toure. We improved towards the end of the half but were unable to threaten Costel Pantilimon in the home goal despite some decent approach play. Mourinho threw on Mohamed Salahin place of Samuel Eto'oat half-time but the change did not improve our collective attacking performance and it was City who deservedly doubled their advantage through the substitute Samir Nasri. The Frenchman released David Silva, possibly offside, before running on to the return ball and finishing into an empty n ...

Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic (knee) has joined the club's injury list ahead of their midweek Premier League clash with Sunderland. The Serbian is not expected to be out long but misses Wednesday's contest at the Etihad Stadium along with striker Sergio Aguero (hamstring), playmaker Samir Nasri (knee) and midfielders Fernandinho and Javi Garcia (muscle injuries). Key midfielder Yaya Toure is available after escaping retrospective punishment following an off-the-ball incident involving Norwich's Ricky van Wolfswinkel last weekend. Wes Brown will miss out for Sunderland through suspension. The 34-year-old central defender will sit out both Wednesday's visit to Manchester and Saturday's FA Cup fifth-round tie against Southampton after being sent off for the second time this season - a further red card was later rescinded in November - in the 2-0 home defeat by Hull at the weekend. January signing Santiago Vergini is likely to deputise, while fellow defender Carlos Cuellar (hip) and striker Steven ...
Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is out for a month with a hamstring injury he sustained in the midweek win at Tottenham Hotspur. Midfielders Samir Nasri and Javi Garcia are also unavailable, with knee and muscle injuries respectively. Chelsea will monitor the fitness of winger Mohamed Salah following his move from Basel. Salah missed Wednesday's derby against West Ham along with Fernando Torres, who is sidelined with a knee injury. It could be explosive. It's bound to be fascinating. Having been frustrated by West Ham's "19th Century football", Jose Mourinho now has to come up with a plan to counter football from another planet. Well, not quite, but football being played by "the best team on the planet", according to Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood. It's a match that pitches the Premier League's most potent attack against its tightest defence, which in itself shows the massive difference a change of coach can have on the ethos of a club. Last season Roberto Mancini's City were the most miserly team arou ...
WAR AT THE ETIHAD!! Manchester City SET TO TAKE ON CHELSEA! It's definitely going to be Clash of the Titans tonight as Manuel Pellegrini's Manchester City go to WAR with Jose Mourinho's Blue Army at the Etihad Stadium in an encounter billed to be fiercely contested. A trip to the Etihad has become a daunting place to travel. Manchester City have swept all before them at the ground in the Premier League this season, winning 11 home games so far and scoring 42 goals in the process... Some people say Etihad na slaughter ground. LOL! Manchester City top scorer Sergio Aguero is out of this clash. He joins playmaker Samir Nasri and midfielder Javi Garcia who are also out due to injuries. Midfielder James Milner could be back in contention after a groin problem. Contrary to claims popping up on social media, Yaya Toure is not suspended. In fact, nobody is suspended for either team. Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah could be included in Chelsea's squad. The Egypt winger trained with his new team-mates on Friday for the fi ...

14 - Samir Nasri and Yaya Toure are the only two players to have played in all 14 of Premier League matches this seas…
A rampant Manchester City thrashed Tottenham to reassert their title credentials and move six points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal. The hosts went ahead after 14 seconds when a poor Hugo Lloris clearance led to Jesus Navas brilliantly chipping in. Alvaro Negredo's shot went in off Sandro and Aguero turned in a low cross as City went 3-0 up before the break. Aguero again slotted in before Negredo's 18-yard strike and a side-footed Navas shot completed the rout.   City have struggled on their travels this season but at home they have been an irresistible force and they were once again in sublime form at the Etihad, where they have a 100% record in the present campaign with six wins from as many games. The movement and ruthlessness of Sergio Aguero, the invention of Samir Nasri, the midfield power of Yaya Toure and pace of Navas was too much for a shell-shocked Spurs as they suffered their biggest league defeat since losing 6-1 to Chelsea in December 1997.
By Tom Maston It may not help heal the wounds of Stamford Bridge six days ago, but the way in which Manchester City dismantled Norwich was a delight to watch. Samir Nasri, Sergio Aguero and David Silva were all at their best while for Costel Pantilimon is was as easy a league debut as you would want. Questions must be asked of Chris Hughton, however, whose job at Carrow Road is coming under increasing pressure. No matter what the opposition, conceding 11 times in two trips to Manchester within five days is inexcusable. Yaya Toure, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko added goals five, six and seven after the break as the match lived up to its goal-rich reputation, with 25 having been scored in the previous four top-flight meetings between the two sides. In addition to the change in goalkeeper, Negredo replaced Javi Garcia in the only other alteration to the City side that started a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea last Sunday. Chris Hughton also made a double change to his Norwich side from last weekend’s goalless draw wi ...
Manchester City 7-0 Norwich City Manchester City produced a footballing master-class as they thrashed hapless Norwich City 7-0 at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City 7-0 Norwich City The result leaves the Canaries entrenched in the relegation zone while Manuel Pellegrini's rampant team are back in the top four. After the outstanding Samir Nasri's left-footed shot had hit the outside of John Ruddy's post, Manchester City took the lead in the 16th minute when Sergio Aguero's effort was deflected into the net by the unfortunate Bradley Johnson. Four minutes later Nasri and Aguero created the opening for David Silva to double the home team's lead and, in the 25th minute, it was 3-0 when Matija Nastasic's header was deflected past Ruddy. Pellegrini's side then scored their fourth goal in just 20 minutes when Alvaro Negredo tapped the ball home after a brilliantly incisive move. On the hour mark Yaya Toure fired a superb free-kick home as the Canaries defence was breached again and, in the 71st minute, a dreadf ...
Any minute now, Manchester City will (finally) introduce Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager, per Mark Ogden of the Telegraph. Already, though, the new man has some new toys. Fernandinho was signed last week; he joins a spectacularly loaded midfield which boasts the likes of Yaya Toure, David Silva and, yes, the resurgent Samir Nasri. And just recently, per BBC Sport, Manchester City announced the signing of Jesus Navas from Sevilla. Though Fernandinho cost City more money and is arguably the more accomplished player, Navas might actually have the greater chance to force his way into City's starting 11. Why? Because, unless you think Scott Sinclair is going to suddenly reemerge, Navas has almost no competition on City's roster to play his natural position on the right wing. Think about it. City has all those midfielders, sure, but even on the days when Nasri played well last season, he did not seriously approximate a wing player. That was due largely to former manager Roberto Mancini's dogged efforts t ...

Well had a brilliant time at the Ethiad with my girls, Gracie was brill and loved it just slightly disappointed that Joe Hart not playing she wanted five goals and got her wish . But then would you believe it all went wrong on our way out Emma collapsed doubled up with stomach pain had had to rushed into City's medic bay in the basement of the ground which was very worrying. But it then turned again for Gracie and I whilst the medical team were helping Emma we were able to peep out and guess what the players.were coming out Omg Gracie was so excited sod her mother we met Samir Nasri and shook his hand then Yaya Toure who gave her high five and shook her hand its was magic she had the biggest smile I have ever seen. There's another great chance for Manchester City to equalise! David Silva finds himself in miles of space on the right, and he bears down on David De Gea's goal, cuts inside a defender, then fires straight at the goalkeeper's head. The ball deflects onto the post and then behind -- that really could have gone anywhere. We're now into Edin Dzeko time, and the big Bosnian's being readied as City lay siege to Manchester United's goal. With only ten minutes or so left in this match, the visitors are still 2-1 up and threatening intermittently, but it's the hosts who look more likely. Although not by doing that -- Samir Nasri runs straight into Patrice Evra and falls over rather than crossing. Presumably he was looking for a penalty, but... yeah. That's better from Nasri, though -- he fires in a delivery that Tevez fires just over. The next action is Yaya Toure off, Edin Dzeko on, while Phil Jones comes on for Antonio Valencia.
Man City back on track with win Newcastle. Manchester City provisionally trimmed Manchester United’s lead at the top of the Premier League table to three points with a 3-1 win at Newcastle United on Saturday. City lost 3-2 to their cross-town rivals in a fiery Manchester Derby last weekend but the champions showed no ill-effects in the early stages at St James’ Park and took the lead in the 10th minute with a beautifully crafted goal. Stand-in captain Yaya Toure split the home defence with a delicately weighted pass down the inside-right channel and Samir Nasri showed excellent awareness to roll the ball square for Sergio Aguero to tap into an empty net. Javi Garcia claimed City’s second in the 39th minute with a header from a left-wing corner, although Newcastle full-back Davide Santon made a complete hash of his attempt to clear the ball. Newcastle hit back six minutes into the second half, Demba Ba beating City goalkeeper Joe Hart to Fabio Coloccini’s hooked cross to head home, but Toure touche ...
FOOTBALL- Newcastle 1-3 Manchester City: Yaya Toure seals victory to quell Toon fightback: Manchester City boosted their title credentials with a somewhat fortunate 3-1 victory over a struggling Newcastleside at St James’ Park. After dominating the early stages of the match, the Magpies’ defence capitulated for the rest of the first half as City’s attacking players came to life. And the visitors eventually took the lead after some clever play between Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri left Sergio Aguero with a tap-in. The champions found a second courtesy of a Javi Garcia header, but Alan Pardew’s men fought hard in the second period, and soon clawed one back through a Demba Ba header. The hosts pushed for an equaliser, but Yaya Toure sealed three points for the visitors with a goal against the run of play. Pardew was forced to change shape from the side that faced Fulham last weekend, as James Perch stepped in for the injured Hatem Ben Arfa allowing Papiss Cisse to revert to a more familiar role partner ...
Manchester City 2 Manchester United 3 23 managers get points from Carlos Tevez's assist but lose points from his booking.Barry Mccaffrey lose points from Samir Nasri's booking. Shelly Hughes, Albert Au, Phil Goodier and Chris Mowles lose points from Yaya Toure's booking. Shelly Hughes, Rob Gore and Lee Turner get 11 points from Wayne Rooney's brace and booking. 45 managers get points from Robin Van Persie's 11th goal of the season.
Wayne Rooney's two first-half goals had looked set to give United a comfortable victory before City hit back through Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta in an engrossing encounter at the Etihad Stadium. But, in stoppage time, the late free-kick from Van Persie, who had been wanted by City before he joined United in the summer, flicked off Samir Nasri in the wall and condemned the defending champions to their first home defeat in the top flight in two years. The thrilling goal, for which Nasri's defending was poor, was marred by unpleasant scenes as celebrating United centre-back Rio Ferdinand was struck by an object seemingly thrown from City fans. Greater Manchester Police also confirmed a man was arrested inside the stadium on Sunday on suspicion of committing a racially aggravated public order offence after officers heard racist chanting. On the field, a United win in part avenged their double derby losses last season and Holland international Van Persie's late strike also moved Sir Alex Ferguson's team six ...

Manchester City star Yaya Toure voted one of Premier League's best midfielders - should it be Samir Nasri?

But the dynamic in the dugout is likely to be just as compelling.
Oh lala! ""Manchester City's Carloz Tevez who doesn't know English, prepares answers in advance for interviews after a match. *one postmatch interview * Reporter: Tevez, it's fantastic, your wife is pregnant, good news. Tevez: Ya, all credit goes to my team. Everyone worked hard for it, specially Samir Nasri . It was a tight situation when he came in, his performance was really fantastic with Yaya Toure in the middle. Also the crowd gathered to watch his work, our coach also enjoyed it, they all worked hard, day & night... Special thanks for James Milner for finding space from impossibly tight angles. It wouldn't be possible without him. I'm sure the fans would be delighted to watch us do, without their support we couldn't have managed it!""
Tevez has been a scourge of them since his Manchester United days. An irrepressible bundle of energy, he can be too short, sharp and skilful for John Terry's liking. Five months after his mutiny in Munich, he came in from the cold for City by supplying a Samir Nasri winner against Chelsea. Five months after one comeback when trailing, this was another. Tevez scored City's second goal, scurrying past David Luiz and Terry before whipping a shot past Petr Cech. The goal scored, a t-shirt was revealed. "Fuerte Apache," the message, celebrating Tevez's upbringing in that suburb of Buenos Aires. Infamously, he spent much of City's title-winning campaign in Argentina. Now he may be a changed figure. "It is the first time in four or five years he did a pre-season," Mancini said. "His form is better than last season." Yaya Toure's was outstanding then and remains impressive as he showed in grabbing the equaliser. If a criticism levelled at Manchester United is that they do not have an equivalent of the Ivorian, ne ...
After the joy and wonder of an Olympic fortnight that will never be forgotten, English football delivered a fiesty opening to the new season as Manchester City came from behind to beat 10-man Chelsea at Villa Park. Second-half goals from Yaya Toure, Carlos Tevez and Samir Nasri gave the Premier League champions their first Shield triumph since 1972.
Man City hang on for Community Shield victory Yaya Toure, Carlos Tevez & Samir Nasri featured on the scoresheet as the Citizens held off a late rally from 10-man Chelsea to secure a 3-2 victory in the English curtain-raiser
Probably be looking at Joe Hart, Vincent Kompany, Samir Nasri, David Silva and Yaya Toure.
Money/success only brings out more of who you really are..Carlos Tevez and Samir Nasri show their true egotistically arrogant colors by mocking Sir Alex Ferguson and the Arsenal fans respectively..guys, take heed from your colleagues Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany in the traits of humility and dignity
I love Manchester City as they got many best players this seasons.. David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, Yaya Toure and the unforgettable one Carlos Tevez who is always make controversy.. There are among my favourite players.. Roberto Mancini also is a good coach.. Gracias Manchester City.. You deserved it... Yeahhh..
Manchester City F.C have a unique "Prayer Room" in their stadium to accommodate the religious culture of Muslim players , namely Yaya Toure , Edin Dzeko , Kolo Toure and Samir Nasri. RESPECT !!!
"Roberto Mancini got the big calls right and perhaps made the most important substitution of the season. Bringing Nigel De Jong on for Samir Nasri was not a defensive substitution because it allowed Yaya Toure to roam free further up the field. "It was the moment that changed the game, Toure scored twice, City won and the title is theirs to lose. Mike Summerbee, who scored here when City last won the title in 1958, was in the crowd with a tear in his eye. It has been a lot wait for City but it is almost over
COMMENT By Oliver PlattIntroducing Nigel De Jong's midfield steel in place of Samir Nasri's attacking craft might have seemed like an oddly defensive substitution for Roberto Mancini to make, given that Manchester City were desperately searching for the first goal of their crucial encounter with Newcastle United. There was a third man involved in this change, however. De Jong's introduction allowed Yaya Toure to advance into a position just behind lone striker Edin Dzeko – a little bit of tink
GK – Joe Hart (6) Did not have an awful lot to do, but was mostly solid apart from one flappy moment later on. DR – Pablo Zabaleta (7) Always there and strong in the tackle, the Argentine had a fine game as Micah Richards was rested after recovering from injury . DL – Gael Clichy (7) Like Zabaleta was solid defensively, but showed some attacking ability and almost scored a rare late goal. DC – Vincent Kompany (8) The City skipper was a colossus at the back, restricting United to zero shots on target and scoring a towering header. Clear man of the match. DC – Joleon Lescott (7) Did not put a foot wrong alongside Kompany as Wayne Rooney was left chasing shadows MR – Samir Nasri (7) Showed great composure and technique throughout, a calming presence as City wound down the clock too. ML – David Silva (6) A quiet game by his precocious standards but looked lively with his dribbling and running MC – Yaya Toure (8) A monster in midfield as Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick struggled to impose them ...
These two heavyweights went toe to toe, on and off the pitch, the pressure cranking up as the clock ticked down. “The noisy neighbours are getting louder Alex”, read one City banner. “Fergie’s cracking up,’’ chanted the City fans while exhorting their team to hold out. Good performances were seen throughout City’s side from Kompany and Gael Clichy to Samir Nasri and Yaya Toure but United fans will reflect long and *** their manager’s approach.
62. City substitution as Yaya Toure comes on for Samir Nasri
* Man City have dropped league points at home for the first time since February 2011 v Fulham. * Aleksandar Kolarov scored with his sixth shot v Sunderland. He has taken more shots per game (2.2) than either Yaya Toure or Samir Nasri this season. * City have failed to win any of the four games in which Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko have started together this season.
