CITY HITS SEVEN…Chelsea edge Bolton Lampard and Edin Dzeko scored twice as holders Manchester City sailed into the English League Cup fourth round with a crushing 7-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday and Chelsea beat Bolton Wanderers 2-1 on Wednesday. After struggling to break down their Championship (second tier) opponents in the first half, City produced a blistering spell of four goals in 13 minutes immediately after the break. Lampard opened the scoring just three days after netting against his former club Chelsea before Dzeko, Jesus Navas, Yaya Toure, Dzeko, Jose Pozo and Lampard completed the rout. “I really enjoyed that because tonight we saw the team that we were used to seeing last year,” City manager Manuel Pellegrini told reporters. “We have not been scoring so many goals at home so it is the first game we have returned to the team that everyone saw here last year. It is important to try to retain the trophy but the most important thing tonight was to play like we did.” Chelsea, top of th ...
Tactical Review: Manchester City 1-1 Chelsea BY KEITH SATUKU Manchester City tactics: This was a must-win game for Manuel Pellegrini and he boldly set his side to attack Chelsea from a variety of sources. In addition to City’s intricate play through the middle, Pellegrini started with Aleksandar Kolarov at left-back in place of Gael Clichy to take advantage of the Serbian’s quality crosses into the box. In possession, both Pablo Zabaleta and Kolarov had to push forward to provide width in attacks but with slightly different offensive roles. While Zabaleta needed to link up with James Milner to create two-on-one overloads on the right flank, Kolarov needed to just push forward and use his exceptional crossing ability to provide service from the left flank. Vincent Kompany and Eliaquim Mangala had to hold a high line at the halfway line to keep play in the attacking half. In midfield, Yaya Toure needed to drop closer to the central defenders in the centre circle to dictate play from a deeper position, t ...
MEN: Fernando the answer to City's title defence 08:07:00 It may be Tuesday already, but City’s victory on Tyneside is still dominating the headlines both on paper and in digital form. Writers, pundits and fans found plenty to get excited about in the Champions' ruthless display against Newcastle, and while many have already drooled over the combination between Yaya Toure, Edin Dzeko and David Silva, the MEN's Stuart Brennan is waxing lyrical over Fernando. The summer signing turned in an efficient, effective performance on his competitive debut and the piece argues he could prove to be one of the biggest bargains, with that shrewd piece of business strengthening the squad in their quest to retain the title. Enthuses Brennan: "While Edin Dzeko's backheel and David Silva's classy finish caught the eye and captured the imagination, it was Fernando's performance, on his league debut, that underpinned the victory. "Much of what he did was not blindingly obvious. "There were two or three tackles where he sna ...
Thanks to friends and soccer connections Gabi and I were able to make it to the Manchester City Football Club training session at the TCF Stadium before their game against Olympiacos for the Guinness International Champions Cup 2014, and gain access to the players as they left the pitch right after! We met and had pictures taken with Yaya Toure, David Silva, Jesus Navas, Joe Hart, Willy Caballero, Manuel Pellegrini, James Milner, Samir Nasri, Aleksandar Kolarov, Edin Dzeko, Micah Richards & even living legend Christian Karembeu!!! I was amazed at how kind and chill the players were!! Ready to take a picture, give a hug and sign balls and jerseys!! We had an AMAZING time!!! Go Citizens!!!

Today's Transfer talk: Director Of Football Txiki Begiristain is planning on holding 'peace talks' with Yaya Toure before the World Cup. Ashley Cole is reportedly a target for City if he fails to get a move to Real Madrid. Cole wants to prove he is still amongst the best in the world by playing at the highest level and winning more trophies. James Milner will hold talks with City over a new deal, Arsenal, Liverpool and more Premier League clubs are looking at the England International as contract negotiations have stalled. Cesc Fabregas has been offered to City for around £40m, and could be involved in a deal which includes Yaya Toure. Valencia are interested in bringing in Edin Dzeko and are ready to offer around £25m for the Bosnian. Bacary Sagna is set to sign for City on a deal worth around £100k a week. This would confirm that Micah Richards would be on his way out of City. 'Money is not an option' for City as they plan on keeping Yaya Toure until the end of his career and won't be tempted by the ...
With the season finished I thought I'd give my input on such a cracking and ridiculously crazy season with where my end of season awards would have gone. Feel free to dispute it all. Player of the season: 1) Yaya Toure - been no better player this season for, goals, assists, defending. Done it all and then some. One of the main reasons City won the league 2) Luis Suarez - most people's first choice but he's my second choice simply because he didn't do it often enough against the big teams. Yes he scored a load of goals but look at how many of them were against teams in the bottom 8 3) Edin Dzeko - such an underrated player who has really stepped up this year when Aguero has been injured and Negredo was crop after his return from injury (Notable mentions to John Terry, Steven Gerrard and David Silva) Young player of the season: 1) Raheem Sterling - so many different players to pick from here. I think the progress he has made this season has been absolutely phenomenal and he could be absolutely key in the . ...
THIS WAS A THRILLING Premier League SEASON TO SAVOUR:In the thrilling race to be crowned champions, the Premier League's game of thrones was more like musical chairs at times. Even Manchester United, who had a season penned by Stephen King, managed two days at the summit, briefly admiring the view. Arsenal spent 128 days there, Chelsea 64, Liverpool 59 and Manchester City 15. This turnover added to the wonderful unpredictability of one of the best Premier League title campaigns since its inception in 1992. A three-horse chase is rare. Stylish City relied on the quality of Yaya Toure from midfield, the will to win of Pablo Zabaleta, and the goalscoring reliability of Edin Dzeko. David Silva and Samir Nasri graced games. Joe Hart reclaimed his top form after a period of mistakes and introspection. But most credit has to go to Manuel Pellegrini for keeping City composed and focused. Sadly for Liverpool, Steven Gerrard's slip against Chelsea, letting Demba Ba through, proved the defining moment of the 2013-2 ...

I saw how Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri & Edin Dzeko avoid themselves from the alcoholic celebration last night. Good job as a Muslim player.
Word has just gotten out that Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko credit their consumption of halal food as the reason behind Manchester City's success this season. Rumours are circling that fellow Premier League football clubs have asked their nutritionists to follow suit next season.

It was nervy match for Manchester City last night but they eventually broke the stubborn resistance of Aston Villa just after the hour mark and went on to score more goals from Edin Dzeko and Stefan Jovetic. But, just before the final whistle, Yaya Toure picked up the ball 70 yards from the Villa goal and then he did this. The goal was City’s 100th of the season and with a game to go they just need a draw in their final game against West Ham to win a second Premier League title in three years. What do you think of Yaya Toure? Drop a comment below
EPL: Manchester City are within touching distance of the Premier League title after overwhelming Aston Villa 4-0 on Wednesday to close within a point of the championship. Villa resisted until the 64th minute at a sodden Etihad Stadium, but a quick-fire Edin Dzeko brace put the hosts ahead and late goals from Stevan Jovetic and Yaya Toure took City's goal tally to 100 in the league. City's victory eliminates third-place Chelsea from the title race and means that they will be champions for the second time in three years if they avoid defeat at home to West Ham United on Sunday.
FOUR STAR CITY A DRAW AWAY FROM TITLE! Liverpool prayed for a miracle. Aston Villa were the supposed messiah. For an hour Cystanbul looked possible. Then Edin Dzeko opened the floodgates of a football heaven at Eastlands. By the time, Yaya Toure was hammering the final nail in the coffin of the Villains, the Red side of Merseyside must have been in death silence. Dzeko had got his brace and Stevan Jovetic had got on in the act. 4-0 it finished. Liverpool still praying for a miracle. Can West Ham be the new saviour? Man City now need only a draw to be confirmed champions of the English Premier League. The title has taken a short trip to the blue of the City. So it appears. Jose Mourinho said West Ham employ 19th century football, in perfecting the Portuguese art of packing the bus at Stamford Bridge, to get a draw. Even that artistry may not prove enough to derail Manchester's march to the third title in as many years. A draw will hand Manuel Pellegrini's men the title. Sunday is the decider. Miracles do h ...

Edin Dzeko and Yaya Toure rock my socks. Manchester City baby!
Man City 4-0 Villa - FT: Tough going for Villa in the second half against the champions elect. Two goals for Edin Dzeko and late efforts from Stevan Jovetic and Yaya Toure gave the hosts the points. Villa went close towards the end when Callum Robinson nodded across goal into the path of Andreas Weimann, whose header struck the bar and bounced down onto the line.
So, this Manchester City of team can score goals in quick session. They almost gave me a scare, but thank Heavens, they have done it. 4-0 against Aston Villa, Edin Dzeko getting a brace, Stefan Jovetic and Yaya Toure finishing off for City.

EPL TITLE-Man City'S TO LOSE! Manuel Pellegrini's charges take full advantage of Liverpool's 2-0 home hammering by Chelsea to silence Crystal Palace 2-0. Footballer of the year hot contender Yaya Toure inspired City with an assist for Edin Dzeko and his own effort after a fine flowing move. The mathematics are simple for Money bags City: win remaining 3 matches = champions!
Yaya Toure's peerless midfield play dragged Manchester City back into the Premier League title race in a controlled 2-0 win at Crystal Palace. Fit-again Toure teed up Edin Dzeko's 24th goal of the season before firing his 23rd as Manuel Pellegrini's men capitalised on Liverpool's 2-0…
Crstal Palace 0 Manchester City 1 (Edin Dzeko 3 min) City wasting no time here. Buoyed by the Liverpool result, and the amount of time afforded to Yaya Toure in the centre of midfield, they take an early lead. Toure's cross from 30 yards out is exquisite and Dzeko can hardly miss from six yards out with his head because of the quality of the pass
GOAL!! Edin Dzeko opens the scoring for City! Yaya Toure with the assist!
GOAL - Crystal Palace 0-1 Man City - Edin Dzeko (4 mins) Manchester City takes immediate advantage of Liverpool's slip-up as Yaya Toure sweeps a cross to the far post and Edin Dzeko meets the ball with a firm downward header that gives Julian Speroni no chance.

Watch Man City 4-1 Southampton video highlights as goals from Yaya Toure, Edin Dzeko, Samir Nasri and Stevan Jovetic close the gap with league leaders Chelsea on 4/5/2014.
HALF-TIME: Two goals in first-half injury time have Manchester City FC 3-1 up at the break, after Rickie Lambert had pulled us level. Yaya Toure gave the lead from the spot before a Lambert penalty levelled matters. However, after Jay Rodriguez had gone off injured, Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko netted in stoppage time to put the hosts in control.
Manchester City closed to within a point of Premier League leaders Liverpool after recording a comfortable victory over Southampton at the Etihad Stadium. In a first half overshadowed by what appears to be a serious knee injury sustained by Jay Rodriguez, Yaya Toure put the home side in front from the penalty spot just three minutes in after Jose Fonte had felled Edin Dzeko, but Rickie Lambert brought the Saints level from 12 yards on 37 minutes. But Samir Nasri slotted in a pass from an offside David Silva to put City back in front eight minutes later and Dzeko headed in Aleksandar Kolarov's cross immediately before half-time. City had been clinical rather than dominant in the first half but controlled the match after the break, with substitute Stevan Jovetic adding a fourth nine minutes from time.
2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, the first World Cup held in Ramadan fasting month, since the Knockout Stage till the Final... the possible Muslim players playing in the Knockout Stage are Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, Edin Dzeko, Robin Van Persie, Franck Ribery, Karim Benzema, Kolo Toure, Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri, Marouane Fellaini, Paul Pogba, Ilkay Gundogan, Ibrahim Afellay (if he is called), etc...
Manchester City recorded a comfortable victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford. David Moyes named Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley in the same team for the first time, with Danny Welbeck returning to the side. Rio Ferdinand was fit enough to return at the back. Manuel Pellegrini went for Edin Dzeko ahead of Alvaro Negredo, and Gael Clichy ahead of Aleksandar Kolarov. City started brilliantly, and probably should have won the game within the first 25 minutes. United shape Moyes changed his system completely for this game, and seemed to start with a 4-3-3. This is the first time he’s played this formation with United in the Premier League, and seemed to be a response to City’s system – probably to deny Yaya Toure space and time on the ball. Fellaini was tasked with stopping him in the opening stages, although came out second best, at one point clearly not having the physicality to knock Toure off the ball. Cleverley continues to look nervous in possession and positionally he ...
A goal in each half from Edin Dzeko and late third from Yaya Toure settled the 167th Manchester derby that the Blues dominated from the first minute onwards to record a Premier League double over their old rivals - and break several club records in the process. With so much at stake and the Blues eating into the first of their three games in hand over leaders Chelsea, Manuel Pellegrini opted for a starting XI with pace and plenty of attacking options. Jesus Navas and Gael Clichy were recalled to patrol the flanks while skipper Vincent Kompany and Edin Dzeko returned to the team after a suspension for the former and illness to the latter.
Furious Manchester United fans turned on Sir Alex Ferguson as their season hit a new low with this derby debacle. Manchester City condemned United to a record 10th Premier League defeat this season, with Edin Dzeko opening the scoring after 43 seconds. Dzeko added a second and Yaya Toure scored a third at the death on as mutiny engulfed Old Trafford at the end with supporters venting their fury. Some United fans voiced their dismay at former boss Ferguson, sat in the directors’ box, for personally appointing David Moyes as his successor. At the end six stewards were forced to guard the ‘Chosen One’ banner in honour of Moyes (below), with fans in the Stretford End attempting to tear it down. Moyes took the blame for United’s latest defeat and said local rivals City had set the standards the reigning champions must now aspire to reach. Question Do you blame Sir Alex Ferguson for Man United’s woes?

Manuel Pellegrini's City underlined their status as kings of Manchester after they brushed aside David Moyes' United 3-0 with alarming ease at Old Trafford. Edin Dzeko scored after just 42 seconds to put City ahead and the big striker struck again after the break before Yaya Toure rounded off yet another miserable night for Moyes. Further questions will surely be asked about Moyes' ability to bring the glory days back to United. There was no fortune about this victory from Pellegrini's team, who are now three points off the top of the Barclays Premier League with two games in hand on Chelsea. If anything, it was a minor miracle that City did not win by four or five. David Silva, Toure, Fernandinho and Samir Nasri overran and outclassed a weak United midfield and Dzeko - a surprise starter ahead of Alvaro Negredo - did the rest up front. It seems, after all, that Pellegrini had a point when he said there has been only one club in Manchester this year. United lacked confidence, tempo and cohesion. There was ...
Man u 0 Man City 3 Edin Dzeko and Yaya Toure shined yesterday on tis derby game.
Manchester United 0-3 Manchester City: match report If there was ever such a moment that has summed up David Moyes tenure so far at Old Trafford the first forty seconds of tonight's match proved it. Manchester City rolled into the red side of Manchester hoping to curtail the apparent turn in fortunes for the Red Devils. After cruising to a 5-0 victory over Fulham, City picked an almost full strength side for the derby. Apart from the exceptional Sergio Aguero - who was replaced by the night's hero Edin Dzeko - City were at full throttle. Manchester United set their stall to pack the midfield in order to deal with the strength of Yaya Toure and Fernandinho. Marouane Fellaini, Tom Cleverley and Micheal Carrick were tasked with this job. Around Old Trafford the fear was evident around the 70,000 plus Red's fans. The 3 or 4 thousands Blues fan's sensed this and were looking for United blood. Home form was the problem all season and from the off the alarm bells were ringing. From centre City were on the offens ...
NEWS AT THIS HOUR !!! Yaya Toure has been hailed as the world's best goalscoring midfielder. Arsenal's Bacary Sagna is a transfer target for Inter Milan and the club is also interested in Fernando Torres and Edin Dzeko, according to president Erick Thohir. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has challenged his side to quickly get their Barclays Premier League campaign back on course by beating Swansea to "repair the damage" from the "accident" of being thrashed 6-0 at Chelsea. Chelsea plan to wait until after the World Cup to decide whether they will sell Romelu Lukaku with Tottenham and Everton very keen. Kyle Walker is losing his battle to recover for Tottenham's trip to Liverpool on Sunday as he struggles to shake off a pelvic problem. Juan Mata has proved himself the perfect 10 for United, according to Darren Fletcher, while boss David Moyes thinks the Spaniard can have a similar impact to David Silva at City. Stoke City chairman Peter Coates has hailed Sunday's historic victory at Aston Villa as the club's ...
Hull 0-1 Man City Hull are camped on the edge of the Manchester City area now, but the visitors' 10 men are still holding out. They have got another free-kick to deal with, though, because Edin Dzeko has fouled Ahmed Elmohamady to the right of the area. Before he takes it, I should tell you that City brought on Joleon Lescott for Yaya Toure, just before Fernandinho missed that chance. Around the same time, Hull's Liam Rosenior was booked, for a foul on Pabo Zabaleta.

just found out that Yaya Toure, Frank Ribery and Edin Dzeko are all muslims!
City end Chelsea’s FA Cup hopes Manchester City avenged their recent loss to Chelsea in the Premier League with a 2-0 home win on Saturday that sent them into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. City's perfect home record in the league was spoilt last week when Chelsea pulled off a 1-0 win at the Etihad Stadium, but goals in each half from Stevan Jovetic and Samir Nasri gave Manuel Pellegrini's side revenge. Both managers named strong teams for the heavyweight fifth-round clash, but hosts City dominated from the off. Jovetic seemed determined to impress and after clipping a shot just over the crossbar when Petr Cech spilled an effort from Yaya Toure, the Montenegrin forward broke the deadlock in the 16th minute. Edin Dzeko was the architect with a measured pass into the box for Jovetic, who placed a delicate shot into the net via the base of the left-hand post. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho introduced January signing Mohamed Salah and striker Fernando Torres in the second half, but it was City substitute ...
GOAL - Man City 1-0 Chelsea - Stevan Jovetic (16 mins) Stevan Jovetic had hit the bar just a minute before as Petr Cech spilled Yaya Toure's shot, but makes no mistake when offered a second bite of the cherry. The Montenegro international outstrips Cesar Azpilicueta for pace to gather Edin Dzeko's pass and apply a slide-rule side-foot finish which checks in off the inside of the far post.
Man City's £600m investment is paying off - bursting their bubble is Mourinho's biggest challenge since returning to Chelsea One of the most interesting figures in Manchester City's recent accounts showed that the club has spent more than £600million on incoming transfers since the Abu Dhabi takeover of 2008. Robinho, Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez, Craig Bellamy, Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Yaya Toure. It is an astonishing list of talent. Tonight at the Etihad Stadium is the reason City have invested so extravagantly. A Barclays Premier League game against Chelsea and Jose Mourinho. Second plays third and City have the chance to go top. Is it a shootout for the title? Not quite but it feels like it. City will be without Aguero, who is injured. But their back-up is stellar quality. Alvaro Negredo – The Beast – and Edin Dzeko will threaten Chelsea's defence. As the graphic above from WhoScored.Com shows, City's strikers are streets ahead of their Chelsea counterparts. Silva – who could choose any ...
Chelsea and City Chelseafc.com 5 players to watch Edin Dzeko - With no Aguero, and still a doubt of Negredo's fitness, the onus will be on Dzeko to fire them to victory over Chelsea, and he may need to be clinical in front of goal as Chelsea are going to set up to be as solid as possible at the Etihad Stadium. John Terry - It is going to be a big defensive effort for the visitors and Terry is going to need to demonstrate all of his best qualities. As well as being a top class defender, he is going to need to show how good a leader he is as Chelsea look to end City's 100% home record. Yaya Toure - When is Toure not a player to watch for City? It will be interesting to see how Chelsea deal with the powerful Ivorian. If the strikers aren't a goal threat in this game, expect Toure to be. It will be hard to keep him quiet. Ramires - Ramires has some incredible pace and an engine which could be useful when playing City on the counter attack and getting beyond City's midfield duo. It would not be surprising if R ...
When Didier Drogba’s four-goal haul helped Chelsea beat Wigan 8-0 to win the title on the final day of the 2009/10 season, it was assumed their Premier League record of 103 goals in 38 games would stand for years. That was until Manuel Pellegrini arrived to take over at Manchester City. With the Chilean insisting on regularly playing two strikers, City’s team of attacking all-stars go into Monday night’s potential title-decider against Chelsea having scored a remarkable 68 times in 23 league matches this season at an average of very nearly three-goals-a-game. For Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Frank Lampard of Chelsea ’10, read Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Negredo, Edin Dzeko and Yaya Toure of City ’14. Even with Aguero missing the next month with a hamstring injury, City will be confident of scoring the 36 goals needed in their remaining 15 matches to break Chelsea’s record

TEAM NEWS & LATE Fitness check : Manchester City v Chelsea Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed Sergio Aguero is out for a month, so Edin Dzeko will be expected to partner the returning Alvaro Negredo. The rest of the side picks itself, with a midfield of Jesus Navas, Yaya Toure, Fernandinho and David Silva and a defence featuring Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany and Martin Demichelis. The only question mark is who gets the nod between Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov, with Kolarov favourite after Clichy started at White Hart Lane on Wednesday. Chelsea will be without Fernando Torres, so Samuel Eto'o will start at the Etihad. It seems unlikely Jose Mourinho will do any rotating, so expect to see the strongest line-up available. This could mean a start for Matic in midfield alongside Ramires, with Oscar, Eden Hazard and Willian supporting Eto'o. West Brom v Liverpool West Brom striker Nicolas Anelka has been ruled out with a knee injury, and will not feature against one of his former sides. ...
After demolishing Spurs 5-1 on Wednesday and with the chance to win four trophies at the end of the 2013/14 season, Manchester City are chasing the improbable target of scoring two centuries of goals in all competitions. The five goals they scored on Wednesday made it 115 goals scored already in 37 games, an average of 3.1 goals per game. And starting next Monday, when they face Chelsea at the Etihad, City have at least 27 matches to play till the end of the season – that is saying they get to the finals of all their cup competitions plus the 15 games they have to play in the Premiership. Their 115-goal haul have been provided by a dozen players – from their two top strikers; Sergio Aguero, who has scored 26 goals to Alvaro Negredo on 23. Substitute striker, Edin Dzeko, has scored 17, while midfield juggernaut, Yaya Toure has weighed in with 15. And what makes the Citizens a fearsome goal-scoring side is that all departments of their play have provided goals. Left-back Aleksandar Kolarov has scored fo ...
Alvaro Negredo netted a hat-trick as Manchester City demolished West Ham 6-0 in the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg. Edin Dzeko grabbed two and Yaya Toure also got on the scoresheet as City all but booked a trip to Wembley by piling on the misery for the Hammers and their under- fire manager Sam Allardyce. Allardyce had prioritised the game to some extent by fielding a weakened side against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round last weekend. But that backfired as they were thrashed and despite eight changes, including the return of senior players such as Mark Noble, Joe Cole, Guy Demel and Mohamed Diame, it proved a similar story in the Manchester rain. It was also a particularly chastening debut for Roger Johnson, who looked well off the pace after arriving on loan from Wolves to bolster the defence this week. For City, it was another irresistible display to add to a growing catalogue that has already seen them put six past Arsenal and Tottenham and score seven against Norwich this season. The ...
Manchester City scored so many goals in their Capital One Cup first leg semifinal thrashing of West Ham that Edin Dzeko forgot how many they mustered. The Bosnian striker scored twice, notching City’s fifth and sixth goals in a victory that takes them to the brink of a first League Cup final since 1976. But he said to Sky Sports: "It's not easy to win 5-0 at home against a Premier League team but we did. Was it 6-0? Oh.” And manager Manuel Pellegrini, who famously got his maths wrong in the Champions League game away at Bayern Munich when he thought City needed to win 5-2 to top the group -- whereas 4-2 would have sufficed -- sympathised. “That happens sometimes,” he smiled. “It was a brilliant performance. It doesn't matter if we were two, three or four up we kept playing the same way, always looking for more goals.” Alvaro Negredo scored a hat trick and Yaya Toure struck after a long solo run and Pellegrini allayed fears that the midfielder, who seemed hurt by a first-half challenge with Moh ...

By Tom Maston It may not help heal the wounds of Stamford Bridge six days ago, but the way in which Manchester City dismantled Norwich was a delight to watch. Samir Nasri, Sergio Aguero and David Silva were all at their best while for Costel Pantilimon is was as easy a league debut as you would want. Questions must be asked of Chris Hughton, however, whose job at Carrow Road is coming under increasing pressure. No matter what the opposition, conceding 11 times in two trips to Manchester within five days is inexcusable. Yaya Toure, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko added goals five, six and seven after the break as the match lived up to its goal-rich reputation, with 25 having been scored in the previous four top-flight meetings between the two sides. In addition to the change in goalkeeper, Negredo replaced Javi Garcia in the only other alteration to the City side that started a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea last Sunday. Chris Hughton also made a double change to his Norwich side from last weekend’s goalless draw wi ...

Manchester City's £22m striker Stevan Jovetic scored his first goals for the club to help Manuel Pellegrini's side to an emphatic Capital One Cup win over Wigan. City gained some revenge for their FA Cup final defeat by the Latics in May as Edin Dzeko opened the scoring. Jovetic scored twice, either side of Yaya Toure's free-kick, as City's class shone through in the second half. Jesus Navas netted a late fifth as City eased into the fourth round. Stevan Jovetic Born: Titograd, 2 November 1989 Nickname: The Montenegrin Messi Previous clubs: Mladost Podgorica, Partizan Belgrade, Fiorentina International: Montenegro - 27 caps, 10 goals City also hit the bar twice and forced Wigan's debutant goalkeeper Lee Nicholls into a number of excellent saves as they overwhelmed Owen Coyle's Championship side. Their dominant display was even more impressive considering they made 10 changes to their team which hammered neighbours Manchester United on Sunday - Fernandinho the only player to retain his place. Nicholls, wh ...

MERSE PREDICTS.Sunday: Arsenal v Man City 3.30pm, Sun, Sky Sports 1 HD & Sky 3D I don't see Man City winning this game at all. The worst way out for Arsenal is a draw in my opinion. I say that because there's no Sergio Aguero and no Yaya Toure. Despite all the millions of pounds Man City have spent over the years and the squad they've got, those two players will be sorely, sorely missed. I watched Aguero the other week against Stoke City, who have probably got the best defence in the league. Ryan Shawcross and Robert Huth are two of the best centre-halves around and I've never seen them get a complete and utter run-around like they did that day. I can't see Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko giving the Arsenal defenders a run-around like that. And without Yaya Toure they won't have the strength in midfield and that means we could see a game of "passy passy" in that area - and there's nobody better at "passy passy" than Arsenal. Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere are great at that. Admittedly, Arsenal ...
Can Mancini retain his job? by Sunday Oliseh 03/04/2012, 09:49 Roberto Mancini, manager of the world’s richest club, Manchester City, is definitely having sleepless nights these days! Why? His job and future as manager of this, now world renowned club, is threatened to say the least! Manchester City lie second in the Premier League, 5 points behind eternal Rivals Manchester United. Thanks to their 3-3 home draw vs. Sunderland whilst Manchester United came off at Blackburn with a 0-2 victory. Who could have thought this possible just a few months ago when City lead the pack, at one point with as much as 9 points! Man City is arguably littered with world class players, bought expensively and in large numbers. The players who sit on the bench of this team are easily regulars in most teams around the world today. Sami Nasri (ex Arsenal) Carlos Tevez, Dzeko just to name a few! It boasts of talented players like Silva, Ballotelli, Yaya Toure, Kolo Toure, Sami Nasri , Gareth Barry, Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko and ...
There's another great chance for Manchester City to equalise! David Silva finds himself in miles of space on the right, and he bears down on David de Gea's goal, cuts inside a defender, then fires straight at the goalkeeper's head. The ball deflects onto the post and then behind -- that really could have gone anywhere. We're now into Edin Dzeko time, and the big Bosnian's being readied as City lay siege to Manchester United's goal. With only ten minutes or so left in this match, the visitors are still 2-1 up and threatening intermittently, but it's the hosts who look more likely. Although not by doing that -- Samir Nasri runs straight into Patrice Evra and falls over rather than crossing. Presumably he was looking for a penalty, but... yeah. That's better from Nasri, though -- he fires in a delivery that Tevez fires just over. The next action is Yaya Toure off, Edin Dzeko on, while Phil Jones comes on for Antonio Valencia.
“83. City make their final change as Yaya Toure limps off for Edin Dzeko. Can Edin do it again and save the day?” No.
Edin Dzeko's soft, Yaya Toure is shattered and Samir Nasri's useless - the enduring affliction of moanyitis:

Mancini rages at referee ESPN staff November 6, 2012 Roberto Mancini raged at referee Peter Rasmussen after Manchester City had a goal ruled out for offside and were denied a late penalty as their Champions League dream all but died with a 2-2 home draw against Ajax. - Jolly: City cornered - Tyler: Group of Death tightens hold - Curtis: 'Flinterdun' as City lights go out Sergio Aguero had a goal chalked off when the creator Aleksandr Kolarov was ruled offside when he seemed to be level from Edin Dzeko's pass, and Mario Balotelli appeared to have his shirt tugged by Ricardo Van Rhijn late on. City started the game terribly. Siem De Jong was left unchecked at two first- half corners, the Ajax captain able to head home a brace, forcing Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero to dig deep and score the goals needed to keep City within five points of the qualification spots in Group D. Ominously, City now need to beat both Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, who also drew 2-2 on Tuesday. Mancini, though, pulled no punches ...
Manchester City takeaways from the game-David Silva and Yaya Toure looked great in the midfield. Silva is such a creative player with great vision. Edin Dzeko should be a starter over Carlos Tevez. City looked a bit vulnerable on the counter attack in the first half. Overall, a good game from the City Boys.
Edin Dzeko and Yaya Toure mancity's best players this season.
With the hosts continuing to dominate but struggling to find a way through, it was City who opened the scoring, with Edin Dzeko firing home on 68 minutes after Yaya Toure broke away on the counter.
Real Madrid 3-2 Manchester City A tense opening half brought some great saves out of Joe Hart as City looked to be clinging onto the game but a fantastic run and pass from Yaya Toure set Edin Dzeko clear to slot past Iker Casillas in the second period. It didn't take Madrid too long to get level, though, with left-back Marcelo the scorer, cutting in on his right foot to see a deflected shot loop over Joe Hart's despairing dive. With a little under 10 minutes to go, it looked like City might have stolen three points when Kolarov's free kick from wide on the right flew all the way in but again Madrid came back, this time substitute Karim Benzema turning Matija Nastasic and rifling a shot into the bottom corner. And, with a minute left on the clock, Cristiano Ronaldo finally came good for Madrid, cutting in to shoot, with Hart apoplectic at his captain, Vincent Kompany, for ducking out of the way as the shot flew past.
Come kick-off, the cameras will train their lenses on the vast array of talent on the field - Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Mesut Ozil,Karim Benzema,Iker Casillas,Sergio Ramos,Angel Di Maria,Luka Modric, Sammy Khedira, kaka, gonzalo Higuain ,Yaya Toure, David Silva,Sergio Aguero,Carlos Tevez,Edin Dzeko,Mario Balotelli,Samir Nasri,Gareth Barry,Vincent company,Maicon,Gael Clichy - the list goes on. But the dynamic in the dugout is likely to be just as compelling.

Manchester City 3 Queens Park Rangers 1 - Yaya Toure, Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez on target - City now fourth in the EPL standings.

Manchester City once failed with an accidental £30 million bid for Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, it has been revealed. City have shown themselves to be willing to splash the cash in order to land big names ever since being taken over by the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, having spent over £30 million on each of Robinho and Sergio Aguero, and over £25 million on Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor, Mario Balotelli, David Silva and Yaya Toure. Upon arriving at the club in 2008, City’s owners wanted to make a landmark signing and eventually splashed out on Robinho from Real Madrid, having just missed out on Kaka, Fernando Torres and Dimitar Berbatov as well. Now former Chief Executive Garry Cook, who famously accused Kaka of ‘bottling’ his move to the Etihad Stadium, has revealed that in the confusion of their attempts to land a big name in the summer of 2008, contact was made with Barcelona over the prospect of landing Messi.
Scores Chelsea FC 2 vs 3 Manchester City - Played … - An excellent second-half performance from Manchester City saw goals from Yaya Toure, Tevez and Nasri cancel out Torres' opener for Chelsea, who found it hard to compete following the dismissal of Ivanovic after 42 minutes. … - And that's full-time at Villa Park. Manchester City run out 3-2 winners over Chelsea. 90′ + 3 - City now have the ball in the corner and Silva takes the opportunity to showcase his skills as he wriggles free in the Chelsea box. Nothing comes of it though. 90′ + 1 - And again City squander another. Dzeko this time has the chance to race clear but the striker delays and is caught up by Terry who makes the block. 90′ - City again spurn a good chance to make it four as Milner crosses again from the right. His ball is met by Aguero but the Argentine from six yards out scuffs his effort wide of Cech's right-hand post. 88′ - Substitution Carlos Tevez Edin Dzeko (Manchester City) 88′ - City a ...
We're finish the season with a total of points which should enough to win the league title, Proud for the hardworks shown by the players and should learn so much things from our failure in every competition this season so we shall see another great comeback from Manchester United Football Club, InsyAllah ..One Love, One United!!! P.S: Congrats to our Muslim Brothers, Kolo & Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri, Edin Dzeko, AbdisSalam Ibrahim, Mohammad Abu at Manchester City Football Club...
Though we've got fantastic players in Kun Aguero,Carlos Tevez,Yaya Toure,David Silva,Captain Fantastic Vincent Company,Joe Hart,Micah Richards,De Jong,Pablo Zabaleta,Edin Dzeko,Samir Nasri,Clichy ,Kolarov,James Milner,Gareth Barry and Adam Johnson,we do not have confidence in them. Our confidence is in the Fantastic Team.Great players don't win a match, great teams do.We need to play as a strong team against QPR on sunday and we will win.Together we are stronger.God bless our City and make us triumph on sunday.Come on City!.
Manchester City F.C have a unique "Prayer Room" in their stadium to accommodate the religious culture of Muslim players , namely Yaya Toure , Edin Dzeko , Kolo Toure and Samir Nasri. RESPECT !!!
COMMENT By Oliver PlattIntroducing Nigel De Jong's midfield steel in place of Samir Nasri's attacking craft might have seemed like an oddly defensive substitution for Roberto Mancini to make, given that Manchester City were desperately searching for the first goal of their crucial encounter with Newcastle United. There was a third man involved in this change, however. De Jong's introduction allowed Yaya Toure to advance into a position just behind lone striker Edin Dzeko – a little bit of tink
I just realised that Yaya Toure, Kolo Toure, Edin Dzeko and Solomon Kalou are Muslims. :)
Oh my goodness! What a massive goal that is. As Edin Dzeko replaces Carlos Tevez, Yaya Toure plays a neat one-two on the edge of the box before sweeping the return first-time into the bottom right corner
* Man City have dropped league points at home for the first time since February 2011 v Fulham. * Aleksandar Kolarov scored with his sixth shot v Sunderland. He has taken more shots per game (2.2) than either Yaya Toure or Samir Nasri this season. * City have failed to win any of the four games in which Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko have started together this season.
After getting Yaya Toure, Gareth Bale and Edin Dzeko in the same pack my ultimate team is beast
