I went back and looked at articles written about Tim Thomas and his decision not to go to the White House. BRUTAL.
Like that time Tim Thomas didn't go to the White House because he disagrees with Obama's politics?
Reminder: In 2012, Tim Thomas of the Boston Bruins declined to meet Obama at the White House in protest and got brutalized…
Tim Thomas said no to President Obama for visit to White House. How many championship winning athletes will say no to President Donald Trump
Reminds me of the time Tim Thomas refused to meet Barack Obama at the White House. Some journalist should call him about now.
People thought it was a big deal that Tim Thomas and Matt Birk refused White House visits after championships, whole teams will refuse now
Tim Thomas subs in for Tom Brady at today's White House visit. Sports Media Lodge on Fire.
And this why Tim Thomas is one of the few people I admire! "I believe the Federal Government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People. This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal Government. Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL. This is the only public statement I will be making on this topic. TT"
Breaking news: Tim Thomas reportedly will NOT visit the White House today with the
Red Sox attending the White House today. I hear Tim Thomas won't be there.
It's a new month-Monday April 1st..Let's go-Breaking News-The PATS trade Ryan Mallett to the Houston Texans and get the draft pick.Folks it finallly went down CELTS TRADE RONDO.to NY for CARMELO. OK. Last night-Tom Brady told the LA Press that he would not mind if he got traded to San Francisco his favorite Childhood team so he could be like "Joe Montana". Brady for Kapernick..HMMM. The BRUINS announced that Tim Thomas Secretly went the to White House by Himself and apologized to President Obama about not Showing up the White House. He also apologized to All his Old Bruins Teammates for being so "political".APRIL FOOL!!!
Tim Thomas will not be going to the White House with the Red Sox tomorrow, sweet blazers or not.
The more stories you hear about teams going to the White House, the bigger *** I feel Tim Thomas was for NOT going back in 2011.
Tim Thomas is in net for Florida as they host the Bruins right now on NESN, in what is sure to be quite an interesting game. Thomas is the former Bruin whose fantastic play helped backstop the B's to the Stanley Cup in 2011. There were then some instances of odd behavior by Thomas, including not going with the team to the White House the next year and then, even though he was under contract last season, deciding to take a year away from hockey. The Bruins were easily able to move on to Tuuka Rask as their goalie, who in his 1st year as the starter, was able to take them to the Finals. This is an important game for Boston, as they dropped a 3-2 decision to Detroit Monday afternoon and are only 3-2 on the young season. The Panthers come in at 2-5 and Thomas has struggled in his last couple of games as he has battled a groin issue. In the ALCS, Game 1 starters, John Lester for Boston and Anibal Sanchez for Detroit, which was a 1-0 win for the Tigers, will face off again tonight in Detroit in game 5 of the AL ...
Ok hockey season is almost upon us and all I hear is how Tim Thomas didn't go to the White House. A couple of things he has not been on the Bruins since 2011 and second I cannot see the big issue here. Tim Thomas was not the first. I do not remember the outrage when neither Theo Epstein nor Manny Ramirez skipped meeting President Bush. I think this whole thing is silly since its not only a little over 2 years ago but also because he is no longer on the team.
When is the person in the White House going to grow a pair and do something about our Embassies being attacked? Instead of having our wonderful Armed Forces running around uselessly in Afghanistan and Iran send them to where they are needed and would probably love to be-- protecting our Embassies in those savage, pagan, muslim countries. Is this going to be another "we won't be blackmailed" as Jimmy Carter said in 1979 when 52 of our countrymen sat as hostages for 444 days in Iran? Do something. If our Embassy in egypt gets attacked and burned, then close the egyptian embassy in this country and send them all home. It's time for an "eye for an eye". Bomb those sad excuses for humanity and we'll have gasoline for .50 a gallon.By the way the bodies of our fallen countrymen who were murdered in Yemen are returning home today. Where will our alleged "Commander-in-Chief" be? He will be at the White House hanging out with members of the Olympic Teams while Hillary Clinton meets their plane. Does he ...
Love this pic...because this man a republican who may not agree with Pres O's politics has more upbringing than Tim Thomas did but not going to White House when Boston Bruins invited as a team.
I just heard that Tim Thomas, goalie of the Boston Bruins refused to visit the White House after the Bruins won the Stanley Cup and now Obama is raising taxes on hockey goalies.
Without Tim Thomas, the Bruins would have not brought the Stanley Cup back to Boston in 2011, and for that, I am grateful. I also stood by his choice to not attend the White House even though he should have gone, as it was a team event, not a political one. Now, Thomas announces that he stands with Chick-fil-A on their recently publicized stance on *** rights. Tim Thomas, you're exhausting. Thanks for the Cup, but don't let the door hit you on the way out.
First, Tim Thomas refused to go to the White House with his Boston Bruins teammates last January to meet President Barack Obama. Now, hes threatening to not show up at all next season.
How bout them LA Kings??!! Maybe if Tim Thomas woulda went to the White House, and not put up a stink.the Bruins wouldnt of got bounced by the Washington Capitals. Karma
Wow, the symbolism in that Bruins playoff game. Tim Thomas, the Bruins goalie refuse to visit the White House to shake Pres. Obama hand, with the team. Joel Ward a black player on the Washington Capitals got the goal, and won the game. I see racist people are finally getting what they deserve!
So, Tim Thomas stiffs Barack Obama by avoiding the Bruins' White House visit and then a Washington team knocks the Bruins out of the playoffs? What a wonderful coincidence.
Through his own actions, Tim Thomas has become one of the most divisive players in the NHL. His boycott of the Boston Bruins' White House celebration, and subsequent stonewalling of questions about it, created a groundswell of resentment against him. … Continue reading →
Call it irony, call it whatever you want, Tim Thomas' White House snub came back to haunt him. + they missed Michael Ryder big time!
Coincidence, or karma being one smart b*tch? Boston Bruins star goalie Tim Thomas turned down a visit to the White House for political reasons. And the Washington Capitals' Joel Ward, a black man, scored the series winning goal.
Tim Thomas blows off the President of the United States when the Bruins are invited to the White House as Stanley Cup Champions. The Bruins seeded just got sent home by the "Washington Capitals" seeded in OT of the 1st round 7th game. The OT goal was scored by Joel Ward. How re-Ward-ing. Enjoy the summer Tim.
Now is it ironic how Tim Thomas boycotted coming to the White House to visit our countries first Black President and Game 7 he gets beat by Joel Ward a Black hockey player
Take that Tim Thomas you crazy tea party supporter. That's what you get for not going to the White House to celebrate last years Stanley Cup. Go Caps.
watching the Boston Bruins vs the Washington Capitals. I love Boston, but because goaltender Tim Thomas is a right-wing nut job (he's a T-Party *** , I just can't root for the Bruins. To me, Tim Thomas is a hypocritical bigot. Last year when the Bruins won Lord Stanley's cup, he didn't show up at the White House ceremony, because of our President! There' a tradition in the playoffs; after a series is over, all the players from both teams line up and shake hands--if I were on the opposing team facing the Bruins and it was my turn to shake Thomas' hand I would just skate away!
Boston Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas created a controversy in January when he skipped a team trip to the White House after winning the Stanley Cup. Thomas s
WASHINGTON -- With Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas back in the nation's capital, Washington Capitals fans weren't going to let him forget his skipped trip to the White House. Tuesday, April 17, 2012.
Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas is a Tea Partier who refused to visit the white house with his team this year as is customary after winning the cup. Will he be so wound up about playing Washington that he will fall apart? What signs should Caps fans taunt/distract him with? ... "Tax Thomas" ... "Occupy the Crease" ... other suggestions?
Mike Milbury would be more comfortable if Tim Thomas had protested the White House and then traded Joe Biden for Oleg Kvasha & Mark Parrish.
