It got a few laughs!

Weird Al Yankovic was the valedictorian of his class at Lynwood High School, which is just outside of Los Angeles. In addition to this, he graduated high school at just 16 years old. He was able to do so because his parents had him attend kindergarten a year earlier than is typical. He went on to be a straight-A student throughout high school, which eventually culminated in him becoming the valedictorian of his class. It was during high school when he also submitted home-made recordings to Dr. Demento, which were tapes of Weird Al performing various parodies of songs, accompanied with his accordion. Dr. Demento would occasionally put some of Weird Al’s songs on the air, such as “Belvedere Cruisin”, which was one of his more popular “high school years” songs. Mayo Park | Map | FREE Opener: Next to Nothing NBC called Greg Kihn “Rock’s True Renaissance Man.” His career stretches from the dawn of punk and indie rock to the discos of the 80’s to the glory days of MTV. As a pioneer with the legendary Beserkley Records, he helped write the book on revolutionary west coast rock and roll. He’s toured the world, had hit records, appeared on Saturday Night Live and American Bandstand, opened for the Rolling Stones, jammed with Bruce Springsteen, won the ASCAP and Midem Awards for his worldwide hit JEOPARDY and THE BREAKUP SONG, was parodied by Weird Al Yankovic, lived the rock star lifestyle to the hilt, won and lost several fortunes, and lived to tell about it. But music is only part of the story. In the 90’s Greg turned his attention to writing fiction. He published four novels, a handful of short stories in various anthologies, and edited a compilation of original fiction by famous musicians. HORROR SHOW was nominated for the prestigious Bram Stoker Award ...

Speaking of movies filmed in Oklahoma, anyone remember UHF with Weird Al Yankovic. That movie was hilarious. I heard the Spatula City sign was actually left up off the BA Expressway a long time after filming and motorists who had never seen the movie were trying to find the store.

Big night in our little town of Keene, NH. Weird Al Yankovic at the Colonial Theatre and performing directly across the street is Cheech Marin of Cheech & Chong fame.
Here in the small town of Keene, NH, we have Weird Al Yankovic playing at the Colonial and right across the street at the local lawn shop Cheech Marin has a benefit going on. Not sure which line is longer.
Excited about tomorrow night. Get to meet Cheech Marin and his wife in downtown Keene at Good Fortune. If you were to meet Cheech, what would your introduction be? I would go obscure and say "You were great as Hurley's dad in LOST." How strange is it that Weird Al Yankovic is playing right across the street at the Colonial on the same night? What's your intro there? "Loved you in Eat it and Amish Paradise"

So where were we? Ah yes... Anniversary story 8 of 13... Weird Al yankovic? DISCLAIMER: if you have followed along this far you may have noticed a few weird Al references. To be clear... Heather HATES Mr yankovic. Her taste in music is varied and diverse and I generally hate her music as much as she hates mine. As I've told these stories about Heather and my relationship building up to our wedding I have told stories that Heather was directly involved in. this next story she was involved because she was kind enough to babysit for me so I could go have this life changing adventure. and since I can't imagine any other time I will have your undivided attention to tell my Weird Al Yankovic story I figured I would slip it in real quick ;) hope you don't mind... there I was sitting at Heather's house hanging out with Matthew and the lady when the phone rang. for you younger members of this audience keep in mind there were no cell phones. back in those days you needed to keep up with not only your friends and re ...

As someone who's half Mexican and half Caucasian, I've spent my life vacillating between two cultures. Today I went to an Arrested Development marathon party. Which means my White Side has won. I'll miss you, tamales. It was a good run. But now I must eat quinoa and kale with my other tribe, and pretend to laugh at New Yorker cartoons. Mexican music, I won't miss you quite as much. Accordians are for Weird Al Yankovic records.

Immortal Ever after is out! (I apologize for being a little late announcing this release but I got a little distracted with all the meetings and men coming in and out of my office / bedroom. And before you go there and allow those dirty little thoughts to pop up... they are the construction guys working on my office renos and sadly my office is presently in my bedroom! LOL) Anyway in this story not only do we get to see our reserved hero dealing with his newly found life mate (poor Anders!) but we also get to see a very pregnant and cranky Leigh dealing with an overprotective Lucian (so funny) not to mention all the enforcers trying to keep tabs on Leigh at Lucian's orders. All I can say is I have a new appreciation for Weird Al Yankovic's 'White and Nerdy'.
Charlie is like a cross between a Weird Al Yankovic and a prince cause he's weird and sexy at the same time hehehe

Today is Bonnaroo Lineup Announcement Day and this year Superfly and AC Entertainment have tasked Weird Al Yankovic with announcing the acts that will play Bonnaroo 2013 on June 13 – 16.
My discourse on bands I'm constantly scrutinized for listening to: 1. Emerson, Lake, and Palmer -- I don't care, Keith Emerson is an epic keyboardist, and he does better than most rock artists at covers of classical pieces. 2. Electric Light Orchestra -- By nature, I have always had a deep flair for the dramatic, and ELO's music always makes me think of excellent pop music combined with silent movie soundtracks. I love it. 3. Yes -- Operatic with a psychedelic philosophy, Jon Anderson's high vocals combined with Bill Bruford's explosive drumming and Rick Wakeman's furious keyboard solos make a great combination. 4. Genesis -- Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett. End of story. 5. Steely Dan -- Donald Fagen and Walter Becker were pop sophistication geniuses, the music is menacing, brooding, subtly cynical, and sounds terrific through a good pair of speakers. 6. The Byrds -- Pioneers of folk-rock and of early psychedelia, two genres I love. Did for the U.S. what The Beatles did for England. 7. Weird Al Yankovic ...
With Coachella and Sasquatch! out of the way, Bonnaroo is the next lineup announcement on our radar. Weird Al Yankovic is set to rattle off this year's ar

Weird Al Yankovic still makes music... Just let that sink in.
Having recently listened to an old podcast of Marc Maron interviewing Weird Al Yankovic and discussing just how "uncool" it was to be stuck playing the accordion, I must say I was less than enthusiastic when The Montreal Sessions, an album from a group I had not heard of, the North American Jazz Alliance, a quintet featuring guitar, vibraphone and—you guessed it—accordion arrived in the mail. After all, the accordion isn't exactly a staple of the modern jazz ensemble and probably rarely if ever had been. Not that I had any special animus to the instrument, it simply wasn't on my radar. Accordions stir up visions of polkas and Italian weddings, not mellow jazz. Turns out, stereotyping musical instruments is no less useful than stereotyping people. The Montreal Sessions is old line mainstream jazz played with finesse, and rather than sticking out like the proverbial sore digit, the accordion fits right in. You listen and you have to wonder why it doesn't show up more often in modern ensembles. Indeed, i ...
