You know who else took tons of money from Wall Street in a presidential campaign? Barack Obama in 2008.
Today the Dow is at 17,515.` Wall Street provided an unwelcome reminder of the financial challenge facing Barack Obama as it marked the new president's inauguration with a Stock Market plunge led down by a renewed crisis of confidence in US banks. The Dow Jones Industrial Average suffered its worst one-day drop since December 1, slumping by 332 points to 7,949
Paris terror attacks: what the US no-show says about Barack Obama
POLITICS.IE Is Obama the Worst and Most Hated US President of all time? I find it very interesting that Barack Obama is held in utter contempt by both the left and the right of US politics. He is barely tolerated by the trendy liberal center, who mostly back him for his support for abortion. The right always hated him - probably for his African origin and his having gone to an Islamic school in Indonesia, where he went by the name Barry Soetoro. The left thought he was one of theirs, until they saw him placing Wall Street insiders in all positions of power in his administration, and when they realised that he was just as much a war-monger as Bush - perhaps a more dangerous one. His economic policy seems to be simply to prop up the wealth and privilege of the tiny US plutocracy, and to do this, he is willing to sacrifice the Working and Middle Classes. At first, black people took pride in the fact that a man that they considered one of themselves had been elected president. But, soon Obama was arming and f ...

Subject: Wall Street Sizes Up Obama A "deadly accurate" article regarding Obama, by the Wall Street Journal, which today is the most widely circulated newspaper in America. Written by Alan Caruba: "I have this theory about Barack Obama. I think he's led a kind of make-believe life in which money was provided and doors were opened because at some point early on somebody or some group (George Soros anybody?) took a look at this tall, good looking, half-white, half-black, young man with an exotic African/Muslim name and concluded he could be guided toward a life in politics where his facile speaking skills could even put him in the White House. In a very real way, he has been a young man in a very big hurry. Who else do you know has written two memoirs before the age of 45? "Dreams of My Father" was published in 1995 when he was only 34 years old. The "Audacity of Hope" followed in 2006. If, indeed, he did write them himself. There are some who think that his mentor and friend, Bill Ayers, a man who calls hi ...
Enlightening read! Wall Street Journal. Sept. 1, 2014 6:32 p.m. ET Obama's Curious Rage Calm when it comes to Putin, ISIS and Hamas, but furious with Israel. Barack Obama "has become 'enraged' at the Israeli government, both for its actions and for its treatment of his chief diplomat, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry. " So reports the Jerusalem Post, based on the testimony of Martin Indyk, until recently a special Middle East envoy for the president. The war in Gaza, Mr. Indyk adds, has had "a very negative impact" on Jerusalem's relations with Washington. Think about this. Enraged. Not "alarmed" or "concerned" or "irritated" or even "angered." Anger is a feeling. Rage is a frenzy. Anger passes. Rage feeds on itself. Anger is specific. Rage is obsessional, neurotic. And Mr. Obama—No Drama Obama, the president who prides himself on his cool, a man whose emotional detachment is said to explain his intellectual strength—is enraged. With Israel. Which has just been hit by several thousand unguided rock ...
Hit The Road, Barack By Niall Ferguson & Matt Patterson, Newsweek Opinion Writer. Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages. How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world's largest economy, direct the world's most powerful military, execute the world's most consequential job? Imagine a future historian examining Obama's pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League, despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a "community organizer;" a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, less often did he vote "present"); and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidenti ...
God bless Barack Obama for continuing the policies of G.W.Bush and *** Cheney: Unconstitutional executive orders, international war-crimes, gift-wrapped presents to Wall Street-backed insurance companies under the guise of healthcare reform , drone attacks on innocent foreign civilians, and now: MORE unilateral military action in Iraq. Keep it up Democrats and Republicans, you'll destroy us all much sooner than you know, THEN maybe we can start re-building something righteous. There is a TINY bit of hope in Cory Booker and Rand Paul. We'll see.
Two interesting facts about Senator Elizabeth Warren: she was the administrator in charge of handing out the bailout money from the Wall Street bailout to corporations, the first 350 billion of which she admitted they just gave to banks and had no idea what they did with it (see also: lost). She also supports reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank, a slush fund for crony corporations, which Barack Obama called "little more than a fund for Corporate Welfare."
Barack Obama- October 30, 2008 "After decades of broken politics in Washington, and eight years of failed policies from George W. Bush, and 21 months of a campaign that's taken us from the rocky coast of Maine to the sunshine of California, we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America. In five days, you can turn the page on policies that put greed and irresponsibility on Wall Street before the hard work and sacrifice of folks on Main Street. In five days, you can choose policies that invest in our Middle Class, and create new jobs, and grow this economy, so that everyone has a chance to succeed, not just the CEO, but the secretary and janitor, not just the factory owner, but the men and women on the factory floor. In five days, you can put an end to the politics that would divide a nation just to win an election, that tries to pit region against region, and city against town, and Republican against Democrat, that asks us to fear at a time when we need to hope." The Sun is Finally Setting on the Bankrupt British Empire The continued existence of sovereign nations around the planet demands, that we put an end to the British Empire once and for all, and move immediately, to impeach the Wall Street puppet Barack Obama from the White House, for working on behalf of the genocidal policy of the Queen and the City of London. The entire system of bailouts, quantitative easing, and outright thievery is unable to continue, and it is coming down, as economist Lyndon LaRouche warns, like an elevator at the 70th floor with the cables cut. They have only two options left on the table: trigger the global bail-in, or blow up the world in thermonuclear war. All sane American leaders have a moral responsibility, to preempt this crisis by intervening with real solutions. Under Title II of Obama’s Dodd-Frank Act, it is legal for the 27 banks deemed “Too Big To Fail” to seize your deposits outright. This has already happened on a minor scale, with nations like Cyprus and Greece ...

"By the middle of 2009, Barack Obama was no longer listening. He had already picked an economic team from among the Wall Street protégés of the Goldman Sachs executive and former economic adviser to the Clinton administration, Robert Rubin. . Obama’s (administration) has turned out to be the most secretive administration since that of Richard Nixon; and in its discouragement of press freedom by the prosecution of whistleblowers, it has surpassed all of its predecessors combined.

George Soros is making his move, tripling the amount of money he spent through his Open Society Policy Center and agreeing to co-chair the finance committee of the Ready for Hillary super PAC. That follows $100 million in spending on immigration reform, and many millions more to infiltrate higher education and sponsor groups dedicated to the destruction of the United States. Soros has donated 50 times more to universities than the combined donations of both Koch Brothers. We're fighting against George Soros and the ideology he represents, where America is destroyed from within through currency collapse and economic implosion so that our nation can be removed as an obstacle to Soros's ultimate goal: unfettered crony capitalism, the kind that got Soros convicted of insider trading in France in 2002. That's right: while Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama publicly castigate Wall Street, behind the scenes they're bankrolled by a man convicted of insider trading, and his wealthy cronies on Wall Street who receive ...
The Surrender of America’s Liberals February 25, 2014 In a Web-exclusive interview, political scientist Adolph Reed Jr. talks with Bill Moyers about his new article in the March issue of Harper’s Magazine – a challenge to America’s progressives provocatively titled, “Nothing Left: The Long, Slow Surrender of American Liberals.” In the piece, Reed writes that Democrats and liberals have become too fixated on election results rather than aiming for long term goals that address the issues of economic inequality, and that the administrations of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama too often acquiesced to the demands of Wall Street and the right. As a result, Reed tells Moyers, the left is no longer a significant force in American politics. “If we understand the left to be anchored to our convictions that society can be made better than it actually is, and a commitment to combating economic inequality as a primary one, the left is just gone.” Producer: Gail Ablow. Citizens Electoral Council of Australia Media Release Wednesday, 19 February 2014 Will the great democrat Michael Danby denounce the neo-Nazi upsurge in Ukraine? The Citizens Electoral Council has rushed to print its latest New Citizen newspaper, to expose to the Australian people that the protesters in Ukraine that the media paints as "democratic" are in fact hard core neo-Nazis, through which the British and Barack Obama are orchestrating a coup, aimed at militarily encircling Russia, which borders Ukraine. For Russia, already under threat from NATO’s expanding missile defence program and its pre-emptive nuclear strike doctrine, such a coup in Ukraine would be a cause for war, which, once started, would rapidly escalate into thermonuclear war. The sole cause of this world-threatening crisis is the strategy of the British financier oligarchy, whose modern empire is based in the bankrupt monetary centres of London and Wall Street, to consolidate a global financial dictatorship by pre-emptively targetin ...
Raynor Roberts stated: Barack Obama = Benedict Arnold Here's his defense of his statement. Raynor Roberts: A message to black folk who are Barack Obama supporters. Yesterday I created a simple post that read: Barack Obama = Benedict Arnold. I was surprised that I received more likes (although a small number) and only had 2 dissenting comments. One of which challenged me to refine my statement. Here is the explanation of the original post. Sometimes the most obvious facts must be stated in simple words. Let me retort in a more sophisticated manner. Politics by definition and action is a noun and verb which means to support and enhance one's own interests and agenda. This is what presidents do. Every president has use the bully pulpit to promote his interests and the more importantly the interests of his sponsors and supporters. Black folk have blindly supported Barack Obama. Where is the political capital we have gained from this support? Let us look at his major moves. The bail out of Wall Street. Nope… ...
Sometimes I think if Barack Obama was white, and if the GOP's politics actually entered the reality of the 21st century, would be seen as the greatest Republican president since that movie puppet GE corporate spokesmen they paraded around. He's hawkish on the Middle East but "calculated" (see: Afghanistan, Drone bombings, JSOC, Syria, etc). He's cozy with corporate America and wall street (see: his entire team). He believes in protecting America's interests and security before firmly protecting the rights of Americans (see: NSA, Eric Holder, B. Manning, Guantanamo). He's also for Gun Control, like Ronald Reagan. Who supported the Brady Bill and assault weapons ban after he left office. Reagan was of course almost assassinated in 1981 but remained mostly pro-gun until he left office. He's for *** rights. Which is suddenly becoming not so controversial with the Grand Ole Party. Funny how things could change so drastically with ones value system in just a few years. He's certainly a helluv a lot more rationa ...
It still boggles my mind that every time I walk into a Walmart there is an organization begging for money and donations right outside the entrance. A building that is owned by one of the richest familes in the world (due to 1990s trade agreements, (thank you Bill Clinton) yet they ask for poor and Middle Class families for help. Ronald Reagan de-regulated Wall Street, Bill Clinton passed awful trade agreements destroying the economy, George Bush got us into an unnecessary war that was never paid for and were still in debt over, and now Barack Obama is trying to fast track a New World trade agreement (TPP) that will put a hammer in the survival of the Middle Class, an agreement that Hillary Clinton supports (shocking, since her husband passed them). A woman I no longer support for President in 2016. Republican or Democrat, they're all in the pockets of Wall Street, paid for by them, and they pull their strings on what and what not to vote for. I can only imagine how this country will be 50 years from n ...
The plan explained “According to every internal document I’ve seen and read, and from the few people I’ve spoken with who understand what’s going on, preparations have been finalized to respond to a crisis of unprecedented magnitude within the United States. The response will include the use of lethal force against U.S. citizens under the instructions of Barack Obama.” But why? “‘It’s the economy, stupid,’” he began, paraphrasing a campaign slogan coined by James Carville for Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign. ”Just as I disclosed in our first meeting, the crisis will be rooted in an Economic Collapse. I told you last year, at a time when gold and silver were setting record highs, one specific indicator that time is very short. It is the final ‘smack down’ of the metals, gold and silver, that will presage the orchestrated Economic Collapse that is being planned by the bankers of Wall Street. Everybody needs to understand that this is a deliberate collapse of the U.S. economy with th ...
On 30 November 2013, National Review bannered "Hillary Clinton's Lucrative Goldman Sachs Speaking Gigs," and reported that, "Hillary Clinton spoke at two separate Goldman Sachs events on the evenings of Thursday, October 24 and Tuesday October 29. ... Clinton's fee is about $200,000 per speech. ... Clinton also made visits to private-equity firms KKR in July, and the Carlyle Group in September." Ben White and Maggie Haberman issued a major story in Politico Magazine on 11 December 2013, "Lament of the Plutocrats," which described the sour attitude of Wall Street's titans toward almost all of the Democratic Party, and toward the social conservatives who voted in the Republican Party's primaries. These elite men found Barack Obama to be insufficiently deferential toward them in private, and even critical of them in public. They were especially outraged at his having slammed "fat cat bankers" in a 13 December 2009 "60 Minutes" interview with CBS' Steve Kroft. This public statement turned thes ...
Nelson Mandela Memorial Service The historical handshake between Barack Obama and Raul Castro. The first time since the 60s that any Cuban or American head of state have attended a global-gathering. These two nations have been at loggerheads for more than half a century. I’m looking at the Obama-Castro handshake from every angle…….. sorry peoplezz but in relation to the Obama deception today, he couldn’t even look Raul Castro in the eye. There are too many who claim solidarity with Nelson Mandela struggle for freedom, but do not endure or practise what they preach. Mainstream media will paint the illusion tonight of President Obama being the next heir to Nelson Mandela / Martin Luther King’s legacy of anti-colonialism. Yet if Obama had a theme at all he’s a puppet for the White House, Hollywood, Wall Street, and the Zionists.
this is interesting, from the Wall Street Journal: If conservative principles are the problem, then why are so many Republicans in office who campaigned on them? By Scott Walker Nov. 21, 2013 6:52 p.m. ET In the wake of the 2012 elections, Republicans are being warned once again that they need to compromise their principles to win at the ballot box. That the only way to win the center is to move to the center. If this were true, Barack Obama would not be president today—and I would not be governor of Wisconsin. When I was first elected as Milwaukee County Executive in 2002, pundits said it was a fluke—a Republican elected in a heavily Democratic district in a special election in the wake of a political scandal. To stay in the job, they said, I would have to move to the middle. Instead, I governed as a conservative reformer and won three consecutive elections as county executive, each one by bigger margins. The last one, in 2008, was especially noteworthy. Mr. Obama won Milwaukee County with 67.5% of t ...
Democrats Panic Over ObamaCare On Friday, the House of Representatives voted 261-157 in favor of the "Keep Your Health Plan Act," authored by Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI). Some 39 Democrats joined all Republicans in voting yes just a day after Barack Obama announced his own unilateral and illegal "fix" for his ailing law. The Wall Street Journal summarized Upton's bill:"The one-page bill would allow insurers to continue offering for sale in 2014 the policies that ObamaCare terminated, exempting them from federal regulatory edicts." However, because insurance companies have spent the last three and a half years working to comply with ObamaCare regulations, Upton's bill is unlikely to actually save many plans. Such is the nature of Obama's "you can keep your plan" lie. By contrast, Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) offered her own version of a "keep your plan" bill in the Senate. In this case, the Journal writes, Landrieu's bill "would order insurers to continue to offer the dumped plans that in many cases no longer exis ...
It's all about money! the democrats are stealing the USA blind , Al Gore knows all the angles ! On Tuesday, Government Accountability Institute (GAI) President and Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer appeared on Fox & Friends and revealed that former Vice President Al Gore and other Obama cronies are cashing in on the Obamacare debacle. In 2004, David Blood and former Vice President Al Gore co-founded Generation Investment Management. Schweizer says despite the perception that Gore’s investments are all green energy-related, Blood and Gore’s investment portfolio is currently comprised of 27% Health Care investments and stands poised to score big from Obamacare. “David Blood was a bundler for Barack Obama,” said Schweizer. “Even though they talk about being in green technology, 27% of their investment portfolio right now is in health insurance companies designed to profit from this sector.” Blood bundled over $500,000 in campaign donations for Obama in 2012. Schweizer, whose n ...
The last days of empire are carnivals of folly. We are in the midst of our own, plunging forward as our leaders court willful economic and environmental self-destruction. Sumer and Rome went down like this. So did the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian empires. Men and women of stunning mediocrity and depravity led the monarchies of Europe and Russia on the eve of World War I. And America has, in its own decline, offered up its share of weaklings, dolts and morons to steer it to destruction. A nation that was still rooted in reality would never glorify charlatans such as Sen. Ted Cruz, House Speaker John Boehner and former Speaker Newt Gingrich as they pollute the airwaves. If we had any idea what was really happening to us we would have turned in fury against Barack Obama, whose signature legacy will be utter capitulation to the demands of Wall Street, the fossil fuel industry, the military-industrial complex and the security and surveillance state. We would have rallied behind those few, such as Ralph Nader, ...
Dodd-Frank Act Hammering Low-Income Americans The Dodd-Frank Act was designed to reform Wall Street and protect consumers, but in fact it is making lower-income Americans worse off financially and cutting them off from traditional banking services. "Dodd-Frank punished Wall Street at the poor's expense, turning mainstream banking into a luxury available only for the Middle Class and rich," says Abby McCloskey, program director of economic policy at the American Enterprise Institute. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, signed into law by President Barack Obama in July 2010 in response to the late-2000s recession, made changes in the regulatory environment that affect almost every part of the nation's financial services industry. It is estimated to cost the eight largest banks alone up to $34 billion a year. Those costs are passed along to consumers. As banks "hunker down amid Dodd-Frank uncertainty, they have cut $70 billion in credit cards in three years," McCloskey writes in Fo ...
Interesting and enlightening if true. In his memoir, Barack Obama omits the full name of his mentor, simply calling him “Frank.” Now, the truth is out: Never has a figure as deeply troubling and controversial as Frank Marshall Davis had such an impact on the development of an American President. Although other radical influences on Obama, from Jeremiah Wright to Bill Ayers, have been scrutinized, the public knows little about Davis, a card-carrying member of the Communist Party USA, cited by the Associated Press as an “important influence” on Obama, one whom he “looked to” not merely for “advice on living” but as a “father” figure. While the Left has willingly dismissed Davis (with good reason), here are the indisputable, eye-opening facts: Frank Marshall Davis was a pro-Soviet, pro–Red China communist. His Communist Party USA card number, revealed in FBI files, was CP He was a prototype of the loyal Soviet patriot, so radical that the FBI placed him on the federal government’s Sec ...
The Federal Reserve has become what the Banksters of Wall Street had tried to create for themselves as a backstop designed not to be recognized as implying the need for a bailout, but a financial industry Master Liquidity Enhancement Conduit in the knowledge back in 2007 that the "Black Swan" was about to visit. Under Chairman Bernanke, and with the connivance of Barack Obama and Tim Geithner the Federal Reserve has become that MLEC to the private sector. Since 2009 the Federal Reserve by bond purchases and with the approval of a compliant Obama Administration has distributed 13 trillion dollars to the Financial Sector and the Global Economy (particularly Emerging Markets) through the agency of the Federal Reserve as a Liquidity Conduit, and away from the real economy where real people are stagnating or going under. Liberal and so called Progressive legislators have seen this scam, which has transpired in the full light of day, and they have done nothing! Keyser is right this is not incompetence at all. I ...
Wall Street and the FED Want to Kill You with Hyperinflation The constantly repeated claims of Ben Bernanke's Fed governors that "inflation is contained, we can go on with QE", are not only lies, they are killer lies. American households have been suffering inflation bordering on hyperinflation since the destruction of Glass-Steagall in 1999 and the British-Saudi run terror attack of 9/11/2001. The Federal Reserve's runaway money-printing policy since 2009, obsessed with saving the Wall Street banks, has pushed this murderous inflation upward. The LaRouchePAC National Policy Committee has recently surveyed the price data on many items of routine and unavoidable household expenditures, as published by various U.S. government agencies, during the misfortunate presidencies of George W. Bush and Barack Obama to date, in order to determine this accelerating inflation. It has {not} accepted the so-called "real" or "inflation-adjusted" income measure published by the government and Fed, however, as these are not ...
$5.25 Million For Senate Hair Care And 21 Other Ways Politicians Are Living The High Life At Your Expense Posted on September 25, 2013 by rbeason Barack Obama John Boehner Nancy Pelosi Harry Reid Mitch McConnellThe Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder If you want to live the high life, you don’t have to become a rap star, a professional athlete or a Wall Street banker. All it really takes is winning an election. Right now, more than half of all the members of Congress are millionaires, and most of them leave “public service” far wealthier than when they entered it. Since most of them have so much money, you would think that they would be willing to do a little “belt-tightening” for the sake of the American people. After all, things are supposedly “extremely tight” in Washington D.C. right now. In fact, just the other day Nancy Pelosi insisted that there were “no more cuts to make” to the federal budget. But even as they claim that things are so tough right now, our politicians c ...
Notes from “The Time And What Must Be Done” No. 60 Who is surrounding “our president” Barack Obama Look who is around our president, Barack Obama, oh my goodness I think we have to put this list up I will just read a few: Rahm Emanuel, who is now mayor of Chicago, was the White House Chief of Staff. Joe Biden, a self-proclaimed Zionist who stated about Iran, “Israel can determine for itself—it’s a sovereign nation…” Ron Klain, Chief of Staff to the Vice President. Mona Sutphen, Deputy White House Chief of Staff and 2nd behind Rahm Emanuel. David Axelrod, Special Adviser to the President. Tim Geithner, Treasury Secretary, former President of the New York Federal Reserve Bank [“The Fed”]. On Liberty and Freedom As we approach the 100 year anniversary of the creation of the Federal Reserve, it is absolutely imperative that we get the American people to understand that the Fed is at the very heart of our economic problems. It is a system of money that was created by the bankers and that operates for the benefit of the bankers. The American people like to think that we have a “democratic system”, but there is nothing “democratic” about the Federal Reserve. Unelected, unaccountable central planners from a private Central Bank run our financial system and manage our economy. There is a reason why financial markets respond with a yawn when Barack Obama says something about the economy, but they swing wildly whenever Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke opens his mouth. The Federal Reserve has far more power over the U.S. economy than anyone else does by a huge margin. The Fed is the biggest Ponzi scheme in the history of the world, and if the American people truly understood how it real ...

Barack Obama: The Master of Deceit By Prof. James Petras From the beginning of his Presidential campaign, Obama demonstrated his proficiency as the master of all cons. He spoke passionately against torture while consulting with the torturers; he condemned Wall Street speculators while appointing key Street operatives as economic advisers. He promised a new deal in the Middle East , especially for Palestinians and then appointed a dual citizen, Israeli-US, Rahm Emmanuel (son of an Israeli Irgun terrorist) to be his most intimate Presidential advisor. Honolulu born and bred, Barack modulated his voice according to the audience, adopting a Baptist minister’s cadence for the black audiences while assuming the professorial tone of an Ivy League lawyer for his Wall Street contributors. He hob-knobbed with Hollywood celebrities and Silicon billionaires, who bankrolled the fairy tale of his ‘historic breakthrough’ – the First Afro-American President who would speak for all Americans – nay for the entire ...
Dear Friends on Barack OBama The US Thug... Friday, the Washington Post revealed that federal prosecutors have charged Edward Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor behind a series of revelations about the agency's intelligence-gathering operations, with espionage. As a state senator, Barack Obama made a name for himself as a defender of whistleblowers. And during the 2008 campaign he pledged that his administration would protect those who speak out against government abuse, arguing that their "acts of courage and patriotism, which can sometimes save lives and often save taxpayer dollars, should be encouraged rather than stifled." But as president, Obama has aggressively prosecuted government officials who have disclosed classified information to the media, and has used the 1917 Espionage Act to pursue leakers more frequently than all previous presidents combined. Snowden, in fact, will be the seventh person indicted under the act during the Obama Administration. Here's a quick rundown of ...
Recall the halcyon days of 2008 and 2009 when Barack Obama promised, "If you already have health insurance, the only thing that will change for you under this plan is the amount of money you will spend on premiums. That will be less." Good times, good times. Along with just about every other lofty promise that came with the UnAffordable Care Act, this one has come crashing back to earth. A recent California report on premiums in the Golden State seemed to show that costs would be lower than expected. Actually, the truth is that premiums will cost as much as 146 percent more than today. The reason is that California, as The Wall Street Journal put it, "goosed the data" and "wasn't comparing apples to apples." Meanwhile, the IRS issued a final ObamaCare regulation last week that assumes that the cheapest family health insurance plan will cost $20,000 a year by 2016. And the House Energy and Commerce Committee just published a report called "The Looming Premium Rate Shock" detailing that some premiums could ...

The Inter-Mountain: Scandals distract from reality : "During the past four months, the press has been interested in titillating controversies from Benghazi to the Internal Revenue Service. Many of these have been diluted steadily either by Republican overstatement or the media's tendency to blow up petty matters and make them seem larger. From the bloviating Carl Bernstein to the stern schoolmaster George Will, there has been a failed attempt to stir up coals to start major fires. At the end of Barack Obama's alleged "worst week," his approval rating stood at 53 percent favorable. What was missed was that the deficit has declined from 10 percent in 2010 to 7 percent in 2011 down to 4 percent of Gross Domestic Product. Unemployment has steadily been reduced and the Stock Market has been in record territory. Senate Democrats prepare government funding bill WASHINGTON (AP) -- Senate Democrats are preparing a catchall government funding bill that denies President Barack Obama money for implementing signature first-term accomplishments like new regulations on Wall Street and his expansion of government Health Care subsidies but provides modest additional funding for domestic priorities like health research. The measure expected to be released Monday is the product of bipartisan negotiations and is the legislative vehicle to fund the day-to-day operations of government through Sept. 30 - and prevent a government shutdown when current funding runs out March 27. Passage in the Senate this week would presage an end to a mostly overlooked battle... ~GeeK3r
The best place to look for evidence is the government records and files. You will find things tht the news deliberately overlooks and even covers up. Here are the top 10 felons deeply associated with Barack Obama. 1. Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich: Sentenced to 14 years in prison for political corruption. 2. Tony Rezko: Sentenced to 10 and a half years for corruption and kickbacks. 3. Courtney Dupree: Democratic fundraiser convicted of bank fraud. 4. Willie Shepherd: Obama bundler plead guilty to assault. 5. John Corzine: Top Obama fundraiser currently under FBI investigation. Obama's "Wall Street guy." 6. Shervin Neman: Obama bundler currently under investigation for fraud. 7. Abake Assongba: Obama bundler under investigation for fraud. 8. Alberto and Carlos Cardona: Obama bundlers with ties to a Mexican fugitive accused of attempted assassinations. 9. Solyndra: First company to receive taxpayer backed loans from Obama. Solyndra's investors are Obama bundlers. The FBI raided Solyndra last Sept ...

Le Monde Diplo Occupy Wall Street and its evil twin, the Tea Party. Yes, but what are you for? by Thomas Frank Reading all the accounts of Occupy Wall Street's theorising in Zuccotti Park can send you to sleep: all academic prose and no real world action or demands. They also make explicit Occupy's resemblance to its enemy, the Tea Party. There is a scene I always recall when I try to remember the exhilarating effect that Occupy Wall Street (OWS) had on me when it was first getting going. I was on a subway train in Washington, DC, reading an article about the protests in Zuccotti Park in Manhattan. It was three years after the Wall Street bailouts. It was two years after everyone I knew had given up hope in the creativity of Barack Obama. It was two months after the bankers' friends in the Republican Party had pushed the country right to the brink of default in order to underscore their hallucinatory economic theories. Like Everyone Else, I had had enough. Anyhow, the subway car was boarded by some perfec ...
As I write this blog I am overjoyed and even more optimistic than I was four years ago. Of course I was not awake during Obama’s second inauguration. The life of a DJ/performer is not that of a morning person. But I was smart enough to DVR it.   In my life time, I have witnessed many moments in history. Watergate, Grace Jones making her debut on the Merv Griffin Show, the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan, the day that Martin Luther King Day went into law, the Challenger disaster, Michael Jackson being rushed to the hospital after catching fire during a Pepsi Commercial, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the first attempt to blow up the World Trade Center, O.J. Simpson  acquitted, Princess Diana’s death, the Monica Lewinsky Scandal, Columbine, 9-11, George W. Bush announced as the winner in 2004, Hurricane Katrina, the Wall Street collapse, Barack Obama announced as the 44th President of the United States and too many others to name. The world would never be the same. But after watching the inaugura ...
Barack Obama vilifies both “Wall Street speculators "who pay themselves big bonuses when times are bad" and the greedy top Two Percenters who do not pay “their fair share" by exploiting tax loopholes. "THE COLONIZED MIND" BY FREE "We were held at a facility, especially created for detaining protesters at the debates. It appeared to be a warehouse which had been specially equipped. It was obviously—you know, they were prepared to handle a lot of people. They had 13 officers there and three plainclothesmen. For most of the time, it was just Cheri Honkala and myself, yet they felt the need to keep us in tight plastic restraints, tightly secured to metal chairs... it was about eight hours" (-Jill Stein, speaking to Amy Goodman) "I lose no opportunity publicly to identify Obama as a tool of Wall Street, a man who’s decriminalized torture and is still complicit in it, a drone assassin, someone who’s launched an unconstitutional war, supports kidnapping and indefinite detention without trial, and has prosecuted more whistleblowers like myself than all previous presidents put together. It’s entirely appropriate to be enraged at Barack Obama. As I am. He has often acted outrageously, not merely timidly . ...
Don’t You Dare Conflate MLK and Obama If Dr. King were alive today, there might be a Black president, but he or she would certainly not get MLK’s support if he behaved like Barack Obama. Dr. King would oppose Obama’s wars, “make Wall Street scream, and attempt to render the nation ungovernable under the dictatorship of the Lords of Capital.” Don’t You Dare Conflate MLK and Obama by BAR executive editor Glen Ford “Had King survived, his break with Obama would have come early.” Back in 1964, under prodding from a BBC interviewer, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. predicted that a Black person might be elected president “in 25 years or less.” Four years later, shortly before his assassination, King confided to actor/activist Harry Belafonte that he had “come to believe we're integrating into a burning house." We now see that the two notions are not at all contradictory. At least some African Americans have achieved deep penetration of the very pinnacles of white power structures – integratin ...
There are some people both Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama cannot abide. The former, having watched the oligarchs that are not in prison or who died under *** circumstances flee to London or New York, is now offering portly French actors a passport and a place in frozen storage. The latter inveighs against Wall Street, bankers and highly paid executives and uses a fiscal billy-club to push for higher taxes. The objects of concern for both political leaders are their wealthiest residents – the sort of people for whom $1000 is the equivalent of a shoeshine tip – today’s so-called “plutocrats.” Chrystia Freeland, the former U.S. managing editor of the Financial Times, and a longtime observer of the forums and conferences to which the private Bombardiers, Boeings and Gulfstreams migrate, has just written, Plutocrats: The Rise of the New Global Super-Rich and the Fall of Everyone Else which, as its title suggests, is not about the emergence of the modern lettuce picker. Freeland feels that “today . ...
President Barack Obama on Thursday nominated White House Chief of Staff and "Wall Street insider" Jack Lew to become the next Treasury Secretary, succeeding Timothy Geithner—a move that ensures Wall Street interests will continue to be prioritized over those of the American public, critics warn.
Obama 2012 Second Term Inauguration To Cost Taxpayers $100 Million DECEMBER 9, 2012 11:00 PM0 COMMENTSVIEWS: 189 In light of the bad economic times we are facing as a nation, coupled with the looming fiscal cliff and the enormous $16 trillion national debt, plus when you add how President Obama spent the last 4 years campaigning around the country bashing the wealthy, fat cat bankers, Wall Street executives and anyone making over $250,000 a year, it is rather stunning to know that he will allow $100 million of taxpayer's money to be spent on his second inauguration. I don't know about you, but we here at IsThatBaloney.com see almost nothing but utter hypocrisy from this president. Is there nothing Barack Obama won't spend money on? From his 4 years of campaigning for his second term in office, to his lavish family vacations at taxpayer's expense, to Michelle's equally lavish taxpayer funded vacations, to his foreign aid even to enemies of the United States (the Muslim Brotherhood backed Mohammed Morsi in ...
Considering Fast Methods In The Mendacity of Hope: Barack Obama and the Betrayal of American Liberalism Americans find themselves in genuine confusion and dismay concerning the actions of President Obama's administration, especially when it comes to the financial crisis and Health Care. Obama's reform packages, passed with great fanfare, ignore the most significant perils facing the United States. In The Mendacity of Hope, Roger D. Hodge makes the provocative case that substantive reform was never even on the table. Behind the euphoria of Obama's victory was in fact a business-as-usual corporate machine, a bloc of political investors, campaign contributors, and lobbyists expecting big returns on their investments. And what a return they have received: in one bailout after another, for the health insurance industry as well as for Wall Street, Obama made sure that the Democratic Party's most powerful investors made out like bandits. None of Obama's most important campaign promises - ending the Iraq war, abo ...
Alan Maki is a Minnesota labor leader. When "The Nation” wrote an article, "How to Save the Democratic Party” below was his response. He also responded specifically to Congressman Keith Ellison. Why would anyone want to save the Democratic Party when what we need is a new political party similar to Canada's New Democratic Party? What a cast of characters writing here with most seeking a partnership in Wall Street's government rather than challenging Wall Street for political and economic power by building an anti-monopoly coalition party. Had McGovern supporters actually taken control of the Democratic Party he would have won but control remained in the hands of the corporate wing. Specifics have been evaded in the main essay and most of the comments. We can see from the struggles in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio and now Michigan with Right-to-Work-for-Less what is wrong. The problem is in misleading and confusing people to think they can convince Democrats to defend our rights and standard of living ...
Barack Obama as sworn in as president on January 20th, 2009. He took office in the middle of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, at a time when our economy was losing 800,000 jobs a month. He acted immediately to get our economy back on track. Today, the private sector has added back more than 5 million jobs. There’s more work to do, but we’re on the right track. In his first term, the President passed the landmark Affordable Care Act, helping to put quality Health Care within reach for more Americans. He ended the war in Iraq and is working to responsibly end the war in Afghanistan, passed historic Wall Street Reform to make sure taxpayers never again have to bail out big banks, and cut taxes for every American worker—putting $3,600 back in the pockets of the typical family. He’s fought for equal rights and a woman’s right to make her own health decisions. And he’s made a college education more affordable for millions of students and their families. -briana

When U.S. voters elected Barack Obama president in November 2008, many of us were convinced he would make a top priority of reforming Wall Street, which had just almost succeeded in bringing down our way of life through greed and lack of accountability. Despite the fact that Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS), JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) and Citigroup Inc. (C) were among Obama’s top 10 financial backers in 2008, we were hopeful we would see a change in the system whereby bankers, traders and executives were rewarded every day to take huge, asynchronous risks with other people’s money. We also believed that Obama wouldn’t succumb to the backroom maneuverings of the plutocrats and behind-the-scenes money men -- such as former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin and former Deputy Secretary Roger Altman -- who were busy advocating a quick return to the status quo and looking to move their friends into positions of great importance in Obama’s Cabinet. It turned out we were either naive or stupid to think that wh ...
"For a snapshot of how little has changed, one need look no further than a remarkable Usa Today article published Thursday: “5 Things Obama Must Do to Please Wall Street.” Let’s just stop and savor that headline a moment, before getting to the details. Two days after Barack Obama won a convincing reelection victory, becoming the first president since Ronald Reagan to gain more than 50 percent of the popular vote in two elections, overcoming the enormous sums Wall Street spent to defeat him, Usa Today manages to publish an article suggesting it is Obama who must change his ways to please Wall Street, and not the other way around. So what’s he supposed to do? 1) “Get a fiscal cliff deal done.” Well sure, that’s undoubtedly his No. 1 priority, and rightly so. But one would think that perhaps some of the responsibility for getting a deal done should be shouldered by the House Republicans. We know Obama is willing to compromise. But what evidence do we have that House Republicans own a dictionary ...
Jennifer L. Pozner transcribed this awesome adaptation of Good Night Moon by W. Kamau Bell. He did it on his show Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell tonight. LOVE. Thanks Jen! In the TV studio there were pundits galore wondering if Barack Obama would get four years more Everyone was watching with much surprise even Michelle Bachmann and her crazy eyes. Chris Matthews was tense his face had turned pink. And poor Al Sharpton continued to shrink. The election is over it was quite a fight. But now it's time to say, "Good night." Some post-election thoughts: The overwhelming victory of Barack Obama in the last presidential election should not come as a surprise to the Republican Party. The GOP has adopted economic and social radicalism that turns away the rational voters. The concept of revenue generating by strict tax (and spending) cuts is economic radicalism. To let the "Invisible Hand" take care of a financial crisis may work in economics theory, but such approach results in dire consequences to real people, who are also real voters. Thus, to refuse to bail out the auto industry and let it try to save itself during the financial crisis may have some merit to the Miltonian economist, but such merit is meaningless to the workers whose jobs depend on the immediate survival of the industry. Those workers are also voters. To privatize Social Security and Medicare may be a good business strategy to Wall Street, but to the beneficiaries of those programs, it's only speculating with the financial source they rely on to survive during ...
UPDATE: *** Marriage Advocates Win Major Victory BLOG POSTS Howard Fineman: Barack Obama Reelection Signals Rise Of New America Barack Obama won because of his stand on the issues -- Health Care reform, Wall Street regulation, the auto industry bailout, among others. But his victory is something more: a sense that we are all in this together as a society, no matter who we are or how we live our lives. I saw this new America at the heart of the Obama reelection effort, in their campaign offices. In one office in Virgina, for example, the local campaign manager was Pakistani-American, the volunteers were of every race and background, the people heading out to handle the signup drive were Hispanic, and the event they were working on was a concert by Bruce Springsteen. Linda Bergthold: Got Nails? Now What Happens to Obamacare? The nail biting is over. For those who hoped that a President Romney could repeal Obamacare on "Day One," sorry -- when he lost, you lost. But now that Obama has been re-elected, what m ...
This Is the Worst Election for Wall Street in Decades by Tim Fernholz at the Atlantic Clinton and George W. Bush pursued financial de-regulation, Barack Obama bailed out Wall Street in 2008, and 2010 brought in a much more bank-friendly Congress. But 2012? Well, so far, Elizabeth Warren, the Harvard academic and financial regulator, is projected to be elected to the Senate from Massachusetts. That august body filibustered her appointment to run the Consumer Financial Protection Agency, the newly-created bank watchdog that she essentially invented, so now she's now joining the old boys club. Expect her to be a major voice on financial rules, whether or not she ends up on the Senate Banking Committee. And though she worked briefly for President Obama, she's an Equal Opportunity populist: As the chair of the committee that oversaw the TARP bailouts, she had plenty of harsh words for Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner. Another major critic of the banks, controversial Democratic Representative Alan Grayson ...
I feel great relief (not to be confused with joy) that Barack Obama was re-elected, even with Wall Street and political leaders' hand-wringing, anal concerns regarding a U.S. "fiscal cliff" (see story, above) that, as this story now suggests, today is reaching across the North Atlantic. My conviction remains that a global Economic Collapse is not just inevitable, but it's locked and loaded -- and coming soon to a country near you. It's going to be a really unconventional collapse, though, because nobody's "money" ever had any inherent value to begin with. World economies are contrivances with no real foundational support (gold begets only ugly dentifrice) -- and were America simply to delete its federal debts, repercussions might be minimal: nothing from nothing equals nothing (our "debts" to the Chinese notwithstanding). Regardless, last night's election was critical in this active process, because whatever is coming, spewing whatever nastiness it's going to spew, Obama will prove himself to be not only ...
We saw a history change four years ago with the election of Barack Obama. We have listened for two years about his supposed failures. Now let's all tell the truth and celebrate the amazing changes he has brought to the country: student loans, Health Care reform, don't ask don't tell, growth on Wall Street, the Lilly Ledbetter act. Credit card reform the auto bailout. Wow to think those are failures I hope I can achieve even a quarter of that level of failure. GREAT VICTORY FOR US ALL
Reposted - so true sadly: a letter from Michael Moore Monday, November 5th, 2012 Friends, Tomorrow, the bankers and corporate chiefs are planning an historic victory party. With the election of Mitt Romney, their takeover of American democracy would be complete. They thought they had accomplished that four years ago when they backed Barack Obama (he received more money from Wall Street than McCain; Goldman Sachs was his private contributor). And even though he never put a single one of them of any consequence in jail and never signed any bill that would truly stop their out-of-control greed; and even though he placed two of Wall Street's favorite operatives – Timothy Geithner and Lawrence Summers – in charge of the Treasury and economic policy; and even though he let them use bailout money – our money – to give themselves lavish bonuses after they wrecked our economy; and even though he didn't go for a single-payer Health Care system and made sure that under "Obamacare" no insurance company woul ...
"As I have noted in previous columns, the differences between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama are miniscule on virtually every salient issue. They both supported TARP; they both supported Obama’s economic stimulus package; they both supported so-called assault weapons bans and other Gun Control measures; Obama has an “F” rating from Gun Owners of America, while Romney has a “D-” rating from GOA; neither man supports a balanced budget; neither man opposes foreign aid; they both supported the bailout of the auto industry; they both have a track record of being big spenders; they both fully support the Federal Reserve; they both oppose a full audit of the Fed; they are both supporters of Universal Health Care; both men are showered with campaign contributions from Wall Street; neither of them wants to eliminate the IRS or the direct income tax; both men are on record as saying the TSA is doing a “great job”; they both supported the NDAA, including the indefinite detention of American citizens with ...
I realize that I will probably be unfriended by some of my right wing friends and family by posting this, but I think it's very important, so here it goes. When you are standing there in the voting booth tomorrow about to cast your vote, please consider voting for Barack Obama. If Mitt Romney gets into office he will be bringing with him the policies of not just himself, (whatever they may be that day) but the policies of all the crazy, ignorant, hate spewing Racist, Tea bagger, war mongering, Evangelical Zealots that have taken over the Republican Party. People like Todd Akin, Richard Murdock, Pat Robertson, Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh Ann Coulter, Donald Trump, Rick Santorum and most importantly, George W. Bush. Since 2010, when the Republican Party took control of congress, they have done everything in their power to destroy the Middle Class by blocking: the Wall Street Reform bill, Unemployment extension bill, Healthcare for 911 responders, a bill to raise taxes on companie ...
Plans for Obama's second term: Valerie Jarret – “After We Win This Election, It’s Our Turn. Payback Time.” (WSI) by Ulsterman on November 1, 2012 with 71 Comments in News Openly declared as “Obama’s Brain”, and the figure whose second story West Wing office has been described by political insiders as the true Oval Office of the Obama White House, Valerie Jarrett is letting it be known that if Barack Obama secures election victory next week, there may be, quite literally, *** to pay for those who opposed him. ( “After we win this election, it’s our turn. Payback time.” ) _ NOTE: This update was forwarded to me by Wall Street Insider who indicated they received it this morning via a direct source associated with Barack Obama’s campaign headquarters in Chicago. _ Thought you would be very interested to hear of this. It appears this Jarrett creature is quite confident of a victory, and has every intention of making those who opposed her, and her boy, of paying dearly for their seemin ...
Five Reasons You Shouldn’t Vote for Barack Obama 1.Barack Obama is a corporate suck-up. The President’s a member of the Democratic Party, which, like the Republican Party, consists of Washington *** working for their Wall Street pimps. 2.Barack Obama unleashed unchecked military powers. He signed the National Defense Authorization Act of 2010, which for the first time in history permits the government to assassinate American citizens abroad, to hold citizens and foreigners without charge indefinitely in and outside the U.S. 3.Barack Obama said “to *** with your tired, your poor, and your huddled masses.” He deported more human beings, most of whom were brown and black, than any other president in American History. In 2011, he broke his own 2010 record of 392,862 when he kicked 396,906 men, women and children out of the country. 4.His Justice Department, using national security claims and the Espionage Act of 1917 as pretexts, has prosecuted more whistleblowers like Thomas Drake and John Kiriak ...

Do not forget to Vote for Elizabeth Warren for US Senate in MA and Barack Obama for President on this Tuesday November 6th 2012 at your polls from 7am-8pm. To find out where you vote go to
With the Election just days away, I have one last thought for everyone. We haven't had a "REAL" President since John F. Kennedy. He tried to do the right thing in killing the Federal Reserve ("Central Bank") and was assassinated for it. If you look at History, almost every President that tried to "KILL" the Central Bank was assassinated. I guess it really doesn't matter about the election because the President is just a "PUPPET" for the Global Government. The only way this will change is if America wakes up and says "OH *** NO", otherwise it doesn't matter. THEY are trying to destroy our country, the reason Barack Obama is President is because "THEY" needed a face lift! Africa is next, hence the Black American President. Don't believe me, check this out: Everyone of Obama's CZars and staff are members of 1) the BILDERBERG GROUP, 20 The TRILATERAL GROUP, 3) the Council on Foreign Relations and last but, not least Wall Street! Look it up America, we are being manipulated by people that are not even America ...
Colin Powell is probably the most respected Republican alive today... and a week ago on Thursday he endorsed Barack Obama for President. Colin Powell is a man of integrity... who knows both candidates personally... and obviously he is someone who places the interests of his country before his political party affiliation. We need more men like him who are willing to work together across party lines in public service to our country. Instead for the past 4 years we got the RNC and the "Party of No" who vowed to see that our President fails ... and by default... to hurt our economic recovery from a collapse caused by Wall Street greed... two wars... and tax cuts... all of which added to our National deficit because they were not paid for by Congress. This is what hurt Middle Class families the most. I voted for President Obama because he has worked hard to fix the mess that he inherited from selfish people. President Obama saved hundreds of thousands of jobs in the Auto Industry and related businesses He ...
Even more reason not to vote for Romney: Taken from ElectoralVote.com: "Forget the Middle Class, It's Elite vs. Elite While all the television ads are about the Middle Class and who loves it more, the reality is a bit different. As Deepthroat told reporter Bob Woodward some 40 years ago: "Follow the money." In 2008, Wall Street bankers were divided between John Mccain and Barack Obama, but this year they have come down clearly on the side of Mitt Romney. The five biggest sources of donations to Romney's campaign this year are Goldman Sachs, Bank Of America, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, and Wells Fargo, all giant financial institutions that recognize Romney as one of their own. Clearly an elite group if ever there was one. How does Obama compete with these financial powerhouses? He does get small donations, but he has his own elite team as well. His consists of people from the tech sector, government, and universities. His five biggest donors are the University of California, Microsoft, Google, governmen ...
With only four days left to Election Day in the United States and efforts underway to clean up damage done by disastrous super storm Sandy, presidential candidates Barack Obama and Mitt Romney boosted their campaign efforts in battleground states as polls currently show them tied at 49-49. The hurricane, which left at least 54 dead and millions without power along the East Coast, is still the top issue in the U.S. with estimations it will have an effect on the Nov. 6 poll results. Obama’s decision to suspend his election campaign for three days while Romney was driving a full-speed blitz in Florida and in other swing states worked well for the president, according to an ABC poll showing nearly 75 percent of respondents believed Obama handled the storm positively. Another advantage for Obama was his close cooperation with the Republican governor of New Jersey Chris Christie, proving his bipartisanship even in the closing days of a heated campaign. Christie and many other Republicans praised Obama for his ...

Wall Street does not donate to Barack Obama like it used to, and this striking month-by-month comparison chart from Center for Responsive Politics shows just how much its fallen out of love with the president since the last election.
We live in the era of Lance Armstrong, Bernie Madoff, Mitt Romney, Barack Obama & Wall Street bailouts.
In reality, Obama is all about his hero Reagan's trickle-down ideology - bail out the car companies, bail out the big banks and Wall Street, while ignoring the travails of the working people, and while continuing to murder overseas with his unmanned drones, while joking about them at White House Press Dinners. Obama is a thug. He'll say anything, hire the best ad agencies, even get his fundrais er dinner buddies like Affleck and Clooney to MAKE A MOVIE to drum up support for another unjustified war against non-existent WMDs. and check out Joe Klein's defense of Obama murder policy. More of the inhumane world of Barack Obama. Reflecting the Obama legacy and US culture, the Time columnist says: “the bottom line is: ‘whose 4-year-olds get killed?’”
What has Barack Obama done for America during his first term? Well... He ended the war in Iraq, is responsibly winding down the war in Afghanistan, gave the order to hunt down and kill Bin Laden, passed comprehensive Health Care reform, saved the American auto industry, brought US exports to a near record all time high, repealed Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, signed the Lilly Ledbetter fair pay act, cut taxes on 94% of Americans, reduced the size of the government, provided stimulus spending to jump start an economy devastated by the deregulation of Wall Street under George Bush, and has subsequently overseen 32 straight months of job creation, brought unemployment to a level lower than when he took office, brought the Stock Market to its highest point in five years and did it all despite unprecedented Republican obstruction. That's why Barack Obama has more than earned my vote!
Pass this one around to your Liberal Friends YOU'RE A PASSIONATE and committed liberal. Four years ago, enthralled by Barack Obama's biography and inspired by his oratory, you voted for him with pride. You embraced his promise of hope and change. You were deeply moved by the racial progress he symbolized. But above all you voted for him because he expressed such enlightened views. You didn't just want a Democrat back in the White House, you wanted one who would bring progressive clarity to US national policy. For eight years, you'd fumed at George W. Bush's offenses against the Constitution; now at last, you believed, you were supporting a president for whom civil liberties would be an unshakable priority. A president who wouldn't be beholden to Wall Street and its rivers of cash. Who would prosecute the War On Terror without abandoning core American values or trampling basic human rights. Whose administration would function in the sunlight, a jewel of transparency, accountability, and due process. That w ...
Forwarded email alleges that three former Fannie Mae executives accused of improprieties - Franklin Raines, Tim Howard, and Jim Johnson - went on to serve as top economic advisers to Barack Obama.
Image is all that matters to the mob. Obama can take in the biggest campaign haul from Wall Street in world history, as he did in 2008, but the mob will never believe he’s in the pocket of Wall Street bankers. The top-three corporate employers of donors to Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Rahm Emanuel were Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and JPMorgan. Six other financial giants were in the top thirty donors to the White House Dream Team: UBS AG, Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley, Bank Of America, Merrill Lynch, and Credit Suisse Group. In 2008 alone, Goldman Sachs employees gave more to Obama — nearly $1 million – than any other employer, with the sole exception of the entire University of California, which has 230,000 employees — ten times more than Goldman. And still Republicans are called the Party of Wall Street. Bush let Lehman Brothers go under — what else do Republicans have to do? — P.10-11
Jill Stein is a candidate that the other 90 million of us can get excited about. Picture the populist candidate Barack Obama once was in 2008, minus the financial support from Wall Street banks and oil companies, and the fawning coverage from mainstream media outlets. In her Green New Deal, she's vowing to end drone strikes, tightly regulate Wall Street, halt all government-funded construction of fossil fuel-dependent projects, and end all foreign wars and occupations.
Stacey Dash is more than a bit delusional, she's totally delusional. But she's right about everyone being entitled to their opinion... however in her case she could have stripped and walked down Wall Street, and gotten more positive feed back and positive attention. She said watching Romney and his wife Ann, on Meet The Press they (osmosis'ly) spoke to her... she thinks they seemed authentic and genuine (I guess more down to earth and genuine than Michelle & Barack Obama), she believes him, and says WE! need him (meaning Mitt & Ryan) for us to be united. LMAO! Though out of work... she is still an actress right? Maybe Mitt Romney will find a role for her to act out the content of her character and not the color of her skin. You really have to listen to her to really feel sorry for her... the woman is craving attention. BTW... She's beside herself because Paul Ryan called her to thank her.
George W Bush lied to go to war. Put two wars on a credit card. Put tax breaks for rich on the credit card. Oversaw the Patriot Act that let the federal government spy on your email, purchases, phone messages and Internet activity. Collapsed the world economy. Saw hundreds of thousands of jobs a month lost. Collapsed the housing market. Let Karl Rove use 9/11 to divide this country more than its been in a hundred years and Barack Obama is the bad guy? Get a grip. As much as people like to pretend that we were on autopilot from Clinton to Obama that's just not case. The word republican was so toxic they had to create the term "Tea Party" just to run in 2010. I am so *** tired of people crying and belly aching. Is Obama perfect? No. This country was on the cusp of complete collapse after George W Bush gave Wall Street banks almost 13 trillion dollars. You say this country is going to *** in a hand basket? Some of us think we are just recovering from *** So it's just all in your personal perspective. I b .. ...
Charles -- In two days, when I shake Paul Ryan's hand onstage before the Vice Presidential debate, his side will be halfway through a $23 million week-long ad blitz attacking Barack in 10 battleground states. Our organizers on the ground are going to be busy counteracting that. But the fact is our organizing depends on budgets and those budgets depend on you, right now. This campaign needs to make critical decisions this week, and with just 28 days to go, there's no "I'll get to it later." If you've been waiting for the right moment to chip in, now is the time. Can you donate $5 or more today? That's just 18 cents for each day we have left -- making sure our folks on the ground have the resources they need to get this done. The only way someone like Mitt Romney -- who gets fact-checked by his own campaign on his Health Care plan, thinks Sesame Street deserves tougher treatment than Wall Street, and wrote off half of the country when he thought no one was listening -- beats someone like Barack Obama is if ...
Kim Vz shared Richard Clarke's status. Yesterday. Mitt Romney is a big time Wall Street insider. It is estimated that Romney has a personal fortune of approximately a quarter of a billion dollars, and Wall Street money is being absolutely showered on his campaign. In a recent article entitled “The Big Wall Street Banks Are Already Trying To Buy The 2012 Election“, I detailed how numbers compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics show that M itt Romney is getting far more money from the “too big to fail” Wall Street banks than all of the other Republican candidates combined. The following is an excerpt from that article that shows how much money employees of those banks (and their wives) have been giving to Romney so far this year…. Goldman Sachs Mitt Romney: $352,200 Barack Obama: $49,124 Tim Pawlenty: $25,000 Jon Huntsman: $6,750 Rick Perry: $5,500 Ron Paul: $2,500 Morgan Stanley Mitt Romney: $184,800 Tim Pawlenty: $41,715 Barack Obama: $28,225 Rick Perry: $20,750 Jon Huntsman: $9,750 Newt ...

lie “I Believe In The Free Market” Lie “Contrary to the claims of some of my critics, I am an ardent believer in the free market. I believe businesses like yours are the engines of economic growth in this country. You create the jobs.”3—BHO A year into his massive economic stimulus spending program, the Wall Street and Detroit bailouts, and on the cusp of his government takeover of American healthcare, Barack Obama came before the Business Roundtable on February 24, 2010, to tout his pro – business bona fides. Claiming to be an "ardent believer in the free market," and sounding much like Ronald Reagan, Obama told business leaders, "I firmly believe that America's success in large part depends on your success." Obama later contradicted himself when he delivered a with the ringing critique of the quote same old tune" of market solutions, cutting regulations and reducing taxes as a way out of economic decline. In a December 6, 2011 speech, Obama derided those who say "the market will take care ...
Ron Paul was one of the most outspoken opponents of the Wall Street bailouts. Why should countless billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars go to Wall Street elitists just because they made some gigantic mistakes? Where is the bailout for all those people who are now living in tent cities across the United States? The Wall Street bankers certainly are not interested in bailing out those who are losing their homes or their jobs. In fact, the Wall Street bankers are hoarding the cash they received in the bailouts and have decreased lending instead of increasing it. The truth is that the bailouts that both John Mccain and Barack Obama supported were absolute madness. Ron Paul has been fighting these bailouts, and that is one reason why the Tea Party crowd loves him so much.

Dear Friends --Right, Left, & Center... I sincerely like & prefer Barack Obama as President of the United States. He's got a level head & a cool hand. He knows not only the nature of the office, but has experience navigating the games of cunning Washington insiders, the media, & Wall-Street. He seems a decent man. He's a Constitutional scholar, a gentleman, & a good father. As nearly everyone readily admits, Barack Obama is a very skilled & effective speaker, even a great one -- plain speaking, good-natured & intelligent. An intellectual who shoots from the hip AND shoots hoops. A sober thinker with Black roots AND White roots AND Immigrant roots, who not only SEEMS to come from the people, but actually does. EVEN IF all that were merely an act, Barack Obama does it *** well. Certainly better than any other person I've seen stepping into the race for the White House. Who would we rather have as our Chief Executive, if not Barack Obama? Certainly not Mitt Romney . I'm starting to doubt whether he's even ...
A letter from Mary Shesgreen in the September 17, 2012, issue of the New Yorker says almost exactly what I have been saying all along about Barack Obama, Wall Street, Timothy Geithner, and the Dodd-Frank Bill. I can't reproduce it here because it is copyrighted and behind a pay wall on the Internet. Many people (liberals) have been harshly critical of me because of my harsh criticism of Barack Obama's nearly complete sellout to Wall Street. There are, apparently, at least two of us. I am supporting Barack Obama in this election only because Mitt Romney would be even worse.
Before taking the oath of office, Barack Obama vowed to fundamentally transform the United States. He has certainly done so. For example, Obama has: -- destroyed the job market; -- sent billions of taxpayer dollars to Wall Street, companies overseas, his campaign contributors and Public Sector unions; -- forced the passage of a wildly unpopular national Health Care law on a purely partisan vote; -- come out for *** marriage; -- refused to enforce laws on illegal immigration; -- eliminated the work requirement for welfare. How can a country that elected Ronald Reagan have Obama tied in the polls with Mitt Romney? The answer is: It's not the same country.
For the objective among you and for those who somehow missed the last four years, I submit for your consideration the stellar accomplishments of one Barack Obama. 1. Healthcare reform 2. Stopped the Depression 3.Killed Khadaffi 4 Killed Bin Laden 5.Wall Street Reform 6.The Dream Act 7.Repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell (Not crazy about that one but...) 8.Saved the American Auto Industry 9. Two women on the Supreme Court 10. Equal pay for Women Act 11. Stopped Torture 12. Got us out of Iraq 13 Student loan reform (student loans pegged to your salary) If you still hate this man after all these accomplishments for America then there is only one reason why. and it's the 1200lb. elephant in the room. It says more about you than him.
Okay everybody, lets think this through. Here's the choice we have in November. Barack Obama came from a poor family, the son of an immigrant, endured poverty to rise to attend one of the most prestigious universities in the world. After graduating, instead of pursuing lucrative career opportunities on Wall Street or as a trial lawyer, despite mounting debt from student loans, Obama chose a low-paying job to help Americans get jobs, find housing, find healthcare, and register to vote. Mitt Romney, born rich, is the son of a former governor and presidential candidate. After having his education payed for by his parents, Romney pursued a lucrative career of eliminating American jobs. Now he represents a Republican Party that is dedicated to supressing voter turnout, and if elected, vows to end affordable healthcare. This guy is so far out of touch with what most Americans are going through that you'd think he was a fictional character made up by Stephen Colbert. If you believe in the American Dream tha ...
Fabulous Editorial: FOR ROCKY IN THE POLL: My Comment ADD ONE TO IT:-) Charlotte Scot September 8, 2012 5:42 PM Thanks for the great editorial. You hit the nail on the head. The two party system should have been demolished years ago. They send kids to jail for possession of infinitesimal amounts of weed while the bankers on Wall Street shatter our economy sending the middle-class to poverty row, and they do nothing. Could it be that the corporate controlled duopoly cares only about money? These people, the Republicans and Democrats get us into senseless wars, despoil the environment, run-up huge deficits and then have the audacity to call third party candidates spoilers. Rocky Anderson is my candidate, and I am fortunate enough to live in a state where I can vote for him. I will vote for him although friends continually tell me I will be responsible if Romney is elected. EXCUSE ME. The Democrats have had free advertising for three and one half years for Barack Obama. They have already spent a quarter of a ...
The President's acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, last night - my thoughts: Then there's the President of the United States, Barack Obama. What can I say?? Every major point/concern he hit directly. No, he was not very specific (that'll be flushed out during the debates!) but he did one thing that will echo from the shores of Maine, to the coastline of California, from the Aleutian Islands off the coast of Alaska, to the Florida Keys, North Dakota to Texas; to the US territories around the globe and all points in between; to the mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandparents, extended family members, the single parent raising a family, secondary school children, to those in college, seniors managing or struggling with medical/health challenges, nurses, healthcare providers, hospital staff personnel, hospice care providers, local, city, county, state and federal employees, those who feel they're on the fringes, to mainstream middle America; to the farmers, the doctors, lawyers, poli ...
What Bill Clinton should have said was, "I left Barack Obama an economic mess when I ordered Fannie Mae to include 50% subprime loans in its portfolio that created a securities market that collapsed Wall Street and the economy followed, and his weak inept Keynesian model stimulus package hasn't been powerful enough to restore employment and revenues, not in 4 years, not in 50 years!"
Destroying Our Military from Within Posted by Alan Caruba on August 25, 2012 at 6:27pm in Tea Party Nation Forum View Discussions By Alan Caruba “Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. was too strong.” -- Ronald Reagan If you want to know how President Obama feels about the U.S. military, consider that in all the years since D-Day 1945 there have been three occasions when a President failed to go to the D-Day Monument that honors the soldiers killed during the Invasion. The occasions were: 1. Barack Obama 2010 2. Barack Obama 2011 3. Barack Obama 2012 For the past 68 years, all Presidents, except Obama, have paid tribute to the fallen soldiers killed on D-Day. This year, instead of honoring the soldiers, he made a campaign trip on Air Force 1 to California to raise funds for his reelection. The U.S. military has been systematically weakened from within by a combination of idiotic and duplicitous decisions that suggest how far the nation has come from the fundamental understa ...
Minnesotan David Foster and UAW President Bob King are getting a lot of media attention for their praise of warmonger Barack Obama. David Foster was a super-revolutionary Maoist who all it took to silence him was a big fat salary from the United Steelworkers union. Bob King was a movement wrecking Trotskyite who all it took to shut him up was a big fat pay check from the United Auto Workers union and probably a big fat pay-off from the Big Three. From "super-revolutionaries" to supporting a Wall Street imperialist warmonger like Barack Obama--- go figure. I wonder if American Crystal Sugar is being served to DNC delegates. I find it interesting the lockout of 1,300 workers by American Crystal Sugar management has not been mentioned from the DNC floor--- I wonder why David Foster did not take the opportunity he had at the podium to invite Obama to put on his marching shoes to help stop the scabs here in the Red River Valley. Both David Foster and Bob King represent and reflect a very selfish kind of labor ...
While Democrats attack Wall Street greed and hail Barack Obama for standing up to them, let's remember the free pass Obama and Holder gave Jon Corzine, who couldn't explain where $1 billion of investors money went.
From the WSJ, AUg 31, page A14 Somehow, I find the reflective review of the WSJ more objective than the knee-jerk analysis of MSNBC. I'm not convinced that Ms Cutter knows what a lie is. There is no delicate way to describe ignorance. That one has a live mic in front of her face does not confer accuracy or authority. The Janesville President Paul Ryan quotes Barack Obama from 2008. Democrats are outraged. From their fainting couches, the press corps "fact checkers" and the liberals who love them are having a spell over Paul Ryan's Tampa convention speech. How dare he so much as mention the Wisconsin assembly plant that President Obama promised to keep open but didn't? The claim is that there was nothing the White House could do, because the General Motors facility in Mr. Ryan's hometown of Janesville was already starting to idle production and slated for closure when Mr. Obama took office. Therefore the empty production lines are George W. Bush's fault, like everything else in the last four years. But ...
"Most likely, it’ll be Mitt Romney versus Barack Obama, meaning the voters’ choices in the midst of a massive global economic crisis brought on in large part by corruption in the financial services industry will be a private equity parasite who has been a lifelong champion of the Gordon Gekko Greed-is-Good ethos (Romney), versus a paper progressive who in 2008 took, by himself, more money from Wall Street than any two previous presidential candidates, and in the four years since has showered Wall Street with bailouts while failing to push even one successful corruption prosecution (Obama)." - Matt Taibbi
This is a really good commentary on Mitt Romney by Jesse Jackson. But, isn't Obama's agenda the very same "Class Warfare" agenda, too? Yet we will never see Jesse Jackson write this; why not? Recently there was an article in the Huffington Post which admonished progressives who don't support Obama to at least do their duty in attacking Mitt Romney. My question is this: Don't these "progressives" like Jesse Jackson have a responsibility to subject Barack Obama to the same scrutiny as Mitt Romney? Go through what Jesse Jackson has written here paragraph by paragraph and anyone can see the exact same criticism applies to Barack Obama. And what are "the modest reforms of Wall Street that Obama got through Congress" Jesse Jackson is referring to? There is no doubt that "class warfare" is going on in this country but it is Obama who has engaged in bringing Democrats and Republicans together to attack the working class and wage wars which are making us all poor. Have Obama and the Democrats discussed inequality ...
Government of the rich, for the rich and by the rich. The republican government guaranteed by the Constitution is being bought by these people. Forget about "one man, one vote." It is now "one dollar, one vote" and the guy with the most dollars wins. Contribute to Barack Obama, America. Contribute to Paul Sadler, Texas. Contribute to Gary Brown, Texas House District 65 (southeast Denton County).
Speaking before a raucous crowd in Minneapolis Vice President Joe Biden slammed Republicans who criticised Barack Obama's Wall Street Reforms as 'squealing pigs'.
"Big-time politicians are still afraid to explain to the American people how exactly it is that many Wall Street firms make their money, because they’re afraid to lose access to the crumbs those firms sometimes toss their way. Barack Obama is one of the few politicians with the communication skills to explain this to middle America, but he’s refusing to go there, probably because he’s still hoping for a post-election rapprochement with Wall Street. He wants to go after Bain Capital, but not private equity in general; he wants to go after Mitt Romney’s missing tax returns, but not the tax returns of all people like Mitt Romney." Matt Taibbi
I agree with Michael Munk's commentary below introducing this piece by William Greider from The Nation. In fact, these "liberals," "progressives" and "leftists" rallying for Obama's re-election now tell us we shouldn't even care about Obama's record and others are telling us we can expect Obama to carry out a progressive agenda in his second term. Michael Munk politely questions if these people are serious about movement building. I will be more to the point and point out that these phony liberals, progressives and leftists who sold Obama the first time around as being "progressive" are trying to sell him as a "liberal" this time around. Carl Davidson and Bill Fletcher, Jr. even try to pass Obama off as a "corporate liberal" meaning Obama represents what they call the enlightened "high road capitalists" as opposed to the "low road capitalists." In fact, Barack Obama is as reactionary as *** -- a neo-liberal--- carrying out Wall Street's agenda of imperialist wars for profit and world domination abroad pa ...
The Justice Department's decision not to prosecute Goldman Sachs in a financial-fraud probe is another sign of the cronyism that has kept Attorney General Eric Holder from taking action against other big Wall Street firms. Sandra Fluke, a young woman I greatly admire wrote an article in the Huff PO "Why I am standing with Barack Obama." The following is my response: I am NOT standing with President Obama. I am standing with and voting for Rocky Anderson and Luis Rodriguez. During the Carter Administration I was Press Secretary and Director of Communications for the DNC. MY Democratic Party would never have supported NDAA, undeclared wars, torture off shore, police brutality, and the loss of civil liberties. This President and this Democratic Party are spinless. They stand up for nothing until they have to. Rocky Anderson has been supporting GLBT since 1996, he has supported Bradley Manning, he believes the thieves on Wall Street should be held accountable, he realizes climate change should be a priority. The DNC and RNC are the same, funded by the same corporations and wealth. I've had it. I want to vote for someone who walks the talk not these commercialize robo candidates who continually sell out to the highest bidder.
Mitt Romney is a wolf in a wolf’s clothing, Barack Obama is a wolf in a sheep’s clothing, but they both essentially have the same agenda. Mitt Romney doesn’t even pretend to do anything other than advance the economic elites’ agenda. He ha s a track record which is to advance the likes of his own to acquire enormous amounts of wealth by tearing down other companies and businesses, firing workers and off-shoring jobs, gobbling up the profits themselves. With Barack Obama and the Democratic Party it is a little harder to see clearly what they are about because they do talk a populist line but actually look at their record – it is pretty clear who their exigencies are too. George Bush provided about $800 billion in bailouts for Wall Street. But under Barack Obama it has been many trillions, some $4.5 trillion worth of bailouts that has already been dispersed and there are many more trillions worth of emergency loans and guarantees. All kinds of backdoors to basically funnel either out-and-out bailo ...
Why do we as a country put up with dishonesty from our leaders? Of the four men involved in the race for President, do any of them have actions that back up their words? Paul Ryan and Barack Obama are two incredibly disingenuous people whose words have contradicted their actions time and time again. Paul Ryan gets gutsy when putting together budgets that he knows have no actual chance of passing, but when he was faced with actually voting for or against a massive jump in government size and debt, so long as his own party was in the White House, he voted in favor of it every time. Two unfunded wars, massive tax cuts with no cuts in spending to offset them, billions in Corporate Welfare known as the Medicare Prescription Drug benefit - the man's voting record is as Big Government as you get - so long as the Big Government in question is being run by his own party. Does that not bother anybody? Or is massive government expansion and debt only bad when the Democrats are in the White House? Barack Obama ca ...
Back in 2008, financial services companies, Goldman Sachs in particular, loved the Democrat Party and then-Senator Barack Obama. “[E]mployees of New York-based Goldman gave three-fourths of their campaign donations to Democratic candidates and committees, including presidential nominee Barack Obama,” Bloomberg reports. But then something happened. He got elected. After the 2008 presidential election, members of the financial community were no longer valued donors but were instead “fat cats” who don’t pay their “fair share” or “play by the rules.” And then the White House condoned and coddled that whole “Let’s Destroy Capitalism” Occupy Wall Street thing. What we’re trying to say is that members of the financial community, Goldman employees in particular, seem a little sore with Team Obama. So much so, in fact, that the Obama campaign has repeatedly tried to convince Wall Street that they’re not out to get them. Apparently, it’s not working: Goldman employees are “showering ...
Listening to the Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, the place of my birth, address the nation on CNN totally delusional. For instance, he says the People should unseat President Obama and put Mitt Romney in his place because he did not keep his promises to the people. This is delusional because President Obama made a huge effort to kept every promise made to the American People and more. It was Mitt Romney and the Governor's Republican Party in Congress that put our nation at risk and BLOCKED the American People from receiving the promises Barack Obama made to move America forward. Furthermore, the American people are educated enough to know one man's failure to keep a promise that he still has time to fulfill does not mean another weaker man will be able to complete the task. On the contrary, it means the weaker man will not be able to do any better. It means putting a weaker man in will only cause more harm. Below is a comparison of what President Obama HAS done as Commander in Chief of this nation that t ...
I find it interesting some "Marxists" keep trying to equate the present worthless crop of national labor "leaders" heading up the AFL-CIO with the working class when these cowardly labor "leaders" who think they are leading the struggle by supporting Obama are really, in supporting Obama, strengthening the working class' main enemy: Wall Street. There is nothing that looks more stupid than a labor "leader" wearing an Obama 2012 cap passing out Obama leaflets to locked out workers. Recently while in the Twin Cities, Richard Trumka held a press conference about how the AFL-CIO was going to support 1,300 American Crystal Sugar workers locked out of their jobs. After his press conference one of a small group of kiss *** who turned out for the press conference asked Trumka what he intended to do to help locked out American Crystal Sugar workers. Trumka responded: "First things first. First we get our friend Barack Obama re-elected and the day after the election the fight to back American Crystal Sugar worker . ...
This is perfect, and it's not the same ol' same ol'. 20 Reasons Why It's Great to Be Barack Obama 1) It's all the golf you can play and as many free vacations as you want. The teleprompter tells you what to say to the crowd and if anybody makes a joke about you, someone calls him a racist! 2) You get a Nobel Peace Prize just for showing up. 3) No matter how much worse black Americans do under you than George W. Bush, Kanye West is never going to say, "Barack Obama doesn't care about black people." 4) You can eat a dog and PETA will still love you. 5) No one seems to find it odd that you simultaneously repeat Harry Truman's famous line, "The buck stops here" -- as you blame George Bush, Republicans in Congress, greedy corporations, the European economy, and even ATM machines for your many, many failures. 6) The Occupy Movement still loves you despite the fact that you've shoveled billions of dollars in taxpayer dollars to Wall Street firms via bailouts and loan programs. 7) You can have a net worth of 11 m ...
The similarities between Obama and Romney are uncanny! 1. The signature legislative accomplishment of Romney who is supposed to repeal “ObamaCare” was “RomneyCare,” which was the blueprint and model for The Affordable Care Act. Mitt Romney, like Barack Obama, believes individual mandates can be a good ingredient of public policy. 2.The same Wall Street recipients of TARP bailout money that were top Obama donors in 2008 are top Romney donors in 2012. 3. The Obama Administration has failed to prosecute a single Wall Street executive for malfeasance related to the 2007 – 2008 financial crash. Wall Street’s aforementioned donation patterns make for a compelling conclusion: A Romney Administration would be no different. 4. Like Obama, Romney supports taxpayer bailouts of struggling corporations– handouts that go from hardworking Americans to wealthy companies with irresponsible management. 5.Like Obama– who voted for it as a US Senator and continues to support and defend it as President, Mitt ...
Morgan Freeman donates $1 million to Barack Obama's re-election Now we shall see, if the labor dept and or IRS investigates Morgan Freeman, as they did the businessman that gave to Mitt. .Movie legend Morgan Freeman has donated $1 million to help fund President Barack Obama's re-election campaign later this year. America will go to the polls in November, and a string of Hollywood stars have been holding fundraising events to boost Obama's campaign coffers in a bid to land him another four years in the White House. RELATED: Pics: Michelle Obama and More Powerful Moms Freeman, a longstanding Democrat and Obama supporter, has added his own money to Democratic political action committee Priorities USA Action, which is backing Obama for another term. Speaking of his decision to hand over the hefty sum, Freeman writes, "He [Obama] has ended combat operations in Iraq, put in place sensible reforms of Wall Street, saved the auto industry and protected the Health Care of every American with a pre-existing conditio ...
"Obama's Justice Department Rushes to the Rescue of LIBOR Criminals" is the headline of a short piece by Glen Ford on the Black Agenda Network site on July 18. "The Obama Justice Department is in theater mode, again, pretending to threaten the bankster class with criminal penalties and prison time! for their manipulation of the global economy's benchmark interest rates", Ford writes. "The Justice Department claims to be building criminal and civil cases in the LIBOR scandal, which in sheer scope is the biggest fraud by international capital in history. But that's all a front, a farce. "Barack Obama has spent his entire presidency protecting Wall Street, starting with his rescue of George Bush's bank bailout bill after its initial defeat in Congress, in the last days of Obama's candidacy. He packed his administration with banksters, passed his own bailout and, in collaboration with the Federal Reserve, channeled at least $16 trillion dollars into the accounts of U.S. and even European banks — by far the ...
Something to think about: We can see where all the "New Left" who ridiculed the "old Left" ended up--- backing Wall Street's imperialist warmonger Barack Obama.
He blasted Wall Street, Big Business, big banks, big oil, "excess profits," "corporate profits" and "fat contracts," "millionaires" and the "wealthy." No, it's not Barack Obama. It's Frank Marshall Davis, Obama's mentor, and a Communist Party USA member.
During the run-up to the 2008 presidential election, Barack Obama was big finance’s favorite candidate by a long shot. Perhaps hoping to put a more Bill Clinton-esque Democrat in the White House (didn’t exactly work out that way, did it?), Wall Street poured money into the Democrats’ fundraising mac...
"Those who exploit do so through layers of deceit. They hire charming and eloquent interlocutors. How many more times do you want to be lied to by Barack Obama? What is this penchant for self-delusion that makes us unable to see that we are being sold into bondage? Why do we trust those who do not deserve our trust? Why are we repeatedly seduced? The promised closure of Guantanamo. The public option in Health Care. Reforming the Patriot Act. Environmental protection. Restoring habeas corpus. Regulating Wall Street. Ending the wars. Jobs. Defending labor rights. I could go on." - Chris Hedges
Adrian Hunter: Could Barack Obama have somehow rammed through the entire progressive wish list in five months? I find it hard to see how, given the unreliability of the blue dog Senators. Could he have convinced the conservative Senators to put a vote to repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell through, at the same time they were struggling to get a healthcare bill done? Could he have gotten them to add DOMA to their task list, given the knock-down, drag-out healthcare fight and with the rising Tea Party town hall rebellion brewing? Maybe, but I doubt that, too. Would it have made progressives happy if he had made a vocal, visible show of trying to do those things, and spoken out like a true liberal lion, lambasting Wall Street, calling for the heads of the banks on a platter or even ordering the Treasury Secretary to seize and privatize the big banks, and demanding that *** marriage be made the law of the land without delay? Sure. Would that have helped any of those things pass the Senate? Nope. So what did Obama ...
Think you know Elizabeth Warren? See what Barack Obama, Rachel Maddow, Jon Stewart, and MA voters have to say about her -- and see her speak for herself -- in the campaign's video for the Massachusetts Democratic Convention.
Newark Mayor Cory Booker's awkward sabotage of friend Barack Obama's campaign may have been impolitic, but it is certainly understandable that Booker would defend private equity firms. Throughout his election campaigns and tenure as mayor, Booker has received mammoth millions from Wall Street, whose managers helped create an amazing campaign fund of $7.5 million to replace the inept Mayor Sharpe James in 2006. One of Booker's earliest sponsors is Bill Ackman, who founded Pershing Square Capital Management LP and has continued to recruit fellow hedge fund managers to finance Booker's efforts, such as the privatization of Newark's public services. Bloomberg reported in 2010 that Ackman already was instrumental in raising $240 million for Booker's various political and municipal projects. Investment funds like Pershing Square and Bain Capital that Mitt Romney headed, typically buy controlling shares in businesses that can be made more profitable by cutting labor and other costs, then sell them when th ...
.David Drissel It's a no-brainer for me. I've been a Barack Obama supporter all along. He's helped to rescue this economy from the depths of the Great Recession that started under Bush's watch. His Administration can be proud of many great accomplishments..., including ending "don't ask, don't tell," reforming Health Care to cover over thirty million more Americans, passing major Wall Street Reforms to better protect financial consumers, and presiding over three years of positive GDP growth in the economy and significant gains in private sector job growth. I'm also very proud that Obama is the first President in American History to come out in favor of marriage equality.
Campaign finance records show that the top five donor groups in Mitt Romney’s campaign are individuals and political actions committees associated with large financial institutions, led by Wall Street giants Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase. By contrast, Obama’s top five contributor gro...
"So how courageous is the president's change of mind? This now puts Barack Obama in the same reviled category as the Hollywood elite, the New York Times editorial page, the American professoriat, his Wall Street fundraising bundlers, the *** and *** Alliance Against Defamation, readers of the Nation, the cast and crew of The Daily Show, and the majority of residents on New York’s Upper West Side. And lest we forget: He now risks the wrath of zealots, extremists, partisans, and ideologues." -Weekly Standard,
Rothschild's Choice: Barack Obama and the Hidden Cabal Behind the Plot to Murder America "The man Rothschild chooses—that man will become President of the United States," Texe Marrs was told by an insider. So, who was Rothschild's Choice in 2008? The answer is obvious: Barack Hussein Obama! The fourth Baron de Rothschild, Lord Jacob Rothschild of Great Britain, has been called the 21st Century's "King of Israel." He and other Rothschilds preside over the planet's greatest banking cartel, and Wall Street firms Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citibank, and others bow to Rothschild dictates. Politicians in world capitals, Washington, D.C., London, Paris, and Tokyo grovel before their awesome power. Rothschild's Choice documents the astonishing rise of a young, half blood "Prince" of Jerusalem, a Communist adept named Barack Obama who won Rothschilds' favor—and was rewarded for his slavish devotion to their sinister Agenda. Here are the revelations that dissolve the mystery of Obama's meteoric, virtually u ...

For a much more serious and profound poem--A Call to Action: Occupy by Brian McSweeney Let all the heroes come. Let all the spirits and ancestors join us now when the veil is thin. Let William Blake and Oscar Wilde lead an army of starving Irish peasants to take back their land from the English Lords who stole it. Let all the great writers join minds, Tolstoy, Marx, Jung, and Camus come marching through my sleeping neighborhood.
