"Oh my God. Oh my God. I'm sorry. This moment is so much bigger than me. This moment is for Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horne, Diahann Carroll. It's for the women that stand beside me, Jada Pinkett, Angela Bassett, Vivica Fox. And it's for every nameless, faceless woman of color that now has a chance because this door tonight has been opened. Thank you. I'm so honored. I'm so honored. And I thank the Academy for choosing me to be the vessel for which His blessing might flow."
Vivica Fox has really let herself go... Age is not an excuse... Look at Angela Bassett... That's a nice looking woman...
I remain unconvinced that she's the right fit for storm. Maybe Vivica Fox or Angela Bassett
Arnold I thought about something today and what you have in common with celebritiies such as Vivica Fox and Angela Bassett. In an interview both said how hard they worked to get President Obama reelected. Reinforces how hard work pays off. Every day when I wake up and go to work I know it pays off. I greatly admire my brother Ancil who works just as hard, my brother Andy who does his duty comes off duty and returns to work again and my brother Kevin who works extremely hard all hard workers. Our mother instilled that in us. Hard work pays off laziness and no productivity does not, Lazy shiftless people take note .
Regarding Election Night, talk about beautiful Black Women I saw up close and person was Angela Bassett, Lynn Whitfield, Alfre Woodard and ViVica Fox. OMG, they r even more beautiful in person than on screen! Proud 2b a Black Woman... YES!!
A great physical portrayal, not that she needed it. We should all be going beyond complexions as black people, I see this 'Nina' film opportunity as a chance for French director, Cynthia Mort to create a jazzy European-style vision of Nina Simone (who is from Philadelphia PA). The director is using the actress (Zoe Saldana) for her skill to convey the film's vision, not because Mort could only decide to hire a fair skinned black woman. She needed Saldana for her talent, her skin is not the role - her talent was IN her body for this role, not ON it as many people who watch television have come to expect. People have come to 'expect' typecasting in everything form jobs to movie roles. An actor acts - what they look like is different, but the talent is within them. Someone could look like Nina Simone, but could they perform the acting required to fit the vision?. Vivica Fox and Angela Bassett are typecasting, they both are ANY role that they could audition for. We just expect them to be 'Black Women in black ...
I'm feeling all these silver fox action stars, but can we get Angela Bassett, Sigourney Weaver, Jaime Lee Curtis or Vivica Fox? I'd live
lmao they all look like each other. It's like the Angela Bassett/ Vanessa Williams/ Vivica A. Fox kinda thing.
