SOME PEOPLE JUST UNDERESTIMATE KANNADA.. This is for them Kannada, The Language of Bangalore - Karnataka- KannadaNadu Kannada is the State Language of Karnataka. Kannada - aptly described as 'sirigannada' (known to few as Kanarese) is one of the oldest Dravidian languages and is spoken in its various dialects by roughly 45 million people worldwide. The Kannada language has been spoken for about 2500 years, with the Kannada writing system being in use for about the last 1900 years. The initial development of the Kannada language is similar to that of other Dravidian languages, notably Tamil and Telugu. During later centuries, Kannada, along with Telugu, has been highly influenced by Sanskrit vocabulary and literary styles. Kannada is a highly inflected language with three genders (masculine, feminine, neutral or common) and two numbers (singular, plural). It is inflected for gender, number and tense, among other things. There is also a sharp distinction between the spoken and written forms of the language. ...

Modiji, Where are you? Are you Prime Minister or not? Nation demands a clear answer from you. We did not support you to see young girls raped, killed and hanged. And by the way, what is the policy of meeting with you? I tried my best thru Baba Ramdev, Amit Shah and Ashok Singhal to have an audience with you, but I failed. I was privileged to meet with Vinoba Bhave, Atal Behari Bajpayee and Morar ji Desai in the past. In my mind, you are like a God sent angel in human form. I am open to be advised by anyone. Whom should I approach to have a fixed meeting with Modiji. It is not that easy to fly back and forth from America in uncertainty. Thanks for kind consideration.
After BJP’s ascendency to power, the question “what will RSS do next?” is in the air. The mindset behind such a question is not difficult to trace. In political discourse, RSS unfortunately continues to be viewed less through facts and the truth and often through the prism of preconceived imagery, notion and outright wishful thought process. The preconceived image of the Sangh is that it engages in backseat driving as far as politics is concerned, engendering a ‘remote control’ theory. Presumptions apart, RSS’ relation to politics is ever dynamic and changing, not static. Had that been the case, RSS wouldn’t have become an independent powerful force. Founded in 1925, when many organisations rose and fell, RSS continued to thrive and expand. Unfortunately, its critics view it solely through the lens of power politics, ignoring its progressive work among Dalits, Adivasis, workers and students. Intervention in politics does not alter its fundamental character. India’s political history has se ...

It is said that a person's eyes are the gateway to his/her soul. If so what do this person's eyes tell us? Who is this person? We've had 'Gangs of Wassepur' movies. But Dilipji, he has also been described as the 'Gandhi of the gangs'. What does he have in him which people like Dilip Sardesai, Barkha Dutt, Sagarika Ghosh, etc. would love to possess? Come to Zorba, The Buddha from 18th April to discover the answer which will not be available in any of the books on Influencing (not even in Dr. Cialdini's books). The answer is such that he had a sway over 10,000 gangsters of Los Angeles. He is the US equivalent of our own late Vinoba Bhave.
Subject: Why to get up early. Get up early morning! If you want to get more things packed in a day, it makes sense to get up early in the morning! Well this would have been a completely unnecessary statement to be made – say 50 years ago. All our national leaders – Gandhi, Nehru, Rajaji, Vinoba Bhave, – all of them were early risers. Of course so are the Sankaracharyas. What is so great about mornings? Do a Google search and you find many CEOs who are EARLY morning risers – from 4.30 am to 6am is what I mean!Well, the advantages are here: 1. There is not much distraction at 4.30am: It is extremely unlikely that you will sit in front of the TV aimlessly switching channels like you did at 10 pmlast night ! 2. The mind is stronger: there is a greater will power to get things done in the morning. 3. There is almost a zero percent chance that somebody will disturb you: work can go on uninterrupted. 4. Hi energy work is easier to get done in the mornings – walk, run, gym. This also sets up a good posit ...

I feel Sri Sri Ravi shankar, Baba Ramdev and many such so called Gurus are money mongers. They do all activities with the sole aim of earning money. All their so called Art Of Living , Yoga Shivir etc... are for those who can afford their high fees. However true reformers & social activists in reality were Mother Teresa, Baba Amte, Vinoba Bhave, Sunderlal Bahuguna and many such activists who did not accumulated wealth in the name of social cause.

Radha Krisna Temple-Complex incorporating the Shiva Temple (Beohar-dynasty) Historic RadhaKrisna temple-complex of Beohar-dynasty where Mahatma Gandhi, Ghanshyam Das Birla, Jamnalal Bajaj, Vinoba Bhave worshipped.. These Vaishnav and Shaiva temples in Jabalpur were constructed by Beohar-dynasty in c. 17-18th century CE and were the first temples in India to be opened to the Dalits in c. 1928-29 by Beohar Raghuvir Simha with his friends Ghanshyam Das Birla and Jamnalal Bajaj. The RadhaKrishna temple houses the idols of Shri Radha-Krisna (given by Maharaja Chhatrasal of Panna to the ancestors of Beohar-dynasty, supposed to be replicas of the idols of Bhagwan JugalKishore ji), alongside Shri Ram-Janki ji and other Gods and Goddesses.

There is no such thing as right or wrong, because something may be right this moment and it may not be right the next moment. Something may be wrong today and may not be wrong tomorrow.Right and wrong are not fixed entities, they are not labels that you can put on things, “This is right” and “This is wrong.” But this has been done up to now. Right and wrong have been decided by people. And because people have decided right and wrong, they have misguided the whole humanity. Many decides in one way: what he thinks is right becomes right for millions and millions of Hindus for thousands of years. It is so stupid, it is unbelievable! How can people go on following Manu for five thousand years? Everything else has changed. If Manu comes back he will not be able to recognize the world at all; everything has changed. But the Hindu mind goes on following the categories that Manu has fixed.Still, after five thousand years, there are millions of people in India who are not treated like people. What to say, t ...

Mahatma Gandhi- some memories Mahatma Gandhi visited our Ewing Christian College in 1937, and influenced Prof Ram Vilas Sharma of Raipur, our Head of the Physics Department, who established two schools in remote villages. During summer vacations in 1955, I used to bike in order to visit those schools, where I encouraged my class mates to go along with me and teach self-sufficiency: how to make soap. Prof Sharma even built a Gandhian Library in premises of Ewing Christian College, Allahabad, where I was a lead volunteer. My father asked me read Mahatma Gandhi's autobiography entitled: "My Experiments with Truths". Yes, I did finish reading it from beginning to end at the age of 10. Naturayy, it influenced me greatly. Later, I visited Paunar, near Nagpur where Vinoba Bhave had a hut. As you may know, he was spiritual successor of Mahatma Gandhi. My nick name was : Vinoba kaa chelaa. BHARAT RATAN: Is of No Significance now. Bharat Ratna is for giving selfless service to Nation like Dr. Roa, like Dr. B R ambedkar , Like Mother Teresa, C.V. Raman, Vinoba Bhave, Abdul kalam ajad. I don't believe Sachin's contributions are of that order, for him to be awarded Bharat Ratna. He is merely a sports person, agreed a great one. But his aspiration to become a sports person was personal, not from any desire to serve country (I don't know, how being a sports person can be considered as a service to the country). Yes, he definitely did a great service to the game and he should be awarded whatever is highest award for that game. Even if you want to give this award to a sportsperson then why not to The five-time World chess champion Vishwanathan Anand. Dhyan Chand died 34 years ago, his legacy still continues. Indian National Movement | Freedom Movement in India It has been observed that the struggles for Freedom in India had been a merger of a whole series of political events spreading over many decades. I am trying to recall what Vinoba Bhave had once said: “Where there is injustice there cannot be peace”. Unless until we talk about justice to the Adivasis in Dantewada, these kind of extreme "unwanted" violent incidents will continue to repeat as a reaction to "unwarranted" STATE VIOLENCE, i.e. Salwa Judum (& Operation Green Hunt) that is started with the intention of grabbing forests and handing them over to private institutions. Before the Salwa Judum, Maoists numbered only 500 in Dantewada and they are mostly from near by Telangana/Andhra regions. After the Salwa Judum, the Maoist strength grew to 5,00,000 in that region – a 1000-fold increase.      The Bhoodan Movement or Land Gift Movement was a voluntary land reform movement in India started by Acharya Vinoba Bhave in 1951 started at Pochampally village now known as Bhoodan Pochampally.   Method   The mission of the movement was to persuade wealthy landowners to voluntarily give a percentage of their land to lower castes. Vinoba Bhave walked across India on foot, to persuade landowners to give up a piece of their land. He was followed by crowds nearly everywhere he went. Philosophically, Vinoba Bhave was directly influenced by the Sarvodaya movement of Gandhi of whose he was the spiritual heir The movement was started on 18th April 1951 at Pochampalli village in Nalgonda district when Telangana peasant movement on the land issue reached the peak. Learning from S. Jagannathan -Appa: A Great Social Activist for Our Time David Blake Willis, PhD, Professor of Anthropology and Education My own contacts with Appa and Amma, two great social activists of the 20th and 21st centuries, came in the 1970s when I was doing work on the Sarvodaya Movement, a social change organization that was an outgrowth of the work of Mahatma Gandhi in the 1940s and his disciple Vinoba Bhave in the 1950s. Through the activities of Amma and Appa I became especially interested in the role of mapping, particularly when it came to social and cultural space, with a focus in terms of communities which have been historically oppressed, as well as on cultural and social capital. This also matched my interest in the themes of crossing borders and the creation of new cultures. My research also has a social activist side, particularly in the case of research into Dalits and the goals of ending the apartheid of caste in India. When I first met Amma and Appa in late 1977, I had just taken ...

Bill Gates vs MOTHER TERESSA - WORTH READING TILL END Two days ago, I was in China, speaking to a bunch of influential business leaders. One of them posed a challenge: "You speak about Vinoba Bhave, the spiritual heir of Gandhi, and how he walked 80K kilometers across India and inspired people to donate 5 million acres to their neighbors. Yes, it might've been an unprecedented feat in the history of mankind, but really, how many people remember Vinoba today? Instead, think of how many people remember Steve Jobs and the legacy he left behind." From a short-term impact point of view, it's a thoughtful dilemma. In fact, Forbes magazine did a piece which reflected similarly, asking the question: "Who has changed the world more: Bill Gates or Mother Teresa?" And they concluded Bill Gates. My response to this industrialist, though, was a true story that happened a few weeks ago at a school near Pune. I asked the same question to them: who do you want to be when you grow up -- Bill Gates or Mother Teresa? Usuall ...

When Baba Amte wept! After the operation bluestar on June 5-6,1984, the spurt in revengeful terrorism cost Punjab about 30,000 people including 10,000 militants, according to official estimates. Unofficially, the figure is approximately one lakh. Many efforts were made to douse the fire of anger. I will speak of only one which I covered: the peace march of actor Sunil Datt from Mumbai to Amritsar which reached the destination on April 13, 1987. A successful actor of many memorable roles, Datt emulated Bhoodan activist Vinoba Bhave in dress and speech. We joined him at a farm house at Jandiala near Amritsar and were amused to find him made up from head-to-foot as the Bhoodan leader. Dhoti, loose bundee, flapcap a pouch hanging out from the midriff and a staff. He was accompanied by his daughter Priya. It was a three-hour brisk march in the sweltering Baisakhi heat with double column bsf security cover. An enthusiastic reception at Bhandari bridge. It was a carefully selected day as the Punjab government in ...
