Vice President - First thoughts about

I have decided to announce today that I am running for President of the United States. I'm not going to play any games or jockey for position. Therefore I will also announce today that I have already made my selection for Vice President. I can't announce any names yet because I haven't told her that we are running. I can tell you she is of African American descent. She is an amazingly talented individual. Like me she struggles with some of the beliefs she so strongly held as a young girl growing up in a devout Muslim home. Her parents had a very difficult time when she realized that true happiness for her meant being honest with her inner self as she realized she was deeply in love with her future wife. Like me she has question some of her core beliefs throughout her life. Although she remains devoted to the pure ideals of her Muslim faith. The strong devotion to living a life centered and grounded in a belief in a supreme being. She lives her life by the principles of charity and respect. She practices t ...

Apparently the Kenyan Parlement had a bit of a debate regarding the then President Elect Obama's national origin. It is a little hard to follow but if you go to page 19 and then 21 you will see two very interesting passages. On page 19 in the fourth paragraph, Ms. Odhiambo makes the statement that "Mr. Obama is a son of the soil of this country". The document moves on and it is apparent that there was more than a little internal conflict for the Kenyan Parliment over this issue in the past. As you make your way to page 21 go 2/3 of the way down to the statement made by The Vice President and Minister for Home Affairs (Mr. Musyoka). Near the end of his statement he asserts that, "At the beginning of this year (2008) Senator Barrack Obama called me at midnight and told me: "Mr. Vice President, could you make sure you sort out this problem? I want to assure him that the problem has since been sorted out." Read the document and maybe the birthers won't look so unhinged. They may actually be right.

Mr. Sambo disclosed that the issue of gas availability has been resolved and that everything is being done to resolve outstanding issues surrounding power transmission. The joint meeting also resulted in the establishment of three committees to fast-track the privatisation of 10 power generation plants and 11 power distribution companies under the National Independent Power Plants, NIPP, project. Today is a great day.My daughter Sarah graduates from Santa Susana High School. I can't even begin to express how proud I am of my beautiful daughter, and every day she amazes me with what she accomplishes. She has made it through middle school and high school without a grade lower than an A. She was chosen as the math department student for this year. She is graduating with honors and has certificated in Math, Musical Theater, and Vocal Music. This year she was president of the Choir Club and Vice President of Thespians, and she is one of two student graduation speakers tonight. A sum of over Rs.642 crore has been incurred on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's air travels abroad in the last nine years. This information has been made public by the PMO as part of obligations under the mandatory proactive disclosure clause of the Right to Information Act. The information reveals that Singh undertook 67 travels since 2004 when he took over as PM, of which bills of five have not been received. POSSIBLE E15 BAN SEMA is supporting legislation (S. 344) introduced in the U.S. Senate to ban the sale of gasoline containing 15% ethanol. The bill would overturn actions taken by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) two years ago to permit ethanol levels to rise from 10% (E10) to 15% (E15). The agency is only requiring a gas pump warning label to alert motorists that E15 could potentially cause equipment failure for vehicles older than model-year 2001. The International Finance Corporation is now set to issue a 10-year bond to raise 2 billion cedis in the country. This is after the corporation secured approval from the capital market regulator, SEC to prepare the local prospectus for the issue. In response to some relevant questions by Joy Business, Vice President and Treasurer, Jingdong Hua, said the move is part of their plan to reduce Ghanaâ€™s dependency on foreign debt and also develop the local capital market. Proceeds of the bond would be used to support Ghanaian businesses. The corporation is targeting institutional investors especially pension fund managers to participate in the issue. It is also expecting to list and publicly trade the bond on the Ghana Stock Exchange. In a related development the private sector arm of the World Bank is also set to launch a Naira-denominated bond in Nigeria.

Japan will fund the modernisation of the Mombasa Port at a cost of Sh30 billion, Deputy President William Ruto has said.
