Happy Friday!! I wanted to share a few tips today that worked for me losing baby weight. Most mommas gain a healthy 25-30lbs. I gained a whopping 50-55 due to inactivity and bed rest. So I had a lot of work to do. 1. Drink LOTS AND LOTS of water. 2. Breast Feed as long as you can. I only made it about 2-3 months but it def helped with weightloss 3. DON'T DIET.. INSTEAD LIVE HEALTHY. When breast feeding we are hungrier so it is important to make good healthy choices for those extra calories we need. The more protein filled meals you eat, the more satiated you will be, helping to avoid those snack attacks in the kitchen. My diet is filled with good lean meats, veggies, fruits, and baked and sweet potatoes. Oh and my shakeology of course. When breast feeding my shakeology was an extra meal for me to get enough of the good calories. Avoid processed foods and grains as much as possible. A little background: Riley has multiple mental health diagnoses. For these conditions he takes two different medications. He was taking up to 5 meds a day, 9 pills, but we've recently pared it down to only 2 meds, four pills a day! Matt and I think this is awesome!! The icing on the cake is that we feel like we've got our son back. Our happy go lucky, fun, loving, playful, funny, creative son.  The old medication made him sleepy, irritable, aggressive, and unhappy. But it kept him from hurting himself, so we thought we'd found a winner. We were so wrong! Anyway, thursday, May 9 is the date that we procured a new prescription for Riley, and he began taking it on Friday, May 10.  On Thursday, Riley's school nurse called me to let me know that he only had two pills left at school (of the old medication). I told her, "Oh, that's fine, then. He can take one today (Thursday), and one on Friday, and then he won't be taking that medication anymore. He won't need it after that, we're switching meds. As the dream of most parents I had acquired a degree in Software Engineering and joined a company based in USA, the land of braves and opportunity. When I arrived in the USA, it was as if a dream had come true. Here at last I was in the place where I want to be. I decided I would be staying in this country for about Five years in which time I would have earned enough money to settle down in India. My father was a government employee and after his retirement, the only asset he could acquire was a decent one bedroom flat. I wanted to do some thing more than him. I started feeling homesick and lonely as the time passed. I used to call home and speak to my parents every week using cheap international phone cards. Two years passed, two years of Burgers at McDonald's and pizzas and discos and 2 years watching the foreign exchange rate getting happy whenever the Rupee value went down. Finally I decided to get married. Told my parents that I have only 10 days of holidays and everything must be done within these 1 ...

Good morning! A lot of people have asked us what is the best time to workout. There is no “best” time as such, but research has proven that working out in the morning results in better sleep cycles. A study done in Appalachian State University tracked work-out patterns of participants who worked out at 7 am, 1 pm and 7 pm, thrice a week. Results showed that those who worked out at 7 am could sleep longer, and had better sleep patterns (this means that they remained in deep sleep – which is the most relaxing sleep – for longer amounts of time during the night). It also decreased their blood pressure during the day, and improved their stamina (since better sleep leads to higher performance). This does not in ANY WAY mean that working out at any other time of the day is bad. ANY WORKOUT, AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY, IS BETTER THAN NO WORKOUT AT ALL. This should be your motto. Then my wonderful wife Michelle made me a delicious chicken and bacon sandwich and let me take a nice nap in the afternoon! When Leah came home from school we celebrated with her that she has been accepted as the one and only pianist in Middle School Jazz Band for the 3rd session of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp this summer. I am always so happy to see our students at salt grow. Today I got to help our Megan face her fear of hissing cockroaches, Jordan touched a tarantula and Malachi fed a salamander blindfolded sitting very still and following directions. Mr Brian "the Crazy Critter guy" is hands down the most patient teacher I have ever ever met and he blessed us today with lot's of cool and interesting bug and reptile facts. Once again I am overwhelmed at how blessed i am to have so many wonderful children to work with each week and so many awesome women Kim Campbell , Katherine Brown , Sherry Mann Johnson to be there with me. what a wonderful journey it is :)

So, apparently Mr. McIdiot who hit my car last week decided to file a claim against me because he thinks he was parked. Oddly enough our collision occurred in the middle of a main isle. So either he was parked in the middle of an isle when I hit him with my car (still his fault in my book) or (the more logical and absolutely true conclusion) he hit me while leaving the parking isle while entering the main isle and decided that it's better to lie to the insurance agency to try and avoid a rate hike. Have I ever told you how much I hate *** Either way I need him to be found at fault so I can get my car fixed so that I can drive it at night. (The headlight doesn't particularly like pointing at the road. Instead it sort of sprays an unfocused spurt of light everywhere without actually making the road any more visible) Another gem that came out of all of this is that I can't rely on the police to show up to take statements. We sat there for over an hour last week waiting on A cop to show up. We eventu ...

To all my family and friends who sent me birthday wishes today thank-you so much may I tell you all how my day started Makayla greeted me with hi Nana I've done poos what a start to the day. But to be fair she had to go into plaster this afternoon to try to stretch her tendon and straighten her very turned foot and although we had a few tears she was amazing. When we came home she said shall we take it off now. Oh dear. She has a new plaster next week then another the following then specialist will decide if it needs surgery. We all think this will be the end solution but you have to play the game in the public sector over here. To any off you who don't know Makayla is our beautiful granddaughter who is nearly 3 and we are now her guardians from now on we are going to love her every day and hold her close when she is hurting or scared as she does sometimes. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you for posting and wanting to call, but at this point I can't even speak without crying. I spoke with my mom and all I can do is break down and she listening. My head right now is just praying and just being still. As you know when I head starts to remember and just talking to the Lord at this point. I am numb with no words to say. Losing a parent is the hardest thing in life. This coming year has been the heaviest pain that I can ever go through. All I can say Mi Gente cuida tu familia and love each other. We so lack our parents love;-( I lack my dad's love, but the Lord fill in the void that was missing in my heart. But still in the human that we are this is so painful.. this is truly unexpected...

It's March 12. 18 years ago God blessed us with a beautiful baby daughter. Ally Adkisson, you have made our lives so much better. You are such a beautiful and talented young lady. I couldn't have asked for a better daughter. You have had such a successful high school career. You have made so many wonderful friends. You love The Lord. Having a daughter like you makes being a parent look easy. Camille Utsey Adkisson and I love you more than words could ever express. I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. I go on a "Christian service" every week and we go to this Retirement home.. We fellowship and sing and take turns preaching with and to these elders every week. It amazes me some of the stories we hear or they tell us (sometimes more than once).. But it really hits hard when they tell you they look forward to seeing us come in every week, when they tell us they've been inviting others to come to our "Church service".. Some of them have been in there for years and their family either no longer visits them or never has since they were dropped off there.. It really is just a blessing when we can go in there and spend time with these older people.. To see their faces light up as if they were 17 or 18 again, to see their faces that we would come and visit them week after week.. It's amazing how that some of them can't remember what they said 5 minutes before but they remember the stories from so many years ago.. or how they remember our names and where we are from and our majors.. But it really hits home hard ...

So last week N. Korea threatened us with nuclear war. Today they broke the armistice of 1953, and little spoken of is how N. Korea shelled S. Korea last year. Hmmm, any history students here? Does this sound familiar? His name was Hitler in the early 1930's, and everyone thought he was a crazy fanatic running for a less popular office in Germany in the 1930's. But he was persistent, and his radical views though at first bizarre, picked up speed. Once in office he outlawed free elections and eliminated his competition and those who opposed him, not just the Jews as we've all heard. He condemned member of the opposing political parties, *** gypsies, Jews, religious leaders, etc and placed them in concentration camps. The German people were told they were being "rehabilitated" where we found out what was really happening when we liberated those camps. Not even the German people knew. COMING CLEAN From an airline mechanic “For reasons you will understand as you read this I can not divulge my identity. I am an aircraft mechanic for a major airline. I work at one of our maintenance bases located at a large airport. I have discovered some information that I think you will find important. First I should tell you something about the “pecking order” among mechanics. It is important to my story and to the cause to which you have dedicated yourself. Mechanics want to work on three things. The avionics, the engines, or the flight controls. The mechanics that work on these systems are considered at the top of the “pecking order”. Next come the mechanics that work on the hydraulics and air conditioning systems. Then come the ones who work on the galley and other non-essential systems. But at the very bottom of the list are the mechanics that work on the waste disposal systems. No mechanic wants to work on the pumps, tanks, and pipes that are used to store the waste from the lavatories. ...

So heres dinners leftovers again it's so hard to cook for the only one child left at home I've always cooked large family meals As D.J. & I wondered through the isles of the store trying to find small meals for us we became aware how lost we were in this adventure and what we really wanted to eat. We also no longer have Jinger, Julies dog to help with the leftovers and I dont like to waste food just food for thought ~Dar.
