I was sent this under the banner, "The Hypocrasy of the Graham Clan. "Mormonism is a cult." - Billy Graham But after Billy and and his son Frank meet Romney, the conviction that Mormonism is a cult is removed from their website. * (CNN) - Shortly after Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney enjoyed cookies and soft drinks with the Rev. Billy Graham and his son Franklin Graham on Thursday at the elder Graham's mountaintop retreat, a reference to Mormonism as a cult was scrubbed from the website of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. In a section of the website called Billy Graham's My Answer there had been the question "What is a cult?" Answer: "A cult is any group which teaches doctrines or beliefs that deviate from the biblical message of the Christian faith." "Some of these groups are Jehovah's Witnesess, Mormons, the Unification Church, Unitarians, Spritualists, Scientologists, and others," the site continued. No longer. On Tuesday, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association confirmed tha ...
Well we are winding down with only hours to go before we all vote in what IS the most important election of our lives to this point. Edmund Burke once said "all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." I'll take the literary freedom to add that he probably also included them "doing the wrong thing" as well. This past Thursday and Friday, Billy Graham, a Christian leader for whom I have held high regard over the years placed full page ads in the Wall Street Journal, and USA Today respectively through his organization the "Billy Graham Evangelistic Association" following a meeting with Mitt Romney. Without the literal endorsement of a particular candidate, Graham, 93, appeals to voters to "pray with me that America will remain one nation under God." He goes on to share "I believe it is vitally important that we cast our ballots for candidates who base their decisions on biblical principles and support the nation of Israel. I urge you to vote for those who protect the biblical ...
Billy Graham, who is considered one of the most renowned evangelical leaders of the 21st century, recently endorsed Republican candidate Mitt Romney for the office of president. Following a meeting with Romney, Graham’s ministry removed a page from its website that referred to Mormonism as being a “cult.” According to reports, Graham, 93, met with Romney at his home in Montreat, North Carolina, during which the two shared cookies and soft drinks together. The meeting lasted approximately 30 minutes, and concluded with Graham praying with Romney. “I’ll do all I can to help you. And you can quote me on that,” Graham told the Republican candidate, a longstanding Mormon. Graham issued a statement following the meeting. “It was an honor to meet and host Governor Romney in my home today, especially since I knew his late father former Michigan Governor George Romney, whom I considered a friend,” it read. “I have followed Mitt Romney’s career in business, the Olympic Games, as governor of Mass ...
Billy Graham's list of False Churches lnclude Jehovahs witnesses, Mormons, the unification church, unitarians, spiritualists, scientologists, others (?). He endorsed Romney, then scrubbed mormons off his website. Billy has succumbed to the wiles of the world, and we know who this world belongs to. Politics, the realm of the devil!
Yet another reason why there must a clearly defined seperation of church and state; to keep religious prejudice at bay. In order to protect every citizens right to practice the religion of their own chosing. ie, The surprise outage of the flagship global evangelizing organization website comes days before the 2012 presidential election, and on the heels of a widening scandal that opened up when aging evangelism superstar Billy Graham made a widely-heralded non-endorsement of presidential contender Mitt Romney and, soon after, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website scrubbed a page on which Graham identified Mormonism as a "cult", along with the Unification Church and Scientology.
We as intelligent folk should hang our vote on more than just *** marriage and abortion. I am for neither one however, I am not for having healthcare taken away, food stamps and rent subsidies for needy people taken away. Social security and medicare as well as all other entitlement programs cut or eliminated. Before the government got into providing aid for needy people the church did it. I challenge anyone to ask their pastors if there is money in the budget to care for the multitudes that will come asking for help when the government stops. Morality cannot be legislated. Only God can change men's hearts... Vote Republican be prepared to pick up the slack for all those who the government will cut off from receiving assistance. Pastors that support Obama are vilified but it is ok for Billy Graham to remove Mormonism from the list of cults on his website when it had been on it all this time? How convenient. I wonder if Mitt Romney was Jehovah's Witness or a member of the Unification Church would they beco ...
