On the 20 of February 2014, I was able to speak with a co-worker by the name of Vanessa Berino in Sam Pran, Nakhon Pathom Thailand. She is from Dagami, Leyte in the Philippines. Vanessa provided me with firsthand information about her home back in the Philippines. Dagami, a town near the mountains, about 32 kilometers from Tacloban. Was destroyed by the storms following Typhoon Yolanda. Vanessa told me that 100% of the houses in her town are roofless. There have been major floods that destroyed many resources such as food, clothes, and electronics. Vanessa visited her family in Dagami a little over a week ago, and said that since her first visit in December, there had only been a little to no improvement of her town. Schools were destroyed, roofs ripped off leaving all of the students and supplies soaked. Vanessa’s sister worked at an elementary government school in town that was one of schools extremely damaged by the storm. The school had an IT room that provided seven computers and a projector to be ...
On Sunday, March 2nd, Radyo Migrante will revisit the disastrous event that hit Eastern Visayas in the Philippines; the Typhoon Yolanda situation. It has been more than 100 days since Typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan) destroyed most parts of Eastern Visayas. Numerous sentiments of fellow Filipinos in the region have been complaining about how the Philippine government under President BS “Noynoy” Aquino not providing them any assistance, despite of the humanitarian aid they received from different countries around the world. On top of that, the Philippine President has P1 trillion worth of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), also known as Pork Barrel. Could’ve this money been used for relief and rehabilitation of Yolanda survivors? How does Yolanda destruction connected to the Pork Barrel issue? To help us discuss the matter is Retired United Church of Canada Minister Bob McElhinney. He went to the Philippines after Yolanda hit the region, and we’ll speak with us with his experie ...

Weeks after Typhoon Yolanda hit Tacloban City, a video of an Indian Prophet became a viral all over the social media. It was all about 'Warnings for the Philippines.' First, an earthquake; Second, a typhoon that will devastate Leyte; Third, a mysterious illness/disease that will spread all over Pangasinan. Now, we just heard about the third prophecy on Bandila. Could these things be real? Whatever belief we have as of now, let us just be one in Praying for our Nation. Let's exercise our faith in Him. :)

And now for a semi-good story. I was given a number to call so I can request for airlifts for the critical care survivors during the Florida bus crash in Bontoc. Someone gave me a number saying "ito, sundalo, si Manny - matutulungan ka niyan, kilala mo yan." So I call this number late late at night to guarantee that a ride will come and fly sila Abby Sicam, Mylo Cabardo, and the rest to hospitals in Manila. I bugged him and was a bit stern and firm, told him, "Sir, aasahan ko yang helicopter ha ng 5am sa Bontoc." And he was really listo and said, "Yes Ma'am, I guarantee it." I even name dropped a Colonel (Zagala) whom I was calling and who helped us during Typhoon Yolanda and said if wala doon ang chopper, tatawagan ko ang Colonel. And he said, "Ay sige, Ma'am pero ako rin ang tatawagan ni Colonel." So that was that. True enough, when we got to Bontoc, the Air Force was there, available, willing, efficient. They flew everyone as best they could. Done and done. I was so grateful. So I msgd Manny the s ...

PROVINCE OF LEYTE THANKS SECRETARY GAZMIN ON YOLANDA OPERATIONS The Province of Leyte passed a resolution expressing its heartfelt thanks and sincerest gratitude to Defense Secretary Voltaire T. Gazmin for the effort and assistance he rendered in the restoration of peace and order in the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda in November. Resolution No. 2014-14, passed by the Office of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of the Province of Leyte on January 6, 2014, cited the leadership of Secretary Gazmin in the operations of the Department of National Defense and the Office of Civil Defense addressing the preparations and the effects of the typhoon. The resolution also mentioned that Secretary Gazmin stayed in Leyte on November 7-9, 2013 to personally manage the National Risk Reduction and Management Council. According to the resolution, “Secretary Gazmin thereby exposed himself to imminent danger and physical harm for the general welfare of our people.” Typhoon Yolanda, which made landfall on November 8, 2013, cause ...

Fantastic News: the Australian government thru the Dept of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) office of Minister Julie Bishop has awarded Gawad Kalinga $1M Australian dollars to assist in the rehabilitation of Typhoon Yolanda victims. Under the DFAT Memorandum of Agreement, GK would be focusing on the rehabilitation of Palo Leyte! This would include building houses, schools, Community Centers and fishing boats. This will benefit 250 families in Palo. However, more than 60% of the population of Palo are farmers. This means livelihood is not covered in the grant. GK Australia will now endeavour to fill that gap via a massive campaign engaging many volunteers and partners. We are proud to announce that in Melbourne we are partnering with The Migrant Hub headed by Walter Villagonzalo. We thank the Australian government for their generosity and support to the Filipino people. This grant also gives a recognition to GK as a credible, trustworthy and reliable NGO. Thank you Lord for this blessing to the Filipino peop ...
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) may hit the 6,900 level in 2014, according to online brokerage firm COL Financial, which cited positive economic developments being overlooked by investors. COL Financial also said that the current sell-off in the market poses an opportunity to accumulate stocks at good prices. "Due to low interest rates, stocks remain the most attractive peso asset class even though valuations seem expensive relative to historical average. Given the favorable long term outlook of the economy, we believe that the fundamentals will eventually catch up with valuations in 2015 assuming that PSEi remains unchanged for the rest of the year," the company's vice president and head of research, April Tan, said. Expectations of reduced liquidity brought about by the tapering of the US Federal Reserve's bond-buying program triggered the outflow of funds from emerging markets, including the Philippines. Bad news locally, including the destruction caused by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) and soft ...

stays as rehabilitation czar Former Senator Panfilo Lacson was ordered by the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday to comment on the petition questioning the legality of his appointment as the lead person to oversee rehabilitation projects in areas ravaged by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) last November. At the same time, the Court junked the request of petitioner Louis Biraogo to issue a temporary restraining order (TRO) that would have stopped Lacson from continuing his duties as Presidential Assistant for Rehabilitation and Recovery. Biraogo said Lacson's appointment under Memorandum Order 62 must be voided, noting that his task to implement post-disaster rehabilitation programs of the government overlaps with the mandate of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). He said MO 62 violated the legislative power of Congress when it "effectively" amended or modified Republic Act 10121, which created the NDRRMC. The businessman added that Lacson's functions belong to the Secretary of Defense ...

My 99 year old mom in law was finally laid to rest last saturday at Dulag, Leyte. While she had only two children Frank (my dear hubby) and Perla, she had been the matriarch of the Mil-Lauzon Clan almost all her life. Its amazing that despite tremenduous loss of lives during the onslaught of Typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban and her hometown, her Clan is intact. I believe her loving spirit and prayers , in partnership with that of our Almighty Father , saved each one. Fare thee well, our dearest Inay. As they say: "Mission accomplished! ", Inay. We will deeply miss you but are consoled at the thought you can take a long deserved rest in the loving arms of your Creator with your dearest Paquing and son Frank. We love you.
This will be a lengthy but worthily read were warned! What an amazingly, incredible, super, busy day! But we got the job done, did what we had to do, & maybe even did a little bit of improvising on the fly ;) I would overguesstimate an evangelistically speaking number of maybe 500 in attendance today, a safe number would be 400. Every space on a pew was taken (even the front row!) every chair was put to use. We had to put all of the teens up on the 3rd floor & they all sat on the floor or on tables or stood up. On the 1st floor, we couldn't put all the children in one room so we put them in the Jeepney & out in the hallway. We held 4 different children's churches. We had 100+ visitors & a good majority of those visitors were saved! Today was grocery Sunday we gave out a bag of groceries containing rice & sardines. Special guest speaker was former missionary to Japan & current BIMI Far East Director David Harris. We also had 2 Eastern Samar Filipino pastors who gave testimony on how they, their ...

I miss my days when I was still part of the Ateneo Honor Guards. I miss the silent drill. I miss the push-ups. I can do 30 to 50 push-ups then. Now, I can barely do 5--wa! But seriously, we really need to put ROTC back. During disasters such as Typhoon Yolanda, you can form a corp of volunteers by just going out into the field and shout: "Honor Guards Alpha! Form! One! Two! Three!" And you'll get a platoon lining up before you in proper formation in a few seconds. This kind of mental toughness and discipline is what we need during disasters, when the government falls apart, and the only reliable force who can get the job done is the military. But without a corp of volunteers like the ROTC who understands the importance of chain of command and the value of "obey first before you complain", the military will also be crippled because of lack of manpower.
hopeits been busy around here, and I realized its been awhile since I made a little newsletter. I just want to pass on to you what God has been doing here at Hope House Cebu. As you know Typhoon Yolanda hit the Philippines in November, and we were spared here at Hope House. The worst of the storm passed north of us. Leyte Island was hit worst and north Cebu Island. Prior to that, Bohol was hit with a strong earthquake, and there were some fatalities here in Cebu City. Let me share with you, how these two terrible tragedies opened up doors of ministry for Hope House Cebu. The hardest hit area in Cebu City from the earthquake was the slum area of Pasil. We went over there and I arrived to see the bodies of people crushed under fallen chunks of concrete. It was certainly a very sobering moment for me. We bought food and water and distributed those items to people who seemed the most distressed, and I also spent time with people in grief and shock. We started going back to Pasil where there are many children ...
ATOP PARA HA PALO Roofs for Palo Just got back from Palo, Leyte. Thought that I might get stranded when the rain and the winds were really strong at 3 am, early this morning. Havent slept since then; didnt want to wake up to a flooded house. Thank goodness the rains finally let up. Weather there is so different from Manila - its like we were in a different country. It has been three months today, since Typhoon Yolanda. Much work still has to be done, and Ive got lots to post in the next few days. Starting off with what some people said was IMPOSSIBLE: to make "Tiyo Lando" smile. He was always so serious when I first went to Leyte last December. His house was badly damaged due to Typhoon Yolanda, had around five grandchildren living with him, and had to live in a tent beside the church. With your help, "Tiyo Lando" got the roofs he needed. We personally delivered it to his home. And guess what... the impossible... documented below!

There was this story here at fb about a mysterious woman who appeared in a mall warning of an impending catastrophe before super typhoon Yolanda hit Tacloban City and how the people did not believe her,I don't know about that woman but I personally witness a not-so mysterious man actually warn us about taking the necessary precaution as a tropical depression (agaton) was about to hit us, this same man showed up again to warn us of another potential typhoon coming (basyang) this time we we believed him and acted to accordingly, thus we were able to have ZERO casualty during Tropical Storm Basyang (unfortunately i could say the same for Agaton) not so mysterious because I happen to know his's Engr. What the UP Medicine Student Council representatives did in the last GASC is no different from what Mar Roxas did during the height of relief operations for victims of typhoon Yolanda: put narrow-minded politics above the welfare of people in need. After all, isn’t SHS-Palo part of UP Manila? And aren’t the students there medical, nursing, and health sciences students? Aren’t the students of UP Tacloban also disaster victims? A little consideration, if not sympathy, would have been the polite thing to do, rather than exhibit arrogant callousness. Self-proclaimed champions of democracy, whether traditional politicians or “passionate” student leaders, are often flawed by the myopic belief that those who are critical of them do not have the facts right, or are just plain biased. There are enough facts available for everyone. But facts by themselves are NOT enough. They are weighed by personal judgment, based not on other “facts” but on personal principles, and measured against the bar of social ... 10% Off

Philippine economy grew by 7.2% but still down the ladder Reflections from Paseo de Coro Cebu Daily News, January 31, 2014 In yesterday’s report on the economy, the newly created Philippine Statistical Authority (PAS) says that in the last quarter of 2013, despite the devastation brought about by the series of natural disasters that hit the country, the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew in real terms (net of inflation) by 6.5 percent. This paves the way for the annual GDP to post a growth of 7.2 percent. From the production side, the PSA data shows that in 2013 Agriculture grew only by 1.1 percent but Industry went up by 9.5 percent while the Services grew by 7.1 percent. Leading the growth in industry was construction which grew by 11.1 percent, followed by manufacturing with 10.5 percent and by utilities (electricity, gas and water supply) with 4.4 percent. Mining and quarrying registered a negative 2.5 percent growth. In the service sector, growth was led by Financial Intermediation which ...

Pehin Dato Haji Abu Bakar, the Minister of Education, was the guest of honor during the activity. The event began with an aerobics session which was followed immediately by the charity walkathon. At the conclusion of the charity walkathon, a car boot sale was held wherein a variety of food and novelty items were sold. END

Hi! Writing to share a message from humanitarian and musician Michael Franti who was just in the Philippines and sends this message: Attention all midwives: Last week I was in Tacloban, Philippines which was tragically struck by Typhoon Yolanda in November of 2013, resulting in thousands of lives lost and unimaginable damage to homes and buildings. I was visiting with Robin Lim of Bumi Sehat Birthing center, who has started a natural birth center there in the midst of the rubble left by the Typhoon. As we all know when disasters strike, babies still come when they are ready and Robin is in urgent need of experienced midwives who are willing to travel to the Philippines and volunteer for at least one month at a time. Sara and I will be providing grants for midwives through the Do It For The Love Foundation to assist with costs. If you are this person, please contact erinryanlmor if you know of midwives or experienced health professionals who may fit the bill please forward them this post… Thank you. Sin ...
Michel Foucault is right. We are living in carceral or prison society. Almost 200 inmates of a Philippine jail damaged by Super Typhoon Yolanda bolted the prison on Thursday, January 30. It's the second mass jailbreak since the storm hit Leyte the jail warden said. "Issues raised by prisoners were lack of food, poor living condition and slow judicial process," said Senior Superintendent Wilben Mayor, spokesperson of police chief Deputy Director General Alan Purisima. If prisoners are bolting out of jails, people of Tacloban are also bolting put of Tacloban from the neglect of government and lack of economic support.
Good day Everyone, After nearly three months of typhoon Yolanda, this is my very first time to go online, just to THANK everyone who prayed for my safety and extended their helping hand, sent comforting messages and to all those who made me realized that LIFE IS A GIFT from God, and indeed life is worth living. I am a survivor. I lost everything except the love of God and the Blessed Mother, I have the unconditional love of my only brother Gerry, my relatives and friends who have displayed support and generosity. The devastation and the emotional pain i went through is beyond compare. The pain is still there. We were severely devastated and my hometown is beyond description. I have become more prayerful now than before. I can't sleep well. In the middle of the night, i would wake up shedding tears seeing all the devastation that had happened to us and to my hometown. But despite everything, God embraced us even more with His love and guidance. The Blessed Mother continues to cover us with the mantle of h ...

one must not be proud when your place is not hit by calamity like typhoon yolanda, for it doesnt mean that God loves you more or it doesnt mean that they are hit by typhoon yolanda because they are sinners. now all have their shares... only God knows why He allows all these things to happen. let us all pray for the families affected by the flood yesterday here in maasin and other parts of southern leyte.
I see, PAGASA's warning mentions about storm surge and GDACS expounded on it then the story came out in the net. It may have unnecessarily caused panic among coastal residents given the very recent experience in Tacloban and adjacent areas due to the onslaught of Super Typhoon Yolanda. Tropical Storm Basyang is too weak to generate a significant surge height that can be a threat to coastal communities. Perhaps, there's a need for a concerted effort to educate everyone about storm surge to include DRR managers, LGU's and media practitioners in order prevent another Tacloban-like tragedy.
Hey SEAHAWKS Fans and soon to be fans...we need to root for the champs at this Sunday's Superbowl!! 2 SUPERBOWL TRIVIAS: 1. She nurtured Mars' musical talents from a very young age. Cheers to the SEAHAWKS! The 12th MAN IS SOOO READY TO KEEP THE FLAG ON TOP OF THE SPACE NE . ...

Kung hei fat choi to our Chinese friends and acquaintances. 2013 was a distinctive year for me, filled with challenges, changes and blessings, of course. We’ve got the May election, PCL election, Barangay Election then the super Typhoon Yolanda, aside from the day to day workload. It was like a polishing year and at the end of it, you’ll end up shattered yet well- polished. And, as we start the Chinese Lunar Year am looking forward for a more fruitful year, more PPA (programs, projects, activities) that are truly beneficial for my fellow Boronganons, AND LOVE (why not? for inspiration and to dawdle aging hehehe! thought of it since today is the 1st day of the so called love month). Thank you ALL for your continued love ( inclusive of trust and support) you gave me. You are my strength and inspiration. Good day and let’s attract positive chi today and the days to come!

Super Typhoon Yolanda leaving immense havoc in the Province of Capiz. For a period of time, we thought that we’ve lost everything until help from many nations came. Right then, we knew we have to stand up for our fellows and start believing that there is still hope for us. The education sector suffered a lot from the typhoon. Millions or even billions of pesos are needed to repair and construct the school buildings which are partially and totally destroyed. Thus, RMN, your partner in public service spearheads a Fun Run For A Cause dubbed “RMN Dalagan for a Cause” Dalagan para sa edukasyon sang Kabataan. It is a fund raising drive which aims to gather funds from the registration of those who will join the activity in order to help rebuild a DEPED identified school building in Capiz which is hardly hit by ST Yolanda… The FUN RUN Event will be on February 15, 2014. The run will start at the Roxas City bandstand at 6 o’clock in the morning and will end at Laplaya de Roxas, Brgy. Baybay, Roxas City . ...

As many of you know, through your generosity, we were able to send $3,000 for Philippines Relief Aid to help after the devastating typhoon they experienced. Thanks so much for your generosity and prayers that allowed us to help with the huge needs they had there. Report on Don MacKay’s trip to the Philippines in the disaster relief effort for First Love International: This last month and a half has been a blur of activity, details, and communication, since Typhoon Yolanda ripped open a gash in the central Philippine Islands. Commentary: BINAY VS. ROXAS Presidents of various Association of Barangay Captains across the country gathered in the national capital this week, and the touted presidential rivals in 2016 -- Vice President Binay and Interior Secretary Roxas -- took turns in addressing the convention. One could only wonder who between Binay and Roxas gave the bigger "donation" to the national barangay association. --- As of today, Binay and Roxas remain as the only acknowledged contenders for the presidency. For awhile, former senator Lacson was in the radar but seemed to have dropped out following a rift with the DPWH secretary over allegations of overpricing in Typhoon Yolanda rehabilitation. Respect post :-) China which s known to have embroiled with territorial dispute against the Philippines recently gave our country an award of being the best tropical island destination in line with Hongkong as published in Shanghai Daily. It's really warm to feel that they have so much appreciation to our country but I cannot avoid thinking the other side of what's possible. I just think that this might be their way of steering the situation so our hearts be soften and just give up the long fought battle for our rights to territorial claim. If you could still remember, China was one of the early birds who came to the rescue during Typhoon Yolanda and gave aid to the victims. And now, this thing comes in, with the same purpose : to show us that these are FAVORS. Yes, favors that they give out of expectation that we should do the same for them. And so, when they make an action of putting naval ships and prohibiting fishermen navigate the Panatag Shoal, they think it it would be fine for us. I still believe ...
Conceived over a random conversation between friends Ivan Madeira and Javier Penin, the idea was to film a short film about exploring the saying "when Manny fights, the world stops." The original idea looked at involving a group of children trying to find a place where they can watch the fight, and their journey trying to find somewhere to watch the fight. With Pay Per View restrictions, you either wait for a delayed broadcast to come on Cable, or you go and find somewhere that's showing the fight. The aim was during the fight, the focus would be on the people stopping, watching things slow down and all time go to zero as opposed to watching Manny fight. However, the use of child actors changed, when on November 9, Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) the most powerful storm to hit land ever, hit the Philippines and caused an immense amount of devastation and destruction to parts of Visayas, Central Philippines. Film maker Ivan Madeira was out in the Philippines for work and visiting family before, during and after t ...

We are people of God.He made us to worship him , most especially to protect the things he made for us .One of this is our mother nature. Our Mother nature is the source of food we eat everyday ,for the clothing and also for our shelter. It is very important to us so we should take good care of it.If we would not protect our mother nature surely catastrophe will happen.A typhoon is a good example of this.As we all know a typhoon is a strong wind and rain. It is a condition where you cannot avoid and you can’t stop. Last year November 2013 a super typhoon Yolanda landfall in the Philippines. This super typhoon Yolanda hit the region of Visayas particularly in Tacloban Leyte .As I have seen in the television Typhoon Yolanda is really a super typhoon, imagine it can flew a person.I feel very pity for them .Thousands of people died ,lots of houses, buildings and malls has been destroyed and also the livelihood of most of the people there wash out..this typhoon greatly damaged the lives of our c ...

MUST READ (Prophecy) Bro. Vincent Selvakumar with translation by Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj prophesying in April 2013 at Cuneta Astrodome about Bohol earthquake (fulfilled in October 2013) and Typhoon Yolanda, a supertyphoon that hit massively in Samar and Leyte in November came true. Bro. Vincent Selvakumar and Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj made the claim when they made an appearance at the 24th National Prayer Gathering at Cuneta Astrodome in April this year that these dangers will come true if residents won’t repent and pray. “If you don’t repent and pray, God has planned much destruction all over the Philippines which are very disastrous. The cup of God’s wrath over the Philippines is very very disastrous. There will be much disaster all over the land. The Lord will give you over to flood and waters. The Lord will torture your land with typhoons and hurricanes. The Lord will plague the land with diseases. The Lord will punish your land with famine and scattering,” Sadhu said. He says, “Your sins are ve ...

Adopt a School Program (post-Haiyan Efforts) Over the course of less than 24 hours on November 8, 2013, Typhoon Yolanda (internationally referred to as Haiyan) cut a swath of destruction across the central part of the Philippines, severely affecting areas in Eastern, Central, and Western Visayas, and beyond to the northern part of Palawan. Nine (9) of the country’s 17 administrative regions have been affected by the typhoon, covering 12,122 barangays in 44 provinces, 591 municipalities and 57 cities. Along the southern coast of Eastern Samar and the coastal towns of the Leyte Gulf in Eastern and Western Samar and Leyte, there was devastating damage due to a storm surge that caused the destruction of many private houses, businesses and public buildings. " Happy New Year...Boom". I took this picture at the Mall Of Asia amidst our effort to recover from the recent super Typhoon Yolanda which devastated the Eastern Visayas. In the foreground are constructions of high rise buildings, a manifestation of our dream to become a "BOOMing" economy in the future and a recreational facility to keep our spirit high despite of that unparalleled catastrophe that we experienced in our country. The blue and red colors symbolizes our flag while the Ferris Wheel symbolizes the sun with eight rays in it. I hope a good new year for us Filipinos. I will keep posting pictures that would dramatize everyone's life. It takes a click to capture a once in a lifetime event that would tell a story beyond our imagination. Keep shooting guys! God bless us all!

The Leyte Normal University: A Post-Typhoon Assessment The Leyte Normal University, the premiere teacher-training institution of Eastern Visayas, did not escape the wrath of Typhoon Yolanda last November 8, 2013. The super-typhoon wrought havoc on most of the infrastructures of the university. Worst hit was the Student Center which lost its entire roof. The Brillo Hall is in a miserable state after it lost most of its windows and walls and part of the roof flew away. Other damages include the following: 1. A portion of the roof of the Ledesma Building (CTE) is gone; 2. All the glass windows of the Cashier's Office have been shattered; 3. The facade of the HRDC Building is a total wreck; 4. The roof of the Dormitory Building was partly destroyed; 5. The small Food Lab Building has no more roof. Some of the other buildings sustained only minimal and insignificant damage. But security is threatened by the destruction of part of the perimeter concrete fence at the back of the ORC Building. The two big trees, ...

Yolanda Livelihood Reconstruction Project with SAIS RED in Samar December 25, 2013 Next year we will bring our advocacy in Good Goat Nutrition and Good Genetics to the next level. We have partnered with DA RFU 8 in their SAIS RED project in Samar. We will bring the dairy cross we have nurtured in Alaminos to the countryside in a project we are calling in Alaminos as the Yolanda Livelihood Reconstruction Project. We are donating 10 heads of pregnant Anglo Saanen and Triple cross doelings to SAIS RED. Hopefully we can replicate our success in milking goats in Alaminos with our no nonsense approach. The importance of good goat nutrition through the tree legume Indigofera was emphasized. This year we donated to SAIS RED, 500 sachet of 20 grams Indigofera seeds. This would be a nice opportunity to prove all our statement in our advocacy in the countryside, that goat dairying is a viable, sustainable and profitable enterprise with good goat nutrition and good genetics. With the right farmers and with Dr. Wi ...

It's Christmas again and I'm thankful to God the biggest blessing I received, "KEEPING MY FAMILY SAFE IN TACLOBAN PHILIPPINES" from typhoon yolanda. I'd like to thank also the people who helped us financially so my parents, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces can have roof back above their heads to shelter them from cold rainy nights and excruciating heat from the sun during the day. A million thanks to the Filipino Community here in Australia, The Multicultural Women's Group, APA and CFI who raised funds for our love ones in Leyte, thank you to Ate Nida Hough, Ate Zoraida Hazel, Ate Myrna Williams, Ate Lilia McKinon and most of all to Carole Williams my late brother-in-law's sister who lives in UK who made all the trouble just to help. Your love and financial assistance made a lot of difference to our family in Tacloban. I've been having a lot of dear Santa jokes asking him for sat phones among others...but I was only kidding. What I really want for Christmas is for everyone to support 7107 International Music Festival... because this is where I am raising funds for my boat rebuilding, home rebuilding, agriculture rehabilitation, and medical missions for the victims of typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). I just want the opportunity to help. That's all I've ever wanted. Thank you for your support! And for those who supported our previous missions from operation Santa, to c130 relief plane rides, to lending us your planes and choppers, to 40ft container trucks, to Norwegian vessels cargo ships, to millions of bucks worth fuel we hit you up for, to setting up communications, to shelter, and all the medical good/ relief supplies we purchased with your donations-you gave our people hope again...and relief they can count on! Let this event be a reminder that music moves and help is on the way! Merry Christmas from the Executive Producers ...

Merry Christmas EVERYONE! This picture was taken in Macatunao, one of the islands in Pan de Azucar in the municipality of Concepcion in Northern Iloilo. I was very lucky to have been given a chance to come along with Doc Raul Banias and her dedicated wife, Doc Nandie Joy Layson-Moreno Banias during one of their regular visits in the area. I must say that it was an eye-opener for me. That despite the devastation of typhoon Yolanda, they probably are gonna celebrate Christmas with more purity in their heart and more love in their homes. The broken coconut tree can become their Christmas tree, the bright smile of the children can be stars around the tree, the coming together and helping each other in their attempt to rehabilitate is actually what HE desires from all of us. There is so much symbolism in this picture and the more i look at it, the more I am convinced that Christmas is a great equalizer. P.S I slightly "oil-painted" the picture to get the greeting-card effect.
:D Survivors of Super-Typhoon Yolanda will still celebrate the Birth of our one and only savior Jesus Christ! :D Don't think that Christmas is about noche buena or giving exchange gifts, Christmas is about the LOVE who came down to rescue us. :D And Let the wise seek Him. :)

ANG AMING KWENTO: SOMETHING TO SHARE: A once in a lifetime experience that I will surely never forget (December 18-21 2013). When Typhoon Yolanda struck our country and seeing the news how our countrymen in Visayas were devastated,I said to myself "sana makapunta ako duon at sana makatulong ako sa mga kababayan natin..". And God answered my prayer... December 18-21 2013 are the dates that I will always treasure in my heart. November, me and my wife were thinking of something how we could gather donations for the victims and also that month when Dra Pearl Diroy inform me na magkakaroon sila nang Medical Mission. Hindi na ako nag dalawang isip na mag volunteer coz I know that this is a calling from God. Why??? Dahil iniisip pa lang namin dalawa kung papaano makararating sa mga nabiktima ang mga donation... and he answered "sumama ka duon at para kayo mismo ang makapag abot...
