So excited to interview Benjamin Crump, attorney for Sybrina Fulton & Tracy Martin - parents of the late Trayvon Martin, tomorrow.
February 26, 2012 has been in my heart all day as my mind tries to avoid the reality of what has transpired since that day, Jordan Davis, Marlon Brown, Kendrick Johnson, no justice no sleep. I'm sad, every time I hear February 26 my heart skips a beat thinking about the bullet that lodged in a heart that no longer beats. Trayvon Martin. Inspired our nation to work toward social progress and true equality for all of our children. You changed our world. The effects are not all visible yet as progress can sometimes move slowly but the moral arch bends toward justice. I was listening to a song last night and heard a four letter word- HOPE. Where is my hope? My hope is in the people this movement inspired directly, in Sybrina Fulton, Tracy Martin, Jahvaris, Benjamin Crump, Daryl Parks, Natalie Jackson, Michael Skolnik, My students: Kendra Neal, Jason Reed, Candy Churchill, Stanley Hardy, Chad Butler, Teresa Berger, Sasha Campbell, Jamie Foxx. I watched Sybrina, Tracy, and Jahvaris lead a cause with gr ...
Tracy Martin, Sybrina Fulton and attorney Benjamin Crump, address the community at a Stop The Violence rally, in Tracy's hometown, of East St. Louis, Illinois.
Trayvon Martin's mother (Sybrina Fulton) and brother (Jahvaris Fulton) have taken the witness stand, and both of them have told the expected lies about who they heard calling for help on the telephone recording. Meanwhile, the judge denied a request by Zimmerman's defense attorney's to show the jury a video tape in which Martin's brother, last year, said he couldn't tell who was calling for help. The video probably would have made it clear that his apparent confidence now is intentionally deceptive. If you haven't been keeping track, Zimmerman's father, Tracy Martin, initially told reporters "That is not my son" when they played for him the audio recording of someone calling for help the night Trayvon was shot. A few weeks later, after Tracy had been in consultation with attorney Benjamin Crump, he reversed himself and began claiming that the person screaming for help was Trayvon, after all! Some time went by, and witness testimony came forth that made it abundantly clear that Trayvon Martin had been bash ...

Trayvon Martin shooting trial starts 5 - 10 - 13 The US trial of a neighborhood watchman who shot dead an unarmed black teenager in a case that sparked protests and claims of racial profiling has kicked off with jury selection. George Zimmerman, 29, faces a charge of second-degree murder for killing Trayvon Martin, as the 17-year-old walked with candy in his pocket through a gated Florida community on February 26, 2012. Zimmerman - who has pleaded not guilty - sat in the dock in the Seminole County courthouse as Judge Debra Nelson, together with lawyers for both sides, began the process of picking six jurors from a pool of potentials, about 200 of whom lined up on Monday. Martin's parents, meanwhile, expressed relief that the trial was starting and called for peace as proceedings got under way. "We are seeking justice for our son and a fair trial," father Tracy Martin told reporters alongside his ex-wife Sybrina Fulton and family lawyer Benjamin Crump. George Zimmerman to be charged in Trayvon Martin shooting, official says By Sari Horwitz, Updated: Wednesday, April 11, 1:46 PM Florida special prosecutor Angela Corey plans to announce as early as Wednesday afternoon that she is charging neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in the shooting of Trayvon Martin, according to a law enforcement official close to the investigation. It was not immediately clear what charge Zimmerman will face. Martin, 17 and unarmed, was shot and killed Feb. 26 by Zimmerman, who said he was acting in self-defense. Police in Sanford, Fla., where the shooting took place, did not charge Zimmerman, citing the state’s “stand your ground” law. Corey’s office released a statement saying it would hold a news conference “to release new information regarding the Trayvon Martin shooting death investigation” at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Jacksonville, Fla. Benjamin Crump, who is representing the Martin Family, said this week that Corey’s office had asked where Trayvon’s pa ...
