Good morning, y'all! Today is the debut of the NBA regular season. There are 30 teams reaching for that one prestigious goal: the NBA championship! Out of 30 teams, 12 of the teams have African American head coaches. They are Jason Kidd of the Brooklyn Nets, Mike Brown of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brian Shaw of the Denver Nuggets, Maurice Cheeks of the Detroit Pistons, Mark Jackson of the Golden State Warriors, Doc Rivers of the Los Angeles Clippers, Larry Drew of the Milwaukee Bucks, Monty Williams of the New Orleans Pelicans, Mike Woodson of the New York Knicks, Jacque Vaughn of the Orlando Magic, Dwane Casey of the Toronto Raptors, and Tyrone Corbin of the Utah Jazz. Only Doc Rivers has a ring when he won the title in 2008 when he coached the Boston Celtics while Jason Kidd is the only coach who won a title as a player when he did it in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks. Brian Shaw finally got a head coaching job that was long overdue. Since he was in the shadow of legendary coach Phil Jackson, he should b ...

Mavs to ink Israeli point guard Gal Mekel to minimum Mark Deeks of ShamSports later confirmed the deal, and added that its length would be three seasons. The Mavs intend to sign Mekel, who played two seasons of NCAA basketball at Wichita State, to a multi-year deal at the league minimum, Stein said, once the league moratorium for new contracts is lifted on July 10. Mekel has played in Europe since the 2008-09 season, beginning with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Most recently though, he was with Maccabi Haifa, defeating the former squad for the Israeli Basketball Super League championship, 86-79 earlier in June. That feat, combined with averages of 13.3 points and 5.4 assists, helped him earn his second Super League MVP award, the first coming in 2011. He was previously named Super League Rising Star in 2009. A previous report by Stein said he had drawn attention from the Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, Atlanta Hawks, Indiana Pacers and Memphis Grizzlies, before reaching an agreement with the Mavs. Given the minimum ...
Maurice "Mo" Williams (born December 19, 1982, in Jackson, Mississippi) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association. After a successful high school career at Murrah High School, Williams attended college at the University of Alabama where he led his team as a freshman to a 27-8 record, and also shared an SEC regular season championship. After two solid seasons at Alabama, Williams entered the 2003 NBA Draft, and was selected as the 47th pick by the Utah Jazz. The following year he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks as a free agent. Williams was given the starting point guard position after Milwaukee traded their former starting point guard, T.J. Ford to the Toronto Raptors. This movement opened up a chance for Williams to make a name for himself not only on the Milwaukee Bucks, but in the NBA as well. Williams averaged over 30 minutes a game, as well as other career achievements. On August 13, 2008, Williams was a part of a three- ...
proud of copeland - The Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, Milwaukee Bucks, Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelicans, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Toronto Raptors are all interested in Chris Copeland who received a qualifying offer from the New York Knicks yesterday. - The Milwaukee Bucks have strong interest in J.R. Smith and have enough cap space to outbid the Knicks. The Detroit Pistons and the Phoenix Suns are interested in him as well. The New York Knicks extended a qualifying offer to Pablo Prigioni, making him a restricted free agent.

Rockstarpoetry (Official) NBA Recap: Bucks ride Monta Ellis in overtime, surge past Raptors The Toronto Raptors 114 (23-37, 8-21 away) Milwaukee Bucks 122 (29-28, 15-14 home) Milwaukee, Wisconsin -- Monta Ellis did it -- again. Ellis scored six of his 23 points in overtime and Ersan Ilyasova and Brandon Jennings added five apiece in the extra period to spark the Milwaukee Bucks to a 122-114 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night. Ellis was the star of the Bucks' 110-107 victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night. He scored 27 points, but it was his last shot, a 3-pointer at the buzzer, that sealed the win. Against Toronto, Ellis was 9 of 18 from the floor and had five assists and rebounds and three steals. "We played hard and found a way to finish the game," Ellis said. "These last few games, I'm just taking what the defense is giving me." Ellis likes the impact that newly acquired J.J. Redick has had. "Adding J.J. to the team stretches the defense and opens up a lot of things for Bra ...

My take, what else should they do prepare for the playoffs? NOT!
