Tom Hardy Heath Ledger Tom Ledger Dark Knight Rises Christian Bale Christopher Nolan Anne Hathaway Dark Knight Morgan Freeman Liam Neeson Gary Oldman Michael Caine Cillian Murphy Aaron Eckhart Marion Cotillard Bruce Wayne Michelle Pfeiffer Al Ghul
Tom Hardy's Bane was a better performance than Heath Ledger's Joker.
Somebody give me a Marvel movie villain better than Heath Ledger's Joker or Tom Hardy's Bane
Every line said by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight and Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises is a quote.
Probably in the minority but for me Tom Hardy plays a better villain than Heath Ledger did.
Heath Ledger would have been awesome. Tom Hardy fits the bill, too. Female lead paladin would be Kristen Ritter.
Heath Ledger in Dark Knight is two. Tom Hardy in The Revenant is three
I like Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Hardy but I never watch Brokeback Mountain and I hear they all in that lol
The best batman series ever is The Dark Knight series. No actor will ever top Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Morgan Freeman.
Wow can you believe Christopher Nolan has worked with Tom Hardy, Leonardo Dicaprio, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale..and now harry :D :D !
Unreal tbf that two greatest villain of all time; Heath Ledger as The Joker and Tom Hardy as Bane came from Christopher Nolan films. Mad
This list may take some time. But you can start it w/ Tom Hardy, Heath Ledger (while still alive), & Mark Wahlberg
Bane & The Joker, Tom Hardy & Heath Ledger, unreal! 🔥 . Especially with Bane portraying his character without use of his face. Talent.
Someone spliced Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy's faces together and now I have found the true meaning of life bye
Don't you kind of feel like Tom Hardy just got all the jobs that would have gone to Heath Ledger?
I totally agree about the Dark Knight Trilogy but how much of that was Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy
Heath Ledger's Joker is probably the greatest Villain of all time, but Tom Hardy's Bane is hands down the coolest.
Smh thank God for Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan. And Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy. Because these movies lol.
Morgan Freeman, Heath Ledger, Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Margot Robie, JD Williams (watch The Wire) are my picks
I just love the villains! Heath Ledger set the bar really high for any movie villian & like I said earlier I'm a big fan of Tom Hardy
Heath Ledger was originally meant to star in Fury Road instead of Tom Hardy
I feel bad for people that think that Heath Ledger was a better Batman villain than Tom Hardy
I love Heath Ledger, but I also love Tom Hardy.
I think Tom Hardy and Heath Ledger. I know those are boring answers, but they are incredible.
How dope of a Batman movie would it have been to have Heath Ledger's Joker & Tom Hardy's Bane in the same movie terrorizing Gotham.
Daily Comic Book Force Update: It has been 6 years since Heath Ledger's astounding performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight and people have been wondering for a long time as to who could possibly fill in the shoes of the Clown Prince of crime. Well, we might have our answer in Jared Leto, who is currently in talks to appear as The Joker in 2016's Suicide Squad. We first found out that Suicide Squad would be directed by David Ayer from Fury and that various actors such as Ryan Gosling, Will Smith and Tom Hardy were in talks to be in the film. Now, this awesome news has been dropped that Leto might be The Joker? Sweet! Jared Leto is definitely a talented actor and has shown to be able to conform to the character in whatever film he's playing, be it gaining weight to act in Chapter 27 or losing weight to act in Dallas Buyers Club. Reports said that The Joker was originally not meant to be part of Suicide Squad but was added into the script later on by Ayer. This would make sense in the event that Warner B ...
I don't care what anyone says... Tom Hardy's Bane was just as menacing and scary Heath Ledger's Joker.
correction. Cillian Murphy, Heath Ledger, and Tom Hardy are the dream team
Director of the day: Christopher Nolan, born on July 30th 1970. He is in my mind one of the very best directors ever and I have loved all his films, but narrowed it down to 4 and only 1 Batman film. Insomnia (2002) Starring Al Pacino, Robin Williams and Hilary Swank. The Prestige (2006) starring Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johansson and Michael Caine. Nominated for 2 academy awards. The Dark Knight (2008) starring Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhard, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Morgan Freeman. Nominated for 8 academy awards and won 2 for sound editing and supporting actor (Ledger). Inception (2010) starring Leonardo Dicaprio, Joseph Gordon-Lewitt, Ellen Page, Ken Watanabe, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Michael Caine, Pete Postlethwaite and Marion Cotillard. Nominated for 8 academy awards and won 4 for Visual Effects, sound editing, sound mixing and cinematography. What are the M4's favorite films with this director.
Bradley Cooper was better in American Hustle. Liam Neeson, Heath Ledger, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman were better in Batman.
If were being honest here... Heath Ledger, Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman all outshined Christian Bale in the last 2 Dark Knight…
Tom Hardy as Bane or Heath Ledger as The Joker?! Tough call if you ask me
The Scarecrow is Cillian Murphy. Hot. The Joker is Heath Ledger. Hot. Two-Face is Aaron Eckhart. Hot. And Bane is Tom Hardy. HAWT.
Just watched Dark Knight Rises for the first time.wow I am forever changed Now I can't decide who I like better; Heath Ledger as the Joker or Tom Hardy as Bane...
All faced off with the Batman! Tommy Lee Jones was Two-Face, Tom Hardy was Bane and (of course) the late Heath Ledger played the Joker.
The batman trilogy is epic. Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Heath Ledger, Tom Hardy and Christian Bale are so class
Heath Ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Aaron Eckhart, and Christian Bale. And people wonder why I love Batman.
Its hard to picture Heath Ledger as the Joker after watching Brokeback Mountain. Hard to picture Christian Bale as Batman after watching American Psycho. Now watch Bronson and picture Tom Hardy as Bane. Must watch, great british movie
Tom Hardy as Bane, Heath Ledger as The Joker, Marion Cotillard as Talia, Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul... Christopher Nolan, you genius.
Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow, Liam Neeson as Ra’s Al Ghul, Heath Ledger as the Joker, Tom Hardy as Bane. Christopher Nolan sure can pick em.
The Superhero movies are deffinately getting better actors for their villians: Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Heath Ledger, and now Guy Pearce and Christopher Eccleston in the new Ironman and Thor movies!
Ok let's try another one lol top ten movie roles! Here is mine in no particular order. 1. Heath Ledger as Joker 2. Tom Hardy as Bane 3. Sly Stallone as Rocky 4. Al Pacino as Scarface 5. Al Pacino as Michael Corleone 6. Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday 7. Robert Englum as Freddy Krueger 8. Ben Stiller as White Goodman 9. Christian Bale in The Fighter 10. Denzel Washington in Training Day Honorable mentions Robert Downey as Tony Stark and also in Tropic Thunder Scar from Lion King Jeremy Renner in The Town The clown from It Magneto in Xmen First Class Gerard Butler as King Leonidas
My list of the best english actors: Ian Mckellen, Christopher Lee, Orlando Bloom, Liam Neeson, Andrew Lincoln, Rowan Atkinson, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Simon Pegg, Alan Rickman, Michael Gambon, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Jude Law, Michael Cane, Ralph Fienne, Tom Hardy, Sean Conneroy, Gary Oldman and John Cleese. England might not do most things properly but by far we have the best movie actors of all time!
The voices in my head: Pinky(from Animaniacs); Kermit the Frog; Ray Romano ; Adam Sandler; Don Pardo(SNL announcer); Michael J Fox; Cleveland Brown; Tim the Bear; Stitch(Lilo & Stitch); Dave Coulier ; George Costanza; Batman(Christian Bale); Joker(Heath Ledger); Bane(Tom Hardy); Pee Wee Herman, plus various impressions of people I meet everyday. I know I'm leaving some off. If you've ever heard me do something that not on this list, let me know. I'm trying to make a list for a reason.
TDKR gets better and better the more I watch it. Tom Hardy is just mind blowing. JUST below Heath Ledger in terms of character work.
I really liked Tom Hardy's Portrayal of Bane the combined stories of Knightfall and No Man's land was brilliantly done.
"The Dark Knight" Trilogy Christopher Nolan gave us the best "Batman" films. With the help of his "Batman" fanatic younger brother Jonathan Nolan, and with the help of screenwriter David S. Goyer these films were written to give us a darker more serious tone. We see our hero begin, fall, and rise. With such power house performances from Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, the late Heath Ledger, Tom Hardy, Liam Neeson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Morgan Freeman these films are great to watch over and over. Tim Burton almost completed a "Batman" trilogy but left before the third one was made. Joel Schumacher almost completed a trilogy but due to "Batman and Robin" being a box office bomb the third one was scrapped. As Nolan said "The only way to me that made sense was in a more realistic tone, and taking on the idea of symbolism. The take on the idea that [Bruce Wayne] would see himself as a symbol who would motivate the good of Gotham to actually start working on their own, so he would be a catalyst ...
My review of The Dark Knight Rises: Four anxiously long years, we waited to see what Nolan had in store for the next endeavor in Gotham City. There was lots of buildup especially considering the untimely death of Heath Ledger as he was the best part of "The Dark Knight". But July came and by now, we all know how great of a film it is. It's one of the most epic endings to a trilogy I've seen since "Lord of the Rings". Eight years after the end of the last movie, Bruce Wayne now lives a solitary life in his mansion not having fought crime in forever. Elsewhere, a master mercenary by the name of Bane is planning something big on the citizens of Gotham. Wayne must suit up once again and team up with the newley introduced Catwoman to keep the city safe after many years. The plot has a lot of twists and turns that I can't spoil but are excellently pulled off. The script remains rock solid and how it brings everything full circle is astounding. Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, and Tom Hardy were phenominal in thei ...
my fellow movie lovers...I have a burning issue..please help me...who was/Is better in the Dark Knight? Joker (Heath Ledger) or Bane (Tom Hardy)...
My two favorite actors are Tom Hardy and Heath Ledger
Fave actors are Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy. Both amazing actors and both have been villains in Batman (The Joker and Bane).
Tom Hardy, Bain - by my FAVORITE ARTIST EVER.. Cory Smith .. he also did my Heath Ledger - joker.
"What can be more menacing than Heath Ledger's Joker or Tom Hardy's Bane? Someone with a friggin' Muppet!"
Tom Hardy is my favourite male actor that's still alive, dead actors it's gotta be Heath Ledger come on!
Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy are on completely different levels of acting to everyone else.
we all know Heath Ledger as the Joker was better than Tom Hardy as Bane, right?
No, Tom Hardy as Bane was fantastic but Heath Ledger was just unreal and no that's not just because he's dead..
Gonna watch 'This Means War' even though I have no interest in the movie itself. That makes Tom Hardy a new actor in my list of "Actors I'd watch in a movie just to see the actor himself". Other actors in this list include: Christian Bale, Jude Law, Edward Norton, Heath Ledger, and (maybe) Ethan Hawke.
I told u didn't I. This guy is some actor.don't even want to compare him with Heath Ledger... but loved him in Dark Knight Rises & loved him in warrior. Tom Hardy.. you can add one more no. to your fan
Yeah! I am a huge fan of Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy! Their acting was far far better than scarecrow!
This is just my opinion but...I think Tom Hardy did just as good a job acting as Bane, as Heath Ledger did as the joker. They just played different characters
A lot people get obsessed with the actors who play the villian in Batman. For example, Tom Hardy and Heath Ledger..
I've decided to make the villain role face negotiable! Personal choices are Tom Hardy, Heath Ledger, or Joseph Gordon-Levitt! PLEASE message if you're interested and if you're not, share! He's super important to Jovie's storyline!
If I could remotely look like Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Heath Ledger or Tom Hardy or Henry Cavill then that would be much appreciated thanks
Tom Hardy is my new Heath Ledger, and if he dies too ill prob just have to kill myself
Ok so I finally saw The Dark Knight Rises and it was awesome, cant say it was better than The Dark Knight because I enjoyed them both very much, cant say the same about Batman Begins though, I can say, howeve,r that Tom Hardy was just as good of a villan as Heath Ledger.
Christian Bale..Gary Oldman..Tom Hardy..Joseph Gordon-Levitt..Anne Hathaway..Marion Cotillard..Morgan Freeman..Michael Caine & Christopher Nolan...I have waited for that movie for 4 years..Miss u Heath Ledger...Thank you..U made my day :) "The Dark Knight Rises" ...Mission accomplished!!
Anyone wanna be a twisted villain with a Tom Hardy or Heath Ledger face? Promise it'll be awesome.
Tom Hardy on following Heath Ledger as a Batman villain. Tom Hardy talks about the pressure of playing a villain in The Dark Knight Rises after the Oscar win...
Heath Ledger was unbelievable as the Joker, but the more and more I watch Dark Knight Rises the more I love Tom Hardy's Bane. So amazing...
Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy's acting in the last 2 Batman movies is ridiculous. That's acting at it's absolute finest.
Who's a bigger movie star, dead or alive. Heath Ledger, or Tom Hardy?
Tom Hardy was better tha. Heath Ledger deal with it. Yeah, I said it.
"Tom Hardy played an excellent Bane, but in my opinion, his Bane was not as memorable as Heath Ledger's Joker." So much truth in this quote, it's ridiculous.
Tom Hardy is the new Heath Ledger. Lawless.awesome movie!!
shivsayz Kinda hard to top Heath ledger's performance as the Joker, but Tom Hardy's portrayal of Ban8wtWE
My brand new segment on the top 5 best films of my top 5 favorite actors. 1) Micheal Fassbender - 2) Tom Hardy - 3) Ryan Gosling - 4) Paddy Considine - 5) Joaquin Pheonix Plz comment and subscribe.
batman-nolanverse: Heath Ledger on the set of The Dark Knight (2008) and Tom Hardy on the set of The Dark Kni…
Seriously trying not to compare Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy, but.cAkPcF
first Heath Ledger (Joker) and now Tom Hardy (Bane). Christopher Nolan really knows how to turn handsome heroes into powerful villains!
Batman Villains, Real active names of the Villains: - Heath Ledger is/as The Joker -Aaron Eckhart is/as Two-Face -Tom Hardy is/as Bane -Anne Hathaway is/as Catwoman -Johnny Depp or David Tennant is/as The Riddler -Philip Setmour Hoffman or Bob Hoskins is/as The Penguin -Kristen Bell is/as Harley Quinn and I dont know about the new Mr.Freeze yet
ahh i see, Tom Hardy played Bane really good but i still prefer The Joker (Heath Ledger)
I feel bad for Tom Hardy for having to follow Heath Ledger as the Joker, because the guy is tremendous as Bane
Tom Hardy's Heath Ledger's all day. People should be raving about his performance. Best part of
Batman = very good... Tom Hardy's voice makes the film and I'm sorry but he did such a good job I wasn't even bothered about batman, just more bane... Only thing that let it down was the carryover of cast members from inception. It hurts the suspension of disbelief... Was half expecting leo to pop out at any moment... Other than that, top film... Heath ledger has nothing on bane... Tom hardy got to act with his eyes and his voice And I even think he did such a good job as to steal the voiceover crown from JEJ's vader, besides he wasn't just the voice, he was there in the flesh too. Tom hardy deserves an Oscar for that performance and failing that he should be given Heath Ledgers since it was clearly a far better performance by Tom!
A lot of similarities between Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy. I can see why Nolan liked both these guys
After seeing TDKR I actually thought it was good.. Um.. Tom Hardy as Bane kicked *** . I think his performance was way superior to Heath Ledger's Joker.. (Then again, I'm not a fan of Heath and I like Hardy anyway) But uh.. All in all.. Decent movie.. Tom Hardy's Bane is Greater than Heath Ledger's joker... In my eyes.
just saw "The Dark Knight Rises" and I considered to be the greatest movie of the year so far and will definitely remain of the greatest films of this entire year! I strongly recommend that anyone go see film. Even if you are not a Dark Knight fanatic, but if you enjoy just seeing a great movie, then i high urge you go see this! I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this film from the amazing performance of the entire cast to the storyline itself. Tom Hardy's performance of Bane equally matched Heath Ledger's performance in "The Dark Knight" . Also, i was extremely satisfied with Anne Hathaway's performance of Catwoman, even though it felt as though many people felt there was no need for the character itself. But yet again, it's Anne Hathaway so that should pretty much have you sold on the idea in the first place! Anyway, i love this film and I think everyone should go see this masterpiece, unless you don't have access to a movie theatre which kinda stinks! So go enjoy this film and have some chocolate ...
After watching the Dark Knight Rises I feel Tom Hardy's performance was much better than the Jokers. In fact, Heath Ledger is dead to me.
Heath Ledger's Joker may go down in history as the cinematic Batman villain, but could the Clown Prince of Crime throw a punch? That is the gap Tom Hardy fills in "
The Dark Night Rises... Best movie since The Dark Night. Christan Bale is an acting god and Tom Hardy did just as good as Heath Ledger. Christopher Nolan will forever be a legend.
Who would win in a fight? Heath Ledger as Joker or Tom Hardy as Bane?
Bane vs Joker. Tom Hardy vs Heath Ledger. Honestly I think Ledger had a better character to work w/but Hardy is an amazing physical actor.
Tom Hardy you have done a great job but sorry you have no match for Heath Ledger..
Perhaps one of the most disturbing dialogs of a movie villain, which was performed by Tom Hardy nearly as great as Heath Ledger did as the Joker: Bane: Theatricality and deception are powerful agents to the uninitiated... but we are initiated, aren't we Bruce? Members of the League of Shadows! Bane: [Lifts Batman by the neck] And you betrayed us! Bruce Wayne: You were excommunicated... by a gang of psychopaths. Bane: [viciously beats Batman and throws him to the ground] I am the League of Shadows and I am here to fulfill Ra's Al Ghul's destiny! You fight like a younger man, with nothing held back. Admirable, but mistaken. Bane: [Batman uses an EMP device to cut the lights] Oh, you think darkness is your ally. You merely adopted the dark; I was born in it. Molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING! [grabs Batman from the shadows and continues to maliciously beat him] Bane: The shadows betray you, they belong to me. [repeatedly pun ...
Who do you think is a better villian in the batman series? Joker played by Heath Ledger, God rest his soul, or Bane played by Tom Hardy. Me I think Bane is on top.
Saw The Dark Knight Rises, it was very good but not as good as the last Batman movie. Tom Hardy (Bain) as the bad guy can't compete with Heath Ledger's (Joker) performance. Also, Bain was difficult to understand at times, but overall very good.
despite Tom Hardy being amazing as Bane, i've decided Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker is hard to beat!
After his new version of the dark, twisted Joker (Heath Ledger), the frightening, intimidating Bane (Tom Hardy) and the clever Catwoman
admittedly I did think Heath Ledger was better in the part than Tom Hardy, and Bane's voice was silly
Someone the other day said Tom Hardy's performance wasn't on the same level as Heath Ledger's cos he added his own spin on The Joker
And everyone thought no one could outclass Heath Ledger's portrayal of a batman villain. Tom Hardy was well on par
""Heath Ledger's Joker or Tom Hardy's Bane?" Joker fam!" « Joker was serious but Bane all day!!
Some men just want to watch the world burn. Tom Hardy as Bane = Heath Ledger as Joker Fantastic job by both...
Tom Hardy makes an amazing Villan, but Heath Ledger will always be the best in my eyes
If "The Dark Knight Rises" did anything for audiences, it likely reminded them how much they missed Heath Ledger's Joker. Bane (Tom Hardy) was a wonderful big screen villain, but Hardy's performance was doomed to be compared to Ledger's twisted … Continue reading →
My review of Dark Knight Rises is very simple. It was the culmination of the greatest superhero story ever. It was equally as good as the Dark Knight and Bane is an incredibly evil villain. Tom Hardy is not as great as Heath Ledger obviously. But Bane is an equal to the Joker. This is my opinion and thus factual. If you disagree with this you are wrong and I am right.
Watched The Dark Knight Rises (TDKR). Will watch it again. That's how good it is. Christopher Nolan is a frickin' genius story teller. People who are trying to compare this with TDK, please get a life, both are different movies. For those who haven't watched it yet, kindly refresh your memories by watching "The Batman Begins". Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Anne Hathaway are the surprise packages. Michael Caine is BRILLIANT. Morgan Freeman is witty and intense as usual. Gary Oldman does justice to his role and Marion Cotillard is enigmatic. Tom Hardy's Bane is not the villain or Batman's nemesis and should not be compared to Heath Ledger's Joker, but he can beat the crap out of him. With a mask, there isn't much he could do. Watch it in theaters only.
Witnessed the Phenomenon called The Dark Knight Rises...! Perfect finish to a Perfect trilogy..!!! Christopher Nolan ws again at his best... Tom Hardy was no Heath Ledger... But BEN was really awesome..!!! Last bt not the least... Totally in love with Selina Kyle..!!! ;)
Tom Hardy's Bane was sublime malevolence, but still a tad below Heath Ledger's Joker. Hannibal Lecter w power. And Anne Hathaway did great.
I'm home & went to see "The Dark Knight Returns". Very dark, but it is best of the trilogy. No one outdoes Heath Ledger, but the story, special effects and gadgets are great. (Loved the bat!) Anne Hathaway was wonderful as Catwoman. What a body! Meow! Michelle Pheiffer had more attitude but Anne kept us interested. Tom Hardy as Bain was also a worthy adversary. The plot twists are interesting. All in all, I believe that Christopher Nolan is the most interesting and talented writer/director in today's cinema. Can't wait to see what he comes up with next.
A disappointing six. Good bits and neat twist but time hung heavy in the film and Tom Hardy (great actor) was no Heath Ledger.
This is a TOUGH one. Who would win... Tom Hardy's Bane or Heath Ledger's Joker?
But I'm not sure if anyone ever will be able to out do Heath Ledger's performance. Sorry, Tom Hardy.
Tom Hardy did a great job playing Bane and Heath Ledger did an exceptional job portraying the Joker.
Dark Knight Rises did not disappoint in the least. Heath Ledger's Joker is still far superior to Tom Hardy's Bane tho
The difference is that Heath Ledger won me over with his performance, whereas I've been a Tom Hardy fan ever since 'Bronson'...
dude, I kept thinking that the whole time I was watching Bane. Tom Hardy was awesome, but Heath Ledger was perfect
Now that I think about it I feel like the Villains in the Batman trilogy always outact Christian Bale. Specifically Tom Hardy & Heath Ledger
Heath Ledger just added one of the BEST performances of all time. Tom Hardy is excellent too & JGL but that can never be duplicated
Tom Hardy easily surpassed Heath Ledger with his role of Bane, one of the most incredible performances, I have ever witnessed.
Heath Ledger's Joker just out classes Tom Hardy's Bane. Both were phenomenal.
Yah he is class! Tom Hardy ftw, he is not as good as Heath Ledger though!
yeah pretty decent performance from Tom Hardy. But no one can beat Heath Ledger's role as a villain !
I agree, unbelievable! Christopher Nolan casts the best villains. Tom Hardy done so well competing with Heath Ledger.
realistically The Dark Knight Rises was so amazing, properly got me going from beggining to end... Tom Hardy as Bane > Heath Ledger as Joker
It was always gonna be tough to match TDK. Heath Ledger stole that film. Doesn't reflect badly on Tom Hardy. Bane was no Joker, though.
Heath Ledger made an amazing Joker. BUT, Tom Hardy was a bamf as Bane.
Just saw It is my belief that Tom Hardy's "Bane" performance is up there with Heath Ledger's "Joker."
Im gonna be honest, I like Tom Hardy's bane more than Heath Ledger's joker
no you can't! Heath Ledger and The Joker should never be compared with Tom Hardy and Bane
Tom Hardy's Bane was a great villain. However, no other villain can compete with Heath Ledger's Joker.
Yes, Tom Hardy is no Heath Ledger... But Nolan is still Nolan, and I just sat trembling and breathless through the entirety of Rises.
it's so amazing!! Tom Hardy is fantastic but not as terrifying as Heath Ledger (RIP) xx
So I saw the BATMAN Movie on Sunday, INCREDIBLE. YES I brought my GUN. LOL. JUST KIDDING. Most of the action scenes were filmed on Grand Avenue in DownTown Los Angeles. There is a scene where a truck crashed through a guard rail and drops down into lower Grand, (Grand Ave has two levels) I had my hand on the guard rail just the other day ! Same exact spot! PLUS I could see the building I work in through out most of the action scenes. Oddly enough, there was another Batman movie filmed on lower Grand Ave as well, Batman Forever. The movie was well done, Anne Hathaway is TOTALLY SMOKIN HOT, and nails her role as Catwoman. I will admit, I was in tears towards the end of the movie. Tom hardy as Bane you will end up hating. he did a great Job. He is no Heath Ledger, but certainly does a great job. For those of you who do not live in Los Angeles or have never been here. If and when you do get here, you get the feeling that you have been here before because of all the filming that has been done in the city off L ...
Tom Hardy's Bane is defo up there with the best villains of all time. Tied with Heath Ledger's Joker.
Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy were so different as villains, that you can't even compare them.
Heath Ledger as Joker was fantastic, as good as Tom Hardy was don't think he was as good!
Just got back from The Dark Knight Rises with Hailey. Nolan definitely redeemed himself. Not only was it wayayay better than the previous film, but it made The Dark Knight a significantly better film. Tom Hardy was (obviously) a million times better than Heath Ledger, though I didn't like Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle. All of that said, hated the ending.
But I have to say Bane is no Joker. Tom Hardy just has not the presence Heath Ledger had as The Joker.
Don't get me wrong, I prefer The Joker and Heath Ledger over Tom Hardy, I just think Bane's a better villain
The Dark Knight Rises: Dear Joker y have u set the benchmark so high that Tom Hardy found it tough to match.Heath Ledger u were the Best !!!
I don't know what Tom Hardy's portrayal is of 'Bane', but it'll take a lot to beat Heath Ledger's 'Joker'
Seriously, Tom Hardy as Bane is an incredible villain. It's close between him and Heath Ledger's Joker, but Heath wins it by ever so little.
Yeah definitely! Heath Ledger's Joker is just too good. I think it was difficult for Tom Hardy to top that - good effort though!
Tom Hardy's portrayal of Bane is every bit as amazing as Heath Ledger's Joker.
so I've thought about it. Tom Hardy's is better than Heath Ledger's IMHO. Hear why on the next
I'm gonna go ahead and get bold and say that Tom Hardy did AT LEAST as well as Heath Ledger did…with respects.
I can finally talk about Batman. As a Christopher Nolan movie it was good, as a comic book movie it was alright. As a sequel to The Dark Knight it was fine. Tom Hardy as Bane was amazing. Anne Hathaway when compared to Michelle Pfeiffer is ehhish. Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, and Christian Bale were excellent. The ending was too tame and was too predictable. The main "twist" at the end was so well done. But the "twist" ending was way too cheesy and dumb. Overall it was Fine it was a satisfactory ending to the Batman series. But The Dark Knight was so well done it's hard to get even close to topping that story and Heath Ledger's Joker.
So, Chuck Dixon, the guy who created the character of Bane. Said that Chris Nolan's Bane was as close to a perfect representation of Bane that he could imagine. Heath Ledger's Joker was a joy to watch. He was everything I ever wanted Joker to be. But Bane was truly terrifying. He made my skin crawl. Tom Hardy's Bane was...perfect. And if Chuck Dixon is okay with him that's a pretty good voucher.
okay Christian Bale as Batman, Matt Sokolowski as Superman, Tom Hardy as Bane, and James Holmes as the wannabe Joker but really Jack Nicholson / Heath Ledger has the spot. So James can be the 2nd insane Riddler, but to bad he's gonna die for his crimes. so whats next??? Danny DiVeto as the Penguin?!?!?!?!
Heath Ledger couldn't play Bane because he killed himself, and Tom Hardy has too big of a build to play the Joker.
The Dark Knight Rises Christian Bale (Batman) has maximum screen presence in this movie out of all three movies of the Batman series. His age might be 39 but on screen he seems to be very old. Poor fellow last time his recognition was taken by the Heath Ledger (The Joker Villan) and this the director thought being the last movie of the batman series he gave him a better treatment. He seems to b a better actor than wat is shown in the movie...u can check it with the movie American Psycho (2000) Tom Hardy (Bane) has good physic but since his face expression would have been so less to heath ledger the director covered it with a mask and till the end of the movie u can hear his voice in all 5 speakers of the theater while for the rest of the actors it will be max. on 2 speakers... they thought it will be little terrorsum but it was not even half of wat heath ledger did. Morgan Freeman (Lucius Fox) @ the age of 75 he looks much younger and his screen presence even though he comes for few min on the movie (on ...
Spoiler free review of Dark Knight Rises - Tom Hardy pisses on Heath Ledger's grave.
There couldn't be a more perfect way to end the epic Dark Knight series.:) Tom Hardy really tried to cope up with the level of Dark Knight.but there can be no other Heath Ledger...but Michael Caine (Alfred) really touched deep.:) ...though story is not as epic compared to The Dark Knight...but this is the one where all the ends meets.:)
I'm really lucky now to have seen all three Dark Knight movies in the theater. I'm sad that it has come to an end for now and I will be waiting for either a new twist with Robin in the mix or for Christian Bale to get back into the Bat suit. It was an astonishment of evil to see Christopher Nolan transform great talented actors into amazing villians on the big screen. Tom Hardy kicked *** as Bain and Heath Ledger would be proud... Hoping for Batman 4 please.
Batman Begins- 7 out of 10 (lack of good acting and sloppy plot.) The Dark Knight Rises- 10 out 10 (legendary story, truly captured Batman and Joker's rivalry into something closer to poetry.) Dark Knight Rises- 9 out of 10 (Tom Hardy did absolutely amazing as bane, although not quite up to par with Heath Ledger he left a legacy of his very own.)
The Dark Knight Rises was brilliant. Much respect to Tom Hardy for a great performance. I still think Heath Ledger was better, but Hardy was Impressive.
Movie Critic Mike D'Angelo on Dark Knight Rises: "Nolan deserves credit for elevating our notion of what a mass-appeal superhero movie can be, and the first two films achieve a much stronger balance of the intimate and the epic. In hindsight, though, I can see how crucial Heath Ledger was to the success of "Dark Knight" -- his controlled lunacy counteracted the series' growing lugubriousness, whereas Tom Hardy's hulking, Vader-inflected work as Bane only accentuates it. There was a point early on when I thought Anne Hathaway might provide a much-needed dose of rude energy, but the playfulness of her initial meeting with Bruce Wayne quickly evaporates. I dunno, guys, I just found the whole thing less thought-provoking and entertaining than exhausting. Just me? You can flame me, but this is exactly how I felt about the movie.
For those that saw the Dark Knight Rises. Who would win a death match free for all? Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy), Ras Al Ghoul (Liam Niesen), Joker (Heath Ledger), Two Face (Aaron Eckhart), or Bane (Tom Hardy)?
Tom Hardy and Marion Cotillard are great but no one will ever do a better job than what Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart did 4 years ago.
After much thought and deliberation.I honestly feel that Tom Hardy delivers the performance of the year for his portrayal of Bane. He's amazing. Tom wears a mask on his face the entire movie but that doesn't hinder his body movements and eyes from stealing the show. And let me reiterate, his eyes portrayed so much emotion. Heath Ledger, may you rest in peace, you've been outdone. Congrats Tom Hardy.
Saw the Dark Knight Rises today. Pretty decent, doesn't compare with the second one though. Heath Ledger as the joker is much better than Tom Hardy as Bain. Also its too long at almost 3 hours.
I generally hate superhero/comics type movies. The Dark Knight Trilogy has made a fan out of me. First one was good. Second one was great. TDKR somehow blew them both away. As impressive as Heath Ledger was as Joker, Tom Hardy was even greater as Bane.
It took a good minute for The Dark Knight Rises to all set in and accept its (few) glaring flaws, but my intense urge to see it again seems to indicate that it's an overall really good movie. Definitely Bale's best performance as Batman/Bruce and Tom Hardy rivals Heath Ledger as epic scope mega villain. I hope to the gods there is an extended DVD version.
Dark Knight Rises exceeded all expectations, incredible. Tom Hardy does to Bane what Heath Ledger did to the Joker!
Tom Hardy was no Heath Ledger, but is still a total badass in the Batman movie.
Nolan did his series well. I actually do like Tom Hardy's Bane a little better than Heath Ledger's Joker. (Yea, it's mostly cause of a character thing, but still.) Anne Hathaway was a great Catwoman. Although, I was a tiny bit disapointed by the ending. Still an excellent movie.
Now that I've had time to process the truly EPIC "The Dark Knight Rises", I can now be more specific in what I love about the film: Gorgeous cinematography; a thundering soundtrack that never let's you relax for too long; cooler Batman toys (The Bat!) and an outstanding cast all-around. Christian Bale IS Batman IMHO. You see him rise and fall and rise again and you're with him every step of the way. It'll be huge shoes to fill for whoever plays Batman next. Alfred is the emotional heart and almost made me cry at some points. I love all the newcomers, especially Joseph-Gordon Levitt and Bane. Though not as charismatic and fascinating as Heath Ledger's Joker, I was surprised how much I liked Bane. He has this great presence, a hypnotizing voice (that's sometimes hard to understand so pay attention), insane strength, and, most importantly, intelligence. He's an equal match for Batman in many ways. Tom Hardy rules! Finally, the last five minutes of this movie are the most satisfying of any superhero m ...
One thing I will say about Batman. Tom Hardy, my dear, you have never looked soo good. Other than that am I the only woman who is fascinated with the villains? I mean yay Batman and all that but Joker, Bane, Catwoman, Two-face, Riddler, Harley Quinn, well, they take the cake. Top picks would definitely be Joker (Heath Ledger), Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) and thanks to Christopher Nolan Bane (Tom Hardy)...
Chris Nolan's genius - of that we all know. Tom Hardy's Bane stepping up to the level of Heath Ledger's Joker - now that is something we'll find out tonight :)
Heath Ledger leaves me speechless every time I watch The Dark Knight. Best Joker ever in the history of forever. Let's hope Tom Hardy can do the same with Bane. I will be finding out at midnight.
looks great be hard to top Heath Ledger as Joker but Tom Hardy as Bane looks like a true villain pure menace! Can't wait
Rewatched Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Hopefully Tom Hardy does as well as Heath Ledger and Liam Neeson. It'll be tough to top.
Christopher Nolan is English. Christian Bale is English. Michael Caine is English. Gary Oldman is English. Liam Neeson is Irish. Cilian Murphy is Irish. Tom Hardy is English. Juno Temple is English. Marion Cottilard is French and Heath Ledger was Australian. My dear Americans, do you understand now what had to be done to make this Batman series work?
Question of the week: Will Tom Hardy top Heath Ledger's performance?
Tom Hardy's Bane is going to be a very good reason to watch TDKR. Undoubtedly, he has big shoes to fill following Heath Ledger's The Joker.
Tom Hardy is no Heath Ledger but he never disappoints.
Heath Ledger or Tom Hardy. The debate for the scariest modern day Bat-villain will go on for years!
I have a feeling that Tom Hardy is gonna be for Bane what Heath Ledger was for the Joker. I am genuinely excited to see it.
I hope Tom Hardy wont make me miss Heath Ledger more
Let us see if Tom Hardy can beat Heath Ledger. *fingers crossed*
I love Tom Hardy. I have high hopes but you're right, Heath Ledger was amazing!
Heath Ledger's performance is infectious. I'm looking forward to seeing how Tom Hardy gets on as Bane. I love bad guys.
Tom Hardy will make another awesome Batman's villain after Heath Ledger
1st time watching Dark Knight.i'm lyk "Woah?? Is this man Heath Ledger?? The one from A KNIGHTS TALE?" Now watching the Trailers of TDKR.n i am again lyk "He (Bane) doesnt evn luk close to Tom Hardy!!!" This is what Chris Nolan and his team has done! They have brought filming and acting to a whole new level! A tribute to Nolan, Bale, Hardy, Freeman, Caine, Ledger, Oldman and many more who were in this fantastic series.
"Bronson" was a great movie...it's like Tom Hardy meets Heath Ledger's joker..awesome late night feature
So I just got done watching The Dark Knight... I have to say, after a whole long while, of holding off on it, and then especially after the Whole Christian Bale moment at the Mtv Movie awards, It once again makes me most DEFINATELLY ABSOLUTELLY APPRECIATE this masterpiece and seeing how Heath gave it his all, creating this character and even going further with the character... Dark Knight Rises comes in three weeks, as good as mit may be and perphaps even better, It will NEVER fill in that gap of Heath's portrayal of the character, and Tom Hardy, well I do believe he as Heath Ledger dissappeared underneath that make-up, Hardy with do as well under that mask...
i think what makes Nolan a great director is the cast he gets like Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy
I just hope Tom Hardy is remotely as epic as Heath Ledger. Please God, please let him be awesome.
Tom Hardy's "Bane" I must say is even par with Heath Ledger's "Joker". Now I just have to somehow prep Nick for inevitable ending of TDKR..."tear"
Tom Hardy says he doesn’t want to compete with Heath Ledger in his role as the villain Bane…
'Dark Knight Rises' star Tom Hardy talks Heath Ledger and his Bane ...
I mean Heath Ledger, Tom Hiddleston, Cillian Murphy, and now Tom Hardy. There is a pattern here and there is definitely a ploy behind it all
Tom Hardy found dead in Mary Olsen's apartment from drug overdose? Same way Heath Ledger was found? Is this a cruel joke?
I think just like people were underestimating Heath Ledger as the Joker when he was cast same thing for Tom Hardy as Bane
Let us take a poll? All those who think Tom Hardy will produce a better display of acting than Heath Ledger type TH, all those who think he will not type HL.
Only if Heath Ledger was alive today hopefull Tom Hardy will do a good job. Seen the Avengers yet??
Anybody think Tom Hardy's Bane will outdo Heath Ledger's Joker? Heath was amazing but looks like Bane kicks it up a notch! He's so scary!
ALSO. Tom Hardy is a far greater actor than Heath Ledger ever was. TDK is what would've really put Ledger on the map if he was alive
what stop. why are people saying something might happen to Tom Hardy like with Heath Ledger so he won't make it to the premiere of Batman.
I feel like Tom Hardy's performance as Bane will be almost if not as good as Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker
Tom Hardy will do to Bane what Heath Ledger did to The Joker
Such a bold call. Heath Ledger playing the joker? Tom Hardy playing Bane in this one, unreal acting.
Wow I like Tom Hardy, but it'll be tough for him to compare to Heath Ledger...
Found out that Leonardo Dicaprio was going to be The Riddler and the main villain for Dark Knight Rises. Kinda glad that they didn't go that route for only one reason, Riddler would have been a step down from Joker. and one can beat Heath Ledger. Glad Tom Hardy is Bane though. Good pick Nolan :)
Tom Hardy's Bane in The Dark Knight Rises will be the raw ,physical manifestation of what the late Heath Ledger's Joker in the Dark Knight had hoped to accomplish...utter complete chaos with total brutality added to the mix.
also Tom Hardy is a awesome actor just the fact that Heath Ledger just destroyed the Dark Knight and it will be a hard hard time following a performance like that.
Heath Ledger and Tom Hardy would have made an incredible double act in The Dark Knight Rises
Going to cry myself to sleep at the thought that neither Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal or Tom Hardy will never be my boyfriend.
I actually love Heath Ledger he's defo up there with Tom Hardy and Ryan Gosling!
Tom Hardy will not be as great as a super villain like Heath Ledger was... Scratch that, NO actor could ever make a better villain
Tom Hardy doesn't want to compete with Heath Ledger
Tom Hardy accepts that his acting is no where in comparison to that of Heath Ledger's! Hw can he even except, when his half of face is hidden
"The Dark Knight": Tom Hardy will sich nicht an Heath Ledger messen -
Tom Hardy rejects comparisons to Heath Ledger ahead of Dark Knight Rises
Tom Hardy not looking to top Heath Ledger:
Why are super villains always good looking actors? If I was Heath Ledger or Tom Hardy, I wouldn't be bothered about being a villain!
hmmm Over-rated or Over Hyped: TO ALL BATMAN/Dark Knight FANS, I have an opinionated question for you all in regards to the Nolan Batman movies. Going back 4 years ago, When Dark Knight was released there was this whole spectacle saying that the movie had done what it had done, was simply and only because it was the controversial last role of Heath Ledger (some believe in that it was the "Joker" that did Heath in) as the Iconic Batman villain Joker. Now with Dark Knight Rises just around the corner, and the exception of the actor of the antagonist character (Tom Hardy as Bane) still amongst the living, does anyone else think there will be some affect or that fans and movie goers would put aside what happened in the last film and enjoy it regardlesS?
Question: I want to ask you a question that you couldn’t answer at Comic-Con– Tom Hardy: I probably still can’t answer it. [Laughs] Do you have an accent in this movie? What are you doing for the voice? Hardy: I can’t say anything about him. …
never a massive fan of Heath Ledger, but I must admit that his role as the Joker was fifty times more sinister than Tom Hardy looks as Bane
In Nolan We Trust: Can he make Tom Hardy the new Heath Ledger?
Let's see if Tom Hardy's Bane will be as good a villain as Heath Ledger's Joker.
In other news, I never thought I would see a better psychotic performance than Heath Ledger did in The Dark Knight. Tom Hardy in Bronson
How many other people think Tom Hardy's Bane will be better then Heath Ledger's Joker?
Tom Hardy will be the next Heath Ledger. I swear. He's a fantastic actor and he'll make an awesome Bane.
I'm as excited for Tom Hardy as Bane as I was before Heath Ledger did the Joker, he looks terrifying.
Becks would be at the top (obv), Tom Hardy would get a look in, and Heath Ledger (if he wasn't dead.. Shame)
Tom Hardy is gonna be so much better than Heath Ledger was..
I don't see The Dark Knight Rises beating $200mil opening weekend. Tom Hardy's no Heath Ledger and that's what everyone went to see
After reading the latest on Dark Knight Rises it struck me how Anne Hathaway acknowledged and commended Michelle Pfeiffer's portrayal of Catwoman the way Heath Ledger did for Nicholson's Joker. And yet Tom Hardy is remarkably silent on Batman and Robin's treatment of Bane...
Tom Hardy wants you know that Bane is no Joker. Indeed, his Batman nemesis is in many ways the polar opposite of Heath Ledger's Dark Knight lunatic.
...saw the trailer for the new Batman film. Given what happened to Heath Ledger before the last one, Tom Hardy must be shi**ing bricks !!
