Lawless. love this movie/story. Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce are incredible.
Spent my waking time today watching movies. "Gravity" starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock and "Captain Phillips" with Tom Hanks were the newest ones. Both are worth your time. Then "Patton" starring George C. Scott, Karl Malden, Stephen Young from 1970 , "Battle of the Bulge" starring Henry Fonda, Robert Shaw, Robert Ryan from 1965 , "Lawless" starring Tom Hardy, Shia Labeouf, Guy Pearce from 2012. Another busy day. All in all great watches. ,
Dear Santa🎅, . 🎄All I want under my tree is...Michael Fassbender...Guy Pearce...Tom Hardy... Joseph Gordon-Levitt...that's about it. Thanks:)
As with the finch xmas tradition I have made my decision today on what films we watch xmas day and boxing day this year. XMAS day, DJANGO with Jamie Fox and dicaprio Boxing day LAWLESS with Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, and Guy Pearce .
If you've seen The Proposition and/or The Road then you have an idea of what director John Hillcoat is capable of and that's showing the more gritty side of human nature, the highs and the extreme lows and Lawless is no exception in comparison to his previous efforts. Shia LeBeouf, Tom Hardy, and Jason Clarke star as the Bondurant brothers, a trio of moonshiners caught up in the old ways of doing business by themselves and reaping the benefits. When the Virginia Commonwealth attorney shows up with his psychotic, slimy, and almost reptile-like Chicago deputy Charlie Rakes (played by the always incredible Guy Pearce), demanding a cut of their profits in exchange for his "protection", the brothers decline and in turn spark a feud that leads to several very bloody encounters. In the midst of this the brothers begin doing business with mob boss Floyd Banner (a small but memorable role played by Gary Oldman) and soon they're making large sums of money all the while avoiding the wrath of the law and the greed .. ...

This week TYGA FM - "Soundscapes", with Martin Bennett will feature the soundtrack album for the 2012 western “Lawless”, featuring songs of the film’s original scores composed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. The two formed a band named The Bootleggers for this project, and the soundtrack also features collaborations with artists like Mark Lenegan, Ralph Stanley and Emmylou Harris. The album also includes a previously unreleased song by Willie Nelson. The film Lawless is a 2012 American crime drama directed by John Hillcoat. The screenplay by Nick Cave is based on the historical novel 'The Wettest County in the World' (2008) by Matt Bondurant. The film stars Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, and Guy Pearce. Lawless explores the actions of 3 brothers: Forrest, Howard & Jack Bondurant, who made & sold moonshine in Franklin County, Virginia, during Prohibition. The film was in development for about 3 years before it was produced. It screened at the 2012 ...
Re-casting X-Men: Guy Pearce as Wolverine, Ryan Gosling as Angel, Amy Adams as Jean Grey, Jon Hamm as Magneto, Tom Hardy as Colossus, Daniel Day-Lewis as Professor X, Jaime Lannister as Cylops, RuPaul as Storm.
What happens when you put Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce and Tom Hardy in the same movie?
I actually have seen it - Guy Pearce was super crazy. I love love Tom Hardy.
.now I understand, it's Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Shia Labeouf, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska all in one movie.
Hehe nope, not that Lawless. Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Shia Lebouf, Guy Pearce and more. I reckon you'd like it.
no idea how i missed out on a movie about bootlegging with Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, and Guy Pearce, but i'll fix that now.
It was great, recommended. Not the sort of film I usually go for. Guy Pearce and Tom Hardy were excellent.
Great film Scara, I watched Lawless Friday night. A tour de force from Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce. Two of my favorite actors.
Just finished watching Lawless. Pretty good. Guy Pearce as Hair Flick, Tom Hardy as Bane & Le Beouf as teenage *** boy (see Transformers).
Lawless Now I love me a good crime drama and this right here is a *** fine one. I also love its set in Prohibition. Now this might be because my love of Boardwalk Empire but I digress. Now I ain't ever read the book its based on but I imagine its a good read. John Hillcoat's direction here is fine. It works and some the shots used work perfectly and Nick Cave's screenplay is crackling with some fun dialogue and great violent action scenes but this movie does kinda seem to go on a bit for my taste and could've been slightly trimmed down. The score by Cave and Warren Ellis (not the comics writer) is spot on, as if the music choices here. Now I quite like Shia Labeouf here. He really seems to step up and bring his acting chops right to the forefront here and gives a good performance. Just a shame he's surround by Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain, and Gary Oldman who give off better performances. Pearce and Hardy especially since they almost are the main characters really. Jason Clarke is good as well ...
Is watching 'Lawless' and Guy Pearce plays a nasty piece of work!!! Great film though, love Tom Hardy and Shia La'Boef :)
Back when people actually liked Moonshine, check Guy Pearce, Tom Hardy & Shia Labeouf in 'Lawless' out now
She is very popular at the moment, she's in a film i bought 'Lawless' with Gary Oldman,Tom Hardy,Guy Pearce.
The Superhero movies are deffinately getting better actors for their villians: Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Heath Ledger, and now Guy Pearce and Christopher Eccleston in the new Ironman and Thor movies!
Someone should have told Tom Hardy & Guy Pearce that we're supposed to be able to understand them when they talk.
For the non-fans of Shia, Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce, and Noah Taylor should make up for Shia's presence
This better be good love...Now watching Tom Hardy, Shia Labeouf, Guy Pearce and Jessica Chastain in Lawless!
I've never watched that tbh. I see what you mean though. Tom Hardy was his usual great self again. Guy Pearce was sinister!
Lawless - goes without saying Tom Hardy is amazing, but Guy Pearce is class too
Watched Lawless... two thoughts... Tom Hardy is hot and Guy Pearce is weird!
Just watched Lawless. Hats off to Nick Cave for being so *** talented. Tom Hardy amazing & Guy Pearce is brilliantly vile and creepy.
It's such a good film!! Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce are amazing!
Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce in the same film? With 'splosions an' all? *adds to must-see list* :)
Lawless is bloody brilliant. Top cast. Guy Pearce is as dislikeable as Tom Hardy is likeable.
To mark the release of the Tom Hardy, Shia Labeouf, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman-starring Prohibition era crime dr...
na but I defo do, top cast as well, love Tom Hardy n Guy Pearce
Why haven't I watched Lawless yet? Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Shia LeBuff and Guy Pearce are in it. My blood pressure is sky high!
Watching Lawless with Tom Hardy ( Church faint*) Shia Labeouf, Jessica Chastain, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce its so good! !!
In 2005 the musician / writer Nick Cave combined with the director John Hillcoat to create THE PROPOSITION - the superlative Australian 'western'. They have teamed up once more, this time for the brilliant LAWLESS, a crime thriller set in rural Virginia in the early 1930s, adapted by Cave from the biographical novel by Matt Bondurant, the grandson of one of the main characters. Brothers Jack and Forrest Bondurant (Shia Labeouf and Tom Hardy) set up as bootleggers, but soon find themselves under threat from the authorities who want a cut of their profits in the form of 'security money'. A vicious turf war ensues as the brothers fight tooth and nail to retain their hard-won livelihood. The supporting cast includes Mia Wasikowska, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce, Noah Taylor and Jessica Chastain. Many 2000AD fans were left somewhat disillusioned when in 1995 Sylvester Stallone stepped into the role of John Wagner's futuristic law enforcement office JUDGE DREDD. Thankfully, having the 2012 reboot, simply titled DREDD ...
In a year filled with huge, amazing films, I found it very hard to choose what I felt were the best movies of the past 12 months. Ultimately, I considered the aspects of what make a great film (directing, screenwriting, acting, cinematography, ect.) and my own emotional reactions to compile the following list. These are MY own opinions. Honorable Mention 15.) Lawless- Lawless is, in my opinion, the most underrated movie of the year. Guy Pearce gives a career best performance in a film filled with intensity and excitement. Other highlights include cinematography, violent and gritty fight scenes, and the perfect on screen duo of Tom Hardy and Jessica Chastain. 14.) Compliance- I love movies because I love going on a journey with characters, experiencing the joys, excitement, tensions, romance, and, in the case of Compliance, horrors they go through. Before watching Compliance, I knew very little about it, so the disturbing events that followed were quite a shock to me. It's certainly n ...
How can a movie with Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy be bad? The answer is the movie Lawless. Talk about wasting an absurd amount of talent. How does Shia Labeouf get work?
Only woman to say this, "I am watching Lawless with Shia Labouf and Tom Hardy, and Guy Pearce, but I have a thing for Gary Oldman.
Anyone seen Lawless with Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce ? Don't know if to bung it on?
Tom Hardy, Ben Stiller and Guy Pearce - now that sounds like a fun night on the sofa!
Lawless: Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce, Shia LeBeouf...one of these things is not like the others
LAWLESS REVIEW Lawless is one of my favorite films of 2012. The film is about the three Bondurant brothers played by Tom Hardy, Shia Labeouf and Jason Clarke. They are moonshiners in Franklin County, Virginia in 1931. These guys don't go looking for trouble but violence seems to catch up with them quite often. When a corrupt officer of the law (played by Guy Pearce) comes into town threatening their way of life, things get very ugly and people start to get hurt and even die. This film is a violent tale directed masterfully by John Hillcoat. The visuals are stunning; the violence is brutal but you still root for these brothers and them protecting their way of life. You also root for Jessica Chastain's character, a women who comes to this small town and strikes up a relationship with Forrest played by Tom Hardy. Hardy will be overlooked for an Oscar nod; but if this were any other year he would be a lock for the nomination. This film is very well paced, brutal, thought provoking and just a great piece of Am ...
Just watched two brilliant movies: with Shia LeBoeuf, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and with Christian Bale! ☺
nah it wasn't a good performance by Shia + Tom Hardy wounded 2-3 times and can't be killed + Guy Pearce recent movies suck
Just watched Lawless starring Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce. Really enjoyed it!
movieneon.com's top 10 films of 2012 (in no particular order) - Lawless Quite simply a AWESOME EPIC WESTERN that will stand the test of time, and be remembered along with the greats like Tombstone & Unforgiven - Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce ... even Shia ... all IMMENSE - This should be nominated for at least 4 Oscar next year: - BEST DIRECTOR (John Hillcoat) - BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY (Nick Cave) - BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (Guy Pearce) - & BEST PICTURE - The Opening scene with Gary Oldman shooting down the car with the Tommy Gun, and winking at Shia = one of the coolest moments in film history. Fact.
Just saw Lawless. Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce are the SHEYIT. And Gary Oldman of course
Guy Pearce and Tom Hardy make that movie.
So I watched the movie Lawless friday night. I must own this movie. Guy Pearce was extremely creepy. Tom Hardy portrayed Forrest as a very quiet and admirable character. Shia Labeouf was great as Jack and even Howard was fun to watch. So I am currently watching Bronson. I have said it before and I will say it again now, Tom Hardy is the best young actor on the big screen. Watch Bronson if you want to see a disturbing movie.
Lawless.. Tom Hardy too good as always.. But Guy Pearce steals the show... Why are British actors so god?
watching written by Nick Cave, starring Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman. Ovaries: CALM DOWN ;D
This movie starring Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce based on a true story about 3 bootlegging brothers set in 1917
And now time for Lawless. Tom Hardy making weird noises and wearing a cardigan and Guy Pearce has this weird eyebrow thing going on.
watched 'Lawless' last night with Shia LeBeouf, Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce. Actually, he watched it with Good Movie!
"Lawless" was a Good Movie with some amazing performances, mainly those of Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce.
Lawless, blew my mind. Kept me at the edge and engaged throughout. I could watch it again. Top notch acting and Guy Pearce just scared me at times. Shia was just... well, Shia. Tom Hardy, doesn't have to prove that he can pull off any badass character but this one counts anyway. Didn't think much of Jason Clarke before this movie, but he emoted in ways that was not short an act worth appreciation. Well, I could go on and on but bottom line: Goosebump ride filled with emotions and violence that would keep you engaged throughout the movie.
I'm really happy 2 win a pair of 'Lawless' (M18: Nudity, Volence & Coarse Language) in-season passes from OneMotoring.sg Contest as I get 2 c it 4 the 2nd time soon starring Shia Labeouf, Guy Pearce, Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke as I'm nw feeling relief from the classified mission which I had done last Fri evening in the Northern area.
Movie review: Lawless. Very rarely does a film that takes place in the 1930s gets made these days, and those days are few and far in betwixt. The last time such a movie was release was a couple years back with Mann's Public Enemy. This time, this true-life re-enactment focuses on three brothers in the Deep Southern states of America whose moonshine-distilling livelihood is a bane for corrupt and cruel 'lawmen'. If you're a policeman, be honest; being tricky is for the criminals. Chances are, you'll end up being like the cretins you despise deep in your heart. The movie may be slow but it is not bad, and it is surprising quite violent. It's incredible the damage one can do with a blade; I personally find knives more life-threatening than guns. Knives you never have to reload, and they are silent. Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy, and Jason Clarke play the Bondurant brothers, and Gary Oldman is fantastic as ever despite the short screen time. Incidentally, this is Guy Pearce at his villainous best; he even has the h ...
With Nick Cave penning the screenplay for Tom Hardy & Guy Pearce to go toe to toe in Lawless, you know it's just gonna be mind blowing & I can now officially confirm that my mind was blown.
Film Review: Lawless, starring Guy Pearce and Tom Hardy: This American gangster story was based on the book The ...
Dad: Guy Pearce is doing pretty well, what other good actors are there? Me: Tom Hardy's doing pretty well. Dad: I only know him as the guy with the mask...in a film I haven't even seen... Me: *covers mouth* No one cared who he was, until he put on the mask...
Lawless- Pretty decent ultra violent look at 30s booklegging. No standout performances, apart from perhaps Guy Pearce as the villain, but a pretty entertaining story. Shia Lebeouf is pretty tolerable. Tom Hardy is pretty funny.
Lawless: Tom Hardy is badass in a grandpa cardi, Guy Pearce's lack of eyebrows is terrifying, needs more Gary Oldman shooting things.
Absolutely. Great soundtrack, atmospheric, Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce steal the show.
Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce were absolutely awesome in Lawless
Lawless: Who better to play the 'immortal' than Tom Hardy. And what an impressively vile creature Guy Pearce was! This certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it's one of those brilliant stories that would go untold without the magic of cinema. The accents were a little hard to understand at times. 8/10.
"Lawless" was... kind of all over the place story wise and what the *** was up with Guy Pearce's performance? Other than that, thought it was pretty good. GORGEOUS cinematography and more winning performances from Tom Hardy and Jessica Chastain.
Lawless was a pretty Good Movie, good performances by Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy, and Guy Pearce definitely recommend it
Just got back from the movie. I saw the film Lawless with Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy, and Guy Pearce.
Lawless. Based on a true story, with a screenplay written by Aussie singer Nick Cave, Lawless is a slightly more traditional prohibition-era gangster film when compared to other contemporary films (eg: Public Enemies) but with a slight air of slickness to help it go down well, all the same. The story lacks considerable shape and neccesary tension but it's still a fairly strong effort. Also of note, considering the Tennessee setting, it's odd to see well-known actors from Canada (Shia LeBoeuf), the UK (Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman) and Australia (Guy Pearce, Mia Wasiowska) but it still gels okay.
Guy Pearce is really good in it 2. What you mean hunks? There's only 1 hunk. The dish that is Tom Hardy.
John Hillcoat movie about bootleggers in the Deep South. Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Shia LeBeouf and Guy Pearce. Best film this year!
Saw Lawless last night, pretty good film, thought Guy Pearce and Tom Hardy were brilliant in their roles.
Lawless:- great film, Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce are superb!
Lawless is pretty awesome, brutal, but awesome. I liked it better than The Master... I feel like I "should" like The Master more given Joaquin's AMAZING performance, but Lawless was just more entertaining. and with Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, and Guy Pearce how can you go wrong?
Going to see at the flicks later. Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman? Yes please!
Lawless was friggin' awesome! Tom Hardy, Shia LeBeouf, Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce all rolled in to one film?! Awesome.
If you like character crime thrillers you really can't go wrong with "Lawless" - fantastic ensemble cast...Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, Shia Labeouf & Gary Oldman. Well acted & riveting!
Movie Review: 'Lawless' (2012) 3.5/5 Tom Hardy brings plenty of gravitas and humour to his role, Shia Labeouf dispels any doubts I had from the trailer and Guy Pearce is a memorable villain. Nick Cave's dialogue is again very powerful and grandiose but at times the plot becomes a little overblown. The film is based on a true story but the details are very scarce and perhaps the writers imaginations ran a bit far at times.
Lawless was an excellent movie! Shia Labeouf and Tom Hardy played their roles to perfection. Guy Pearce played the bad guy role very well, I hated his character. I was a little upset that Gary Oldman wasn't in it as much though. I recommend everyone go see it.
Saw Lawless and I'm just in awe of the acting and story. Shia Labeouf and Guy Pearce were ace but Tom Hardy stole the show! x
Saw Lawless on Saturday and it was superb, Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce in particular were excellent. Seeing Dreed 3d later, not sold on 3D yet
I went watch Lawless last night! What a bloody good film that was. Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman all playing fantastic characters!
Lawless was breathtaking. As per usual Tom Hardy's performance was amazing. Guy Pearce pleasantly surprised me, well acted.
Yeah its pretty good. Tom Hardy is excellent. Guy Pearce too.
Day at pictures, Total Recall, better than heard, certainly worth seeing. Second film Lawless, very good, Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce give excellent performances. Good way to spend the day.
Well Lawless is good and Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce play blinding roles but film of the day goes to Ray and Ben with The Sweeney.
- gruesome but brilliant viewing. Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce awesome
Lawless was excellent! Tom Hardy is a beast! Shia Lebouf and Guy Pearce were very good as well!
Saw Lawless last night and I really truly enjoyed it. Tom Hardy was crazy &wonderful, Guy Pearce was very creepy, & even The Beef was good.
Up next today is which has guns, booze, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Jessica Chastain, Shia Labeouf, Guy Pearce and so much more. 8.00.
Unsolicited movie review: Lawless isn't nearly as good as The Proposition, but any movie that has boys and hijinks, an eyebrowless Guy Pearce, and the guttural sounds of Tom Hardy is worth the price of admission.
Go watch Lawless. Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman, Jessica Chastain... one of the best casts of the year and one of the best films.
just when I thought my Tom Hardy crush couldn't get any bigger.. I saw him as the invincible Forrest Bondurant in Lawless.. holy frijoles! Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce.. so frakking amazing!
Tabitha & I watched Lawless today... it was a great movie!! Very bloody! Tom Hardy is definately one of my favorite actors after watching this movie. Guy Pearce played one heck of a bad guy also!
Lawless was brilliant last night. Great soundtrack by Nick Cave and Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce excellent as ever.
Lawless Briliant film Tom Hardy awesome Guy Pearce is a wanker in the film lol!
Just saw Lawless, was really good. Shia Labeouf surprised me by actually demonstrating acting abilities. Tom Hardy is always pure awesome and Guy Pearce made for a great villain. The movie was absolutely brutal in places. The only disappointment was that Gary Oldman was only in it for 5 Minutes. Still its a solid recommendation
'Lawless' is a very well done and entertaining movie based on a true story of the 'moonshiners' in the 20's and 30's. Lots of action, great story, good actors doing a fabulous understated performance. Tom Hardy plays the taciturn leader of the three brothers in a completely believable way. Also in the film with showy parts: Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce. I loved it, go see it, no deep meaning, but satisfying nontheless.
Tom Hardy, Shia Labeouf, Jason Clarke and Guy Pearce. You let them make a movie together and you get probably 1 of the best movies.
saw "Lawless" (3/5 stars). Very enjoyable film, thanks to Tom Hardy. I thought Guy Pearce's character was too over-the-top brutal/evil. This movie clearly took a lot of liberties with the trueness of the events. It could have been so much better and more realistic if Special Agent Charlie Rakes would have been a good guy just trying to do his job. This way, all of the characters would have been decent people trying to be the best at what they do for a living. And it would offer a much more nuanced type of conflict between the Bondurant brothers and the law.
Great time seeing Lawless. Definitely recommend it. Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce against each other is definitely worth the money anytime. Plus Shia Lebouf put on an outstanding performance.
"Lawless" was fantastic! The story was simple, but delivered quite the pay off at the end. Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce are the shining stars of the film. John Hillcoat delivers yet another quality picture!
I liked "Lawless." As John Hillcoat movies go, "The Proposition" is still my favorite. I'm not a big Shia LeBeouf fan, but he did well, considering he was sharing the screen with Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce, as opposed to large robot toys of my childhood.
"Lawless" was awesome. Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce really did their thing.
Lawless kicks *** but somehow manages to still be full of real, genuine emotion. Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce are gods. Perhaps literally.
Just saw "Lawless" tonight.10 out of 10, brilliant film. Tom Hardy best performance ever and Guy Pearce - b* brilliant!!!
Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce steal the show in LAWLESS Good Movie!
Lawless is gonna be one kick *** movie. Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, And Guy Pearce in one movie.
great film! My mate Phil and I really enjoyed it. Stand outs was Guy Pearce ( nasty but great) and the amazing Tom Hardy.
Lawless, very good film. Fine performances from Guy Pearce, Tom Hardy and Shea Lebouf. Go see it.
Tom Hardy & Gary Oldman HATE being in films with intelligible dialogue. Guy Pearce hates looking human. Good film. Not great. But good.
…Tom Hardy has a stormer. Guy Pearce has a stormer. And now we can forgive Shia Labeouf for Transformers.
Need to see so I can get my Tom Hardy fix wit woo ;) I also love Shia LeBeouf and Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce are fantastic
Gritty, violent, with Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce Great Performances. Wish a bit more GOldman. Shia Lebeouf irritated me
was gritty, very violent in places, with Great Performances from Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce. The end felt a bit rushed though
Saw the movie "Lawless" holy smoke it was awesome! It's going to get many awards. I will be adding that to the personal movie collection. The love for Tom Hardy deepens and Guy Pearce was almost unrecognizable.
Go See LAWLESS. There's a very good chance it's better than anything screening at TIFF. Hillcoat and Cave nail another instant classic, with amazing performances from Tom Hardy (of course) Shia the Beef (surprisingly good) and Guy Pearce steals every scene he's in as a corrupt prohibition enforcer. Amazing score, loved this flick.
Lawless was fantastic. 9/10 Great story about brotherhood, bonding, hidden anger and family. Shia Labeouf's character was thinly written, and I only say that because he is the 1st billed actor on the posters and trailers. He is the main character of the film, but the whole time he feels like a sideshow to the amazing Tom Hardy and great Guy Pearce. The film is accompanied by a slow score and some weird but interesting cinematography. Worth checking out, one of the best of the year. 9/10 Tom Hardy will be getting an Oscar very soon.
Lawless was so good. Maybe my favorite John Hillcoat film. Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce were PHENOMENAL.
Just saw a poster for 'Lawless', starring Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce and Shia Laboeuf. It's like a 'spot the terrible actor' competition that almost no effort has gone into. Like a game of Where's Wally where Wally is in the middle of a desert, or a Spot the Ball competition with two teams standing around the centre circle.
Vash and Justin discuss Tom Hardy's proficiency at grunting (even when not playing a Batman villain), how Guy Pearce may currently be the most successful actor no one recognizes, and the opportunity the Three Stooges missed by not making a bootlegging movie about moonshine.
Lawless is legit. Guy Pearce is so freakin' good, and Tom Hardy and Shia Labeouf are fantastic as usual. Oh and Jessica Chastain may be in fact the most talented actress we have working today. Go see it.
Lawless looks so. *** good. I love me some Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, and Shia LaBoeuf.
Tom Hardy has perfected his "hurm" and Guy Pearce is the best villain since, well, Tom Hardy.
I MUST SEE LAWLESS! Tom Hardy, Shia Leboeuf, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman. It's like all my dreams come true in one film.
Lawless is the ultimate "but" movie. Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, Mia Wasikowska...but Shia Labeouf
is quite good. Not going to say I was amazed by it or anything but I quite enjoyed it. Guy Pearce and Tom Hardy were both excellent
Thinking of watching "Lawless" tonight. Should be a good one with Shia Lebeouf, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman & Guy Pearce:
yes, made me realise I need mine cut in an attempt to look more like it! Also: Guy Pearce's parting and Tom Hardy's jumper.
thought Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce were brilliant, and was lots more fun than expected. Quite forgettable tho. What did you think?
Lawless is out this week! Amazing line-up: Tom Hardy, Ryan Gosling, Guy Pearce... and Nick Cave wrote the script!!
Lawless - Exclusive Clip Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce feature in this exclusive clip of Lawless ahead of its release
Tom Hardy & Guy Pearce are the best *** Tracy villains of the new millennium.
Lawless is terrific with great Nick Cave screenplay brooding Tom Hardy and truly creepy Guy Pearce + Ralph Stanley sings Lou Reed.
Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce, doesn't get much better then that! 😍
Seriously contemplating to go see a second time. Everyone talking Tom hardy..Guy Pearce was a class act!
Just saw Lawless, actually liked it a lot, don't really get a lot of the mixed reviews about it. Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce are great nemeses.
I liked a whole lot. Tom Hardy is excellent, Guy Pearce is creep-me-out villainously fantastic. And there are Tommy Guns.
the perks of being a member of Doubt you'll be disappointed, Guy Pearce is as good as ever and Tom Hardy is fab
you need to go check out "lawless" when you get the chance homie. Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman. Director of The Road
First film preview before breakfast, then it's much anticipated screening with Guy Pearce, Tom Hardy & Gary Oldman
I really want to watch Lawless. I mean, it has Guy Pearce AND Tom Hardy. Can't be wack.
So excited to watch "Lawless". What a cast; Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and Shia Le Beouf. Totally my type of film.
the amazing thing: Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman, and Tom Hardy are all British playing parts with Heavy Southern American Accents
"lawless" is a great Mark Strong But game. Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, with Mia Wasikovska and Gary Oldman. BUT Shia Lebeouf
The film 'Lawless' looks like it has a good cast with Guy Pearce, Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman. So why did they need Shia LaDouche?!!
Lawless was killer. Shia Lebouf and Tom Hardy killed it. *** so did Guy Pearce, Jason Clarke, & Dane Dehaan. Jessica Chastain is chassexxyy
Saw Lawless yesterday! Great film! Tom Hardy is just brilliant. Guy Pearce very creepy and maniacal.
Lawless: are the combined talents of Nick Cave, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce enough to make me watch another Shia Labeouf movie?
was too much fun. Great cast, and standout performances by Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, Shia, Chastain, and my personal fave Gary Oldman
Of course, they /had/ to balance out a movie starring Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman by adding Shia Lebouf to the cast.
So, I really liked Lawless. Even though it got 'eh' reviews. It was an all star cast and I was even impressed by Shia Labeouf in some scenes (suprisingly). I do believe he was one of the only Ameicans in the movie and he failed horribly at a southern accent. That honor went to (the british) Tom Hardy who stole the show as well. He gave us the humor while intimidating everyone on screen and in the theater. I swear this man can do no wrong, he acting is great but, just the looks he gives is- shiver, no words. Guy Pearce was what a villan is suppose to be. I purely hated him and had no remorse for his character. Remember Judge Doom from Who Framed Rodger Rabbit? Yeah, that was him. Gary Oldman, I wanted more of him! Oh so much more but he was badass in the screne time he had. This movie had violence but not gore. I cringed a few times but I also continued eating my corn dog nuggets. Plot: Good but predictable. But that wouldn't stop me from seeing it again. Overall: 8 and a half stars. Not the best movie of ...
Besides how great Tom Hardy was, has one of the better Guy Pearce performances.
It has been a couple of weeks since I updated, but this new wonderful equipment is not as wonderful as they promised. The presentations are great, but getting the system up and running everyday has been a challenge. And no fault of mine. Anyway, starting on August 31, Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones, and Steve Carell star in the romantic comedy that Sony made smaller towns wait to get. It's 'Hope Springs' - PG-13. Also starting Aug. 31, Natasha Calis and Jeffrey Dean Morgan star in the horror thriller called 'The Possession' - PG-13. And Disney wanted us bring back the animated adventure called 'Brave' - PG, for the Labor Day week. Movies that started on Aug. 29 were a western crime drama called 'Lawless' - R, starring Tom Hardy, Shia Le Beouf, and Guy Pearce. Christopher Lloyd, Cary Elwes, and Jaime Pressly star in a family comedy called 'The Oogieloves and the Big Balloon Adventure' - G. Continuing for Aug. 31 - Sept. 6 are "The Campaign' - R, "The Odd Life of Timothy Green' - PG, 'The Expendables 2 ...
"It's not the violence that sets a man apart. It's the distance that he is willing to go." Lawless looks really good. Guy Pearce looks freaky. Tom Hardy looks like a rhino in a hat.
Lawless is not the shoot-em up flick the trailers would have you believe. It is a frighteningly violent and tense film that really picks and chooses it's moments. Constant threat and unrest pace the story of the Bondurant brothers and their moonshine business. Shia Labeouf once again shows that he is every bit as good as he wants to be as he holds his own against very strong performances from Jessica Chastain, Tom Hardy (who continues his streak of brutal and emotional characters...i wanna see a tag match between Forrest Bondurant/His character from Warrior vs. Bane/his character from this means war), Gary Oldman (who returns to a badass bady guy role after far too long) but the one who steals the show is Guy Pearce who flat out brings it as a sadistic special deputy out to shut down the Bondurant Boys. The film is methodical and at times cringingly brutal as it continues to tighten the rope leading up to the grandiose finale, it certainly earns its moments. The film isn't perfect story-wise as it seems t ...
‘LAWLESS’ Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy. A band of 1930s bootlegging brothers’ go to war against corrupted and brutally determined lawmen. No glory or humor in this very tough and gritty story with several scenes that make the shooting of “Bonnie and Clyde” look like a turkey shoot. Liked the depression era scenery, cars and gangster style story telling that is well cast along with Guy Pearce, Jessie Chastain and Gary Oldman. Based on a true story and worthy of 3 stars
Guy Pearce stole the show in Lawless. One of the most cynical performances I have seen in a long time. Proved once again why he is one of my if not my favorite actor. He never disappoints. Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman for how much he was in it gave Great Performances as well. Lawless was a great way to start the "Oscar" season. Defiantly worth your price of admission.
Had a good time watching Lawless(with Tom Hardy, Shia Lebeouf, Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce...really Good Movie..I definitely recommend it) and eating @ Chili's with my friend Chris Odom(Blake). Thanks again Blake..it was good seeing you and hanging out.
Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce were the best actors in Lawless HANDS DOWN.
Going to see "Lawless" at Celebration South at 7:20. Shia Lebouf, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, and Gary Oldman. Anyone want to get let me know.
Just previewed Lawless it is a very good prohibition era drama starring Guy Pearce,Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeof,Mia Washowska.
Truly hyped for lawless, can't go wrong with Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman.
Guy Pearce talks with StarCam's Jennifer Tapiero at the "Lawless" Premiere about his character's odd, psychological qualities and why he loves working with director John Hillcoat and his cast mates Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Dane Dehaan, and Shia LeBeouf.
Been awhile since I've posted about a new movie (mostly due to the last few I've watched being crap), but I really loved Lawless. It's not really an action film, so if that's what you're expecting from it you'll be disappointed. Tom Hardy is great in it, and I've never wanted Guy Pearce to die so much in a movie before. 4/4
Lawless with Gary Oldman, Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, Mia Wasikowska, and Jessica Chastain... yay or nay?
Last night (Saturday) I attended an advance screening of the factual prohibition era mountain moonshiner drama "LAWLESS" at Alamo South with "Midnight Run" song writer/performer Willie Nelson and novelist Matt Bondurant in attendance. Both gave opening remarks before the feature with Bondurant having an extensive Q & A afterward while Willie played at a nearby outdoor Bar BQ joint. The gritty motion picture adapted by Nick Cave for the screen from the family novel was based on the lawless adventures of Matt's grandfather Jack and great uncles played to perfection by Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy, & Jason Clarke. The wonderful ensemble cast also included an intense Guy Pearce & always perfect Gary Oldman as well as the lovely understated beauties Jessica Chastain, & Mia Wasikowska. A real life drama of rural backwoods clan-ish family life in the Virginia mountains 90 years ago director John Hillcoat has crafted a hard edged yet beautiful film that paints a great window into a bygone era of American country life ...
I know like oh my god! lawless has so many good actors Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce!
Must watch Tom Hardy, Shia Labeouf, Gary Oldman & Guy Pearce. Gotta be good. Still can't believe I saw Tom!
Wow, just saw a trailer for Lawless. Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Shia Labeouf and Guy Pearce. Plus The Heavy soundtracked it.
I am so ready to watch the acting excellence of Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, and Guy Pearce (nice to see him return). CANT WAIT!!!
really, really want to see this! Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, and Guy Pearce is back (Where the heck have you been sir?) Jessica Chastain has been growing on me too! Oh ya...then there's Shia Labeouf :S Tom Hardy is British and he does a better southern accent than Shia...in fact, he sounds awesome! Shia Labeouf...learn from your cast memebers
I'm pretty sure it's just to watch a movie cool enough to have Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman and Guy Pearce.
Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce both give great individual performances though.
Celebrity Fix: Guy Pearce and Shia Labeouf Get Lawless in LA!: Well, we didn’t get Tom Hardy ...
Tom Hardy is a "man mountain" (insert your own jokes about things you'd like to climb!)
was awesomely fun. Tom Hardy will be a household name soon. Drama, action, great humor and one of the best villains in Guy Pearce.
Lawless is a decent movie targeted to entertain the mature audience with a True Grit setting. It is based on a true story but still contains a few unrealistic outcomes. This movie is a huge step up for the actor Shia Labeouf (besides Transformers) playing an arrogant coward who eventually gains courage and dumb-blind pride. One thing that this movie has that I haven't seen in awhile is intensifying scenes which were later wiped away by the comedy. This movie failed in deciding where to go next with its sluggish start-up. If you do plan on seeing this R-rated movie, remember its for the grown folks but has an outstanding cast: Shia Labeouf (all three Transformers), Tom Hardy (Bane in the Dark Knight Rises), Gary Oldman (Commissioner Gordan in Dark Knight Rises), Guy Pearce (main character from Memento), Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Alice in Wonderland), Dane Dehaan (main character on Chronicle). Overall it was a decent movie.
Saw trailer for a new movie "Lawless". Hopefully the good acting by Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce outweighs Shia the beef
Very excited about Lawless. Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce and the godlike Tom Hardy in a Nick Cave screenplay. Can't wait!
Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, and Gary Oldman... even Shia LaBoeuf can't ruin Lawless.
Dear Hollwood: One of these actors is not like the others, 1)Tom Hardy 2)Gary Oldman 3)Guy Pearce 4)Shia Labeouf If you want to completely ruin a western style film then thats your business, but please stop giving this guy work.
By in large, I'd check out this flick for Guy Pearce and Tom Hardy.
Oh *** Guy Pearce in a movie that reunites Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman. Yes Please.
Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce and Shia LeBeouf? The director has a history of being depressing but with a cast like this its GOTTA be dope! Lawless (2012) - IMDb
Saw John Hillcoat's "Lawless" tonight and liked it. It was like Arthur Penn rose from the grave, dug up Sam Peckinpah, and together, they tried to make a grittier mash up of Bonnie and Clyde + The Grissom Gang. Cinematography, production design and costume design all solid, and how bad can it be with a cast of Tom Hardy, Shia Labeouf, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Guy Pearce as a sadistic and malicious dancy, and Gary Oldman?
So, the upcoming Prohibition crime thriller Lawless.I don't have any problem seeing Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, and Guy Pearce as hardass gangsters and cops, but Shia Labeouf? Hmm.
Tom Hardy. Gary Oldman. Guy Pearce. If only Joseph Gordon-Levitt starred there instead of Shia Labeouf, Lawless will be a flawless movie.
Tom Hardy stars in Lawless. Get ready for some gangster action starring none other than Tom Hardy, Shia Labeouf and Guy Pearce to name but a few.Given this, MSN Movies has a treat for you in the form of these exclusive pics from the movie, which is due for release in September this year. The story is...
After Skyfall, Daniel Craig will be done with the shaken Martinis, as Bond at least. Rumored to replace: Christian Bale, Jon Hamm, Guy Pearce, Michael Fassbender, & Tom Hardy. There's a clear answer to this in my mind, and if paired with right director could be best Bond yet. discuss
Tom Hardy had me sold on then Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman turned up
Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy--Mia and Guy Pearce are Australian, right? Shia is just not a great actor, so he doesn't count.
New Trailer for LAWLESS Starring Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy, and Guy Pearce: A new trailer for director John Hillco...
Surprise Movie was John Hillcoat's Lawless. Set during Prohibition and starring Tom Hardy, Shia Labeouf and Guy Pearce. Bloody good film!
Radek Stepanek looks like the lovechild of Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce.
It takes a fair amount of talent to appear in a film alongside practiced scene-stealers like Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, Jason Clarke and Shia Labeouf. But of course, as audiences have been aware of for getting on two decades, since he came to attention in
Guy Pearce and Jason Clarke are also featured in these scenes from John Hillcoat's Prohibition Era bootlegging drama.
