Individually our defenders are good, Koscielny etc, there are games where he is world class and seems our best defender, then he has a shocker, and the same applies to both Thomas Vermaelen and Per Mertesacker. Collectively the defence is, in all seriousness, a joke. When they are required to work together, they simply can't do it. For this reason, I think we need a new RB, and 2 world class CB's. He reckons one team is going to spank the other, he just doesn’t know who’ll be doing the spanking. Of course it could be 3-3 just as easily as 3-0 or 0-3; both teams concede too many but are capable of scoring too. We go into the game on the back of two wins and it’s a chance to makeit three in a row before a relatively miserable January is left behind. Wojciech Szczesny - 8 - Saved us. If not for this guy we would have lost by a few goals. Made a great save towards the end from Puncheon and when the ball bounced off Sagna's knee. 1 of the 2 players who I think actually played well today. Bacary Sagna - 3 - Absolute pile of *** today. Out of position constantly which meant Kos had to fill in and left Vermaelen by himself in the middle. Misplaced passes, not getting tight etc. Honestly one of Sagna's worst games in an Arsenal shirt. Was also at fault for the S'ton goal as he faffed around with the ball in the D instead of just getting his foot under it. Nearly scored an own goal as well. Laurent Koscielny - 6 - Honestly didn't do an awful lot wrong. Having to constantly fill in for Sagna made him look worse. Was a bit shaky but hasn't played a lot recently, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Thomas Vermaelen - 7 - Was left by himself in the middle when Kos was sorting Bac out. Didn't make his job any easier. Had a difficult aerial opponent in Lam ...
