Teddy Roosevelt & Paul Ryan
Theodore Teddy Roosevelt (October 27, 1858 – January 6, 1919) was the 26th President of the United States of America (1901–1909). Abe Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Dwight Eisenhower need to come back and glare at Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, and Ted Cruz until they finally cower in their own pee and meekly agree to return the Republican Party back to it's rightful owners.
Public Policy Polling's newest look ahead to the 2016 Presidential race in New Hampshire finds no clear Republican leader. Rand Paul's at 20% to 19% for Chris Christie, 14% for Jeb Bush, 12% for Kelly Ayotte, 10% for Ted Cruz, 7% for Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan, 3% for Bobby Jindal, and 2% for Rick Santorum. Just LOOK at this line up and ponder Abe Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Andrew Jackson. Even Harding, Coolidge and Hoover start to sparkle. HOW can this be our country's finest? (and I don't even know who Kelly Ayotte is).
Memo to my fellow Republicans: We lost...that's right...we lost. Forget the all conspiracy theories that are now starting to surface. Barak Obama has be re-elected and will be serving a second term in office. That's because we lost. The big question now is why did we lose? Here is my take on it. We lost because somewhere along the line we stopped being the party of Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower and became the party of Todd Akin, Michelle Bachmann and Paul Ryan. Instead of studying the writings of Edmund Burke, Barry Goldwater, and William Buckley, we listened to the rantings of Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Ann Coulter and a host of other hatemongers. We lost because we gave up our basic conservative principle of preserving the institutions that strengthened our nation for the siren song of Tea Party anarchy. We lost because we left behind our basic conservative principles of moderating change and avoiding change for changes sake for a reactionary fear of anything new and differen ...
What?Riddle me this -- Paul Ryan's "Path to Prosperity" proposes to sell millions of acres of "unneeded federal land" and billions of dollars worth of federal assets -- mainly to allow for coal mining. His running mate Mitt Romney admits that he doesn't know "what the purpose is" of public lands. Teddy Roosevelt, the great Republican conservationist, once said, “Conservation is a great moral issue, for it involves the patriotic duty of insuring the safety and continuance of the nation.” Obviously -- he knew the purpose. Public lands in Nevada – and other western states — provide an enormous economic boost and sustain hundreds of thousands of jobs. Recent Interior Department statistics show that federally managed public lands in Nevada provided over $1 billion in economic impacts and supported 13,311 jobs in 2010 (and this statistic doesn’t even include the economic impacts of Forest Service lands, managed by the Department of Agriculture). And that's just one example of their "purpose."
"In 2010 the hedge fund manager John Paulson made over 5 billion and only paid 15% or less. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan want to drop the 15% tax on Capital Gains and Dividends to ZERO...So the Wall Street hedge fund managers that makes over 1 billion in stock profits will pay a big ZERO in income taxes...no money for our roads, our interstate, our bridges, our military, our veteran's benefits.WOW could the choice be any clearer...Mitt who has not worked for 5 years and lives off his Capital Gains and Dividends income..and made over 20 million last year..and Mitt with his over sea bank accounts...or Obama..that paid a higher tax rate then Mitt Romney.. For the last 40 years we have lost over 100 billion in lost Federal Taxes yearly, to oversea Corporation Headquarters..There is one building in the Cayman Islands that holds over 400 Corporations Headquarters in small little mailboxes...and our Congress that allowed those mailboxes were getting big campaign donations from those companies and so they did nothin ...
When Kennedy became president, a ton of people found that the president was younger than they were. Before that, you have to go back to Teddy Roosevelt being sworn in to find such a switch. Since then, there has been no greater shift, but Obama comes close. He never served in a war because he was too young for Vietnam, and too old for the Gulf War. I know this, because I lived it. He is not younger than I am, but only by about 3 months So I'm speaking from personnel experience. Currently, the only possible President younger than me is Paul Ryan (younger by 9 years and a few months). I'm voting for the guy a few months older than me (who taught The Constitution in Law School, and know what it's like to be middle class).
If, and I emphasize that 'if' as being a hypothetical in this post. Also, one really needs to know the historical achievements and ideology of both Teddy Roosevelt and Harry Truman from a big picture as they actually cared for the well-being of the country and the people: Note that I stated country and people meaning one whole. If T. Roosevelt or Harry Truman were alive today what do you think they would think, say, or do about our current political mess / catastrophe? For one, I believe T. Roosevelt would probably have not let the Bush deregulation of the 2000s happen for fear that it would crush growth here in the U.S., depress wages, and generally cause a middle-class (the largest class) melt down - it did. He most surely would bust up monopolies, the tight grip Wall Street and China has on the country, once again he would bust-up the mega-banks and have regulations imposed on them with a competent watch-dog put in charge to ensure regulatory enforcement. Lastly, he would surely tell Paul Ryan to use h ...
Hey you lifelong Republicans out there, especially the older ones, might want to take a closer look at what's going on currently in the GOP. I can assure you that from Teddy Roosevelt to Ronald Reagan, the Grand Old Party's traditional leaders must be rolling over in their crypts to see the likes of Paul Ryan & Newt Gingrich & Karl Rove holding leadership roles.
Scott Walker, Neo-Republican water boy for the Koch Brothers, now caught on tape embarrassing all the intellectually disabled faux-republicans who voted for him. Scott Walker shares no DNA with Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, or Bob LaFollette. He and Reince Priebus ran a stealth campaign to subvert Wisconsin traditions and surreptitiously convinced Wisconsin "Republicans" to destroy their own past and to further the interests of Paul Ryan and the Koch Brothers, instead. In June they'll get a second swipe at their IQ exam. Let's hope for them.
