If you are easily offended by the truth, please read no further: An open letter to Eagle fans from a Cowboy fan of 44 years: We, the Dallas Cowboys and Cowboy fans in the Greater Philadelphia area, apologize vehemently for our victory today. We understand that at this time of the year, your lives and rooting interests revolve around two things only 1) The Eagles endless quest for a Super Bowl title 2) Praying that the Cowboys lose. We continue to not fully understand your hatred for The Boys since, in order, here are Dallas's main rivalries 1) Washington Redskins. 2) New York Giants. 3) San Francisco 49ers. 4) The Ryan family 11) The Philadelphia Eagles And although we are constantly brought to side splitting hysterics with things like Tony *** CowGirls, Jerry pays the refs, Chris Christie is campaigning. we suggest that it's time to look in the mirror and move on. Via Todd Archer ESPNDallas - A few thoughts on the Dallas Cowboys' 30-23 win against the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field. What it means: If this doesn't signify the Cowboys are for real, what will? For the first time since 2007 the Cowboys are 5-1 and have their longest winning streak since that season in which they finished with an NFC-best 13-3 mark. They beat the defending Super Bowl champs and handed the Seahawks just their second home loss of the Russell Wilson era. The Cowboys did their best to give it away on special teams, but they continued to fight and claw and left with what was undoubtedly the best win of the Jason Garrett era. The offense stuck to its identity and the defense had its best game, punctuated by Rolando McClain's interception. Six times at 100: It took some time to get going but DeMarco Murray saved his best for last and tied Jim Brown's mark with his sixth 100-yard game in a row to open the season. Murray finished with 113 on 28 carries and he scored the game-winning touch ...

New York Giants gonna win the Super Bowl this season, mark my word.
I predict the 2014-15 Super Bowl will be: The Denver Broncos vs the New York Giants. Manning bowl!
Do you agree or disagree with my NFC East week 4 rankings? 1) Dallas Cowboys: 3-1 The Cowboys have won three straight games and are one of the biggest surprises this year. DeMarco Murray, the starting running back, has been unstoppable. Will the Cowboys finally make the playoffs this year? 2) Philadelphia Eagles: 3-1 The Eagles were 3-0 but lost to the 49ers last week. The offense can be explosive at times, but the defense has to improve in order for them to win the Super Bowl. 3) New York Giants: 2-2 The Giants have quietly won two straight games after a horrible start to the year. If the offense remains this hot, the Giants will be a contender for the playoffs. 4) Washington Redskins: 1-3 The Redskins have been unimpressive this year. A win against the pathetic Jaguars does not hide the issues this team has. This division is strong, so the Redskins have to start winning in order to compete.
Alright Americas Team Family, I have something I need to get off my chest. Here I go... THIS IS PRESEASON, IT HAS NO BARRING ON HOW OUR SEASON IS GOING TO GO. THIS IS TIME FOR PLAYERS TO WORK OUT, GET EXPERIENCE, AND IS THEORETICALLY SCRIMMAGES... GET YOUR PANTIES OUT OF A WAD AND READ A COUPLE EXAMPLES BELOW... Arizona Cardinals In 2009, the Cardinals lost every preseason game, but they ended their regular season at 10-6. They were NFC West champions, and won the Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers. Their loss in postseason didn't come until the Divisional Playoff game against the New Orleans Saints. Buffalo Bills The Bills went 0-4 during the 1990 preseason, but after that they went on to finish the regular season with only 3 losses, at 13-3. The Bills went all the way to the Super Bowl that year, before they lost to the New York Giants in a heart pounding game, 20-19. I'd call that season successful. Chicago Bears In 2010, the Bears were 0-4 in preseason and went 11-5 in the regular season. Th ...

2014 Super Bowl. The matchup between the Seahawks and Broncos was seen by 111.5 million people. Super Bowl XLVI between the New York Giants and New England Patriots was the most-watched game in the history of the NFL. I cannot watch Michael Strahan...giggle like a girl while talking & sitting next to anorexic Kelly Ripa: the same Michael Strahan who spent his entire 15-year career playing for the New York Giants. During his tenure with the Giants, Strahan set a record for the most sacks in a single season in 2001, and won a Super Bowl in his final season in 2007. Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee 2014. No...I just can't.

Derrick Ward, a Super Bowl-winning former running back for the New York Giants and the Houston Texans, had a lot to say about the NFL draft last night, where Michael Sam reacted to his draft pick by joyfully kissing his boyfriend.
BTW, the following non-playoff teams all got more primetime games than the Super Bowl Champions: Pittsburgh, Chicago, Dallas, New York Giants. Unbelievable.
Sayn it rite now! New York Giants will win the super bowl this upcoming season.

But after reviewing Schaub's play for last year and before, Allen seems confident that the quarterback will rebound. He reminded that something similar happened to another player. No, he did not mention Jim Plunkett, who was picked off the scrap heap in 1978 and wound up quarterbacking the Raiders in two Super Bowl victories. He recalled a more recent ascent from the ashes -- Kurt Warner. "I don't think when you watch the whole tape that a lot of it was his fault and I think there was just a wave of momentum against him that was hard for him to overcome," Allen said of Schaub. "But we've all seen guys. . . a guy that comes to my mind is a guy like Kurt Warner went to a Super Bowl, won a Super Bowl in St. Louis, went on to play for the New York Giants and his career didn't go as well as he thought and really a lot of people thought that he was done and then he goes into Arizona and kind of resurrects his career." Warner led the Cardinals into Super Bowl XLII. "So I think the change of scenery will be outst ...
With two Super Bowl Rings and the New York Giants' franchise record for career touchdown passes, Eli Manning makes the case for one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
The things in sports that will NEVER happen: 1. An NFL team winning the Super Bowl and finishing 19-0 (Yes, I know the 2007 New England Patriots went 16-0, but they lost Super Bowl XLII 14-17 to the 2007 New York Giants, so they finished 18-1 that year). 2. A Super Bowl game going into overtime. 3. A seeded college basketball team defeating a seeded college basketball team in NCAA Men's Basketball March Madness. 4. Someone actually winning Warren Buffett's $1 Billion Bracket Challenge (requires someone to correctly predict all 63 NCAA men's basketball tournament games; the odds are 1 in 9 quintillion, or 18 zeroes). 5. A horse winning all three Triple Crown horse races in one year (that's the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes). 6. The Utah Jazz winning the NBA Championship. 7. Seattle, Washington getting another NBA team. (requires either relocation of existing team or expansion -- expansion already ruled out by Commissioner Adam Silver). 8. The U.S. men's national soccer team wi ...
Sports: After giving the New York Giants a chance to improve their offer, Defensive End Justin Tuck is accepting a two-year, $11 million deal with the Oakland Raiders, according to sources. The Raiders announced Tuck's signing Thursday afternoon. The Giants' offer fell far below what Oakland offered and Tuck was in contact with Giants higher-ups Thursday. He had hoped to remain in New York, but the Raiders simply wanted him more. Oakland needed for a pass-rusher after Lamarr Houston agreed to sign with the Chicago Bears. Tuck ranks sixth with the Giants and 99th in NFL history with 60.5 sacks. He had 11 sacks in 2013 after two injury-plagued years in which he totaled only nine. Last season was his fourth with 10 or more sacks. He also won Super Bowl Rings as a member of the Giants following the 2007 and 2011 seasons. In addition to his pass-rushing numbers, Tuck also has a reputation as a strong run-defender and...
7 Ways Top Performers Train Themselves to Win - BILL MURPHY JR. The same habits elite athletes learn on the field can help you become more successful. What separates the true superstars from the middle of the pack? Raw talent plays a part, but other habits are more important. With the Super Bowl mercifully over, I tracked down an elite group of former National Football League stars who went on to become successful entrepreneurs. Not only did they perform in a league of their own, they beat the odds when they left the field, especially given that nearly 80 percent of former NFL players wind up in serious financial trouble once their playing days end. Here's what they learned on the field that can help you in business. Learn From the Greats Fran Tarkenton, 74, was the quarterback in three Super Bowls with the Minnesota Vikings in the 1970s, and later played for the New York Giants. After he retired, he ran fast-food franchises and founded several other businesses before starting a software firm called Knowl ...
Before Primetime there was Big-time - Everson walls Walls received Pro Bowl honors four times (1981, 1982, 1983 and 1985). During this period of time however, the Cowboys were unable to win a Super Bowl, as they lost the NFC title game in 1982 and fell short again in 1983 and 1985. Despite this, Walls remained one of the most feared cover cornerbacks in the league; eventually, quarterbacks were forced to stop throwing the ball to his side. He led the Cowboys in interceptions five seasons, tied with Terrence Newman for the most in franchise history. Walls finally got his Super Bowl Ring in 1990 with the New York Giants.
All Eyes on New York Giants for 2008 NFL Sports Betting Season After their recent Super Bowl victory the New York Giants can't be doing much better - so will they be facing their demise this year? These world champs put a stop to New England last season and are exceptionally notable for their 10 game on the road winning streak. The team is also known for their amazing pass rushers last season. But again, this is all behind us and in the past. What does this team have coming up in their future? Shall we face the music? The Giants are the worst team in the NFC East, according to the lines and odd's from the Olympic bookmakers. Currently they are showing Dallas as the favorite at -$ 1.85 then Philly at +$ 3.25 followed by Washington at +$ 4.25 and finally the Giants at +$ 4.45. According to Olympic is concerned the Giants odds stand at higher than 22-1. Station Casino is reporting the Detroit Lions at 17-1 Super Bowl odds. On Sunday, February 2, 2014, students from the Bergenfield High School Marching Band performed live during the Pepsi Halftime Show at Super Bowl XLVIII. This year’s Super Bowl was featured at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, home of the New York Giants and New York Jets. This year’s halftime show was headlined by music artist Bruno Mars and featured the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The select group of students had been practicing on their routine for several weeks leading up to the big game, putting in tireless hours in the evenings following the school day and even on the weekends. The band marched in sync with members of 4 other New Jersey high school marching bands, as they surrounded the stage carrying giant LED light panels as the artists performed. The Bergenfield Public School District is extremely proud of our marching band for being selected for this amazing honor. The passion, dedication, and discipline of our students have continuously earned them accolades for many decades; however, being ...
BRONCO'S WR Wes Welker: "WE DIDN'T PREPARE WELL FOR NOISE" - "That's the way the start of any Super Bowl is: It's going to be loud," Welker said, per TheMMQB.com. "The fans are going to be yelling. They don't really know why they're yelling -- it's just the start of the Super Bowl. We didn't prepare very well for that, and it showed." - Welker Welker fell to 0-3 in Super Bowls, so his comment is clearly coming from a place of experience and probably frustration. It's interesting to note that in Wednesday's pool report from the Broncos' practice, USA Today's Jarrett Bell told us that John Fox who previously had been to Super Bowls with the Carolina Panthers as a coach and the New York Giants as a Defensive Coordinator turned down the simulated crowd noise during practice. "Normally, it's about five times louder than that," Fox said at the time. "It's not an away game. The ones I've been to haven't been too loud. So we just kind of practice with what we think we're going to get." - Coach Fox Oops..
Riddle me this... What does Brady's and Manning's Super Bowl woes have in common? Take a guess? Wes Welker and having something to do with Giants. Brady lost to Eli Manning and the NY Giants two times with Welker. Manning lost in New Jersey, home of the New York Giants with Welker! BOOM it's the curse of the MVP, the Giants and Wes Welker (LOL).
Strange Super Bowl Quotes Herb Adderly, Green Bay Packers cornerback (Super Bowl II): "(When asked if he would rather play the game in Los Angeles or Miami) "I'll play anywhere for $15,000." Joe Namath, New York Jets quarterback (Super Bowl III): "We're going to win on Sunday. I guarantee it." A reporter to Doug Williams, Washington Redskins quarterback (Super Bowl XXII): "How long have you been a black quarterback?" Eli Manning, New York Giants quarterback on Joe Namath: "Joe Namath was a great, confident man. That was then, this is now. I am not going to guarantee anything." Duane Thomas, Dallas Cowboys quarterback (Super Bowl VI): "If it's the ultimate game, how come they're playing it again next year?" Ernie Holmes, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle, on Super Bowl X in Miami: "I'll be glad to leave here. I feel like eating palm trees. I don't like this place. It's for people with arthritis. They come here to play golf and to die." Julie Brown to Emmitt Smith, Dallas Cowboys running back (Super Bowl ...
Fox analyst Terry Bradshaw did not take part in the network's Super Bowl coverage after the death of his father. Bill Bradshaw died Thursday after a long illness, Fox said Sunday. He was 86. Terry Bradshaw was with his family in Louisiana. Fox Sports dedicated the broadcast to the Bradshaws. Michael Strahan, who was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame a day earlier, replaced Bradshaw on Sunday's pregame show. Strahan, the former New York Giants Defensive End, was originally scheduled to help host Fox's red carpet coverage. A U.S. Navy veteran, Bill Bradshaw retired as vice president of manufacturing for Riley Beaird. Terry Bradshaw won four Super Bowls as quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers before going into TV. The Hall of Famer joined Fox's pregame show in 1994.
Did you know? Paris Lenon is among several Lynchburg-area natives to play in a Super Bowl. Former William Campbell standout Charles Haley and Lynchburg native Romeo Crennel each won five Super Bowls. Cornell Brown (E.C. Glass) and the Baltimore Ravens defeated Keith Hamilton (Heritage) and the New York Giants, 34-7, in Super Bowl XXXV.

Superbowl Prediction: Seahawks over Broncos 24-20 Very tough pick as I could see Broncos win easily, but I believe defense wins championships as perfect season with Brady and Patriots showed against the New York Giants Years Ago. Marshawn Lynch will run for 100 yards, and Peyton Manning will throw an interception or end the game on 4th down. Seahawks pass rush does enough to hit Peyton in game. Oh, and Super Bowl commercials will be amazing this year!
In 1994, one of the very first stories I covered in my television career was in Augusta, Georgia during an interview with former punter, Ray Guy of The Oakland Raiders. At that time, he was being considered for nomination into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I also saw what a Super Bowl Ring looks like and got to hold on to the first one he received in 1976. It was heavy, filled with diamonds galore and awe inspiring! Sadly, he would have to sell his rings during his financial difficulties a few Years Ago. Yesterday, Guy joined New York Giants great Michael Strahan and five other players in Canton. Congratulations to all the winners!!
New York Giants Defensive End Michael Strahan has been elected to the hall of fame. We are expecting Warren Sapp to come out and say something about Strahan and his being worthy of the hall, but the bottom line is Strahan was deserving of the enshrinement. He set and still holds the single season sack record, and has over 100 sacks in a productive Super Bowl winning career. Strahan has also seen success off the field as well in his TV ventures with Fox NFL Sundays and is generally an all around well liked man. He is a player you can say deserves the hall for his play on the field, and his personality off of it.
All the lovers of American Football all over the World, will be watching the Finals of Super Bowl XLVIII tomorrow February 2nd 2014, from Metlife Stadium at Meadowland Sports Complex in East Rutherford,New Jersey, with the kick off scheduled at 6.25pm EST. The season begins in the late summer of the previous calender year. The Super Bowl uses Roman numerals to identify each game ,rather than the year in which it is held. This is the first Super Bowl in which two U.S.States :New York and New Jersey will share hosting duties and it will be the first one to be played outdoors in a cold environment of winter season. Metlife Stadium is also unique that is a venue of Two NFL Teams: the New York Giants and the New York Jets and again this will be the ...
Elway History: Quarterback John Elway, who played college football at Stanford, arrived in 1983. Originally drafted by the Baltimore Colts as the first pick of the draft, Elway proclaimed that he would shun football in favor of baseball (he was drafted by the New York Yankees to play center field and was also a pitching prospect), unless he was traded to a selected list of other teams, which included Denver.[9] Prior to Elway, Denver had over 24 different starting quarterbacks in its 23 seasons to that point.[10] Elway remained the quarterback through 5 Super Bowls, with the Broncos winning two of them. The Broncos lost Super Bowl XXI to the New York Giants, 39–20; Super Bowl XXII to the Washington Redskins, 42–10; and Super Bowl XXIV to the San Francisco 49ers, 55–10; the latter score remains the most lopsided scoring differential in Super Bowl history. In 1995, the Broncos debuted a new Head Coach, Mike Shanahan, and a new rookie running back, Terrell Davis. In 1996, the Broncos were the top seed ...
Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker is glad to be back in the Super Bowl, but he's even more glad that New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is not on the opposing sideline.
An interesting side story in the NFL this year to me is who is the better quarterback? On the AFC you have two old pocket generals. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Two guys that you can trust and are known for IQ levels and passing accuracy. On the NFC side you have two young athletic quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick and Russell Wilson who are known for being a x factor for using their leg and athletic ability to move the ball down the field or avoid sacks in case of a play breakdown. For many years it has been thought that the quarterback position was one reserved for Caucasian men. Never before has an African American or ethnic quarterback ever won the Super Bowl except Doug Williams who came in for the injured Joe Theismann in the first quarter to beat the New York Giants almost 30 Years Ago? One of the major reason for this is because there has been little to no opportunity. Believe me there are over 20 other teams that are paying close attention to these games to determine who they should draft in their f ...
Brandon Myers of the New York Giants will be joining us aboard our 2014 Pro Football Dinner Party cruise during Super Bowl week. Don't miss out on autographed gear, tailgating inspired hors d'oeuvres, an elegant dinner, and lots of fun!
So the Super Bowl is next month. That's when the New York Giants and Boston Red Socks get together to play the game where they TKO the shuttlecock by dribbling it into third base by hitting it with the racket right? You have to slam dunk the homerun by getting forty love past the goalie when you reach the par for the course. Double turkey touchdown!
When the Redskins fire Mike Shanahan, there is a list of coaches who could replace him With Mike Shanahan’s dismissal as Head Coach of the Washington Redskins expected shortly now that the season has ended with a loss to the New York Giants, the focus will quickly shift to who might replace him. As he looks for his eighth Head Coach since he bought the Redskins in 1999, Daniel Snyder will have a wide array of candidates to choose from. The next coach should be able to maximize Robert Griffin III, and that doesn’t mean Art Briles is the guy. Washington is in disarray, but that’s when the franchise is best — selling optimism during the offseason. In a possible audition for other teams, Redskins QB Kirk Cousins completes 19 of 49 passes for 169 yards in a 20-6 loss to the Giants. The list of prospective coaches is expected to include former Super Bowl winners Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden and less-accomplished former coaches such as Ken Whisenhunt and Lovie Smith. Up-and-coming offensive coordinators Ja ...
Giants vs. Redskins December, 28, 2013 By Dan Graziano | ESPN.com One more for the road, as the New York Giants will finally wrap their long-lost season with a home game against the Washington Redskins at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Metlife Stadium. It will be the last game in that building until the Super Bowl, which will come complete with weeks' worth of minute and detailed analysis. This game, which is justifiably of interest to far fewer people, comes with this analysis. A couple of things to watch in case you have absolutely nothing else to do and you're tuning in or going to the game Sunday: Encore for Tuck? Defensive End Justin Tuck had four sacks when the Giants beat the Redskins in Week 13, but he'll have a different target Sunday. The Redskins benched franchise quarterback Robert Griffin III with three games to go in the season and replaced him with Kirk Cousins, who will be under center (or in the shotgun) for the Redskins in this one. Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said last week that the team plans ...
New York Giants rookie safety Cooper Taylor and his girlfriend are bringing the sharing economy to the 2014 Super Bowl.
New York Giants safety Cooper Taylor is renting out his apartment for Super Bowl week.
New York Giants rookie Defensive Back Cooper Taylor is putting up his condo by Metlife Stadium, where the Super Bowl will be played on February 2, 2014, for rent for $9,000 during Super Bowl week. Taylor shares the condo with his girlfriend, who is a real estate broker, and he said it would be too depressing to stay around when his team is not playing in the big game. “It will be too depressing to stick around for the madness,” Taylor told the New York Post. “We thought it would be the best time to get out of the city and go on vacation because that week will be a madhouse. I am definitely disappointed that we are not playing in it. It would make it a lot more fun,” said Taylor. According to the Craigslist ad, “the stadium is actually 0.6 miles away and the train is just two blocks from the building.” Photo: Star-Ledger …read more Source: Breitbart

Memories of Candlestick Park. Kezar Stadium was built for football, Seals Stadium for baseball, while Candlestick was built to seal the deal (Mayor Christopher/Horace Stoneham) that brought the New York Giants to San Francisco. The Good: For the 49ers, The "Catch"...the most consecutive 10 win seasons in NFL history...eventual Hall of Famers, Dave Wilcox, Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, Jerry Rice, Fred Dean, Steve Young, Bill Walsh...5 Super Bowl trophies...tailgating and the Paul Potyen-led 49er Band. For the Giants, the 1962 and 1989 World Series (I went to the '89 Series game that the earthquake struck and the 'Stick held up.thank you.) The Bad: The 1962 and 1989 Giant's World Series (they lost). The "Fumble" (Preston Riley). The Ugly: Night time baseball games. The "Joe Thomas" years. As a former season ticket holder (going back to 1965 at Kezar) for over 30 years, I attended 49er games with ver ...
I post this being a disappointed NYG fan but regardless of today's outcome, I agree with NYG great Lawrence Taylor. The time has come for Head Coach Tom Coughlin to go, it's not just about the record although that plays into it. The Giants have mailed it in too many times this year and last season, has anyone forgotten the Falcons and Ravens games that had to be won to better secure a playoff spot and the team got DESTROYED! Coughlin has been in my opinion the best coach the NYG have had the last 40 years not named Bill Parcels. The facts are the facts, the players aren't listening or buying in anymore, it happens to even the best of coaches like Chuck Noll of the Steelers and Pat Riley during the end of his run with the Lakers endured the same thing. In my opinion a new voice and a roster upheaval are in the best interest of the New York Giants. Coughlin brought us fans 2 Super Bowl Rings and I am eternally greatful but don't discount 4 of the last 5 years no playoff appearances also and a stinker of a f ...

New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin called his team's upcoming game against the Dallas Cowboys "an opportunity" Wednesday. Some of his best Defensive Players took it to another level. "Personally, I feel like this game is going to determine the outcome of the season," said safety Antrel Rolle. "We can't walk away with a loss." "Instead of us digging ourselves out of a hole, if we lose this football game, it's more like them putting dirt on us," said Defensive End Justin Tuck. "Mathematically no, [losing] doesn't mean we're out of it. But we're kinda looking at it as a must-win." "It's like a Super Bowl to us," said fellow Defensive End Jason Pierre-Paul. "We need it badly, and we gotta get it." After an 0-6 start, the Giants have won four in a row to put themselves back in the NFC East race. The first-place Philadelphia Eagles are just a game and a half in front at 6-5. The Cowboys are 5-5. The Cowboys are also the team that handed the Giants their first of six consecutive losses, on the first Sunday of th ...
New York Giants: 5 Players to Watch vs. Minnesota Vikings - The irony is difficult to miss. As the number on the daily Super Bowl countdown “clock” posted on a bulletin board shrinks, so, too, do the 0-6 New York Giants' chance to get into a position to compete for the Super Bowl.  Yet a saving grace for the Giants which continues to give them a sliver of hope has been the play of their three NFC East division opponents—the Dallas Cowboy...
Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall were simply too much to handle. So was Tim Jennings. Cutler threw two touchdown passes to Marshall, and Jennings had two of the Chicago Bears' three interceptions against Eli Manning in a 27-21 victory over the winless New York Giants on Thursday night. The Bears (4-2) snapped a two-game slide following a 3-0 start. New York is 0-6 for the first time since the 1976 team dropped its first nine, a stunning turn for a franchise that won the Super Bowl two Years Ago. Cutler and Marshall were in tune early on, connecting for two touchdowns, and Jennings returned an interception 48 yards for a score as Chicago built a 24-14 halftime lead. The Bears were up by 13 when New York's Brandon Jacobs ran it in from the 1 in the closing seconds of the third after Jennings got called for interference against Hakeem Nicks near the goal line. That cut it to 27-21, but Jennings made up for it in a big way when he picked off an overthrown pass by Manning intended for tight end Brandon Myers at ...
feels justified in my decision to follow my New York Giants, this season, via the Internet: after today's 36-21 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, they are SOLIDLY in last place in the NFC East! This dismal of a start has been experienced by me and other Giant fans in the past: in 1987, the Super Bowl defending champion-Giants started out 0-5 (during a strike season) in order to finish 6-10 (I was 20); in 1979, the Giants started out 0-4 (in Phil Simms' rookie season) in order to finish 6-10 (when I was 12); and the 1976 Giants' team started out 0-9, finishing a pathetic 3-11 (when I was 9). While the 1966 Giants finished worse than any of those teams, at 1-12-1 (one year before I was born), I really would like my team to stop chasing THAT record...I'm not thinking "Super Bowl" anymore...I just want us to do better than "Pee Wee League", at this point.):-(
Couple of random thoughts regarding the NFL: The San Francisco 49ers must be thinking about how they gave up on Alex Smith. Chiefs are 3-0, and the 49ers are 1-2, outscored 56-10 in their last two games. Colin Kaepernick stunk it up again today. He might be a problem. I thought they were Super Bowl favorites, but they will need some breaks just to win their division. The Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants are stinking it up. They are teams looking for leadership and are unlikely to make the playoffs. The Washington Redskins have a lousy defense. Robert Griffin III might be Superman, but their defense will sink them. The Philadelphia Eagles need to be blown up. I watched the players ignore Chip Kelly. They ignored Andy Reid as well. Losers. The Miami Dolphins are a huge surprise. They play hard and their success is showing (3-0). I just hate their new helmets and uniforms. Yet again, the lack of understanding tradition just *** I might not be a Jerry Jones fan, but I do appreciate his willing ...
Giants | Dan Connor cooperating with authorities - Updating a previous item, a New York Giants spokesman said Sunday, July 7, that LB Dan Connor had spoken with the club and was cooperating with the authorities in Philadelphia. Connor's arrest is the 30th involving an active player since the Super Bowl, according to a chart kept by the San Diego Union-Tribune. Connor, 27, was trying to enter a terminal at the airport when a TSA officer saw the knife on an X-ray machine ...
Football is my favorite sport but this is getting out of hand! It has been an awful offseason for the NFL. 27 active players have been arrested in total so far, most notably star New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. Since the Super Bowl on February 3, NFL players have been arrested for common crimes like DUI and public intoxication, but also for things like street racing, child abuse, and trying to solicit a prostitute. Using the comprehensive databases of both Pro Football Talk and the San Diego Union Tribune, here’s the list of the 27 active players who have been arrested so far: Michael Boley, New York Giants (Feb. 8): Arrested for child abuse in Alabama Da’Quan Bowers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Feb. 18): Arrested for having a gun in his luggage at LaGuardia Airport, charges later reduced to disorderly conduct Al Netter, San Francisco 49ers (Feb. 22): Arrested for DUI in California Desmond Bryant, Cleveland Browns (Feb. 24): Arrested for criminal mischief in Miami J’Marcus Webb, Chicago Be ...
Carolina Panthers General Manager Dave Gettleman, who spent 15 years in the New York Giants' front office, likes the championship experience Domenik Hixon and Chase Blackburn bring to a team that last season had no players who had won a Super Bowl.
Ahmad Bradshaw signs with the Colts. Wishing him nothing but the best. Man ran hard for the New York Giants in 2 Super Bowl victories. Lots of tread on those tires and it was time to part ways, but would love to see him succeed in Indy.
LAKE FOREST, Ill. Shawn Thornton Jersey. -- The Chicago Bears have hired Kansas City Chiefs director of college scouting Phil Emery as their new General Manager. Emery was an area scout for the Bears from 1998-2004 and replaces Jerry Angelo, who was fired after an injury-riddled 8-8 season. Emery and New England Patriots director of pro personnel Jason Licht were finalists and both interviewed twice. The Bears also interviewed San Diego Chargers director of player personnel Jimmy Raye, New York Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross, and current director of player personnel Tim Ruskell. Emerys hiring comes after a major collapse marked by season-ending injuries to quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Matt Forte, as well as a drug scandal involving backup receiver Sam Hurd. The Bears dropped five in a row after a 7-3 start, spoiling a promising season before closing with a win at Minnesota. Chicago has now missed the playoffs four times in five years following a trip to the Super Bowl after th ...
ON THIS DAY Jun 8, 1966: NFL and AFL announce merger On this day in 1966, the rival National Football League (NFL) and American Football League (AFL) announce that they will merge. The first "Super Bowl" between the two leagues took place at the end of the 1966 season, though it took until the 1970 season for the leagues to unite their operations and integrate their regular season schedules. In 1958, the National Football League Championship Game between the Baltimore Colts and New York Giants drew 45 million viewers on NBC and established pro football as an entertainment commodity to rival baseball. The NFL suddenly had a line of businessmen waiting to purchase new franchises in new markets, but most were arrogantly turned away. This prompted Lamar Hunt, the wealthy son of an oil tycoon, to recruit seven businessmen from cities hungry for pro football to form a rival league. The resulting American Football League was publicly welcomed by NFL Commissioner Bert Bell, who said that competition would stimula ...

Super Bowl Monday: From the Persian Gulf to the Shores of West Florida: The New York Giants, the Buffalo...
Eli Manning is not the player his older brother is during the regular season, but he has a superior playoff résumé with the New York Giants. So I'll go ahead and say something I've said before: Eli -- a future Hall of Famer, thanks to his knack for the moment -- is better in the clutch than Peyton. Eli is 8-3 as a playoff quarterback, with two Super Bowl wins against the team that has long served as Peyton's kryptonite, the Bill Belichick-coached Patriots. And Eli has twice ended spectacular seasons by the Green Bay Packers, stopping first Brett Favre and then Aaron Rodgers with amazing playoff wins. - Adam Schein May 21st, 2013

Charles Woodson will receive quite a greeting from Oakland Raiders fans when he makes a free agent visit to the team's facilities on Tuesday. A few of his potential teammates in Oakland will give him a warm reception as well. Woodson spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Raiders after being selected with the fourth overall pick in 1998. He signed with Green Bay following the 2005 season and helped the Packers win a Super Bowl title five years later before being released by the team in February. He has said he would like to play for a contender and has visited a handful of teams since being let go by Green Bay -- including San Francisco and Denver. His agent, Carl Poston, has told ESPN's Josina Anderson that the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants have also expressed interest. Woodson and the Raiders have also had preliminary talks. At Broncos OTAs on Monday, cornerback Champ Bailey said he hopes his team finds a way to sign Woodson. "Who wouldn't want to have a guy like that on their team? I'm all ...
Three-time All-Pro Ronde Barber is retiring after a 16-year career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that included a Super Bowl title and five Pro Bowl appearances. The Bucs announced Wednesday night that the 38-year-old twin brother of former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber will not return to play on a defense overhauled since the end of last season. Tampa Bay acquired Darrelle Revis, Dashon Goldson and second-round draft pick Johnthan Banks for its secondary.
Record: 10-4, second, NFC East Points scored/allowed: 336/218 Coach: Tom Landry Summary: The pattern of 10-4 Wild Card teams of the ‘70s is something to behold — I sense a replay project. After two Super Bowl appearances, Dallas slips a game behind the archenemy Redskins. The ‘Boys spread out their losses — to Green Bay, Washington, San Francisco and the New York Giants — rather evenly during the season. Avenging their defeat by the Niners with a thrilling 30-28 divisional victory, the defending champs were handed a definitive 26-3 beatdown by George Allen’s Redskins in the conference title match at RFK on New Year’s Eve. Notably, the Cowboys scored fewer points than the 7-7 Jets (who totaled 367), as well as both participants in the Immaculate Reception (Steelers 343, Raiders 365) — but they still rightfully warrant a 40-plus offense.  Offense: 41 Offensive line: 21. Another staggering display of power and skill that should be rewarded in a matchup system. All-Pro guard John Niland and ...
New York Giants during yesterday signed a three-year contract for $ 8 million ($ 3 million guaranteed) with former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle - Cullen Jenkins. Signing on will receive a bonus of $ 2 million. Jenkins thirty-two, which was released a few days ago from Philadelphia in the middle should sports grounds Giants defensive substitute Chris Cantyho released. Cullen Jenkins Jenkins joined the NFL in 2003, when nedraftovaným with him as a free agent contract signed Green Bay Packers. Jenkins played in Green Bay seven seasons. In 2011, the Packers won the Super Bowl. Before the 2011 season, signed with the Eagles as a free agent a five-year contract for $ 25 million. During the two seasons that he played in Philadelphia, recorded 66 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble. According to initial speculation, the Jenkins could return to the Green Bay Packers, where in 2003 he started his professional career. Giants defensive last season allowed an average of 383.4 yards per game, which puts it ...

Now after 3 knee surgeries and 2 foot surgeries he dropped his time in the 40 yard dash and faster than he was when he got drafted 7 Years Ago! He went from a 4.46 to a 4.39. He just got signed to the Seattle Seahawks and credits it all to Herbalife!!! The Proof is in the Product that is delivers always !! It's your time now! Herbasavage
Over the last two seasons the Atlanta Falcons have established themselves as one of the top teams in the NFC. They went 13-3 in ’10 and then put up a solid record of 10-6 last season. But despite all that success in the regular season, they have yet to duplicate that in the postseason. First, they got crushed at home by the eventual Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers two seasons ago and then last season they were thumped by a score of 24-2 by the New York Giants, who also went on to win the Super Bowl. So perhaps they’ve also had a bit of bad luck in drawing two powerhouse teams in the playoffs, but Head Coach Mike Smith knows that now is the time to start winning playoff games instead of just making it to playoff games. Will this be the year they get it done? Make sure you have Atlanta Falcons football tickets so you can be there in person to find out. One of the main reasons for the resurgence of this team has been the addition of quarterback Matt Ryan to the Atlanta Falcons roster. The young qua ...
One Strong Soldier: Colonel Gregory D. Gadson,USA about what you can do. Colonel Gregory D. Gadson, USA, took command of Fort Belvoir, Virginia on June 25, 2012. The garrison is 47,000 strong. He is an Iraqi War veteran who lost both legs above the knees and injured his right arm badly when his vehicle was hit by an IED in 2007. He was one of the first amputees to receive the next-generation powered prosthetic knee and is the first double amputee to take command of a major installation in the Army. He is a West Point graduate and former Army football player, a starting line backer. In 2008, he spoke to the New York Giants football team prior to the Super Bowl, talking to them about service, duty, perseverance, and adversity. He told them, “You have to fight for every yard, every inch.” Gadson was named “Honorary Captain” of the team. The Giants won. ~Sharon~
Free agent defensive tackle Chris Canty has visited with the Tennessee Titans and will have another meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs in the near future, according to a report from Mike Garofolo at USA Today. Garfolo also reports that Canty will likely meet with more teams after the Chiefs. Canty was cut by the New York Giants in a salary cap move on February 6th, with the team due to owe the player $6.5 million in 2013 had he stayed on the roster. Canty, 30, won Super Bowl XLVI with the Giants in 2012 but missed a large chunk of the 2012-2013 season with a sprained MCL. Even with the injury absence, Canty recorded three sacks and 26 total tackles in nine games. ~SI.com
According to the Eagles trend, Super Bowl XLVIII will be won by one of the following... Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, and Arizona Cardinals. If your team is not on this list, they have no chance to win the Super Bowl.
the last four Super Bowl winners have all been the opponent when the Eagles started yet another disappointing season at Lincoln Financial Field. The Baltimore Ravens lost to Philadelphia 24-23 in Week 2, yet they were still able to join the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints (all winners over the Eagles, by the way) in the line of eventual champions. Is this nothing more than a fun coincidence, who knows but if you're headed to Vegas, Dallas is their home opener next season
It hasn't even been 24 full hours since the Baltimore Ravens won the Super Bowl and media pundits on ESPN Radio and CBS Sports Radio are ready to coronate Joe Flacco, the Ravens QB and Super Bowl MVP, as the league's newest "elite" quarterback.   This is nothing new. A year ago, following the New York Giants' amazing Super Bowl victory, many sports reporters were attempting to crown Eli Manning as the league's newest "elite" QB. These same shows are asking the same questions this year that they posited last year, namely: "Where does Joe Flacco [or, last year, Eli Manning] rank among the league's elite quarterbacks?"   The truthful answer to this question is, quite simply, nether quarterback deserves the "elite" moniker. I understand why the media wants to tag these players as some of the game's best. In both cases they just won the biggest game in the sport and brought the biggest prize home to their fans. Emotions are running high as the final game has been played and football fans now have months bef ...
So...and this is in writing, the New York Giants will face the New England Patriots in Metlife Stadium next year for the Super Bowl.
History lesson, Jerome Bettis last year, Pittsburgh won the Super Bowl, Michael Strahan last year, New York Giants, won the Super Bowl, now Ray Lewis last year and Baltimore win the Super Bowl
For all you SECer's who think your conference is the be all, end all... Nebraska Has Longest Super Bowl Streak Thanks to Baltimore Ravens punter Sam Koch, Nebraska's Super Bowl streak lives on. According to Dan Apple, the assistant director of communications for Florida's football program who has compiled the data, at least one former Cornhusker has been on one of the teams in the big game for each of the past 20 years. That is the longest streak by any college in the country. The streak has nearly been shattered in each of the past three seasons, as just one player on either team was a former Cornhusker. In 2011 it was Green Bay Packers running back Brandon Jackson. The next year it was New York Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara, and now it's Koch. Who is No. 2? Purdue and Notre Dame are tied with a 14-year streak. In terms of overall participation, Penn State leads the way. A former Nittany Lion has competed in 42 of the 47 Super Bowls, with 49ers linebacker Navorro Bowman being this year's representat ...

What we're hearing in New Orleans ... … a dissenting voice on the Ray Lewis retirement tour. It's former New York Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer, who lost to Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl
Amani Toomer knows what it is like to go up against Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl, as his New York Giants were on the losing end of a blowout in Super Bowl XXXV. When the Ravens take the field 12 years later in Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco
This date in sports history: Sunday, January 27, 1991, the "Silver Anniversary" of the Super Bowl took place, as the Buffalo Bills and New York Giants squared off in Super Bowl 25 at Tampa Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The Bills came in with their well-known "hurry up" offense, orchestrated by quarterback Jim Kelly, running back Thurman Thomas and wide receiver Andre Reed; the Giants, on the other hand, were known for their "power football" method, designed by their Head Coach, Bill Parcells, which involved long, sustained drives resulting in time coming of the clock. In this case, "power football" prevailed---if only barely---as the Giants squeaked by the Bills, 20-19, for their second Super Bowl title in five years, the victory coming when the Bills' placekicker, Scott Norwood, missed a 47-yard field goal attempt with only :08 remaining! Giants' running back Ottis Anderson was named the game's Most Valuable Player, with 21 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown. Giants' quarterback Jeff Hostetler--who had i ...
Ray Lewis Retired, Looked up greatest Linebackers, here is some of what I found Greatest NFL Linebacker of All Time: Ray Nitschke Ray Nitschke is your classic NFL goon. Think of a 6'3 man wearing a Packers jersey, who wags an unforgiving finger on the Green Bay Frozen Tundra —with a toothless scowl. Orphaned at three and from a working-class Chicago suburb, Ray Nitschke was quick to deliver a forearm shiver and brawl at the point of attack. As a bully, it would appear as if Nitschke were hellbent upon his childhood turmoil into a source of physical pain for any opponent. Between the tackles, Ray Nitschke controlled the Defensive Backfield for Vince Lombardi during a dynasty run that resulted in three NFL Championships and the first two Super Bowl victories. For Nitschke, the dominance included his very own MVP performance in the 1962 NFL Championship Game —when he recorded several tackles, two fumble recoveries, and one batted ball that led to an interception and a 16-7 win versus the New York Giants. ...

Ed Reed Fined $55,000 By NFL For Hit On Victor Cruz Ravens free safety Ed Reed has been fined $55,000 for his hit on New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz, a source with knowledge of the situaton confirmed. Part of the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year's shoulder glanced off of Cruz's facemask during the Ravens' 33-14 victory over the defending Super Bowl Champions, triggering a penalty for an illegal hit announced by the referee as illegal contact to the helmet and neck area of a defenseless receiver.
One comeback wasn't enough for Kurt Warner. Already famous as the man who went from stocking grocery shelves to tossing touchdown passes in the 1990s, Warner's career has been a series of short peaks and long valleys since his win in Super Bowl XXXIV. He was cut by both the St. Louis Rams and New York Giants, and was benched multiple times by the lowly Arizona Cardinals. But this year, Warner came back all over again, and has led the Cardinals to the first Super Bowl appearance in team history. Warner tells anyone who will listen that his main story, and his main interest, is his Christian faith. He and his wife, Brenda, lead the First Things First Foundation, which provides a range of services for families in extreme need.
Despite a lopsided Monday Night Football loss to the New York Giants, the Green Bay Packers are still contenders for the NFL's Super Bowl.

"Asking whether the New York Giants can reach the Super Bowl is like asking whether your kid can clean up his room in time for company. You've seen him do it, and it doesn't seem like that long ago, but the way the room looks right now makes it hard to believe. The Giants bring all the résumé you want from a Super Bowl contender. Tom Coughlin may have locked up a spot in the Hall of Fame last season when he led the Giants on the second surprise Super Bowl run of his career. The Giants are built to win in the modern NFL, with a high-octane passing offense and a fearsome pass rush off which the rest of the defense works. The issue they're having right now is that Manning and his receivers aren't clicking, and a few of those pass-rushers ...

What's in a name? A name is the defining characteristic of a person, corporation, sports team, etc. With that said what image do you have when you say Cleveland Browns? Does the name illicit respect or fear? When you say Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, etc., what is the image do you create in your mind? For example, Pittsburgh Steelers brings to mind a tough, hard working man who takes no bull. Now, when you say Cleveland Browns what image do you see? Well, I see the teams logo, a smirking little elf dressed in brown clothes not exactly a rough and tough image. I've heard it said that a primary element of football is to impress your will on the other team. I believe part of the problem with the present Cleveland Browns is the name and the image it projects. Is there any way the name of the team could be changed? Another aspect, the Head Coach, what type of image does he project? From what I've seen, Cleveland's Head Coach is a wimp. It shows in the style o ...
What are the odds? San Francisco Giants win the American World Series, Yomiuri Giants win the Japanese World Series. Might go place a bet on the New York Giants to win the Super Bowl.
In almost 12 hours the Browns square off against the Ravens at Cleveland Brown's Stadium. Go Browns baby!! I am calling for a Browns victory over the old Browns. HA HA. Which are the Ravens. That should have been the Browns in the 2000 Super Bowl beating the New York Giants, not the Baltimore Ravens! We will have our day. We have a decent defense. A good running back in Trent Richardson. A quarterback improving his game like Brandon Weeden. And also a playmaker like Joe Haiden on defense. The future is unwritten. The Browns one day will give this city something to talk about.
I just want to say I was on Game Center for the Pittsburgh Steelers VS New York Giants game and the fans earned my respect. They were leaving good clean comments. Saying this game will be good and that they had respect for Steelers fans. Last week on the Game Center the Redskins fans were all rude and leaving nasty comments. Just ignorant stuff. Just a bunch of awesome fans having respect for the game! I love that. Plus Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning both got drafted in the same year (2004). Both of them having two Super Bowl wins.

New York Giants: Eli Manning is Elite, they have the experience on both sides of the ball and on the sidelines, and nobody wants to play them in January. Atlanta Falcons: Matt Ryan has taken the next step and they have Weapons galore to throw to, also they are devastating in the dome and home field looks likely. The bad: The New York Giants destroyed the San Francisco 49ers 26-3. Alex Smith is not an elite quarterback. The ugly: Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb of the Baltimore Ravens are out for the season due to injuries. They can kiss their trip to the Super Bowl this year goodbye. Have a great day everybody!

With all the legacy that the Niners have with players like Young,Montana and Jerry Rice, today they set a franchise record in total yardage today, that is crazy. While the players on the team aint future hall of famers yet, what makes this team dangerous is the coach, hes ruthless and has football mind like Bill Bellicheck in New England. Whats the proof? When he got the team it was basically the same as the previous year and he only was one game away from the Super Bowl. The team that stole the Super Bowl dream faces them next week, the New York Giants. We'll see if they can beat em again.
In sports, there are truly wonderful moments of "disbelief," when you ask yourself, "Did this really happen?" On January 26, 1987, the New York Giants won their first Super Bowl. On October 27, 2004, the Boston Red Sox won their first World Series in 86 years. But when your own son is part of something truly special that hadn't happened in 18 years -- River Valley defeating Pleasant in varsity football on October 5, 2012 -- that feeling is magnified tenfold. Both teams battled hard, but the Vikings had it when they need it most!
Notable NFL teams at .500 or worse: New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, Washington Redskins, defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants, Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets, New England Patriots, etc. We're through 1/4 of the season, people. Chill. Go Cowboys. (At least we're not the Browns)
Some things that are true about me: I was born under the 48 star flag. I Love Lucy was still producing new shows when I was a preschooler. I watched The Andy Griffith Show, Leave it to Beaver, and The Twilight Zone when the shows were still in production. I can remember watching President Kennedy give speeches on TV. We practiced "duck and cover drills" in school to prepare for possible nuclear attack from the Russians. When I was a kid, everyone knew when a family got a color TV because it was such a big event. When I was born, the West Coast had no Major League Baseball teams. The Giants were the New York Giants and the Dodgers were the Brooklyn Dodgers. There was no Super Bowl when I was very young. The first time I bought a McDonald's burger on my own, it cost 15 cents. During my childhood, there were still many World War I vets around. Schools were still segregated during the first few years I attended school in Georgia. I never had any black classmates until I was 10 years old. Finally I have this t ...

Sunday Night! The Defending Superbowl Champion New York Giants are going sack and tear apart the Mike Vick and beat the Eagles and continue the march towards the Super Bowl that is all!
When was the last time the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl? And when was the last time the New York Giants Won the Super Bowl. and how about the Pittsburgh Steelers. how many Super Bowl wins do the Steelers have? (just curious).
Just a thought before I head out the door! Wouldn't you LOVE to see the NCAA National Champion play the winner of the Super Bowl? I know nothing like that will ever happen, but can you imagine what the Networks or Pay TV would offer for the rights to that game? And who would YOU have put your money on if last season the New York Giants had gone up against the Alabama Crimson Tide? And how much would YOU have paid to be able to watch that game? Just saying...
The New York Giants, despite missing several injured players, are playing like defending Super Bowl Champions. The Carolina Panthers are playing like a team that was 6-10 last season, instead of looking like a team on the rise. The Giants are leading 20-0 at halftime at Bank of America Stadium. What’s particularly disturbing from a Carolina perspective is the defense. It has been horrible. The Panthers haven’t been able to stop the run or the pass. The Giants scored on their first four possessions. Carolina’s offense hasn’t been very good, either, but I’d put most of the blame for the first half on the defense. I’d like to throw out some ideas on how Carolina can come back in the second half. But I’m having a tough time seeing that because I don’t think the Panthers are capable of getting back in this one. But we’ll see. I’ll be back with Rapid Reaction as soon as the game ends and will full that up with a longer column after I go down to Carolina’s locker room for interviews.
Come join us tonight at John's Place and watch the defending Super Bowl Champions, New York Giants, face off against the Carolina Panthers!!!
It's a Super feeling for the 2012 Super Bowl champs, New York Giants, as they get a keepsake from Tiffanys for their victory over the New England Patriots. V...

In 2007, the New York Giants started the season 0-2. They didn't just lose these games, they literally got their *** handed to them in both. The Giants were then able to rally and, at season's end, made it to the Super Bowl and defeated the then undefeated New England Patriots. So bandwagoners, hop off now!! Because us real fans don't want ya around!! GO SAINTS!!
can't wait for Tampa Bay Bucs vs the Super bowl winner the New York Giants choose between the two teams the bucs or the giants.
Jerry Jones has a lot to be happy about this week: His Dallas Cowboys not only started off the 2012 season with a big road win against the Super Bowl-champion New York Giants , but Forbes magazine has ranked the Cowboys the most valuable franchise in the NFL. According to Forbes' annual listing, the Cowboys are worth a whopping $2.1 billion.
Great Article by Ray Diddy I know. It looked ugly Sunday and it didn’t look any better Monday when NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger and I sat down to watch the tape. In fact, in some ways it looked worse. At the end, the scoreboard still read Eagles 17, Browns 16, and for those who are only concerned with the bottom line maybe that’s enough. But when a team has Super Bowl aspirations – and the Eagles still insist they do – they have to look at what happened in Cleveland and cringe. The Baltimore Ravens are coming to the Linc in just a few days. The New York Giants, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions loom on the horizon. You can include Arizona if you wish (they are on the schedule Week 3), but I’m trying to limit this discussion to the heavyweight division. The point is the Eagles will soon be facing some of the NFL’s better teams and if they play the way they played Sunday, they will be in deep trouble. And unless they regroup on offense, Vick might not make it to the bye week. He c ...

The history of the New York Giants, an American Football team which currently plays in the NFL's National Football Conference, comprises more than 80 seasons. The Giants were founded in 1925 by Tim Mara in the then five-year-old NFL. Mara owned the team until his death in 1959, when it was passed on to his sons Wellington and Jack. During their history the Giants have acquired eight NFL championships, four of which came in Super Bowls. In just its third season, the team finished with the best record in the league at 11–1–1 and was awarded the NFL title. In a fourteen year span beginning in 1933, New York qualified to play in the NFL Championship Game eight times, winning twice. They did not win another championship until 1956, aided by several future Hall of Fame players such as running back Frank Gifford, linebacker Sam Huff, and offensive tackle Roosevelt Brown. From 1958 to 1963, the Giants played in the NFL Championship Game five times, but failed to win. The 1958 NFL Championship Game, in which t ...

I watched the Cowboys beat the New York Giants last night in the NFL season opener. Was the first regular-season game I've watched since 2008. Was like riding a bike. I found the old groove in no time, which means I fell asleep midway through the second quarter. (Judging by the score, it looks like Eli Manning did the same). Also found another old groove -- losing. I picked the defending Super Bowl Champions to beat Jerry Jones' bunch. Wrong.
Are you ready for ... Wednesday night football? The Dallas Cowboys and defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants will kick off the NFL season on NBC Sports at 5:30 p.m. Pacific. In case you missed it, our NFL writer Sam Farmer and Mark Thompson, formerly of the Mark and Brian morning radio show, hosted a video discussion earlier today to talk about the game and the season. Mark and Sam plan to host similar events on Mondays and Fridays throughout the NFL season. Stay tuned.
The wait is over. Regular season football officially returns tonight as the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants faceoff and begin to write the next chapter of their storied rivalry. Although the New York Giants (and virtually every other NFL team) has outdueled the underachieving Cowboys lately, this is one matchup that still gets the people going. America’s Team versus the reigning Super Bowl Champions. Who will take round 1 of this heavyweight battle? Also, don’t forget to tune into the NFL Kickoff pre-game show featuring Mariah Carey and No Doubt. Broadcasting live from New York City’s Rockefeller Center at 7:30PM/ET, the performances will air on NBC, NFL Network, and NFL Mobile via Verizon. (If you’re into that sorta thing.) The game will follow at 8:30PM/ET.
Tomorrow is a good day because tomorrow, my dear friends, Eli Manning starts his quest for his third Super Bowl Ring. Three. Just like Tom Brady. Go New York Giants!
At halftime, the New York Giants should honor Wes Welker for his Super Bowl heroics.
Coming in next at number 4 on my top preseason NFL teams countdown is the: - San Francisco 49ers - The 49ers make my number 4 spot entering this 2012 NFL season mainly due to their defense. In what was the best ranked defense in the league last year, the 49ers, under new coach Jim Harbaugh, used bruising strength and toughness to an NFC Championship Game berth last year, where, if not for a few turnovers on special teams, very well could have represented the NFC in the Super Bowl. Last year was a special season though for the 49ers, culminating with a playoff shootout win over the New Orleans Saints at home that was one of the more dramatic games of last season. Under first year Head Coach Harbaugh, the 49ers were able to dominate on defense and were able to finally utilize top overall pick Alex Smith at quarterback to his full ability. What Harbaugh did to turn around Smith by simply keeping his confidence up saying he was the guy was simply incredible. The entire fiery presence of Harbaugh, most known f ...

Interesting question, which one would you choose? On one hand, Eli's younger, and already one up on Super Bowl victories, two to one. On the other, there's never been a quarterback who's meant more to his team than Peyton was to his Indianapolis Colts. As if it's not a tough enough question anyway. It's even more complicated by the fact that this spring the Colts ended up dumping Peyton in favor of Andrew Luck, fresh out of Stanford and eager to play. But all seems good for Peyton Manning. He's eager to start playing for the Denver Broncos. And Eli, a quarterback for the New York Giants, who won his second Super Bowl trophy just a year ago. Two great players. Two good choices. Who is your favorite? Which one would you choose? I'll keep track, so let's get started. Eli or Peyton, what's your two cents? Your sports consultant and equal-opportunity- provider. Sports and madness, all that jazz. Dan Mountain
The New York Giants and Forever Collectibles have teamed up and are giving away 80,000+ “Super Bowl XLVI Ch4mpions” scarves to everyone at Metlife Stadium for the season opener against the Cowboys.
Since 1925, the New York Giants have been the standard bearers for the National Football League. Their record speaks for itself: 22 division titles and 8 World Championships including four Super Bowl victories and a all time record of 669-555-33
Super Bowl match up for 2012- Payton Manning and his Denver Broncos against Eli Manning and the New York Giants. Now that would be intriguing.
Running the bootleg play in the 1959 World Championship, the only one ever played in Baltimore's Memorial Stadium, Unitas scored a touchdown in a fourth quarter rally that saw the Colts win their second consecutive title with a 31-16 win over the Giants. Eleven years later, Unitas would lead Baltimore to its first Super Bowl win over the Cowboys. It would be thirty years later when Baltimore (this time as the Ravens) would make it back to the Super Bow with a win over these same New York Giants. Baltimore lays claim to five NFL Championships ('58, '59, '68, '70, '00) four of these, World Championships, and eight conference/divisional titles ('58, '59, '64, '68, '70, '75, '76, '77, '00) in a span of forty two years (1958-2000). -Drew Nickell, 25 August 2012.
Jason Campbell threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Joe Anderson with 8:22 to play and the Chicago Bears rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit against the New York Giants' second-team defense to beat the Super Bowl Champions 20-17 in a preseason game Friday night.

Which team out of the six has the best chance of winning the Super Bowl? a) New Orleans Saints b) Green Bay Packers c) New England Patriots d) New York Giants e) San Francisco Niners f) Pittsburgh Steelers I know the Seattle people won't pick the Steelers because they are STILL crying about Super Bowl 40. I will have to go with the Niners.

"In 2011 the deadly combo of Muzz/Lucci took down the Titanium Power Championship. The bullseye will be on them all year as the rest of us try to take the title. Also in 2011 the New York Giants led by Eli "easy-e" Manning cruised to their 2nd Super Bowl win in the last 4 years. The surprise player of the year in my humble opinion was by far Victor Cruz... who came out of no where did his salsa dance all over Tony Romo and Tom Brady's *** nuts."
Tom Coughlin didn't take long to dig into the New York Giants. The coach called out the defending Super Bowl Champions for what he saw as a mistake-riddled effort in their preseason opener.
New York Giants @ Jacksonville Jaguars! Eli picking up right where he left off in the Super Bowl!
Ok, really Seattle Seahawks really.signing Terrell Owens to a 1 year contract! Heck, he got kicked off an indoor football league team. How big of red flags do you need?! The Seahawks have always played all for one and one for all...not all for me, like TO does. I guess my New York Giants will have to take home another Super Bowl.

Victor Cruz, 80, WR, New York Giants - He won a Super Bowl, broke the Giants' single-season receiving yards mark, launched a clothing line and wrote a best seller. He'll try to prove it wasn't a fluke. Vlad Ducasse, 62, OL, New York Jets - The former second-round pick is still trying to earn a starting job as he enters his third season in the NFL. Wow! Now that Maryland Racing Commission has adjusted Secretariat's 1973 Preakness winning time from 1:55 to 1:53, we can all declare he was simply the best to ever look through a bridle. Now, if The Washington Redskins would please go back and take a close look at Sonny Jurgensen. You see, Sonny was 4-1 as a starter on the 1972 team that was defeated 14-7 by Miami Dolphins in Super Bowl 7. However, his picture wasn't included in team photo. We can only wonder what might have happened if number 9 had been under center on that January afternoon. So please right a wrong, and include the Hall of Fame quarterback. Two pictures were taken of team that year, and it was due to severed achilles tendon that Jurgensen suffered against the New York Giants at Yankee Stadium. Otherwise, Sonny would've been locked and loaded.
