"If Kermit was Jim, who, then, is Steve?" Get ready for the new Muppets' show by meeting Steve Whitmire.
yeah I like orth but Steve needs to venture out and start a black QB before he realizes and transfers out
I've always like Steve Whitmire's version of Kermit, but MUPPETS MOST WANTED was the first time he felt like Jim's Kermit.
.Right! Steve Whitmire is finally getting to play the same character Jim Henson used to play, instead of a corporate logo.
Plus, do you really think that the likes of Steve Whitmire would take part if the show wasn't worth his time?
Splendid profile of Steve Whitmire, Kermit for 25 years(!)

Jim Henson portrayed Kermit the Frog for 35 years. When he died in 1990, Steve Whitmire immediately took over. He should retire before 2025.
Right, Steve Whitmire and Eric Jacobsen don't sound quite like Henson/Oz, but they've been doing it long enough that it works.
We're so excited for this Saturday's Southeastern Sustainable Livestock conference! Our very own Steve Whitmire...
I've been watching the Muppet's since I was a kid & didn't know Jim Henson & Steve Whitmire is the voice behind Kermit the Frog. 🐸
Directed by James Bobin. With Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell, Tina Fey, Steve Whitmire. While on a grand world tour, The Muppets find themselves wrapped into an European jewel-heist caper headed by a Kermit the Frog look-alike and his dastardly sidekick.
Steve Whitmire and Disney get this key thing wrong: that Henson’s Kermit was defined by exasperation and rage.
Lots of Happy Birthday wishes for Jim Henson today. The man shaped a lot of my childhood. He had help. Happy Birthday to Steve Whitmire too!
Kermit the Frog is puppeteer Jim Henson's most famous Muppet creation, first introduced in 1955. He is the protagonist of many Muppet projects, most notably on The Muppet Show, and Sesame Street, as well as movies, specials, and public service announcements throughout the years. Henson originally performed Kermit until his death in May 1990; Steve Whitmire has performed Kermit since that time. He was voiced by Frank Welker in Muppet Babies and occasionally in other animation projects. Kermit performed the hit single "The Rainbow Connection" in 1979 for The Muppet Movie, the first feature-length film featuring Henson's Muppets. The song reached No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. Kermit's iconic look and voice have been recognizable worldwide since, and in 2006, the character was credited as the author of Before You Leap: A Frog's Eye View of Life's Greatest Lessons, which is an "autobiography" told from the perspective of the character himself. The earliest trace of Kermit first appeared in 1955 on WRC-TV's ...

Check out this great song posted by Muppet Wiki featuring Frank Oz, Steve Whitmire, Dave Goelz, Caroll Spinney...
Ok, here goes.. About to watch The Muppets, without Jim Henson or Frank Oz and apparently Steve Whitmire, performer of Kermit wasn't a fan.
Biggest irony in the world: Some of the most prominent "Muppeteers" in the world, meaning the people who performed as the Muppets under tables and crouching under the scenes, were all very tall people. Guys like Steve Whitmire, Frank Oz and even the late great Jim Henson himself, were all 6' 2" and up.
It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights, it's time meet the Muppets on the Muppet Movie tonight! I finally watched the new Muppet movie, and I have to say it was one of the best Muppet films in a long time. It lives up to the very first one and in my opinion even surpasses it. I haven't enjoyed a Muppet film since "The Muppet Christmas Carol," but now I can add this one to this list. Jason Segel's involvement was a huge success, I even liked Amy Adams in this, which surprised even myself. It goes without saying that I think Steve Whitmire, Dave Goelz, Bill Barretta, David Rudman,Matt Vogel, Peter Linz, and Eric Jacobson all did a fantastic job with the puppeteering work. My only three complains were the inclusion of a song by the "villain," it wasn't the fact that they had a song, it was the type of song that I disliked. Also, with ALL do respect to Eric Jacobson, the lack of Frank Oz on this kind of set it back a notch in greatness, it just isn't the same with out him (same for Jim H ...
