Ahhh! Steve Burton is leaving General Hospital! But he will be working with James Franco now.
Say goodbye to Stone Cold. It’s been rumored for a while, but now Steve Burton has confirmed he is leaving “General Hospital” as Jason Morgan. In an interview with TV Guide Magazine, Burton said his last tape date will be September 25 (subject to change due to storyline) and that he will air through October, November the latest. His exit is the actor’s decision as he is moving his family to Tennessee. While Burton declared he would never “close the door to ‘GH,’” he would also like to explore other avenues as an actor and producer. One of those avenues is a project with former “General Hospital” executive producer Jill Farren Phelps and James Franco, who played Stone Cold’s tormentor Franco. Though he couldn’t talk too much about the project, it involves a telenovela the three are collaborating on. What do you think about Burton leaving the show? How said I just heard that Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) from GH quit after 21 years. He is 42 now. He is going to be working with James Franco. I will miss him but wish him the best.
