Rats. I neglected to add a photo to my comments on JACK THE Giant Slayer. So here's several. In them, you'll see Nicholas Hoult, Elinor Tomlinson (the princess), Ian McShane (the king), Stanley Tucci (the villain) and Ewan McGregor (back-up hero).
excellent film. Paul Bettany, Stanley Tucci, Demi Moore all very good
Things picked up somewhat as March kicked off with the release of Bryan Singer's fantasy epic Jack the Giant Slayer (New Line/WB), starring Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci, Ewan McGregor and newcomer Eleanor Tomlinson, and though it didn't have much competition, allowing it to gross $28 million over the weekend, that might be seen as a disappointment compared to its reported $200 million budget. t opened on Friday with a modest $7.7 million but it got a nice bump on Saturday showing that despite its PG-13 rating, it was able to bring in a family audience. It grossed $3.4 million of its weekend gross from its 317 IMAX sites.       The hit comedy Identity Thief (Universal) dropped back down to second place for the second time, bringing in $9.7 million over the weekend to become the first 2013 movie to cross the $100 million mark with $107.4 million since opening in early February.       The R-rated coming-of-age comedy 21 and Over (Relativity Media), directed by the writers of The Hangover, ...
Just got back from seeing "Jack, The Giant Slayer" with my daughter, Katie. LOVED JT! Theater was about half full with watchers of all ages. Continuing a tradition...Saw the original "Jack the Giant Killer" at a Saturday matinee when it first came out...: This one started with a similar premise..."farm boy saves princess"...but then became a variation of "Jack and the Beanstalk". Ewan McGregor was perfect in his role as the captain of the guards...Nicholas Hault (also of the current "Warm Bodies" zombie love story) did a nice job as Jack...Eleainor Tomlinson made a great princess...Stanley Tucci has the villain thing down pat...and even Ian McShane, while not as regal an actor as say...Sean Connery...still managed to be a mostly convincing aging king. The cgi was beleivable, and the battle scenes were excellant... Good stuff. This one will go in the family library when it becomes available

because everything Woody Harrelson does is okay. Same with Stanley Tucci. Casting them is the films only redemption.
Directed by Bryan Singer. With Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci, Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy. The ancient war between humans and a race of giants is reignited when Jack, a young farmhand fighting for a kingdom and the love of a princess, opens a gateway between the two worlds.
Stanley Tucci talks Francis Lawrence and Catching Fire with Collider; appears on Jimmy Kimmel Live:
Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Saoirse Ronan, Stanley Tucci and Susan Sarandon. What a great cast The Lovely Bones has!
As a film and TV nerd delighted/intrigued to watch Simon (Mentalist) Baker going toe to toe with Kevin Spacey, Stanley Tucci, Jeremy Irons etc in Wall Street thriller/satire Margin Call
Stanley Tucci and Meryl Streep are so good in this film
Jack the Giant Slayer was great, gotta love Ewan McGregor rocking the David Tennent hair, the giant that looked like a Cabbage Patch doll, Stanley Tucci makes any movie better, Bill Nighy, Nicholas Hoult, he is starting to be one of my favorite actors, and of course, Willow. I approve.
Before I start. No. Jack the Giant Slayer is NOT as good as The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. But it doesn't mean that it isn't a top notch adventure. The only problem is that no one will ever see it. I can already sense the film ready to bomb. Nicholas Hoult and Eleanor Tomlinson make good leads and Stanley Tucci makes a great villain. The giants are positively repulsive in the best possible way, and the 3D is some of the best used in a while. The pacing is very good and brisk as well, creating a sense of constant adventure. Bryan Singer has created a magical world that should be experienced in 3D. Jack the Giant Slayer slays. Jack the Giant Slayer: An IMAX 3D Experience: 4.5/5
Margin Call. Powerful film. Excellent performances from and Stanley Tucci. 👌RT
Jack the Bean Counter Jack The Giant Slayer-PG-13 *** So you’ve got a Metrosexual lead, Jack (Nicholas Hoult) who, in close-up with Eleanor Tomlinson as Princess Rebecca, looks like her sister or twin brother, and a cast of villains and heroes so dastardly and a special effects budget so vast that this cannot be a failure. If it’s a bit over the top, what isn’t these days? You’ve got exploding beanstalks, a head giant who has a Mini-Me attached to his left shoulder, various incredible makeup jobs as giants, a plot so British that it might have been entered as a special offering at the recent Jubilee, crowns, floods, battle with such exotic weapons as assault-style crossbows, flying burning trees and an epic tug o’ war over a burning moat—what more do you need? Maybe some acting ability from Hoult and Tomlinson? Forget about it. Why bother when you have a peculiarly dwarfish Ian McShane as the good king, The Unrecognizables: Ewan McGregor as the stalwart Elmont, Stanley Tucci as the villainous ...
Finally finished the movie "The Terminal" on HBO starring Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Barry Shabaka Henley, Zoe Saldana, Kumar Pallana, Chi McBride, Diego Luna and Stanley Tucci directed by Steven Spielberg. Good movie. Worth a watch if you want to see something heartwarming.
If they coordinated their haircuts and facial hair styling, would anyone be able to tell Mandy Patinkin and Stanley Tucci apart?
I don't know. Stanley Tucci was only in the first one, so it has a strong place in my heart.
Jack the Giant Slayer - movie review by Dan Grade: D+ I was hoping *Jack the Giant Slayer* would be more than just a kids movie. Nicholas Hoult - Jack - and Eleanor Tomlinson - Isabelle - are promising young actors and are backed up by the amazing talents of Ewan McGregor and Stanley Tucci. While the cast delivered decent performances the story was heavy handed and didn't have anything that would be appealing to adults. I'd like to say that it will at least appeal to young children but I'm not altogether certain of that either. There wasn't a single memorably funny moment in the movie and the action was pedantic. I thought there would be lots of wild 3D antics - even though I didn't see it in 3D because I have to take notes - but I didn't notice any action scenes that would be much improved by 3D other than the beanstalk growing. If you have kids who really want to see it then try and talk them into waiting for the DVD. I'm pretty sure you'll thank me for that.
Have loved Stanley Tucci since Big Night. He's just amazing. Thanks for an amazing interview.
Oof. Probably JACK because I just really like seeing Ewan McGregor and Stanley Tucci in anything.

Okay just googled it. Stanley Tucci has won a bunch of awards but never an Oscar. Nominated but never won. This really upsets me.
Re: Stanley Tucci; one of my favorite roles of his was Adolf Eichmann in "Conspiracy". Very underrated film, IMO.
The beanstalk has been eliminated from the title of this version of Jack and the adventure that happens when he brings home magic beans, and we have to wait a *** of a long time to see it. When padding out a children's fairy tale to become an epic, CGI-heavy film, you've got to add some story in there somehow, and in its opening act Jack slides painfully from animated recreation of the giant legends to meet-cute between our hero and heroine to the political instability of a kingdom that doesn't exist.   Even when the beanstalk erupts, and Jack (dewy and engaging Nicholas Hoult) joins a rescue party to rescue the pretty princess (Eleanor Tomlinson) who's trapped atop it, director Bryan Singer can't quite wrap his arms around this wily revisionist fairy tale. Only when those titular giants emerge, miraculous creations of motion-capture and imagination, do Jack the movie and Jack the person seem to find their purpose, spinning a children's film with surprising violence and even more goofy ...
IS BATTLE READY and JACK THE Giant Slayer with Robbie Hobbs and Wren Schmidt at The Regal IMAX... The film was way better than expected but it doesn't look like it is going to catch on. There were only a handful of folks. The movie has elements of THE PRINCESS BRIDE and STAR WARS, in that its fun and whimsical with the importance of passing stories from generation to generation and action packed. Little kids maybe afraid of the giants and there is a lot of eating-humans, pigs and sheep alike. Nicholas Hoult, Ewan MacGregor( having fun unlike STAR WARS),Iam Macshane, Stanley Tucci and Bill Nighy are all invested even though most are acting with green screens or just vocal work. I liked it and had a good time experiencing the story, the visuals on a big screen. It is not necessary to see it in 3D IMO but hurry because OZ and a rainbow is just a week away!
I will never see Stanley Tucci as anyone else but the rapist from The Lovely Bones. im sorry hes such a creep and he scares me so much bruh

wow. I didn't know Stanley Tucci was on the Hunger Games.
FOOD, FAMILY, LOVE: Excellent theme for 2 Excellent Films “Eat, Drink, Man, Woman” (1994) “Tortilla Soup” (2001) Imagine you’re a lifelong Master Chef, and you’ve lost your senses of smell and taste. The opening sequences of both these films will have you salivating, depending upon which cuisine you prefer; Chinese or Mexican. Actually, all the cooking sequences are total 'killer'. The stories, on both counts, will hold your attention, albeit “Tortilla Soup” doesn’t require subtitles. Not necessarily appropriate for little ‘uns as there are sex scenes in both films. However, both films are worthy of your time. Food, Family, Love. If you ain’t seen ‘em .. rent ‘em. It’s a good time. When I get re-employed, I’ll stop being a film critic.
At St. Barnabas we're doing a 3 film series for Lent. Our first film is next Tuesday, March 5, at 7:00 PM., 1280 Vine St. Denver. The film is Big Night – 107 Min. R (language) 1996 It stars Tony Shalhoub, Stanley Tucci, Marc Anthony, Minnie Driver, Isabella Rossellini & Ian Holm. Here is the description from IMDb: Primo and Secondo are two brothers who have emigrated from Italy to open an Italian restaurant in America. Primo (Shalhoub) is the irascible and gifted chef, brilliant in his culinary genius, but determined not to squander his talent on making the routine dishes that customers expect. Secondo (Tucci) is the smooth front-man, trying to keep the restaurant financially afloat, despite few patrons other than a poor artist who pays with his paintings. The owner of the nearby Pascal's restaurant, enormously successful (despite its mediocre fare), offers a solution - he will call his friend, Louis Prima, a big-time jazz musician, to play a special benefit at their restaurant. Primo begins to prepare ...
I can't decide if I need to rush to the theater for Jack the Giant Slayer this weekend. The giants look CGI bad but I enjoy Nicholas Hoult, Ewan McGregor and Stanley Tucci.

Sneak Preview Movie Review ... Jack The Giant Slayer... Staring the new hot actor Nicholas Hoult..you will remember he played "R"( in Warm Bodies) ..the zombie who killed zombies... Here he Plays Jack of Jack and the Beanstalk Fairy tale fame and he kills Giants...Look out Bella I hope his next movie is R the Vampire Slayer..("it could Happen...")...JTGS is an action fairy tale, it had some humorous moments...and overall a very entertaining flick...I viewed it in 3D but 2D would be just as good...I enjoyed it I give it an A minus
Sorry to say I saw JACK THE Giant Slayer last night. Lotta not very good CGI. A few enjoyable moments courtesy of Stanley Tucci and Ewan McGregor's pompadour provided some larfs but it's sad to think that Bryan Singer, who started off with the brilliant THE USUAL SUSPECTS, has come to this puerile state.

Stanley Tucci is just amazing in everything.
Jack the Giant Slayer By Justin Chang 'Jack the Giant Slayer' FILM REVIEW Fee-fi-fo-fum, this fairy-tale retread is pretty dumb. Feeding the recent appetite for revisionist screen fantasies ("Snow White and the Huntsman," "Mirror Mirror," "Once Upon a Time"), "Jack the Giant Slayer" feels, unsurprisingly, like an attempt to cash in on a trend, recycling storybook characters, situations and battle sequences to mechanical and wearyingly predictable effect. A disappointment coming from the usually more distinctive Bryan Singer, the Warners release will struggle to score the mammoth returns needed to recoup its not-inconsiderable budget, with an indifferent 3D conversion unlikely to offset f/x fatigue even among the youngish audience being targeted. A rushed and unattractively animated prologue lays out the film's underlying mythology, involving a race of giants who have spent centuries vowing revenge on the humans who banished them to Gantua, their kingdom in the clouds. But that's little more than a fondly ...
Favorite actor Stanley Tucci so I have to see Jack the Giant Slayer !!
Movie Review: Jack the Giant Slayer 5/5 Stars This was an awesome movie. I’ve seen Warm Bodies so it took me a minute to accept Nicholas Hoult as Jack. (I kept expecting him to go for someone’s brains…) It is rated PG-13 – load up the kidlets and take them to see it. The graphics were great even down to the swirl pattern (finger/toe print) on the toes of the giants. If you’ve read the story as a child, you already know the plot of the movie but there’s still enough element of surprise and artistic license to leave you on the edge of your seat excited to see how the story turns out. Lots of action, humor and fun in this movie. Eleanor Tomlinson made a wonderful princess. Stanley Tucci was perfect as Roderick. In short, whomever did the casting for this movie certainly knew what they were doing. I may actually PAY to go back and see this again! Two headed giant – wait, the little head on the two headed giant – stole the show! Absolute must see.
I have the perfect marketing strategy for the Hunger Games and Kindle. Offer a free Kindle version of the Hunger Games with every purchase of the Kindle Fire. Then the commercials. Have Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman on stage saying "and now ladies and gentlemen, the Kindle Fire!" And have it on a podium under a satin sheet that gets pulled away and the crowd goes wild. I'd buy a Kindle Fire. No I wouldn't.
The lovey bones is one of the most disturbing movies ever. My stomach is in knots
Ildris Elba and Richard Curtis had the pleasure of meeting me today. Undoubtedly the highlights of their careers
so apparently theres a reboot of the classic Hasbro board game, Clue, which was made into a film in 1985 starring Tim Curry, Madeline Khan, Martin Mull, Leslie Ann Warren, etc; i assume it's currently in the works... but me being the movie nerd that I am, i thought i'd conduct a personal list of actors/actresses of who I think would be a possible suit for each character, starting w/: Colonel Mustard: Thomas Haden Church, Jack Nicholson, or Christopher Walken Mrs. Peacock: Betty White, Ellen Barkin, or Jane Seymour Prof. Plum: Steve Carrell, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, or Seth MacFarlane Ms. White: Emily Blunt, Jennifer Hudson, or Kristen Wiig Mr. Green: Tyler Perry, Ken Jeong, or Stanley Tucci (or Ricky Gervais) Ms. Scarlet: Emma Stone, Kerry Washington, or Jamie Chung what do you guys think? lol
"Rounders" is on one of Cinemax channels--now I know where Gretchen Mol came from...she's great in it, as are Matt Damon, Stanley Tucci, Ed Norton, Famke Janssen.
Two of the last three plays I saw contained male nudity. And here's the thing--in both cases I couldn't stop looking at the actor's junk. Totally not a sexual thing (not that there's etc, etc) but my eyes followed the package like a black lab following a tennis ball. I guess I was just projecting--thinking, "Dude, if that were me, my stuff would be so on that "fight or flight" reflex thing that you'd need the Hubble telescope to see even a HINT of an organ.
Stanley Tucci is amazing and perfect and king of all and if you disagree then you're wrong
I had a dream where I went to a therapist about a dream I had in the dream. I ran there across campus, very fast compared to my surroundings but my body was in slow motion, passing a few aimlessly wondering zombies as I went. I know. I met the therapist in his office, nice guy, apparently he had been an old primary teacher of mine and was glad to see me, he looked like Stanley Tucci. He showed me a book he said Id remember, a thick picture book pinned to a notice board. It was 'reaching for stars' or something theme like that, I didnt get a good look at it. He mentioned that he could hear the two guys outside taunting and stirring me as I came in. I asked If they knew he could hear them, "probably not" he said with a shrug. He told me he would stay far away from the psychotropic therapy approach, "wouldnt touch it with a ten-foot-pole". But ushered me forward and whispered something in my ear. But I couldnt hear it because someone had started to vacume very loudly down the hall. Whats interesting to me i ...

Stick with me on this... For the Batman reboot, can it be Stanley Tucci as Mr. Freeze, Paul Giamatti as The Ventriloquist, with Charlie Sheen as Bruce Wayne, but Hugh Jackman as Batman... But both are voiced by Kevin Conroy?

Sounds like we are in for a few more days of rain. The TV news just reported rain predicted until at least Sunday. Hopr no one had outdoor plans... meanwhile, I am doing something that I have fun doing--reading little-known facts about well-known people. For instance: Barbara Hale (Della Street in Perry Mason of TV viewing YEARS ago) is married to Bill Williams (Kit Carson of old TV fame) and their son is William Katt, who played the Greatest American Hero--also an old series (which would be popular nowadays with all the Avenger-type movies etc.) Also Ving Rhames changed his first name to "Ving" from Irving (not a catchy name at all) and it was suggested by his roommate Stanley Tucci (one of my favorite actors) who really SHOULD have changed his name, too--Stanley not being a very macho-type name. Okay--so i'm easily amused---but who knows when those little tidbits might be needed in a conversation or to win on Jeopardy or something.. :)
something you should know.. Stanley Tucci (dionysus & Caesar Flickerman) main di Jack Giant Slayer bareng mantannya Jen

It's really easy to like "Easy A" (7.5/10) and Emma Stone :) The birth of a new star! Also very nice to see a pretty impressive list of "adults" too (Stanley Tucci, Patricia Clarkson, Thomas Haden Church, Lisa Kudrow and Malcolm McDowell). A high school movie that's actually pretty good. What a rarity!
I must've had my eyes shut last time I watched Captain America because I didn't notice Sebastian Stan, Stanley Tucci or Jenna-Louise Coleman
First scene of "Triumph" is penned, but I don't know who I'd want for the lead yet. Stanley Tucci's a bit old..maybe Ben Foster? Aaron Paul?
