(28) Vasek Pospisil reached the Third round -- as his ranking dictated he should -- but unfortunately an injury forced him to pull out of his first round doubles match, as well as his Third round match v. (8) Stan Wawrinka. Oddly in enough, it was also v Wawrinka that Pospisil withdrew from the final at 5 - 5 in the 2nd set, in Auckland, NZ. (11) Milos Raonic reached the Third round -- as last year, so he will lose no ranking points -- and had an open road to the quarterfinal as (5) Del Potro had been taken out earlier, but he could not capitalize on it, losing to (22) Dimitrov. (30) Eugenie Bouchard has been playing superbly well, and as been benefiting from some good luck. (7) Errani -- who would have been Genie's natural Third Round match up -- lost in the first round. Then the day before yesterday, (14) Ana Ivanovic defeated (1) Serena Williams -- who was have been Genie's natural Quarter final match up. Should Genie win, her natural sem . ...
