Roger Federer has the same number of Major titles as Rafa Nadal, Andy Murray, Del Potro and Stan Wawrinka combined!
A Swiss won the Australian Open; not Roger Federer but Stan Wawrinka. An Asian woman, Li Na from China won the Women! Congrats!
Just watched the absolute BEST Grand Slam tennis final in many years, with Nadal injured after the Stanimal, Stan Wawrinka, playing brillliantly, took the first set and was up a break in the second. But there's nothing more dangerous than a wounded bear. Nadal, unable to move and barely able to serve, somehow took the 3rd set! The fourth set was an emotional roller coaster for both players, and me, yelling at the TV, *** it, drop shot him, Stan ... move him side to side . bring him in with that hurt back and lob to make him hit an darn overhead!" The announcers started wondering the same. But Stan was able to close it out 6-3 in the fourth, becoming a Grand Slam winner and making some history by taking out the top two seeds, becoming in the world, and passing countryman Roger Federer as the Swiss player. Congrats to the Stanimal!!

Rohit at Australian Open: Wawrinka a changed man in search of a miracle Sports | Updated today at 03:47 PM By Rohit Brijnath In Melbourne Persist. Sweat. Evolve. Reinvent. If four words define an Open, these might qualify. Here, in a Melbourne January, was further proof that talent cannot stand still, risk must be taken and second chances do exist. Li Na, 31, altered her grip on her serve and her thinking on court. Stan Wawrinka, 28, has laced his game with a sterner aggression and looks a refreshed player. Roger Federer, 32, has healed his body and courted the net and looks relatively sharper. Ana Ivanovic discovered a newer version of self-belief and Dominka Cibulkova has re-found her finest self five years after a French Open semi-final. Change for the athlete, who is a creature of faithful routine, requires faith and warrants courage. Often the technique they use and style they adopt has worked well enough. Yet risk lies at the heart of greatness. Li explained this perfectly when she said, after years ...
Caught the replay from last nights’ semifinals….what a performance by Rafa Nadal in his victory over Roger Federer! With the quicker conditions and strong form that Roger showed in his wins over Tsonga and Murray, he was hoping to make it a chance for another Grand Slam final however Rafa just couldn’t be denied. Rafa was stronger in all parts of the game and kept Roger pinned to the baseline with heavy ground strokes making it tough for him to attack. Could be an interesting final - Rafa, going for his 14th Grand Slam title to tie Pete Sampras for Grand Slam titles, has never lost to Stan Wawrinka (12-0). And even though it’s the first Grand Slam final for Stan, he’s had an incredible 15 months, playing with a lot of confidence and looks much more in control out there…who knows maybe is his lucky number.
Even if Stan Wawrinka becomes Swiss player on Monday, he said he will always be behind Roger Federer. "Roger is the best", says Wawrinka. We completely agree, Stan!

Rafa Trash Talk Rafa is so polite and deferential in his interviews and never fails to call Roger Federer the best tennis player ever while pounding him on the court every time. Rafa Nadal doesn’t trash talk but what if he did Interviewer: You have a great rivalry with Roger ... Rafa: What rivalry? I kick his *** every time Interviewer: I mean, you have had some great matches in the past Rafa: Yes in the past when I was still a teenager he got me a couple of times and then I started beating him at Roland Garros and he would say he would get me on other surfaces. Then I got him on his supposedly favorite surface grass and then on hard courts. I have beaten him on all surfaces including one that was half grass half clay. Interviewer: Federer says he has had great matches with you Rafa: That RF. I don’t know how many times he wants to get beaten. He should retire. He should stop talking about being my rival. I will beat him every time on any surface, indoor or outdoor, in Europe or America, with one bad ...
Congratulations to my all time favorite tennis player, Rafael Nadal for trashing Roger Federer to set himself against Stan Wawrinka. Nadal will be vying for his 14th Grand Slam title. Best of luck, Nadal.

Wow Stan Wawrinka is the new number 1 Swiss player over Roger Federer. That just blew my mind
Australian Open 2014: Day Eleven Diminika Cibulkova? What? I don’t think anyone was guessing that Radwanska would experience such a complete let-down and lose so easliy. Congratulations are in order for Cibulkova. She is playing great tennis and is in her first Grand Slam final. Wow! Go Little One! Did anyone catch Radwanska covering the camera lens with her towel as she excited the court? I believe that you can tell who a person really is by how they handle adversity. Ms. Radwanska handles it like a Crabby Moo. Before Tennis Announcers go on air, they should all agree on the pronunciation of difficult names, like Dominika Cibulkova’s. Martina Navratilova says, “Si-buhl-kova,” while Tracy Austin says, “See-bull-kova.” Which is it? Cliff Drysdale said that Aga Radwanska’s game is, “sweet, gentle and interesting.” Was he talking about her game or her personality? Why did Stan Wawrinka get to play his semi-final a full day before Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer? He gets more rest ti ...

Draw Done for Shanghai Rolex Masters: The Rolex Boutique and in particular the “Rolex Experience” on the historic Bund was the venue for the draw for the 2013 Shanghai Rolex Masters and it was an event that attracted some very special guests. The man who all others are compared to in tennis, the great legend Rod Laver was in attendance. He was joined on stage by the very popular Jo Wilfried Tsonga and by China’s No.1 Zhang (George) Ze. Then, at the very end, just as the draw was completed, appearing in front of the Rolex Crown logo Roger Federer appeared through the shadows. Stan Wawrinka says that Roger Federer will find a way to come back.
What a finale! Again they saved the best for last in Melbourne where its now 2 AM. NOVAK'S DONE IT! And how. Djokovic with an impossible dipping cross-court pass on the backhand wing, wins at last 12-10 on his third match point in the fifth set. Djokovic rips his shirt from his rippling torso, while Stan Wawrinka, not surprisingly, is close to tears as he trudges from the court amidst a standing ovation. Cramping legs, past exhaustion. That was emotional. They'll be buzzing about this incredible match for days to come. The two time defending champion is into his 15th straight Grand Slam quarter-final, which surpasses Ivan Lendl and puts him third on the all-time list behind Roger Federer (34) and Jimmy Connors (27). Djokovic faces Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic next. Can Novak become the first man in the modern era to win 3 Australian Opens in a row?
Roger Federer beats Mardy Fish in straight sets and will face compatriot Stan Wawrinka in the Cincy Open semis.
