Marin set for Serie A Chelsea midfielder Marko Marin is said to be locked in talks with Fiorentina as he closes in on a move to the Italian club. Marin is free to leave Stamford Bridge as he does not figure in the plans of Blues boss Jose Mourinho this season, and a switch to Serie A looks to be on the cards. The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with Spanish side Sevilla and came off the bench during their Europa League final victory against Benfica. However they did not pursue a permanent deal and Marin has spent the summer searching for another club as he looks to get his career back on track. Fiorentina appear to be that club, with reports in Italy claiming that talks between the two parties are at an 'advanced stage', and Marin now just needs to pass a medical.
Marko Marin to join Southampton? J Southampton's new manager Ronald Koeman is considering an approach for Chelsea's unwanted winger Marko Marin. The player, who spent last season on loan in Spain at Sevilla, has been told by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho that he has no future at Stamford Bridge and is free to leave. Two unnamed German sides are believed to have made contact regarding Marin already. Despite the interest from his homeland, Marin is said to be also considering a move to another English club. Southampton are expected to be busy rebuilding their squad this summer and Adam Lallana is rumoured to have already told the club that he wants to join either Liverpool or Tottenham. Should Lallana leave St Mary's, Marin offers a possible replacement.
Of the 30 players Chelseahad out on loan this term, we pick four who could feature in the first team in 2014-15. At one stage this past season, Chelsea had over 30 players out on loan. The list included notable names such as Victor Moses, Marko Marin, Christian Atsu and Patrick van Aanholt. Michael Emenalo, who is the club’s technical director, is in charge of selecting where these players go and decide whether they are capable of breaking into the first team. With so many players out on loan, it is difficult to judge who could play for Chelsea regularly, and who is destined to leave the club without making an impression at Stamford Bridge. Moreover, with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play policy controlling the spending of big clubs in Europe, many of these players could be an important source of income as they could be offloaded permanently. Below, we have picked four players who have the calibre to break into Jose Mourinho’s team next season and have also marked them based on their performances this camp ...
Marin wants permanent leave from Chelsea The German who has been on loan at Sevilla all season wants to make the deal permanent Marko Marin has enjoyed a successful season with the Spanish side despite injury set-backs and was part of Sevilla's Europa League triumph on Wednesday. Marin is just one of many talents who were brought to Stamford Bridge following their Champions League victory of 2012 and has been loaned out to various places as a result of the difficulty players will have, getting a place in Mourinho's team. A Chelsea return is unlikely for Marin given the vast number of attacking players at Mourinho's disposal which the Portuguese bought himself. So for this reason Marin is keen to secure a permanent move away from West London. The 25 year-old said: "Seville want to keep me, they want to buy me outright. “Now I can only wait and see what will happen, will depend on what will decide Chelsea.” Marin is yet to make a major impact for his side as he has 18 league appearnaces under his belt, ...
Best in the business can get it wrong & sometimes its a blessing in disguise for the players sent off on loan. Case in point, Jose's Chelsea & players flourishing on loan. Courtois has impressed in his third consecutive season on loan at Atletico Madrid, helping the Spaniards to the May 24 Champions League final at the expense of his parent club, and could put pressure on Petr Cech as Chelsea number one. Lukaku spent a second straight season on loan in the Premier League, scoring 17 goals for Everton - a tally greater than any of the strikers who remained at Stamford Bridge. Others will also be looked at closely by Mourinho, including Victor Moses, who spent the season at Liverpool, and Marko Marin, who helped Sevilla to win the Europa League.

Farewell to four Blues Chelsea said goodbye to four players this week when the contracts of Paulo Ferreira, Florent Malouda, Ross Turnbull and Yossi Benayoun expired. Popular veteran Ferreira spent nine years with the Blues, after joining the club as a European champion from Porto in 2004. More silverware soon followed for the Portuguese full-back, winning the first of his three Premier League titles in his debut season. Malouda also claimed his fair share of medals during six years at Stamford Bridge, with his finest campaign arguably coming in 2009/10, when he helped us win our first domestic Double and was voted as Chelsea Players' Player of the Year. Goalkeeper Turnbull spent most of his time as Petr Cech's deputy, playing 19 games and being named on the bench for our successful Champions League and Europa League finals. Israeli international Benayoun's three years as a Blue were hindered by injury, but he returned from loan to make several appearances in the second half of last season. Marko Marin, T ...
Top Ten Worst Chelsea Signings Of the Roman Abramovich Era 10- Scott Parker (22, Charlton Athletic, £10 million) Parker was one of 14 players that Roman Abramovich signed during his first year as Chelsea owner. While at Charlton Athletic, Parker was one of the most highly rated young players in the Premier League and moved to Stamford Bridge with high hopes that playing for a top club would propel him to the next level. However, his stay at Chelsea didn’t go quite to plan and he struggled to break into the Blues first team. When he did get opportunities to play in the first team, he was often played out of position and never really got a chance to shine at the Stamford Bridge. Parker was sold to Newcastle United in July 2005 for £6.5 million and showed just how good he was during his time on Tyneside and at his next clubs West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur. 9- Marko Marin (23, Werder Bremen, £7 million) Marin was brought in to give Chelsea width last summer and was one of German footballs star you ...
Sports Update: Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu looks likely to return to Spain this summer, according to various reports in Spain. Both sports dailies AS and Marca claim he will move to Seville, however the 21-year-old is linked with the city’s rival teams. Marca suggests it is Real Betis who will sign the former Barcelona youth-teamer, AS expects him to be used by Jose Mourinho as part-exchange for Sevilla’s French midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, who is believed to be high on the Chelsea manager’s wish-list. And with a deal already struck between the Londoners and Sevilla for the loan of Marko Marin, the Ramón Sanchéz Pizjúan may well be Romeu’s more likely destination. The defensive midfielder enjoyed a good run in Chelsea’s first-team under Andre Villas Boas, representing the Blues on 22 occasions during his first six months at Stamford Bridge. But changes in the dugout and a torn cruciate knee ligament, which has kept him on the sidelines since early December, meant that the Spaniard was li ...
Chelsea prepared to loan out Oriol Romeu in bid to land Geoffrey Kondogbia Chelsea are hoping to use their new relationship with Sevilla to win the race for midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia. As Standard Sport revealed last week, Chelsea's pursuit of Vitesse Arnhem star Marco van Ginkel has stalled and it appears their priorities have switched to sign Kondogbia instead. The 20-year-old impressed playing as a defensive midfielder in La Liga last season and it is a position where Chelsea want to strengthen. He is also wanted by Real Madrid and Arsenal, but Chelsea have already begun forming a close bond with Sevilla by agreeing to send Marko Marin on loan to them next season. Significantly, the Blues are now prepared to allow Oriol Romeu, who plays in Kondogbia’s position at Stamford Bridge, to also move to the Spanish club in a loan deal for the upcoming campaign in the hope of securing the transfer. Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido said on Friday that he had already rejected a verbal offer of £7.7m fr ...
Chelsea have signed Germany international forward Andre Schurrle from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of £18m. Schurrle, who becomes manager Jose Mourinho's first signing since returning to the club, has signed a five-year deal. "It is an honour for me to play for this club, with this team and for these great fans," Schurrle said. The 22-year-old scored 11 goals in 34 league games for Leverkusen in 2012-13. Those performances helped the club finish in the third and final automatic Champions League qualifying place in the Bundesliga. Schurrle, who is comfortable playing on the wing or in a central striking role, has also impressed for Germany - scoring seven goals in 24 appearances - and was included in their Euro 2012 squad. He joins up with compatriot Marko Marin, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Werder Bremen in July 2012 but made just 12 appearances in his debut season. Leverkusen rejected a bid from Chelsea for Schurrle last summer, and the German club revealed renewed interest from the B ...
De Bruyne to stay at Chelsea The agent of Kevin De Bruyne, Patrick De Koster, has revealed the Belgium international will stay at Chelsea and fight for a place in Jose Mourinho’s first-team next season, Sky Sports understands. De Bruyne, 21, joined Chelsea from Jupiler Pro League side K.R.C. Genk for a transfer fee of £6.7 million in January 2012 but has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Blues. The 21-year-old ace enjoyed a fantastic 2012/13 campaign on loan at Werder Bremen, tallying 10 goals and nine assists in 33 league appearances. De Bruyne has decided to stay at Stamford Bridge next season despite the Blues’ embarrassment of riches in attack, which consists of Andre Schürrle, Demba Ba, Eden Hazard, Fernando Torres, Juan Mata, Lucas Piazon, Marko Marin, Oscar, Romelu Lukaku and Victor Moses. “Mr. Mourinho gave a phone call to Kevin, explaining a little bit the situation for next season,” said De Koster. “We didn’t receive any guarantees, but it’s normal in a team like Chelse ...
Sources have stated that Liverpool should consider looking at 24 year old Chelsea midfielder Marko Marin. The German midfielder who signed for the blues last season for £7 million, has struggled to make his way into the first team, and with players like Oscar, Ramires, Mata, Hazard, Lampard and Moses, it seems as though he may never make an impact at Stamford Bridge. The youngster was branded as one of Bundesligas top talents, and succeeded in proving this with former club Werder Bremen. But since his transfer last summer, he has made only 6 starts, and has yet to play a full 90 minutes. Having played only 144 minutes of English football, he did manage to score a goal and grab an assist. It is obvious the talent is there, and with just over a handful of Premier League starts, he is yet to prove his worth and because of this, his value has dropped since. This is where Liverpool come in. With his value at only £5 million, he could be a real bargain. Chelsea have no use for him at all, so offloading the Ge ...
Chelsea’s Marko Marin has been a peripheral figure at Stamford Bridge since his arrival from Werder Bremen last summer. The Serbian-born German International was regarded as one of the Bundesliga’s finest young talents only a season ago but since his £7 million move to West London he has made just 6 league appearances for the Blues all season. It’s not surprise that he managed just one goal and one assist in those 6 appearances, of which only 4 were starts and none were for a full 90 minutes. He’s played just 144 minutes of Premier League football in his debut season in England despite remaining fit and available for the duration. It’s a sad state of affairs for the 24-year-old who just 12 months ago was hailed as one of the best talent in the Bundesliga. He had become a regular and key first-team player for Werder Bremen in the last three seasons in Germany and had held a similar record of appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach prior to that. In 2010/11 with Werder Bremen he made an incredib ...
German winger Marko Marin has admitted that his future will be determined by the next manager to arrive at Stamford Bridge. That manager is to be Jose Mourinho, who has reportedly agreed to return to Chelsea in principle but no formal announcement will be made until after June 1st. The 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact since he signed for the West London club and has only made 15 appearances, scoring one goal, this season. Marin told Goal: "It is difficult to talk about the next season because nothing is official with the new manager. We will have to wait on the new manager and then I'll talk to him." But he wouldn't be drawn into speaking about Mourinho specifically: "I don't like to talk about things that maybe happen but I only know things about him from the players who played under him. "They were all happy with him and they will be happy if he comes." His signing was announced in the spring of 2012 when it looked as though Chelsea would miss out on qualifying for a Champions League spot the ...

Marko Marin likely to start tonight's Europa League game at Stamford Bridge
Summary of the game yesterday The Blues will have to overturn a 1-0 deficit at Stamford Bridge next week if we are to progress into the Europa League quarter-finals after a Raul Rusescu penalty proved the difference between the two sides at the National Arena. Steaua dominated the first half in terms of possession, and they were rewarded in the 33 rd minute when Ryan Bertrand conceded a penalty for a foul on Rusescu as they challenged for an aerial ball. Rusescu dispatched the kick to put the hosts in front, and while we improved after the break, and went close on a couple of occasions through Eden Hazard and Marko Marin , we were unable to levelthe game and score what would have been a crucial away goal. It will take a big performance in front of our own supporters to swing the tie back in our favour, but having turned around bigger deficits in the past, the players will feel confident of overcoming the Romanian side in West London. Immediate attention now turns towards Sunday's FA Cup sixth round tie aw ...
Chelsea are reportedly set to bring Borussia Dortmund striker Marco Reus to Stamford Bridge. Do you want to see him at CHELSEA?
Steaua Bucharest will take a lead to Stamford Bridge after Raul Rusescu's first-half penalty gave the Romanian side a slender 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the Europa League. Ryan Bertrand's clumsy challenge on Rusescu gave the referee no choice but to point to the spot - and Rusescu drilled the spot-kick under Petr Cech. Chelsea improved after the second half introduction of Juan Mata, with Eden Hazard and Marko Marin each going close late on. Click link to read full story...

The Blues leave Czech Republic with a satisfying scoreline to take back to Stamford Bridge thanks to a fantastic Oscar goal
Chelsea triumphed 1-0 over Sparta Prague in the Europa League last night. It was Brazilian substitute Oscar who scored the goal, just a minute after coming on, giving Chelsea a 1-0 advantage to take to Stamford Bridge. Here are the key statistics to interest Chelsea fans from the game: * Fernando Torres had more shots on goal than any player on the pitch, with 7. Three of those were on target, but none of them found the back of the net. * Eden Hazard provided the assist for Oscar's goal; his 18th of the season for Chelsea. (10 Premier League, 3 Champions League, 2 League Cup, 2 FA Cup, 1 World Club Cup, 1 Europa League) * Juan Mata's 92 per cent pass completion accuracy was the highest of any midfielder on the pitch. * Mata provided an astonishing five key passes - leading to goalscoring opportunities - for his teammates. * Ramires and Marko Marin were fouled more times than any other Chelsea Players (three times each). * Keen to get stuck in, Ramires made more tackles than any Chelsea player, with five. ...
Rafa Benitez, Frank Lampard and Marko Marin spoke to Chelsea TV after the 4-1 win against Wigan at Stamford Bridge.
Cesar Azpilicueta has taken time to settle in at Chelsea but the Spain defender affectionately known as 'Dave' by the fans is beginning to make a name for himself at Stamford Bridge. Azpilicueta, who joined the club from Marseille for a fee of £7mill in August, produced his best display for the European champions as they brushed aside Wigan 4-1 in the EPL on Saturday. Azpilicueta was similarly industrious against Wigan, popping up with last-ditch interventions in his own penalty box, launching attacks with his speed down the right and delivering inch-perfect crosses. His name may be a bit of a tongue twister for the Chelsea supporters, hence the choice of nickname, but the 23-year-old is showing a growing authority in every game he plays at right back. The fast-raiding Azpilicueta laid on two of the goals on Saturday, the second for Eden Hazard and the final one in stoppage time by Germany midfielder Marko Marin. Chelsea's attention now turns to the Europa League last - 32 first leg at Sparta Prague on Thursday ...
Late strikes ease Chelsea past Wigan AFP Sunday, February 10, 2013 - 17:55 Football - Premier League Premier League, Stamford Bridge – Chelsea 4 (Ramires 23, Hazard 56, Lampard 87, Marin 90+2) Wigan 1 (Maloney 58) Chelsea held their nerve to bag under-pressure manager Rafa Benitez a crucial 4-1 win over Wigan at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League. Having built themselves into a good position after Ramires rounded off a slick move midway through the first half, and Eden Hazard added a second, panic once again threatened to set in. Shaun Maloney immediately hit back after rounding Petr Cech and finishing from out wide, and Wigan went out in pursuit of an equaliser. They had their moments, but an 87th-minute strike from Frank Lampard, drilled low beyond Ali Al-Habsi, finally settled the contest, and substitute Marko Marin nodded in a rebound in injury time to add further gloss to the scoreline. The score was unflattering to the Latics, but it might have been still worse had it not been for a brilliant d ...
EPL- MATCH REPORT: Chelsea 4-1 Wigan: Chelsea laboured to an ultimately convincing win over relegation-threatened Wigan at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, being eased over the line by a trademark Frank Lampard strike to claim the three points and move back ahead of Tottenham into third place. A livelier Fernando Torres, who replaced Demba Ba in the starting XI, showed good awareness to play Ramires in on goal for Chelsea's opener, before Eden Hazard displayed a cool head to drill the Blues into a two-goal lead following enterprising build-up by Cesar Azpilicueta. A poorly timed offside trap - Gary Cahill the culprit - allowed Shaun Maloney to scamper through and finish beyond Petr Cech but Rafa Benitez's team rallied and finished the job courtesy of Lampard and a late Marko Marin header.
MATCH REPORT: CHELSEA 4 Wigan Athletic 1 Posted on: Sat 09 Feb 2013 Summary A run of four games without a win came to an end at Stamford Bridge. It was a victory which keeps us third in the Barclays Premier League table. Ramires had given us the lead with his sixth goal of the season midway through the first half, finishing well after excellent build-up play between David Luiz and Fernando Torres, and the fact Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi had been their best player before the break spoke volumes. Eden Hazard doubled our lead shortly after the restart, converting from a Cesar Azpilicueta cross, but two minutes later the away side were back in it as Shaun Maloney pounced on a loose ball and rounded Cech to score. Frank Lampard's 12th goal of the season, however, coupled with an injury-time header by substitute Marko Marin, sealed the victory for the Blues

Brentford 2-2 Chelsea: Chelsea never deserved to win. Chelsea will take Brentford back to Stamford Bridge for a replay after this one finished 2-2 with Chelsea going behind TWICE in the game. Goals from Oscar and Fernando Torres saved Chelsea's blushes in this one but it's still not good enough. With a strong side named to start (Turnbull, Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry(c), Cole, Ramires, Lampard, Bertrand, Oscar, Marin and Torres) and in my view our strongest back four, you would expect Chelsea to get hold of the ball, pass it around and create plenty of chances. In the first half it never happened and to be fair it was all Brentford. Chelsea had plenty of possession but did little with it to be honest and hardly threatened the Brentford goal. At the other end, Brentford were lively and created at least three or four half chances. They pressed and pushed high up against us and made life difficult which is what you should expect playing at lower league side on their own ground and we couldn't get to grips with i ...
Ba made d difference, challenging for an 83rd-minute ball that fell to Torres, who instinctively curled it into the top corner from 18 yards. Marko Marin was utterly lost in d geim, which med him hauled off and Mata tasked with orchestrating a comeback. Hopefully, Chelsea will kill d geim @ Stamford Bridge in replay.
FA Cup: Marcello Trotta, Brentford v Chelsea fought back twice from a goal down to earn a 2-2 draw against Brentford , taking the fourth round FA Cup tie to a replay at Stamford Bridge. Brentford enjoyed the better of the first half and deservedly went ahead through Marcelo Trotta after he turned home the reboundafter Harry Forrester's initial effort was saved, but a goal shortly after half-time from Oscar brought the visitors back on terms. However, just when Chelsea were on top, Turnbull inexplicably brought down Tom Adeyemi in the area allowing Forrester to convert the spot-kick and put the Bees in front, but a curled effort from Fernando Torres rescued theBlues late on. Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez named a strong side including thelikes of John Terry, Frank Lampard,Ramires and Torres, with Marko Marin and Turnbull handed rare starts. Brentford boss Uwe Rosler placed his faith in the striking duo of Clayton Donaldson and young forward Forrester in the hope of forcing a cup upset. The hosts settled into ...
Fernando Torres struck a late equaliser to spare Chelsea the embarrassment of being knocked out of the FA Cup by League One Brentford at Griffin Park.       The £50m Spain striker equalised seven minutes from time as Brentford threatened to heap even more misery on Chelsea and interim manager Rafael Benitez after their midweek Capital One Cup semi-final elimination against Swansea City.   Brentford, third in the third tier of English football, were the better side for long spells in this fourth round tie and twice held the lead through Marcello Trotta's first-half goal and Harry Forrester's penalty 17 minutes from time. With Chelsea on the brink of an ignominious exit and Benitez facing increasing hostility from the travelling supporters packed at one end of Griffin Park, Torres curled in a superb finish to give the Premier League side the relief of a replay.   Brentford's fans gave their side a standing ovation after an outstanding effort that earns them a lucrative replay at Stamford Bridge - but ...
Marko Marin : we needs a wins in Stamford Bridge tomorrow ! Thanks for your goal ! Oscar , Torres !
Out-of-favour Chelsea playmaker Marko Marin could leave Stamford Bridge on loan this month, according to his agent. Manchester United’s move for Wilfried Zaha could be probed by the Football League. Arsene Wenger has conceded that Arsenal have missed a ‘fantastic’ chance to win the Premier League this season. Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas was reportedly present at Celtic’s 4-0 win over Dundee United last night to run the rule over striker Gary Hooper. Mario Balotelli looks to be on his way out of Manchester City this month – after his house was put for rent. Gerard Pique’s pop star wife Shakira has given birth to the couple’s first child, Milan.
Chelsea 4-0 Arsenal today at Stamford Bridge, I Love my Blues I can wait & see all mine young guyz, Mata, Hazard, Demba Ba, Torres, Marko Marin, Luiz, John, Cahill, Invanvic, A. Cole, Moses, plus Peter Chec I wishes you thousands of successes.
Well, maybe we should be playing our games away from Stamford Bridge since some plastic fans like Wall-e Olarewaju will never give Benitez the atmosphere to operate. He called us plastic-flag carrying fans when he was coaching Liverpool, I guess he is right. The results show everything - excellent results away from home, poor results at home.
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres may well have hit a new low on Wednesday night. He was the surprise starter in the Blues' Capital One Cup semifinal first leg at Stamford Bridge, but another inept performance contributed to a now two-goal deficit for Rafa Benitez's side to overcome in South Wales. A shrug of the shoulders here, a pulled face there. The Spaniard's body language told the whole story, and the deafening applause for Demba Ba's (frankly late) arrival gave us the fan's feeling in a nutshell. Is there any way back for Torres? Simply put, he is a bad fit at Chelsea. If he wasn't a bad fit before, then the summer of 2012 certainly pushed him over the edge. The Blues loaded up on attacking midfield talent as Roman Abramovich chased the tiki-taka dream, recruiting Eden Hazard, Oscar, Marko Marin and Victor Moses to place alongside Juan Mata. The resulting hybrid of "Mazacar" proceeded to play some absolutely scintillating football across the advanced midfield line, but lacked a genuine target in the ...
Ba is expected to be played this weekend London-Rafael Benitez started doing the custom rotate skuatnya in the middle of a dense schedule. He also hoped to transfer Demba Ba completed immediately for the purposes of a team in the FA Cup this weekend. 0-1 defeat of Queens Park Rangers at Stamford Bridge, Thursday (3/1) qualifier had been criticized for making Benitez fielded an unusual squad especially in their line of attack. Oscar Victor Moses and Marko Marin played together as well as keep Juan Mata and Eden Hazard on the bench. Cited that decision to make Chelsea play in the bottom of the form and eventually lost. However, Benitez said if what it does for the sake of keeping the physical players where they had just been through the month of December. Moreover, the lapse of two days after The Blues must match away to St. Mary's to fight against Southampton in the FA Cup third round. It looks like Benitez will rotate again the team and especially in the front-line after Fernando Torres Chelsea striker so ...

It was a happy New Year for Queens Park Rangers at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, with the Premier League's bottom club stunning capital rivals Chelsea 1-0. Shaun Wright-Phillips ensured Harry Redknapp's side made the best possible start to 2013, with the ex-Chelsea winger returning to haunt his former employers with a stinging drive which moved QPR level on points with Reading and five adrift of safety. Marko Marin, making his first start for Chelsea, was extremely lucky to escape a fourth-minute red card from referee Lee Mason after driving into the shin of Stephane Mbia with a one-footed, studs-first challenge. QPR then suffered a setback when Junior Hoilett limped off in the 16th minute with what appeared to be a hamstring problem, resulting in Wright-Phillips' arrival from the bench. The visitors rarely escaped their own half during the opening period, but defended resolutely with skipper Clint Hill nodding clear a curling shot from Oscar. Chelsea then lost their way in the 10 minutes before half-time ...

Bayer Leverkusen are showing interest in Chelsea winger Marko Marin. The Germany player is keen to go out on loan after a disappointing debut season at Stamford Bridge which has been dogged by injury.
Luciano Becchio's first-half strike briefly threatened an upset for the hosts but goals after the break from Juan Mata, Branislav Ivanovic, Victor Moses, Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres wrapped up a convincing win for the Blues. Victory gives Rafa Benitez's chances of bringing silverware back to Stamford Bridge a timely boost, having already presided over exits from the Champions League and Club World Cup. Much was expected of the first meeting between these two historic rivals in over eight years but events on the pitch only served to show the gulf which has emerged between them. Benitez shuffled his pack after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Corinthians, handing Marko Marin and Ryan Bertrand rare starts and recalling Oscar. Neil Warnock, meanwhile, made three changes to the side which defeated Ipswich Town 2-0 on Saturday, with Jamie Ashdown, Jason Pearce and Michael Brown replacing Paddy Kenny, Alan Tate and David Norris. Leeds attacked with conviction from the start but it was Chelsea who conjured the first ...
Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez has suggested Marko Marin will feature in his plans at Stamford Bridge -
In football, the playing season goes from August until May, but the transfer rumor season never shuts down. Especially for the big-name clubs. Chelsea and Russian billionaire owner Roman Abramovich went on a major spending spree over the summer transfer market, but it’s obvious to most Blues fans that the club is still a little thin in some positions. With Petr Cech signed to a four-year contract and Thibaut Courtois waiting in the wings and out on loan at Atlético Madrid, getting another goalkeeper is certainly not a concern right now over at Stamford Bridge. And with Juan Mata, the club’s new centerpiece, and young signees like Eden Hazard, Marko Marin, Oscar and Victor Moses all now on board, the central attacking midfield does not seem like an area of concern in the upcoming winter transfer market window. But on defense, the central midfield and in attack, Chelsea does seem to need to try and add a body or two for depth. Some players are rumored to be on their way out, and injury concerns, like t ...
Chelsea midfielder Marko Marin could be allowed to leave this January, as the German International grows increasingly frustrated with a lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge. The winger has so far failed to dislodge the likes of Eden Hazard and Oscar in the Blues' first team.
As Chelsea’s first summer signing, Marko Marin agreed terms to move from German club Werder Bremen to Stamford Bridge on the 28th of April for the bargain price of ₤7 Million. In the four weeks th...
[Football 23-year-old Chelsea winger Marko Marin could be leaving Stamford Bridge for a return to Borussia Monchengladbach.
Sorry to friends if I hurt you guys feelings yesterday~ I was so emotional about Chelsea FC drawing with Swansea City fc.. But know this, I do not like to make fun of, especially by Manchester United fans, coz they only bark when they win, and they always win a controversial win, suited by the name Mancheater United~ We lost the top spot to them, but enjoy it while it last, coz it won't be long until we triumphed into the in the league again~ Roberto Di Matteo did a tactical change which is disadvantage in my opinion yesterday, whereby instead of subbing Fernando Torres., he subbed Moses, thus losing the possession of midfield. Torres didn't deserved to start the game, yet playing 90 mins. Marko Marin was not used in the bench, and Juan Mata was sorely missed, since there is no creativity from the midfield. Without the golden three, Oscar, and Eden Hazard was struggling to break the defence, ended up getting substituted in the end. Chelsea will meet Shakhtar Donetsk and Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge, ne ...
If we don't play Marko Marin and Victor Moses tomorrow I'm going to People's Elbow RDM in the middle of Stamford Bridge
Di Matteo was facing the press ahead of Sunday's encounter with Manchester United, and conceded that Lampard will miss the game at Stamford Bridge. The England midfielder aggravated the pre-existing injury in Tuesday's 2-1 Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk and will miss the return leg, in addition to the United clash. Di Matteo told reporters: "He is going to be out for a few weeks. He's got a calf problem, so we will miss him and it's a big loss for us. "Apart from him everybody else is fit. Marko Marin might be in the squad for Sunday." The 34-year-old had already been forced to sit out England's World Cup Qualifiers against San Marino and Poland in a bid to recover quickly from the injury, but only lasted 15 minutes against Shakhtar in the Ukraine before being withdrawn. Lampard has played in seven Premier League matches this season, scoring three goals so far.
helsea cruised into the Capital One Cup fourth round with a straightforward home win against Championship Wolves. In a dazzling blitz of our opposition, goals from Gary Cahill, Ryan Bertrand and Juan Mata had put us three goals to the good inside 20 minutes, and with the game already well beyond the lacklustre visitors, an Oriol Romeu penalty and headers from Fernando Torres and Victor Moses put the gloss on a terrific night's entertainment at Stamford Bridge. Cahill had nodded us in front on three minutes before Bertrand smashed home from inside the box just moments later, Mata supplying a well-crafted third on 16 minutes. Wolves only rarely threatened and it was no surprise when the goals continue to flow in the second half, first when Moses was brought down by the away goalkeeper, allowing Romeu to strike his first Chelsea goal and then when Torres headed home Mata's corner before Moses took the chance to score his first in a Chelsea shirt too. So it is on to the fourth round, the draw for which will b ...

Do you think Di Matteo has made the right call in bringing Marko Marin to Stamford Bridge?
Chelsea v. Newcastle Preview (Sky Sports) Roberto Di Matteo and Eden HazardChelsea host Newcastle United in the Saturday evening kick-off looking to make it a perfect three wins on the bounce in this season's Premier League. Roberto Di Matteo's early league leaders followed up their 2-0 away win at Wigan on Sunday with a pulsating 4-2 home victory over new boys Reading on Wednesday. The Blues had to come from behind to beat Brian McDermott's side and Di Matteo will be looking for his team to tighten up at the back, especially against top strikers Papiss Cisse and Demba Ba. Cisse notched a brace - including his curling wonder-goal - as the Magpies downed the Blues 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in May last season. And Ba - who is hoping to be fit from a sore shin - showed his own goalscoring prowess with the opener as Alan Pardew's side beat Former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas' new team Tottenham 2-1 last weekend to get their season off to a winning start. Emirates Stadium side plot Stamford Bridge raid. Arsenal are reportedly considering a late move to sign Chelsea attacker Florent Malouda as Arsene Wenger considers ways to add strength in depth to his Gunners squad before the transfer window closes next week. The Arsenal manager has been linked with interest in the French international on many occasions and sees the veteran winger as a player who can offer experience on the flanks and the 32 year old may well be tempted by a chance to move to join a number of international team-mates at the North London club. Florent Malouda is in his sixth season at Stamford Bridge but is set to be something of a bit-part player at the West London club and though he would only be offered a one year contract, as it standard practice when Arsene Wenger is bringing in players over 30 years of age, the French Guiana born flair player may feel it a good opportunity to consider. Wenger may feel that a senior presence could help to pass on their ‘know-how’ to youngsters lik ...

Barca dreams give Chelsea identity crisis 2 hours ago LONDON (AFP) - When Roberto Di Matteo screamed “We won it” at Roman Abramovich as Chelsea started their Champions League celebrations, the Blues manager can’t have realised he was signalling the end of an era at Stamford Bridge. Just over three months after Chelsea’s rollercoaster season reached a memorable peak with the miracle in Munich, much has already changed at the West London club. Chelsea new boys score in win Di Matteo was impressed by Hazard New Chelsea signings Marko Marin and Eden Hazard were among the scorers as the Blues beat MLS side Seattle Sounders 4-2 to kick off their pre-season tour of America. Young Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku led the line impressively at CenturyLink Field and opened the scoring for Roberto Di Matteo’s side in the third minute following a pass from Josh McEachran. £32million man Hazard doubled the Stamford Bridge club’s lead with a deflected effort in the 10th minute and the Londoners looked to be cruising. However, the Sounders were soon level thanks to a smart finish by Colombian striker Fredy Montero in the 13th minute, following a misplaced McEachran pass, and again just after the half hour. Marin was on hand to restore Chelsea’s lead in the 39th minute, though there was more than an element of fortune in it as his wayward shot took a massive deflection. Lukaku rounded the ‘keeper just before half time to complete his brace and a very en ...

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who bankrolled the club's first summer signing in Marko Marin, was at Stamford Bridge to watch Roberto Di Matteo's latest attempt to convince the Russian to give him the manager's job full-time.
