Mary (Hebrew: מִרְיָם, Miriam; Aramaic: Maryām; Arabic:مريم, Maryam), variously called Saint Mary, Mother Mary, the Virgin Mary, the Theotokos, the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mary, Mother of God, and, in Islam, as Maryam, mother of Isa, was a Jewish woman of Nazareth in Galilee who lived in the late 1st century BC and early 1st century AD, and is considered by Christians to be the first proselyte to Christianity. 4.0/5

St Patrick's new R.C Church was opened and blessed yesterday morning by Archbishop Duhig in tho presence of a very large congregation, including a number of visitors The new structure, which is built of brick, and is a very fine church was built to replace the edifice that was destroyed by fire last year The Rev. M Mastereon (Nanango) celebrated Mass. Father M. Jordan (Nun dah) preached an eloquent sermon and other clergymen present were Monsignors D Fouhy (Toowoomba) and J Byrne (Ipswich) St Mary's (Ipswich) Church choir, with Mr C. T. Hegarty (conductor), were also present. After the ceremony luncheon was served, at which the Rev P. Fouhy presided. The toasts included "The Pope, " The King ' ' The Archbishop and Clergy". Some of our Caritas students from the school will reading at Vigil Mass in St Lawrence's and St Patrick's this evening, and at 12 o'clock Mass at St Mary's on Sunday for the start of Catholic Education Week.

Sun Bears won over the Lightning and will play in the championship at 5:00 tomorrow. Both games will be at Highland Park Baptist Church. Cubs and Bruins will be in action at St Patrick. Bear Cubs at St Therese. Bears and Panthers at AIE. Come out and cheer us on to victory.
