I think all great cultures have drinking holidays. Irish have St Patrick's Day, Mexicans have Cinco de Mayo day and Filipinos have Saturday.
The distinction is that St Patrick's day is a holiday in Ireland whereas Cinco de Mayo isn't a holiday in Mexico.
It's National Guacamole Day to celebrate Mexican Independence Day. You thought it was Cinco De Mayo? Nope, that was invented in the United States by the restaurant industry. Many, many places in Seattle make great Guacamole. It's also Half-Way to St Patrick's Day, so have some Irish Coffee for breakfast. Lesser Seattle reminds you that it's Stay Away From Seattle Day so if you don't live here, go home. It's also Wife Appreciation Day, so appreciate an under-appreciated wife. Doesn't have to be your own. On a more sombre note it's Trail of Tears Commemoration Day in the First Nations communities. They definitely aren't celebrating Mayflower Day today.
