Southern Division & Las Vegas

The Southern Division is one of four divisions of the Arena Football League. It's also one of two divisions within the American Conference , although they have been part of the National Conference from 1995 through 2008. The Southern Division has been marked for its entire existence as being the most brutal and competitive division in the AFL. Las Vegas is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Nevada and the county seat of Clark County. 1.3/5

IN THE NEWS (ENGLISH AND SPANISH) OC Pateadores fall 3-2 against Las Vegas Stallions on Week 11 of NPSL competition The OC Pateadores fell 3-2 against the Las Vegas Stallions, dropping to 4th place and to 7 points away from the leader of the NPSL West-Southern Division. The game was held at Piggot Memorial Stadium in Las Vegas, home to the Stallions under a hot summer’s eve. Now with 3 games to go in the regular season, the defeat was crucial to the Pateadores plan to make the Playoffs as a combination of scores in the division, left them again in 4th place. The Stallions took the lead a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute and never looked back. They went ahead 2-0 in the 65th minute while playing short of one man after an ejection. Pats closed the gap to 2-1 at the 76th minute, but two minutes later, the home team made the game 3-1. Reynolds, lead singer of the legendary soul/pop/rhythm & blues group “The Dramatics” has filed suit in the U.S. District Court/Eastern District, Southern Division of Michigan on a federal trademark infringement claim against Sandra Banks, the alleged widow of Ron Banks who was also a former lead singer of the group. Reynolds’ lawsuit states “almost immediately” after Ron Banks’ death on March 4, 2010, Ms. Banks began to “claim sole ownership of The Dramatics.” In addition, the lawsuit states that Ms. Banks fraudulently obtained a name mark for “The Dramatics” for services and goods from the U.S. Patents and Trademark Office and she has “advertised and/or promoted,” up to ten unknown males (referred to in the suit as “John Doe Defendants”) to perform as “The Dramatics” and/or similar derivative names at various venues throughout the United States, including Las Vegas and California.
