Good luck Fairhope's AAA youth baseball team representing Alabama at World Series championship game today and South Carolina!

Go *** !! From mlb.com Top 10 Outfield Prospects: Jackie Bradley Jr., Red Sox: Part of two College World Series championship teams at South Carolina, Bradley Jr. earned a World Series ring as a rookie with the Red Sox after surprisingly making their Opening Day roster. A superb center fielder, he'll be a defensive upgrade over Jacoby Ellsbury, who left via free agency. Bradley Jr. is also an on-base machine who likely will be better than Ellsbury in that regard, too.
A few days after looking at 10 reasons South Carolina makes it to the College World Series, we look at six reasons the Gamecocks could fall short.

A few late night random thoughts: 1.)Miley and Miles, so much alike when it comes to "moves". Miley likes twerking, Miles quirking. Whether dancing or coaching, their "moves" are always a little unusual. 2.) The obstruction call that ended the third game of the World Series now gives the "Fall Classic" an entirely different meaning! 3.) The Old Ball Coach, Steve Spurrier, kept his cool and wits and led South Carolina to a 27-24 double overtime win over Missouri after being down 17-0 and looking out of it after three quarters. Mizzou thus drops out of the running to be this year's version of last season's Notre Dame---a team with an unblemished record due to schedule good fortune (No Alabama or LSU for Missouri, unless in SEC championship game) and some unusual wins.
two incredible games tonight. Cardinals pulled it off in the bottom of the ninth due to an obstruction call to win game three of the World Series. And South Carolina pulls a huge comeback win in double OT led by Connor Shaw. Crazy to think i played high school basketball against the guy. Well done.
Cardinals are in the World Series . Vols upset South Carolina . Pioneers got a Win Friday . . . I don't even care about you…
Even though South Carolina lost I take solace in the fact that Florida State is kicking the bejesus out of Clemson!! GO NOLES!! Brandi Flynn..im soi happy for ya!! and hopefully my reward is the socks make the World Series!!
Great day for myself as a sports fan. Tennessee got a huge win against South Carolina, now Boston is up 3 runs in the 8th inning and about to go to yet another World Series.
What a great weekend of college baseball. First, the Gamecocks of South Carolina showed their true grit and will try and win the Super Regional over the National No. 1 seed on the road tonight against Tar Heels. Wish the best of luck to the Gamecocks. Then 1991 Citadel graduate Dan McDonnell led his Louisville Cardinals team to a sweep of the No. 2 National Seed at Vanderbilt and have qualified for their second trip to the World Series in school history -- all under our own Danny Mac. And don't forget the invaluable help he gets from his assistant and Citadel classmate Chris Lemonis. Good luck Cards. Now if USC joins the Cards - oh vey, what's a Citadel fan first and USC fan second to do! I'll worry about it when the time comes.
Look for Justice Elsewhere They were two of the best baseball players of the era – maybe of all time. Even though they shared a talent for playing America’s past-time, Joe Jackson and Ty Cobb were as different as night and day. Jackson was a soft-spoken boy from South Carolina who grew up so poor that he rarely wore shoes. Joe Jackson was well-respected within the game because of his gentlemanly behavior. He should have been in the first class inducted into the Hall of Fame. Cobb “the Georgia Peach” was loud and boisterous. He played the game so aggressively that he was hated by teammates as well as opposing players. By his own admission, Ty Cobb was a womanizer, a drunk, and many other bad things. His own children all but disowned him. Fans were stunned when “Shoeless Joe” Jackson was accused of taking a bribe to throw the 1919 World Series and banned from baseball. Somebody had to take the blame, and Joe was unable to defend himself very well. Joe Jackson ended up running a store in Green ...
My name is Kenneth Griswold and I am the manager of the Shoeless Joe Jackson for the Baseball HoF page. Most of you do not know much about me; I hold a BA in History from the University of South Carolina. As many of you probably know, Joe was born in South Carolina. As a result, Joe developed his amazing talents playing as a young teenager, among men, in the mill leagues of the Carolina's. I have researched and written extinsively about Joe, the early Carolina Mill Leagues, and the 1919 World Series. Throughout my years of scholarly plodding, I have had men, many with far more letters to their names than I, scoff at me and the idea that a man, who simply played a "game", was worthy of historical research. It is these ideas that still pervade many attitudes of "elites" in scholarship, as well as sport, to this very day; which is why, we must fight harder and be more resilient than ever in our support to overturn the greatest of all punishments - banishment - which continues to follow a man, nearly 100 year ...
This team had a outfielder named Mookie Wilson. I loved him at South Carolina and hated him in 1986 when he played for the second most hated team. The New York Mets. That World Series was the most painful WS for me.

Both TSU and Vandy should have easy wins tomorrow, with TSU battling a team having a tough season (Tennessee Tech) at the Hole and Vandy's homecoming foe (UMASS) coming in with an 0-7 record. Meanwhile, barring a huge upset, Derek Dooley begins the final games of his UT career at South Carolina. Then in the nightcap, Detroit tries to get back into the Series, facing a must-win situation against the Giants. Teams have rallied from 2-0 and 3-1 many times, but never 3-0 in the World Series.
I wish the Cardinals were headed for the World Series. However, the way they played in the last three games displayed why they are not playing in the World Series. The Tigers will be very difficult to beat. Do some of you "old timers" remember when the Tigers/Cardinals played in the 1968 World Series? I especially recall a cartoon in the St. Louis newspaper showing this large, mean-looking tiger with its mouth open. Inside its mouth was this very, very little cardinal!! (The Tigers won that World Series in 7 games (if I remember correctly.) Denny McClain beat Bob Gibson (I think). I just got back from a 6-day trip to South Carolina. I had never been to SC. The trip was interesting. SC was OK.
Among other things I found while going through one of the last boxes I brought down from Durham: My baby book, which I thought had been accidentally thrown out when we closed my grandparents' house; my mom's christening gown and shoes; my great-grandfather's Phi Beta Kappa certificate from the University of South Carolina; and a picture of my grandfather with Sparky Anderson, who before he became the first person to manage World Series-winning teams in both the NL (Reds, 1975) and AL (Tigers, 1984) was the manager of the Rock Hill Cardinals in about 1965.
North Anaheim All-Stars 18U representing the Western Region at the LL World Series in South Carolina! Proud of them!

Oh yeah, Congratulations to the Arizona Wildcats mens baseball team for knocking off South Carolina in the World Series!! Bear Down Arizona!! They hadn't won since 1986!!
YEAH!!! Josh Pierce way to hang in there for an incredible win!Kent State Golden Flashes..College World Series win keep the good work up! Bring on Arkansas of South Carolina we can do it!!
my Monday picks for the College World Series: Florida eliminates Kent St. and South Carolina defeats Arkansas. Florida bounces back after a disappointing opening loss to South Carolina. Then, can anybody beat South Carolina in Omaha? Well to do so I think it has to come from a team not in the SEC because those teams don't have fond memories against them. South Carolina beats Florida in last year's finals and does the little things to beat a more talented Florida team on Saturday. They are a classic team and program right now on an unbelievable run. Been a fun World Series though
well went 3-1 in picking the winners for the first two days of the College World Series. And the lone loss went 12 innings when Florida State lost to Arizona. It looks like South Carolina and UCLA are on a collision course to meet in the final and a rematch of the 2010 championship series. I got FSU over Stony Brook and UCLA over Arizona tomorrow
At least we will have two move on in the World Series for the SEC Arkansas is playing Kent St. right now leading 5 to 1 in the top of the 7th.!!!Florida and South Carolina play later tonight.!!!
Wo *** ..The College World Series will be under way this Friday.here's the lineup...Stony Brook, UCLA, Arizona, Florida St., Kent State, Arkansas, South Carolina and Florida.Of course my team to cheer for will be Stony Brook as this is their first time ever to come to the College World Series...btw they are from Long Island New York.Omaha will no doubt adopt them too as they usually do all the first timers.I am so excited...love, love, love the College World Series.Omaha we Rock
Lines in for the World Series of Blue Marlin fishing in less than an hour. Good luck to all the South Carolina crews
