This scripture in Hebrews 11 speaks of many of the notables of the Old Testament. This chapter has been narrowed down to speak of the true Moses. Ever planned something for your path of life and one thing just happened to alter your plans? Sometimes you can reach out to help somebody and they will turn on you. Moses had the opportunity to advance but one thing caused him to falter, he made a decision to walk with the Lord. Sometimes God has to get us to see something amazing about Him. Have you ever thought about how God has made a difference in your life to allow you to make some better decisions? Sometimes we have to take off our shoes like God told Moses because we are on holy ground. Sometimes we just have to shake it off and follow God. Not only do we need to watch but we need to wait on our destiny. Sometimes your task isn't to get there yourself bit to get someone else there too. When God shows you how to overcome you can rejoice in knowing he is by your side.

Sometimes God said "NO", sometimes He would say "Yes", and maybe it is a "wait".. There are times when i would ask the Lord to hold the rain and countless times He would answer (like the many times I would be commuting with Jade, which is harder because I would need to hold Jade and at the same time carry an umbrella and a bag...) Today, I asked the Lord to please don't let it rain when it would be time for me to fetch Jade since we would be commuting from school. The driver would only be available to get the bags because of time constrain. Jade was having her make-up test this afternoon. I planned ahead that the driver would get her bags which were so heavy and I would wait for Jade and we will just commute from school. Unlike yesterday, Jade didn't left her other lighter(but still heavy for me) bag and lunch bag at the lobby like she would always do, so I went up to look for her while the driver waited downstairs at the school garage with her trolley bag already. I didn't saw her right away and by the t ...

Sometimes God won't cast your enemies out... Instead! He will make a table before them with an overflowing cup. Then He will say sit eat and drink because I'm greater than all of these things in the world. If you are going through something and you have battled and done everything "right" just stop sit eat and drink because only through Jesus is there victory. We as a body are beginning to learn to sit and relax in the rest of God. Only then is there victory see because in that place of rest you will see the enemy for who He really is and then you will see who God really is. Then you will realize who dwells in you is really greater than those in the world. He sits unaffected on His Throne and we are one with Him. He sits in peace and He has given you the Spirit of Peace, Joy, and self-control. He has given you everything you need to live a life of godliness. Something's moving something's changing. A lot of changes taking place and you wonder now can it be good if you listen to your emotions. Sometimes God moves us out of our comfort zone, don't feel so right at the moment. But he always has a purpose and plan. Certainly a lot of changes in our church, that saddens me, but yet a great move of God and purging. God is speeding up things to accomplish his purpose in each and every one of us. Things that hinder will be removed or restored to his purpose. Tonight I start a second shift that I have never done before and on top of that 10 hours. All I could say is I don't know how I'm going to do it. But Christ said I can do all things through Christ whom strengthens me. I am claiming it will be short lived and God will provide a opening for me on first because Christ said he would give me the desires of my heart. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. —Matthew 18:15 (AMP) When Dave and I got married, I was a nightmare to get along with. I just wanted to stay in control because I thought that was the only way I could keep from being hurt. Plus I have a pretty aggressive personality to begin with, so that combined with a lot of dysfunction in my background did not make me a very nice woman. Dave, on the other hand, is a real peace-lover and very easy to get along with. For a lot of years, he went about being happy and didn’t really say too much to me while I acted badly. I believe God gave him extra patience with me because He knew the hurt I had in my life. Sometimes God calls us to put ...
Sometimes God has to shake his house for his glory (not talking about the house you live in) - Matt Sorger
Good Morning Groovy People! New beginnings begin daily. Growing pains are always a sign of new life, light and liberation. Hold tight to truth and love that is unconditional. Just because there is a bump in the road don't abandon the mission. You must go another route, change a tire or get rid of dead weight. It might be hard but it's apart of life. Sometimes we want to fix everything and its not even broken. Sometimes God wants us to just learn a lesson and receive a blessing. My whole life I've been a giver and it felt amazingly right. My hardest task was learning to receive. I've never had the mentality something for nothing because I've worked really hard to build something from nothing. As a visionary my thoughts and visions manifest in the future, however they manifest. Throughout our journeys we must embrace change, delay and resistance. However if we keep a loving heart, positive mindset and guarded tongue we will make all experiences in life a little sweeter. Love Peace & Groove!
VIA EPISCOPAL CAFE SINK, SWIM, OR WALK ON WATER: THE SELECTION OF THE NEXT PRESIDING BISHOP Debate has commenced in earnest about the election of The Episcopal Church's next Presiding Bishop (e.g., Next Presiding Bishop: caretaker or visionary?). I've even contributed to that conversation. In one sense, the selection of the next Presiding Bishop is so unimportant that the Church could rely on a serendipitous selection. For example, the Nominating Committee might place the name of each eligible and willing bishop on a slip of paper and then draw nine of those names for its slate. The House of Bishops might draw one of those names and then elect that person the next PB with the House of Deputies voting by acclamation to affirm that choice. Although this approach may comply with the letter but not the spirit of the canons, it is certainly biblical (remember the selection in Acts 1:21-26 of Matthias to replace Judas?) and would save upwards of a quarter of million dollars. Sometimes God does work through sere ...
As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise. (Proverbs 27:21 KJV) God just smote my heart with this verse. Its easy to praise God in the good times, but are we praising Him in our bad times. Sometimes God allows us to endure hard times in order for us to be in a position to get help. A surgeon has to cut the flesh in order to repair or bring about help so must God bring on unsavory times in our lives so that we may obtain help. On this day, lets praise God in our bad situations and ask Him to show us what lesson He wants us to learn in this process.

June 24 Psalm 58-65 Today's Devotional Thought: It is the tendency of man to avenge himself. A theme common through the reading is the defense of God for his children. In some instances it is by the protection of a "strong tower." (Ps 61) In another it is the purging of our own transgressions which prevail against us (Ps 65). But the overwhelming focus of the Psalm today is the vengeance of God upon our enemies for wrongs they have committed against us. Sometimes God protects us from wrongdoing, but when it serves his purpose and we are strong enough to handle it, we must endure the wickedness and leave the vengeance to God. As Paul told the Corinthian church it would be better to take the wrong (1 Cor 6:7), and as Jesus taught to turn the other cheek (Mt 5:39) it is better for us to humbly and patiently wait on God to avenge us rather than try to avenge ourselves. For families with more than one child, teaching your children this early will help tremendously.
God's timeline may look different than ours. Be careful saying "I'm going to give this a month and if I'm not successful I quit!" No way Jose'- that's not how things work in God's time. How to Handle Temptation by Joyce Meyer Temptation, or giving in to temptation, has been a serious problem since the beginning of time and is still a very real part of our lives today. Like it or not, we all have to deal with it. Most people may not really understand temptation and its purpose. In Luke 17:1, Jesus said, ...Temptations (snares, traps set to entice to sin) are sure to come. Why do we have to deal with temptation? It strengthens our faith, our spiritual muscles. If we didn't have to stand against temptation, we'd never know our own spiritual strength. Facing temptations will either bring out the best or worst in us. Sometimes God allows us to be tested because He's preparing us for promotion. Facing temptations increases our confidence in our ability to recognize and resist the lies of the enemy. The Many Faces of Temptation Temptation comes in many forms. Too often we think of being tempted as being enticed to do big things like stealing, murdering or committing adultery. But most often we' ...
Man, without James Gandolfini, some of my favorite characters would never have made it to mainstream television. Without Tony Soprano, there is no Dexter Morgan. There is no Gregory House, and there is no Don Draper. Tony Soprano was the original anti-hero; the guy we loved to hate, and hated to love. James Gandolfini was a truly inspirational actor, and it's a crying shame that he will never grace the silver screen again. But hey, as they say... Sometimes God takes away the ones we love most, so he can be with his favorite angels. For the last time: see you later, Tony.
From Wisdom Wisdom Hunters UNANSWERED PRAYERS Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1 Sometimes God is silent, even when His children cry out for answers. The unfair becomes a test of faith that grows the prayer life of those who stay persistent with the Lord. Well since its midnight back home that means its Father's Day. I wanna say happy Father's Day to the most amazing man in the entire world. You may not be my blood but you are my dad. Sometimes God waits a few years to give you a blessing and that's what you are to me. A blessing. You cAme into my life a few years ago and completely changed it. You showed me what it means to have a real dad. Someone who's there no matter what. Someone to wipe away the tears, someone who hugs you, loves you unconditionally, and supports everything you do. At the age of 40, when Moses was cocky and overconfident and tried to free his people himself, he was a big flop and had to run for his life in a personal exodus of his own. It took God 40 years in the wilderness to teach Moses humility and utter dependence on God, until he no longer even wanted the job! It wasn’t until he thought he wasn’t ready or able that he was. Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity. When you come to the end of your rope, then God has a chance to work. Sometimes God has to break us—and it’s not fun being broken. It almost makes you feel like you want to die, but then you’re willing to live for Jesus. Only from such death to self can life be born anew John 12:24-25... Then it is no longer you that live, but Christ that lives in you Galatians 2:20... You are now dead and your life is hid with Christ in God Colossians 3:3... So if you feel incapable or insufficient, cheer up! That’s when God has a chance to take over and do things to suit Himself. Only He can do it anyway ...
Sometimes God uses pain to press the eject button on our comfortable lives. --David Lyons
It's funny how God works in a person's life. I may be ranting or rambling, but here is the deal. Jonah got the tar scared out of him by being in the belly of the fish for 3 days. Abraham was told by God to sacrifice his son. Noah had to build a Ark. Samson had to grow his hair. David killed Goliath. Peter served, and Paul changed. Just taking a look at some of these men from the Bible we see one common factor: Faith. That's what it takes to please God. I know from past experiences that sometimes it's hard to please God. Sometimes God lets you get the tar scared out of you, but that's so you can see that you need Him. Sometimes God takes away everything so you can see He is EVERYTHING. God gives you hard tasks so that he can watch you grow, and so that you can grow. He gives you love, so you can share His. I know it's hard sometimes to think of you future. Maybe you have no job, maybe you have not "significant other" or are afraid that you will be single for the rest of your life. Maybe you have gone throu ...

Letting go. this is for all my inspiring, aspiring, motivated, talented, amazing, loyal, ambitious friends who like me often have trouble letting go of negative people and situations because of our loyalty and strong connections to people. Sometimes God takes people out of our lives. We feel hurt and angry because of our emotional attachments, but if we really looked more closely at the people removed from our lives, we would realize that very often these people are not on our level. While we move upward and forward, they do not support our progression, but rather undermine it, by lacking loyalty, taking and not giving, being unfair, and being generally unmotivated within themselves. We will often find that friendships with these people are not balanced, and that that we tend to give a lot more, focusing on their potential rather than who they really are. You see, potential is just potential, everyone has potential, but it takes courage to go after your dreams. These people, who often masquerade as peop . ...

Sometimes God puts you on your face so you can get back up again and so that you can realize you are absolutely NOTHING without HIM. I have been working to go on this mission trip and I know God wants me there for a purpose and a God given reason. I could of worked harder and people say "Well maybe God's closing the door." Sometimes He does close the door but not when a heart wants it so much. This is my passion and life right here. I have never been and this is my first mission trip. I still need $795.00 by tomorrow. Yes it's a late notice but never too late for God. Please help me out by sponsoring me at least $20. If everyone helped a little then it would make a huge difference. God I give it to you. Help me out for Africa.

Amazin But True, Rare But Deep: ”Sometimes God will delay the result what you see in the future with the person you love just to give you a heads up notice that although you see everything coming close together, its not because of you thinking about everything, but you trusted in him so much that he'll show you because of your intentions of your heart and the willingness of your soul to live up to what and who you promised and committed yourself to. Also he shows you that blessings wont bloom until you accept everything that he is about to test you with and that God will let you know in a minute that even though you might figure out his ways, that still dont put you ahead of God himself”

God and My Pain Have you ever gone through a long stretch of physical pain? Does your body hurt right now? If you do any reading in the Bible, you will notice that you have a lot of company. The men and women that you meet on Scripture's pages share the full measure of the brokenness of human life with you and people of all ages. You will meet people wounded by swords and arrows; people with leprosy and chronic hemorrhaging; people with withered limbs and paralysis, fevers and epilepsy, and broken bones. It's bad enough to suffer pain. Worse is when it's chronic, when it just won't stop. Sometimes God provides quick and miraculous healing. And sometimes he doesn't. Are you waiting for relief right now? "I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning" (Psalm 130:5,6). Here is your hope: Jesus sees your pain. What is God telling you? What is God telling you with the problems He permits in your life? The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you depending on how you respond to them. Unfortunately most people fail to see how God wants to use problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring. Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life: 1. God uses problems to DIRECT you. Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention? "Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways." Proverbs 20:30 (GN) 2. God uses problems to INSPECT you. People are like tea bags. If you want to know what's inside them, just drop them into hot water! Has God ever tested your faith with a problem? What do problems reveal about you? "When you have many kinds of troubles, you ...
When God Speaks Quietly "Speak, Lord. I am your servant and I am listening." 1 Samuel 3:10 NCV Sometimes God speaks loudly and clearly. More often, He speaks in a quiet voice-and if you wise, you will be listening carefully when He does. To do so, you must carve out quiet moments each day to study His Word and sense His direction. Can you quiet yourself long enough to listen to your conscience? Are you attuned to the subtle guidance of your intuition? Are you willing to pray sincerely and then to wait quietly for God's response. Hopefully so. Usually God refrains from sending His messages on stone tablets or city billboards. More often, He communicates in subtler ways. If you sincerely desire to hear His voice, you must listen carefully, and you must do so in the silent corners of your quiet, willing heart. "If you, too, will learn to wait upon God, to get alone with Him, and remain silent so that you can Hear His voice when He is ready to speak to you, what a difference it will make in your lif ...
I ministered at a Women's Brunch this afternoon at New Life Community Church and it was just so awesome. The theme was "When God Says No", and to top it off the Speaker, Carmen Anderson-Harris was amazing. She spoke of when her husband was sick before he passed away, how she asked God to heal him & God told her no, & how she wrestled with God because she could not accept it. When she finally accepted His will, the following day her husband died but she was at peace because she knew it was God's will. Sometimes God says no, yes or wait but whatever the answer is He is still God & He knows what's best for you. God bless!

Today's Devotional - May 23 Just Obey But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them (of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them) because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated. —1 CORINTHIANS 2:14 Many non-Christians don’t really understand the gospel. This isn’t a new thing that is unique to our day. When Paul wrote to the Corinthians, he pointed out that the Greeks thought it was foolish. And to the natural mind, it is. God sent Jesus, the sinless One, to earth for the express purpose of dying for wicked, sinful people. To unbelievers that is foolish. The natural man cannot understand the power of the gospel—it can only be “spiritually discerned.” This is just as true in daily living. Sometimes God speaks to us, and if we try to explain it to p ...

Euthanasia can be a very difficult issue. There are two sides that are difficult to balance. On one end, we do not want to take a person’s life into our own hands and end it prematurely. On the other end, at what point do we simply allow a person to die and take no further action to preserve life? The overriding truth that drives the conclusion that God is opposed to euthanasia is His sovereignty. We know that physical death is inevitable (Psalm 89:48; Hebrews 9:27). However, God alone is sovereign over when and how a person's death occurs. Job testifies in Job 30:23, “I know you will bring me down to death, to the place appointed for all the living.” Ecclesiastes 8:8a declares, “No man has power over the wind to contain it; so no one has power over the day of his death.” God has the final say over death (see also 1 Corinthians 15:26, 54-56; Hebrews 2:9, 14-15; Revelation 21:4). Euthanasia is man's way of trying to usurp that authority from God. Death is a natural occurrence. Sometimes God allow ...
Me: Sometimes God speaks through people you know. God could even speak through you! Lyle: What?! God can hack into my mind and make me say things?
By: Minister James Boyd III This came to me as I was watching a very empowering sermon my Bishop TD Jakes. As he was talking about the different types of people in our lives, and the roles each of them play in our lives, I began thinking of the people I have in my life. Anyone who knows me, knows that the most important people in my life are my friends. However, that only goes for my true best friends. Right now, I admit I do feel somewhat disconnected from most of the people I never thought I'd feel disconnected from. I guess it's like Pastor Joel Osteen says, "Sometimes God will eliminate the old, and bad people out of our lives, only to give us some good new people." I asked this question yesterday on my status and you know the sad thing is, not one person was able to answer it. I have a pretty good idea as far as which of the two categories below each of my friends fit into. I'm only trying to see which role some of them think they're filling. If you're a friend of mine who can't answer this questio ...

MUST READ FOR WORKING spouses who may or may not yet be MOMS AND DADS. I was going through my old notes on management...to sorta re-sharpen my dulling mind. I got my 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE notes and saw the first page... apologies to the author...I can't read the name anymore... let me share excerpts of the article...it's a long one but worth the read. "Let me tell you a crazy story I heard recently. There's this husband who out of sheer love for his wife decided to prove it to her. So he swam the widest oceans, crossed the deepest rivers, and climbed the highest mountains to show his deep devotion to her. But in the end, she divorced him. Why? Because he was never home. (Get it?). I've learned that in truth, we don't want our loved ones to show show their love for us in big ways. Deep in our hearts, we just want them home. With us. Sometimes God will operate that way. Suddenly, He decides not to answer our prayers or fill our need, or heal our sickness, or give us the miracles we're asking . ...
"...it's not over till God says it's over. If your cause is ordained by God, then the battle belongs to the Lord. It's His victory to win, not yours. Sometimes God shows up; sometimes God shows off! God's timing is impeccable isn't it. He's never late. He's never early. God is right on time all the time! I don't believe in coincidences; I believe in providence. I believe there is a God in heaven who directs our steps, who prepares good works in advance, who causes all things to work together for good, who fights our battles for us! And if you pray through, there will be a breakthrough! Don't lose heart. Don't lose hope. Don't lose faith. Don't lose patience. Keep asking. Keep seeking. Keep knocking." - Mark Batterson

Sometimes God speaks to us, out of the storm. Other times He speaks in a still, small voice. God chooses what will be allowed into our lives. And the enemy comes against us, to test our faith. But we choose how we will face the battles. I will face my battles, asking God what to do. For surely He has a purpose for each battle, as well as for each quiet day. I will trust God, for everything under Heaven belongs to Him.
Sometimes God gives me signals and sometimes I listen. Today I woke with a headache/migraine and I truly did not want to go to work so I decided I would sleep away the headache and go in about Noon. Then Tina called me with the horrific news and to stay home. I don't do well with horrible news, not that anyone does, but I would be crying and yelling and just being a disaster to everyone. So thank you God for allowing me to do that at home. My thoughts and prayers are with Everyone at the WJHS and WHS and everyone period. What a fighter and what a beautiful person.
Sometimes God's blessings and His work comes from unexpected and unpredictable places. In a time where primetime TV is filled with attempting to implant homosexuality, immorality, perversion and non-Christian values into us and our children as an "acceptable way of life" I think it's AWESOME that we have a primetime show that promotes praying together every evening as a family, forgiveness, clean comedy, and overall good Christian values AND has over 6.5 million viewers and growing. You may not know it, but ALL of the Robertson men are devout Christians, active in the church and devoted to spreading God's word. Thank You Phil Robertson, Si Robertson, Al Robertson, Willie Robertson, Jase Robertson, and Jep Robertson.

Wilderness Living--"If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction." PS 119:93. Psalm 119 is the great psalm that praises the Word of God. Sometimes God's Word is our only delight when life turns south. How wonderful that the Word will keep us from perishing in our affliction. This particular section declares that the Word is eternal, stands firm, endures, preserves, and are boundless--without limit. Thank you O Lord for preserving me in my affliction through your Word.
Below is my Tribute to Bishop. I was so overwhelmed I couldn't read it today! Pray for us as we move forward without our Moses! Moving forward without Moses I've often wondered and pondered for years, trying to imagine how Joshua felt when Moses died! There was no fight for position, Joshua was the heir and successor of Moses' Ministry. He had been trained, prepared, cultured, matured and as a diamond in the rough, chiseled, cut to continue where Moses left off. To carry a mantle, to walk in his shoes, to stand in his absence. He was not eager, he was not an opportunist, he was his spiritual son. When there is succession, proper succession, there is no war. Often we hear of blood relative succession, but as with David and Absolom, sometimes even family can be the enemy. Sometimes God sends someone who doesn't share your blood, who understands you, to follow you and to carry on. Joshua knew this day would come and yet though prepared for it, it still caught him by surprise. If you've ever carefully read th ...
Words of Encouragement 3/2/13: comes from a wonderful pastor friend of mine, Wes Jacobson. It's a little longer than normal but worth the read. IS IT TOO LATE TO PRAY? Sometimes God speaks to us in unexpected ways. The other evening on TBN, one of the guests gave a testimony of being in a foreign country where a group of Christians had come under attack and several of their family members were tortured and killed. I wasn’t really listening all that much but I remember hearing a phrase that hit me strong; “the Christians fell on their knees and buried their heads in the dirt crying out to God to help them forgive their attackers and help them to love them into the Kingdom of God. I couldn’t forget the testimony I heard and I began to wonder if I found myself in a similar situation could I do what they did in asking God to help me forgive and not only forgive, but to love my enemy into His Kingdom. I began to wonder where, am I putting my trust. How much do I really love God? I want to know God in suc ...
Sometimes God doesn't give us what we fervently pray for cos he knows it's a complication to our life. "God I want ... money, kids, boyfriend...!" Sometimes having these things mask our real needs, and what's worse is when we are unprepared for the reality of what these things entail ;-). Our Heavenly Father wants things to bless us not curse us. He knows what I need more. Maybe the deeper cry of the heart is: I want to stop feeling like an orphan! I want real love! I want to be healed! ...the good and gracious father, full of mercy and compassion, never failing always just. You can depend on Him!
Did you know that sometimes grace will give you trouble? This was a hard concept for me to understand at first but after hitting rock bottom in my life, I got it. Sometimes God will give us struggles in order to give us an appetite for better things.

I needed this today... “ For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.” Psalm 48:14 (NIV) Sometimes God doesn't whisper lessons; He yells them over the roar of a sixteen-foot moving truck's engine. I'd just pulled onto I-10, making my way from Florida to my new home in Alabama, when I looked up in panic. My rearview mirror had fallen off! Not only had it fallen off, but it must have fallen out of the truck, because it sure wasn't anywhere I could see it. I called my husband in a panic. “There's no rearview mirror!” I squeaked. “Sweetie,” he said, “look behind you. What would the rearview mirror show?” I peeked quickly over my right shoulder to notice the solid wall behind me that separated the cab from the truck body. “There's no need for a rearview mirror,” he said. Even after my discovery (sideview mirrors only), I still found myself glancing up to check the cars behind me. As I caught myself each time, I couldn't help but wonder how much of my time ...
It has been a sad day today. We went to work and all was well, then I noticed one of our boarded horses was lying down way to soon after breakfast. Raine Mitchell has only had her 3 weeks, we got her up gave her a shot walked and walked and walked. Finally had to call Equine Services and thankful for Belinda Mendenhall and Michele Renee Roberts, for there quick trip to the barn. She did all the right things and she got much worse, Scot grab the truck and trailer and off we went to the vet office. We arrived with a sweet mare lying in the trailer and John Bennett, Steve Mullins and Belinda went to work, unfortunately she did not even make it 30 minutes after we got there. They found a large tumor in her intestinal tract. I have never seen a horse go from, Oh Boy, breakfast is here to be in the heavens with the angels. I told Raine as she left the barn today, Sometimes God brings us animals to die because they need to be in the present of safety, warmth and LOVE. She alone made the last 3 weeks a b ...
How to Make Your Own Life Plan Jason Cabler When you think about the future, what do you see? Do you see a clear picture of what you want the future to look like? Or do you see a amorphous vision, only a general idea of what you’d like it to be? I believe most all of us ponder and dream about the future on a regular basis. But how many of us have a clear life plan, a vision even, of what we want our future to look like? Even more, do you have a written life plan, and are you taking specific action toward shaping the future that you want for yourself? Are you actually making your future what you want it to be? If the answer is no, there are steps you can take to start bringing your nebulous vision of your future self into laser sharp focus. Of course, I certainly realize that you can’t fully predict every aspect of what the future will look like for you. Sometimes God has other plans. Life can certainly throw you some curveballs over the years that will change everything, such as sickness, disaster, jo ...

When God closes one door, he opens up another. I lost a man that I cared deeply for but God gave me a really good friend in return. Sometimes God gives us what we need and not always what we want. Shout out to "B" from VA!! Thanks for being you!!
I. Sometimes God's people just need to get together. In the Old Testament we read that Israel's greatest moments where when they were together and their worst moments where when they chose to go their own way. Joshua's peopel took the promised land together. But in the time of the judges it says, "Each person did what was right in his own eyes." They lived in cycles of trouble because they couldn't get together. Nadab and Abihu were two priests. They were in charge of building the fires for the tabernacle. One day they decided, "Hey let's build our own fire in the tabernacle." The fire they created was against God's command. The censer they used blew up in their faces and killed them both. Today we see so many so-called ministries and churches started because someone wanted to "Start their own fire." They haven't sought God. They simply wanted something they could call tier own. The mountains are full of private enterprises passing themselves off as churches. Today as we worship there are literally hundre ...
Just finished The Word for Sunday morning service at Grace Paradise Fellowship and Sunday afternoons Black History Program at Free For All Baptist Church. Persistent Prayer has been in my spirit for some time now and God led me to preach on one of the attributes of persistent prayer. We must learn and accept that God comes and answers when he want to! Scripture is taken from Luke 1:8-13: we find the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth praying for God to give them a son. They pray for this for years, but never have their prayer answered when they wanted it or requested their son. They are at the point where they have given up because they are beyond child bearing age. But this is the time God answers their prayer. Delay does not mean Denial...(somebody should be shouting). Sometimes God delays prayers, because it's not what we need at that time in our lives! For my bible readers, the son God gave them was the Last prophet of the Old Testament and the Only one to see the Messiah(John The Baptist)! God not only ...

The Battle Is The Lord's And he said, "Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: 'Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's ... You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you." ~ 2 Chronicles 20: 15 & 17 This scripture here is a promise we can hold on to when going through difficult circumstances that seem out of our control and overwhelming. There are some battles that we simply can't fight - and shouldn't fight in our own strength. Sometimes God tells us to take our positions, stand still and see His deliverance. Sometimes we need to take our hands off, stand back and let God fight for us. We needn't fear what comes against us, but to stand firm in our faith. God knows the whole situation. ...

Sometimes God uses dreams to speak to us, Joseph when he dreamed he would be in a higher position than his family, Genesis 37; Nebuchadnezzar - had a bad dream foretelling a bad circumstance to happen to him, to be insane for 7 years, Daniel 3:19; and the dream Joseph had as a warning to him to keep baby Jesus away from King Herod who was killing the male babies. Matthew 2:12 There are many more people who had dreams in the bible

Afraid of being alone. - Sometimes God has to isolate you to deliver you. - Steven Furtick
Sometimes God puts his Spirit upon his messengers to send an alarm day and night, as did his messenger John, "Prepare ye the way of the Lord". Then, again, men of action are needed, who will not be swerved from duty, but whose energy will arouse, and demand, "Who will be on the Lord's side," let him come over with us. God will have a fitting message to meet his people in their various conditions. Swift messengers are sent throughout the kingdom with the message from Elijah. Representatives are sent from towns, villages, cities, and families. All seem in haste to answer the call as though some wonderful miracle was to be performed. Ahab, according to Elijah's command, gathers the prophets of Baal at Carmel. The heart of Israel's apostate leader is overawed, and he tremblingly follows the direction of the stern prophet of God. The assembly was upon Mount Carmel, a place of beauty when the dew and rain fall upon it, causing it to flourish. But now the beauty of Carmel, has languished under the curse of God. ...

Driving toward Pasco to pick Brian up from Prep and contemplating the seriousness of situations that I had been praying for and how things would work out when the Oscar Mayer Weiner Mobile traverses through my field of vision. I just had to laugh and laugh. Sometimes God just wants me to lighten up and remember that He's aware and has His hands on all my serious situations and that I have His full permission to take joy of life as a child.
A Devotional for such a time as this: The Ultimate Escape Artist SCRIPTURE READING: John 8:31–36 KEY VERSE: John 8:36 If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. Have you ever felt uncomfortable during church? Even in an age in which quaint hand fans have been replaced by powerful air-conditioning systems and wooden pews have been exchanged for upholstered ones, people can still feel terribly uncomfortable during a worship service. This discomfort has nothing to do with a church building’s amenities. Often, it has everything to do with the Holy Spirit’s conviction. Sometimes God will use a statement by your pastor or a reading of Scripture to burn a truth into your heart. Often, the message can be uplifting. At other times, it can be a sobering reminder that you still have an issue with which you must obey and trust God. If God has pricked your heart, deep down you will know the truth. And the longer you delay in dealing with the issue on God’s terms, the more difficult it will be to fina ...
Sometimes God moves fast and yet it seems like at the last minute. The youth service in our house has outgrown the house as of last Sunday and so within 1 week God has allowed us to rent the Farm Bureau basement as our next step. We have been looking for months, but i guess it wasn't time for Him to move us until now. So tonight we will meet there from 6-8pm. Some mommas are providing a BBQ dinner and the works! Come and enjoy - anyone from 6th-12th grade. Our goal is to see this grown to all all youth/all churches/all JESUS kind of service each week. All are invited!! Questions - give me a call! See you tonight!
So much going on in my life right now that is truly testing my faith, but I will be victorious! Sometimes God puts us through the fire to refine us and it can be a very painful process...please pray that I remain strong in the fire until He is finished with me!!
Ephesians 1 Ephesians is another book of the New Testament, and it is written by Paul. I do love the writings of Paul. The funny thing is right now a good pastor i listen to Mark Driscoll is doing a series on Ephesians right now, and i just finished my study on Ephesians. Sometimes God just put everything together for you. From chapter one i love verse 15-23 (through the end). In these verses Paul talks about his prayers and thankfulness he has for everyone. Paul says he does not cease giving thanks for you or remembering you in his prayers. How just flat out amazing would it be knowing Paul is praying and thankful for you. But Paul does not stop there, he prays that we get wisdom and knowledge and that the eyes of our heart open. If you get a chance read these verses, because this is how we should feel towards our fellow believers. As a Christian we should get excited when we hear about a new believer, and we should pray that other believers receive these blessings. We should also pray for non ...
My Morning Sermon: "When God Says Go.." (Repost) 1 Kings 17: 2,3 "And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan." - When you read of Elijah's story in 1 Kings 17, you will see the prophet received several commands from God to...Go. God tells him to Go and hide by the brook Cherith, then later the brook dries up and He tells Elijah to Go to Zarephath to meet a widow where He would provide for him, and Elijah would save her son. Then the Lord tells him to Go and deliver a message to King Ahab. God did great and mighty things through Elijah only because he was quick to obey Him no matter the challenge or the perceived outcome. When God said GO, Elijah would GO. There is a song I like by Karen Clark-Sheard that says, "The safest place in the whole wide world is in the will of God...so when God says Go...Go!" That is so true. Sometimes God says stay, but many times He says GO! Think of others in the bible. Wha ...

Dear Bro Jed, Thank you for your faithful visits to Asbury College/University. It has made a profound impact on my life and no doubt countless lives of many others challenged by God's message. When asked what I thought of you approach I could only reply, "Sometimes God uses a hammer!" as no doubt sometimes it takes a hammer to knock sense into dull flat heads (sometimes a really big hammer). After years of dull, watered down church services it is refreshing to hear both barrels with a call to repentance. The few times I have heard a good gospel message have been times going back to visit my father's church. I returned to finish my degree at Asbury after being gone for 20 years. I was blessed to see you still making regular stops to Wilmore. I know you pray "revival" every time you go out and preach. Though it may not always be evident, revival touched my heart recently when you came to campus. And now I remember how my heart was stirred when you came to visit in the 90's when God was doing a foundational ...

Good Morning FB family & friends My thought for today: Sometimes God has to pump our brakes for us. Some of us are constantanly in the fast lane speeding & may even be spinning out of control. So there he is again, right there when we need him. He's holding on to the steering wheel and pressing our brakes until we can govern ourselves. We MUST give him his time. We MUST remember that God is ALWAYS in control. We MUST praise him during the good, bad, ugly & the indifferent. Your blessings are coming. Keep praising him!!! Remember when it rain it pours. CATCH IT! My bucket is ready; what about yours? Go get it, LET'S GO YA'LL!
I met Caleb last night to eat before he went to work and as usual he blessed the food,it wasn't until after he left that a lady sitting beside us stopped me and told me how it blessed her that there are still young people who love God and are not embarressed to pray in public. That conversation led to such a blessing for me as she was a singlemom of 3 boys and 1 of them just graduated boot camp at PI. I knew the look of the teary eyes as she talked about her son and how proud she is of him.We both shared stories about our faults in raising our kids and the things we can't as women(even though we think we can) teach our sons. Sometimes God puts those strangers in our lives because they and we need a shoulder to lean on and even though I may seem to have it together,God knew I needed a little help yesterday and he also knew Katie needed some support to in her new journey of being a Mom of a US Marine. This was one of those Godwinks:) A new friend.Thank you Lord!
God is an incredible Interior Designer and a Master Carpenter! If you let Him live in your heart long enough, you will begin to change. Portraits of hurt will be replaced by landscapes of love. Bookcases of pain are removed altogether, and a plush comfortable chair moved in its place. Remodeling of the heart is not always pleasant, so be prepared for some discomfort in the process. Sometimes God may add a few shelves, but at times has been known to gut the entire east wing! He knows what needs to be done to build a mansion in your heart, so be patient! The Architect's plan is for you to be "more like Jesus!" Don't get discouraged . . . God isn't finished with you yet! Text: Eph 1:19
Hey FB, Did you ever get the feelin that you the only person in the world to have the worst day ever? Well, I have had that idea Plenty of times when everyday situations turn out to go from good to bad to worse all within a matter of seconds. Apart of my re- inventing process is Change my way of thinking which is the 2nd step. We as people only see what's in front of us and take it as is without questioning why it even happened. The change is this: instead of looking at it in a negative, look at in a blessing in disguise . Sometimes God is not just gonna give you stuff because you deserve it but because you earned it. You went through the process to work towards it and now you won your reward. I remember as a child, I was never like the rest of friends. I always followed my rules but had leadership qualities that most of my friends didn't have . As I got older and on my own, I learned to analyze more and read in between the lines to get a wayy better understanding of why me. The best way to deal is the 3 ...

Seeing the Works of God TGIF Today God Is First Volume 1 by Os Hillman Sunday, January 27 2013 Others went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters. They saw the works of the Lord. - Psalm 107:23-24a When you were a child, perhaps you may have gone to the ocean for a vacation. I recall wading out until the waves began crashing on my knees. As long as I could stand firm, the waves were of no concern to me. However, as I moved farther and farther into the ocean, I had less control over my ability to stand. Sometimes the current was so strong it moved me down the beach, and I even lost my bearings at times. But I have never gone so far into the ocean that I was not able to control the situation. Sometimes God takes us into such deep waters that we lose control of the situation, and we have no choice but to fully trust in His care for us. This is doing business in great waters. It is in these great waters that we see the works of God. The Scriptures tell us that the disciples testifie ...

Sometimes God takes what you wanted away from you, to bring everything you ever dreamed @ Los Baños, Laguna
Well fb family it's getting cold not but I'm extra warm with God's Love. He's brought me through a great deal it wasn't easy but Thanks be to God I've made it this far!!! So many things we do may not please God but if we ask He'll forgive us and love us no matter what. God is the best friend we can have, He'll never let you down! Sometimes God sends us true friends but we have to know what a friend is, don't call everyone a friend!!! ! 1 Friend 2. associates 3.acquaintances know which is which true friend is there when you need them when you don't you can talk about things don't worry about it getting all over town!!! So when you have a true friend be a true friend to them Love each other from the Heart not money trees
God Showed me Tithing... You tithe because its not what a person has or don't have. It's what God wants them to have. Ex 1. We hear all the time, God I'm not going to sow a seed into this pastor idk what he gonna do with my money. He already drive a finer car than me. I need to pay my Light/phone bill with this $100. We loose our blessings that way. The devil will twice steal your blessing from you. He stole it at the sowen. He stole it when your car broke down. All because you lean to your own understanding. Be obedient when God say sow money. Some say why money? Money is because it revolves around this days survival. We put money so close to our heart where God should be. So I say this!!! Are you going to trust God or the world? I will sow my seed of $100's God put into my heart for this individual. I suggest you be obedient as well. Watch God work that jigsaw puzzle of life you been dealing with come together IJN (In Jesus Name). Sometimes God shows you the individual to sow too. Sometimes he says jus ...
inShare 2 “And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them…Now therefore hearken unto their voice…and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.” 1 Samuel 8 God sets up kings, and takes them down The bible clearly teaches that it is God and not man who appoints rulers over the affairs of men: “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Romans 13:1 All through the bible we see God set up kings for a purpose, and take them down for a purpose. Sometimes God raises up a ruler to bless His people, like He did with King David. And sometimes He sets up a ruler by whom the people will be judged, as He did with Saul. But God does not only set up kings over His own people, He sets up kings over all people. Such was the case with Pharaoh of Egypt: “For the scri ...
Sometimes God puts decisions in front of us. To let us see how important where we are at the moment is.Thank You Lord
Seriously... I cannot get past how difficult this process has been (see post below). Going on hour this morning. After calling a third # this morning that we were specifically told to call yesterday and after holding another 30 minutes, the lady told us "nope, wrong department. Call this So... we call the next Wait another 30 minutes. FINALLY are with the right department. YAY!!! So the guy (rudely) asks for my friend's ssMy friend gives it to him. And... wait for it... they hang up on us again. Yep. That just happened. (So... on hold again. At the 20 minute mark. So for anyone waiting on work that is to be done by me... please be patient. I'm going on 5 hours of this.) Let me just say, if I were a single mother trying to work, take care of kids and deal with this... I would have literally had a nervous breakdown by now. Easy to judge until you walk in someone's shoes. Things are rarely how we judge them to be. It's not always as easy to "pick yourself up by your bootstraps". Sometimes God makes it requi ...

Sometimes God doesn't change your current situation, because he's trying to change your heart.
Tomorrow is never promised and sometimes life just seems so unfair. Why God takes certain people, we will never know? Does it have more to do with that person, or is there a larger message for the people left behind? No matter the lesson in the story, the pain of losing people is never easy. Shirley Caesar said it best, "Sometimes God's healing is by the way of the undertaker." We pray for healing on this side, but God's will may be to bring his child home to Glory.

Try building intimacy with God, this is not about how many times u attend church activities or give for the work of God, but in yr interest in the knowledge of Him which should be personal and a business of the heart.
Sometimes God gives me subtle reminders of why I am here in Los Angeles. Tonight, I met one of my most major drumming influences (Stemming from childhood); Chad Smith (Drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers). I thanked Mr. Smith for weighing such heavy influence on my style and for the contributions he has made to Rock 'n Roll. After shaking my hand like bros do, he smiled from ear to ear telling me "That is really cool man, thank you. I appreciate that". A close friend of mine told me after our meeting "There is a reason why you are standing here and he is standing there". He couldn't of been more spot on. - b.

Sometimes God doesn't change your situation because He's trying to change your heart!! me Dixie Hwy TODAY!!
From Emily: I cannot find the words to express my gratitude for you all without sounding trite or cliche. Please know that I appreciate each message and prayer that you have sent. Many of you have expressed concern about how we are holding up. Although I can only truly speak for myself, we seem to be hanging in there. It would be easy for me to allow anger to overcome me. It would be even easier to demand that God answer why he could allow this to happen. Earlier this week, A friend of mine posted a quote that said, “Sometimes God does not change your situation because he is trying to change your heart.” Regardless of the graveness of what we are facing, I know that God is still working in this situation. I have felt his love and comfort through each of you, and I choose to continue to focus on the many blessings that come have about because of what has happened. The last few weeks that I have spent with my mother have been the best of our relationship. Taking care of her has given me a renewed sense ...
Sometimes God gives you an idea to add to your business or ministry, but He doesn't want you to do it until you put in more support structures to your business and/or family life. Every time you add something your foundation has to be strength to handle to new weight. In my case, God has called me to add some major new things this year to my Christian Entrepreneurship Ministry. However, the things He has called me to add will take major time resources from my family. So until I can put more family support in place those things will have to be put on hold. This may seem like a lack of Faith, but Jesus set the example by saying Luke 14:28 (NLT) "But don't begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it? So yeah, I could get started, but I wouldn't be able to finish it without tearing my family apart. So I counted the cost, and the cost of my time to do this would be to great at this stage, e ...
Heard this quote the other day.. worth repeating " Sometimes God removes people from your life to protect you".. Rick Warren
Sorry, I am post happy today... I am joining the crowd... would love to see your five... Five things I learned in 2012 1.)Grandparents don’t last forever… My two living Grandparents died this year and I miss them very much– Make sure you see yours while you can. Trying to make sure my kids see theirs as much as possible. 2.)Sometimes God tells you to slow down & shows you how much your “real” friends and family love you by breaking your ankle and giving you some new hardware. 3.)Just because you can teach Kindergartners through third graders with ease does not mean teaching pre-k will be easy! 4.)Just because both your kids are in school full time does not mean working from home gets any easier. You just add more to your work and volunteer plate. And those that work outside of the home still think you have it so good! LOL! 5.)It’s best to Thank God daily for all your blessings, because even our most precious gifts can be taken away when we least expect it.

My little sisters status update 3 hours ago · Sometimes God makes mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes. And everyone finds a way to fix it. Those kids and teachers in Connecticut were unfortunately one of God's mistakes. Good people die everyday, and I still can't seem to understand why. But everyone finds forgiveness from God, and this time, its the Newtown families that God seeks forgiveness from. ♥ MY BRAIN JUST VOMITED -Gardner

Dear Father, Today, on this very special day, I bow my head and fold my hands in honor of my mother. You know her, even better than I. I know you listen as I come to you in thanks. Mom had the joy that only a mother can understand. That of feeling my first movement and my cry when I entered this world. She fed me day and night. She rocked me and held me tightly in her arms. She folded her hands and prayed, as she still continues to pray, during times of joy and during times of sadness. Mom worried about me when things didn't go right. But she was - and still is - the best coach a child could ever have. She quizzed, tested, pushed, listened to and guided me each and every day. I know she prayed that You would give her strength and courage to do what makes me the person I am today. She had a strong faith that things would get better, and she understood that the ups and downs of our lives are part of the journey Sometimes God, she was frazzled. No doubt, I'd done something for the hundredth time and she coul ...
Dependence on God—A Witness of His Power By: Adrian Rogers “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7 DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: If you’re like most people, you don’t realize your dependency on God until you’re burned out from stress—either self-induced or caused by circumstances beyond your control. Why is that? Paul says it’s because we are fragile. But he doesn’t stop there. He says that God made us this way so that His power may be known through us! Maybe someone told you, “Oh, just tie a knot and hang on!” Sometimes God wants us to let go of the rope because it is keeping us tied down to our destructive habits. We are totally dependent on God so that the love of His Son may be made known to the world. Get a piece of rope and tie a knot in it. Let it sit on your desk this week as a reminder that God is more than just a knot at the end of the rope. He is the Savior of the World!

Delays - Sometimes God's Plan Theme: Developing God's Purpose For Your Life Exodus 13:17-22 & Deut 8:2 Have you ever had a God inspired dream that didn’t happen as quickly as you thought it should? Yes, you had worked at it, but it seemed that many obstacles came against you. Finally, you gave up in despair. The dream lay dormant. I have always found the following quip to be an encouraging thought. Don’t give up! Between failure and success the point is so fine, We sometimes do not know when they touch the line. Just when the pearl was waiting one more plunge, How many a struggler has thrown up the sponge. Then take this honey from the bitterest cup, There is no failure except in giving up. God had inspired a dream of the Promise Land in the heart of the Israelite people. They dreamed of a land that flowed with milk and honey. A land of freedom; A land where they could be free from the whips of the evil taskmasters of Egypt. Scholars say that the journey to the promise land was only a one-two week jou ...
