Rep. Jack Kingston will join businessman David Perdue in the Georgia GOP Senate runoff on July 22, according to The Associated Press. With 87 percent of precincts reporting, Perdue was in first place with 30 percent of the vote. Kingston was in second, at 26 percent. Former Secretary of State Karen Handel was third, at 22 percent, too far behind Kingston to catch him in the AP's estimation. The winner of the runoff will face Democrat Michelle Nunn in the general election. Some Republicans feared nominating a more outspoken conservative candidate, like Reps. Paul Broun or Phil Gingrey, would endanger their chances of holding the seat being vacated by retiring GOP Sen. Saxby Chambliss. But Broun and Gingrey were both well behind, each with just under 10 percent of the vote at latest count.

Veterans healthcare bill advances in U.S. Senate By Richard Cowan WASHINGTON Tue Feb 25, 2014 4:47pm EST (Reuters) - An expansion of healthcare and education programs for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan cleared its first procedural hurdle on Tuesday, as Democrats in the U.S. Senate attempted to win passage of the legislation this week. By a vote of 99-0, the Senate laid the groundwork for debating a bill that would create 27 new medical facilities in 18 states and Puerto Rico to help meet the growing needs of veterans of the long combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. "This is the most comprehensive piece of veterans' legislation to be offered in decades and addresses many of the challenges facing service members, veterans and their families," said Senator Bernard Sanders of Vermont, the chief sponsor of the bill. Despite the unanimous vote on this procedural move to open Senate debate, the fate of the legislation was uncertain. Some Republicans criticized provisions of the bill, includin ...

Chastened G.O.P. Tries to Foil Insurgents at Primary Level By JEREMY W. PETERS FEB. 9, 2014 Richard H. Black, a Republican state senator in Virginia, holding plastic fetuses. He announced his candidacy for the House, but dropped out under pressure from powerful Republicans. Steve Helber/Associated Press WASHINGTON — Richard H. Black is a Republican state senator from the Northern Virginia suburbs who once sent plastic fetuses to his colleagues with a note attached: “Would you kill this child?” He said a statue of Lincoln had no business going up in Richmond because it would be “sort of like putting the Confederate flag at the Lincoln Memorial.” And he tried to block unmarried, *** and *** couples from receiving state home loans, saying that would “subsidize sodomy and adultery.” Mr. Black easily won his latest race, and had party leaders on his side. But when he started exploring a run for Congress last month, he felt a distinct chill. Some Republicans were concerned that he could becom ...
Good morning, our live Sunday political panel is tackling these topics in our 6am hour. Weigh in now and Sally MacDonald FOX 26 may read your comment on air! 1.) We're a month away from the March primary. Four powerful Republicans are locked in a tight race for lieutenant governor. The candidates have been criticized for pandering to the far right. Do you know who you'll be voting for? Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, who is seeking re-election; State Senator Dan Patrick of Houston; Todd Staples, the agriculture commissioner; and Jerry Patterson, the land commissioner are running 2.) Has the GOP established a path to citizenship? Some Republicans say children of illegal immigrants should get a chance to become citizens but only if they earn a college degree or serve in the military. What do you think? Do you support citizenship for children brought here illegally if they're succeeding?
One-time mentors and fundraisers for President Barack Obama admonished him in an open letter on Thursday for his failure to close the military prison at Guantanamo Bay. The president promised to shutter the prison in 2008 but has blamed congressionally imposed restrictions and diplomatic hurdles for his failure to do so over five years in office. In the letter, a bipartisan group of Chicago lawyers — many who know Obama personally — argue that the president has all the authority he needs now to transfer prisoners out and has no excuse for inaction. Signatories include Chicago civil rights attorney Judson Miner, who gave Obama his first job out of law school, and Steven Cohen, a top bundler who raised more than $650,000 for the president during his two campaigns. Judge Abner Mikva, who offered a young Obama a clerkship and later became his mentor, also signed the letter. Some Republicans also joined, including former Illinois Gov. Jim Thompson. About half of the remaining detainees in the 12-year-old p ...

Black and Politics Blacks loyally voted for republicans until the 1920’s. The Republican presidents awarded them with small amounts of patronage. Some Republicans remained loyal supporters of civil rights for blacks. But the Democratic Party remained dominated by the Southern, segregationist wing. Woodrow Wilson ordered the segregation of all federal facilities in Washington D.C. after he became president. To show how much the Roosevelt’s hated segregation, Franklin appointed blacks to high offices. But he was not the only one. William Hastie appointed the first black federal judge, and Eleanor Roosevelt invited the National Council of *** Women to have tea. Her most important act against segregation was when she resigned from the Daughters of America Revolution when they refused to allow an opera singer, Marian Anderson, to give a concert because she was black. But things started to turn in the 1930’s when Northern blacks increasingly voted for Democrats instead of the Republicans. The tu ...

I am not a blind Republican Party person. Some Republicans are RINOs (Republican In Name Only). However, generally speaking, Republicans are conservative, defenders of the Constitution and Bill of Rights, strongly pro-life and pro-family, pro-armed forces, pro Second Amendment, pro-business, for fiscal responsibility, for a balanced budget, for a smaller government, for more individual rights, and for less taxation. Remember, not one Republican in either the House or Senate voted for the disaster called ObamaCare. By contrast, the Democrats are on the wrong side of all of these issues and freedoms, while promoting perversion and the breakdown of marriage and the family. Do you remember how at the last Democrat Convention (when Obama was re-nominated) the delegates screamed and shouted against even mentioning the name of God in the Democrat platform? Even though all of the foregoing commentary is absolutely true, there are still men and women who appear to be intelligent, and who claim to be good ...

"Some Republicans trying to inflict harm on the American people?" Oh, Ted Cruz is referring to himself and the Tea Party.
A reckless Republican bid to undercut the Affordable Care Act failed miserably, producing only damage to the economy and the GOP brand. The best that can be said is these misguided political warriors didn't cause a bigger disaster — turning the U.S. government into a deadbeat borrower. But the legislation that removed the barricades from Washington's memorials and reopened federal offices on Thursday is good only until Jan. 15. That's just 90 days away. Another deadline — this one for extending government's borrowing authority — follows 23 days later, on Feb. 7. In the meantime, we're left to wonder whether the uncompromising Republicans who took America to the brink of default before capitulating learned anything. Some Republicans are asking the same thing. “This package is a joke compared to what we could have gotten if we had a more reasonable approach,” Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina told the Washington Post. “But live and learn; we'll be doing this in a couple months.” President ...

What is it?? Is the right wing echo chamber really that good??!! Or are people really that disengaged?? Either way it's pretty disheartening. Because once again, Americans are confused and once again that confusion seems to be mainly with voters on the conservative side of the political spectrum. It doesn't help that the mainstream media, CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC are totally inept at informing the American people with the truth. Here is the truth! The government shutdown is not the result of both parties acting irresponsibly. This totally avoidable crisis is the result of a hand full of Republicans who have made it perfectly clear that expanding health coverage to millions of Americans is something that must be stopped at all costs. Some Republicans were actually pushing for a government shutdown, and when the government actually did shut down, some republicans on the House floor cheered! No need to rub your eyes or adjust your eyeglasses, what you've just read is accurate! On the prospect of millions of fed ...
Some Republicans are beginning to complain more and more that with the help of outside, Tea Party-inspired groups, Mr. Cruz and others like Senators Marco Rubio of Florida and Rand Paul of Kentucky — both presidential prospects who battled alongside their colleague from Texas in the current health care fight — are leading conservatives to believe the current fight over cutting money for the health law is winnable when it is not.

Cont...Under current law, illegal immigrants and legal residents of fewer than five years are mostly barred from receiving benefits under Medicaid, the joint state-federal health insurance program for the poor. That restriction does not apply to poor immigrants who show up at hospital emergency rooms, however. While writing the Affordable Care Act, Congress sidestepped the dicey issue of illegal immigration by excluding immigrants who are in the country illegally from its provisions. That means that those immigrants will not get government subsidies to help them buy private insurance plans, nor can they benefit from the law’s expansion of Medicaid. At the same time, however, they are exempted from the mandate, taking effect next year, that every person must carry health insurance or face a tax penalty. Some Republicans think it would be unfair to exclude such immigrants from the insurance mandate. I forward and post this FYI and interest. Robert Donin Robert Donin Insurance GOP to constituents: Questions on ObamaCare? Call Obama. By Elise Viebeck - 06/15/13 12:00 PM ET Republican lawmakers say they anticipate a flood of questions in the coming months from constituents on the implementation of ObamaCare, which will pose a dilemma for the GOP. [WATCH VIDEO] People regularly call their representatives for help with Medicare, Social Security and other government programs. Yet, Republicans believe healthcare reform spells doom for the federal budget, private businesses and the U.S. healthcare system. They're also enormously frustrated that the law has persevered through two elections and a Supreme Court challenge and believe a botched implementation could help build momentum for the repeal movement. Some Republicans indicated to The Hill they will not assist constituents in navigating the law and obtaining benefits. In Obama's Image ~ U.S. President Barack Obama reshuffled his national security team Wednesday, and it’s a sign of the times that the reaction was mostly yawns. The president’s choices for national security advisor and ambassador to the United Nations are loyalists who share Mr. Obama’s view that the U.S. is no longer the world’s “indispensable nation” (as Bill Clinton’s Secretary of State Madeline Albright once put it). Some Republicans are squawking that Mr. Obama named U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to the NSC post despite her post-Benghazi follies. But the position is the most personal in foreign policy and requires no Senate confirmation. Her false Benghazi spin cost her a promotion to Secretary of State, and Mr. Obama is now making amends by handing her the top White House security post. She replaces Tom Donilon, a Hillary Clinton loyalist who served with discretion even if he leaves with the world a more dangerous place. Mr. Donilon helped to fulfill Mr. Obama’s desire to steer the U.S ...
Just had an interesting and reasonable (was with a republican) debate about the eligibility of Ted Cruz to be President. Now there's almost no one on this Planet that wants Ted Cruz to be President more than me, but I believe he is not a "Natural Born" citizen like the Constitution requires, but he is a naturalized citizen like the 14th Amendment states. Some Republicans seem to think he is, so I'd like to hear from the Conservatives now.
Some Republicans hope to gain more districts, while Democrats say another Hispanic-controlled district should be created.
“What is broken is our system of government whereby the elites in both parties consistently ignore the will of the people on an issue as important as border enforcement. This bill will make life more difficult for middle class Americans and legal immigrants who are already struggling to find decent-paying jobs that cover the bills. Some Republicans are desperate to agree to anything in hopes of winning the Latino vote. They are on a fools errand, will infuriate their grass roots supporters, and will compromise their remaining credibility as a ‘law and order’ party.” — Laura Ingraham
Good Morning! Thanks for the comments yesterday on my "freckles post." I laughed so hard! Although I did put on sunscreen when I went out for a run yesterday. In the news today: The headlines say it all: "CAN OBAMA BOUNCE BACK?" And, "D-C TURNS ON OBAMA." Well, it's about to get worse. The President's Attorney General, Eric Holder, will testify on Capitol Hill about Benghazi, the IRS scandal and "spying" on AP reporters. Republicans have called for Holder to resign. Some Republicans suggest the President could be impeached. Oh, it's going to get ugly in DC today. Also: OJ Simpson is expected to take the stand today. Do you care what he says? And, the National Transportation Safety Board is now recommending the blood alcohol level for drunk driving be lowered to .05. That's four beers in an hour for a man who weighs 190 pounds. Restaurant owners are incensed. We'll talk about that. And holy wow! LA Dodger, Hyun-Jin Ryu, played catch with a little boy in the stands during batting practice. Talk about a fie ...

The New McCarthyist: Ted Cruz via The New York Times As the Senate edged toward a divisive filibuster vote on Chuck Hagel's nomination to be defense secretary, Senator Ted Cruz, Republican of Texas, sat silent and satisfied in the corner of the chamber — his voice lost to laryngitis — as he absorbed what he had wrought in his mere seven weeks of Senate service. Mr. Hagel, a former senator from Mr. Cruz’s own party, was about to be the victim of the first filibuster of a nominee to lead the Pentagon. The blockade was due in no small part to the very junior senator’s relentless pursuit of speeches, financial records or any other documents with Mr. Hagel’s name on them going back at least five years. Some Republicans praised the work of the brash newcomer, but others joined Democrats in saying that Mr. Cruz had gone too far. Without naming names, Senator Barbara Boxer, Democrat of California, offered a biting label for the Texan’s accusatory crusade: McCarthyism. “It was really reminiscent of a ...

Some Republicans will try to hold up their former colleague's confirmation as Pentagon chief. But the conventional wisdom is that the Senate will move to put Hagel in that job before the end of this week.
Reading about Chester A. Arthur's bio reminded me that there are no new issues in the realm of politics. Being a student of politics and history I know that issues we have now we're debated before. Arthur faced immigration reform because we were concerned with the amount of Asians coming across the Pacific to California. Some Republicans were concerned about the Southerners owing guns, shortly after the Civil War, so they tried to limit the sale of rifles. Arthur's birth controversy and so on. Read up on our history you will find that the debates we are having now have all happened before.

I would like to know, from the so called moderate Republicans, the specifics as to how the GOP should change its Platform on social issues. The following is from the GOP Platform: ABORTION -Support human life amendment; oppose abortion funding. -Promote adoption & abstinence, not abortion clinic referrals -Human Life Amendment to the Constitution. -Ban abortion with Constitutional amendment -Alternatives like adoption, instead of punitive action CIVIL RIGHTS -Constitutionally define marriage as one man & one woman -Homosexuality is incompatible with military service -Support the advancement of women in the military -States should not recognize *** marriage from other states -Affirmative Access, without preferences or set-asides -Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage -Strong support for traditional definition of marriage Let Boy Scouts exercise free ...
Governor Kasich's in town to push his tax plan. Our story's at 6 and 6:30 but here's some initial reaction. Many Democrats say that even though there's school funding included, it doesn't make up for previous cuts. They also claim the deep income and business tax cuts favor the rich. Some Republicans don't like the new professional services taxes. Rush Limbaugh called out Kasich for accepting federal money to expand Medicaid, a key provision of Obamacare that's being rejected by some other GOP governors. Kasich supporters note that he's moved Ohio from an $8 billion deficit to a nearly $2 billion surplus. And they say he wants to attract businesses to Ohio with low taxes and regulation, as they do in Texas. California, they say, is doing the opposite and suffering a reverse Gold Rush. Hear from Kasich tonight on ABC22 and FOX45.

Some Republicans are suggesting that President Obama is trying to destroy the Republican Party. Do you believe that’s true?
President Barack Obama unveiled his vision for immigration reform in a speech on Tuesday afternoon in Las Vegas, Nev., telling Congress that he will send them his own bill and call for a vote if they don't move fast. "If Congress is unable to move forward in a timely fashion, I will send up a bill based on my proposal and insist that they vote on it right away," Obama said to applause from students at Del Sol High School. "It looks like there's a genuine desire to get this done soon, and that's very encouraging," Obama said, mentioning a blueprint put forward by a bipartisan group of eight senators on Monday. "But this time action must follow." Obama's speech was the latest move in a chess match between the White House and some Republicans in Congress to craft an outline for reform that can both be enacted into law while meeting the expectataions of the growing population of Hispanic voters who now overwhelmingly favor Democrats. Some Republicans want to support immigration reform in part to combat the pa ...

Jack Lew, President Barack Obama's nominee for treasury secretary, is a premier federal budget expert who would take the helm of the government's main agency for economic and fiscal policy just as the administration girds itself for a new confrontation with congressional Republicans over the nation's debt and deficits. Obama will nominate Lew on Thursday afternoon, continuing to put a second-term imprint on his Cabinet by choosing yet another close ally to a key government post. A year ago, almost to the day, Obama appointed Lew as his chief of staff, taking him from his perch as director of the Office of Management and Budget into the White House's tight inner circle. In selecting Lew to replace Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Obama not only picks an insider steeped in budget matters but also a tough bargainer. Some Republicans complain that Lew has been unyielding in past fiscal negotiations. If confirmed, Lew would assume the post in time for the administration to tangle anew with Republicans over ...

We wrote about House Republicans being unwilling to pass a bill for Hurricane Sandy victims. Some Republicans on this page claim it is because of "pork" ... But that is total B.S. There is some pork but anyone who understands civics will understand that since Republicans control the House ... They can write their own bill. They won't though because helping hurricane victims is their idea of big government. Just ask Chris Christie and Peter king. It is insane.
The next election we need to focus on is the gubernatorial race. Dustin Mcdaniel the Attorney General of AR will be the Democrat ticket as Bebee has served his limit. Some Republicans that might be in the race are Johnny Key, Curtis Coleman, Asa Hutchinson, some talk of Steve Womack, Mark Darr, and I'm sure there are others. This position will be key as I believe we will see a battle between the states and an overreaching federal government. We need good men and women in these positions across the nation.
Senate report on Benghazi lets Obama off hook Homeland Security Committee finds intelligence agencies, not White House, are responsible for "talking point" changes. Last Modified: 01 Jan 2013 03:38 A Senate report has said the FBI, CIA and other intelligence agencies - but not the White House - made major changes in talking points that led to the Obama administration's explanations of the attack on US diplomatic facilities in Benghazi. The Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee report said on Monday the White House was only responsible for a minor change. Some Republicans had questioned whether the presidential staff rewrote the talking points for political reasons. The committee, headed by independent Sen Joe Lieberman and Republican Sen Susan Collins, also said the director of national intelligence has been stonewalling the panel, in holding back a promised timeline of the talking point changes. US Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the September 11 ...

The important part of Section 8 is Congress’s duty to levy and collect taxes to pay debts and provide for the nation’s general welfare, but as Republicans bemoaned the national debt they created, they refused to fulfill their constitutional duty to lay and collect taxes to pay the nation’s debts. Some Republicans are re-evaluating their strict adherence to Norquist’s attempt to destroy the government, and questioning the wisdom of promising to never raise taxes, but they are in the minority and Norquist recently made it clear his true followers are moving forward with their assault on the government and the people. Shortly after Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss said he had a problem with the Grover Norquist tax pledge because he cared “more about my country than I do about a 20-year-old pledge,” and that “if we do it his way, then we’ll continue in debt.” Norquist disputed the idea his plan would not help the economy and said he personally supports Paul Ryan’s plan he said would pay dow ...

Hispanic Vote in 2012 Election: Reaction and Response Since the national Hispanic vote supported Obama 71% to 27% in the recent presidential election some liberals are quick to claim the GOP immigration position drove Hispanics into the Democratic ranks. Some Republicans are even ready to surrender and compromise their principles out of fear. However, the facts show immigration was probably not the major issue as some claim, but rather the GOP suffered from a poor ground game. In 1984 Walter Mondale won 61% of the Hispanic vote while Ronald Reagan took 37% in a national landslide victory. Two years later, Reagan signed into law the 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli Immigration Reform Act which gave amnesty to several million illegal aliens. The amnesty was supposed to bring Hispanics into the GOP. But in 1988, Democrat candidate Michael Dukakis took 69% of the Hispanic vote while George H.W. Bush won 30%. Amnesty didn’t help the GOP very much. Since then, the Hispanic vote has swung up and down. In 1996 Bill Clinto ...
Cal Thomas Nov 13, 2012 "The color of the world is changing day by day." -- "Les Miserable's", the musical "A look at the electoral map indicates the Republican Party won in square miles. Unfortunately for them, electoral votes, not landmass, won President Obama a second term. Analysis from the Center for Responsive Politics estimated that total spending on federal elections would peak at nearly $6 billion, an all-time record. This spending included ads that carpet bombed swing states; yet we are still an almost equally divided nation. But America is rapidly changing. Historically, the losing party turns introspective and asks itself how to attract more voters. Some Republicans are suggesting that social issues be jettisoned and the GOP should become more like Democrats. Why, then, have two parties? Step one in a reform agenda would be to remove "old" from the GOP moniker. Conservatives can adapt to the cultural shift without compromising their principles, or they can retreat into a bunker mentality, lobb ...
Some Republicans are reportedly dismayed Mitt Romney blamed his loss on President Obama buying the vote with entitlement "gifts." But shouldn't they be happy to finally have proof Romney wasn't faking it?
Along with questions about Broadwell's access, the Petraeus' scandal also presents challenges to the congressional inquiry into the Benghazi attack. Petraeus recently traveled to Libya to meet the CIA station chief to discuss the attack, CNN has confirmed. He was scheduled to testify before a congressional committee this week on the assault and the U.S. government response to it. That now will not happen, but it is possible that he could be summoned by Congress to testify later. Some Republicans have criticized the administration's response to the Benghazi attack and have speculated that Petraeus' departure was linked to the congressional inquiry. Rep. Peter King, R-New York, said elements of the story "don't add up." He called Petraeus "an absolutely essential witness, maybe more than anybody else." However, a senior U.S. official said Petraeus' departure wasn't connected to the Benghazi hearing.
Some Republicans say Romney's loss is partly the fault of conservative media that kept overstating the candidate's real strength.
Some Republicans aren't holding back when it comes to assessing what went wrong for the party in the election. "We have the right message on the finances," said Rep. Steve LaTourette, R-Ohio, on CNN's Starting Point. "We have to get out of people's lives, get out of people's bedrooms and we have to be a national party, or else we're going to lose." Exit polls show President Obama's re-election was delivered through the votes of young people, minorities and women. LaTourette says the nation's red-blue map, showing the states that voted for Obama and Mitt Romney, points to a larger problem for the GOP. "The Republican Party cannot be a national party if we give up the entire East Coast of the United States," said LaTourette, who is retiring in January. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, said on the same CNN program that Republicans were hurt by comments about "legitimate rape" by Senate nominee Todd Akin in Missouri. Even after Romney and other top Republicans denounced Akin, Hutchison said the Akin commen ...

Nov. 4: Did Hurricane Sandy Blow Romney Off Course? By NATE SILVER If President Obama wins re-election on Tuesday, the historical memory of the race might turn on the role played by Hurricane Sandy. Already, some analysts are describing the storm as an “October surprise” that allowed Mr. Obama to regain his footing after stumbling badly in the first presidential debate and struggling to get back on course. Some Republicans seem prepared to blame a potential defeat for Mitt Romney on the storm, and the embrace of Mr. Obama by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and other public officials. The theory has some appeal. The last three days of polling have brought what is almost certainly Mr. Obama’s strongest run of polling since the first presidential debate in Denver. Mr. Obama led in the vast majority of battleground-state polls over the weekend. And increasingly, it is hard to find leads for Mr. Romney in national surveys — although several of them show a tie. When the hurricane made landfall in New Jer ...
Some Republicans say they are moving to Canada if Obama is re-elected on Tuesday. Hm, maybe not the best choice. A poll held across Canada this past week gave Obama 90%. Also, they have national health care, much stronger than 'Obama-care.'
why Romney has to lie so much. He called it wrong ,very wrong ""Romney's line ."Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" he called for the auto companies to be taken through a managed bankruptcy with the aid of private capital. The major problem with this argument is that there was no such private capital to be had at the time; that's why the companies were begging for federal help. * The bailout was a good idea. Some Republicans' attempt to argue against the bailout is muddled by the fact that other Republicans supported it. A December 2008 precursor bill that died in the Senate was supported by 32 Republican House members, including eight Michigan Republicans, two Ohio Republicans, and Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan -- now Romney running mate. Nine Republican senators also supported the measure, including then-Ohio Sen. George Voinovich. But Ohioans seem to think it worked, and they give Obama credit for it. Having cycled through so many arguments against it, all of them unsuccessful, Romney appears to have concluded the on ...

October 25, 2012 By Anomaly This post is mainly for the ladies, but guys, you are very important to us, so don’t go anywhere. There is a positive side in hearing/reading what GOPers think of our gender, and our bodies. We already knew; it was made evident by how they vote and now the public is more aware too. We don’t need men to give us power, when we can empower ourselves with the decision to get out and vote on election day. Some Republicans and talkers have had the audacity to voice their concerns lately over whether women should have the right to vote. That should *** you the *** off. From the video below, with Ms. Leslie Gore’s song, ”In 2008, 60% of voters were women. It is estimated that 10 million more women than men will vote in this election. Despite this, women make up only 16% of Congress.” We cannot contribute even more to society if their collective boot is still on our necks. We have a voice. We vote. No longer should a group of men dictate whether rape is rape, or just a ‘li . ...
I know everyone is tired of political posts. But this is really, really important. Some Republicans like Linda McMahon are telling us they're pro-choice. But their party and their platform, is not. Say it's true -- that she is pro-choice, pro-woman, and believes that we should have control over our own bodies and healthcare decisions. One should not presume that if they should win their seat, that they will crusade against their party and pursue pro-choice legislation. Even if they did, it would not make a difference. So I humbly ask that you think about this when you are standing there at the polling booth and making your final decision. This election is not just about the economy. It is about the very real danger of making abortion illegal. It's about defunding Planned Parenthood which provides basic healthcare and cancer screenings to people all over the country. It's about white, middle-aged GOP men who will never have to make these decisions themselves, forcing their personal opinions on women who ma ...

So, NC taxes reportedly will rise by $1000 or more per family per year come January 2013. But, President Obama promised he would cut taxes. Some Republicans may think Big Bird made a mistake, but most New-age Democrats use absolute values; so, to them, negative is the new positive. So, really China owes the US 16 trillion... Yay Obama!
I understand having disagreements over politics on both sides but when you start printing blatant lies that you KNOW have NO TRUTH to them, you begin to discredit your entire party. It is a sad day when I see an article stating President Obama is *** or that he set up Ambassador Stevens to be killed or hearing a fox news say they wouldn't put it past him to start a war to secure his re-election. All this tells me is that there are Republicans out there that are willing to do whatever it takes to secure votes for Romney. I get wanting your candidate to win, but at what cost? I am a Democrat and WILL vote for Obama, but I am not willing to lie for him! I would not sacrifice my integrity or moral grounds for anyone! Some Republicans claims to be so Christian and righteous, they must have missed Proverbs 14:5 "A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness will utter lies"
If u read all of my last Rant you'll see I said I know its not just Republicans that r anti-abortion pro-life. I know there r some Democrats that have that view too they just haven't made fools of themselves. The entire article wasn't biased on Republicans either. I'm Pro-Choice but judge Pro-Life supporters. Some Republicans don't want contraception b/c it gives women a license to have sex. Hello they r going 2 do it anyway. & Until I read what the Vice President candidate Paul Ryan said I actually thinking if Romney could keep religion & his moral views out of his presidential candidacy he wouldn't be so bad. I'm not voting b/c I don't feel strongly enough in either candidate... Obama w/Hilary Clinton would be a good team, but alas that's just a wish.
Some Republicans are saying the polling showing Obama ahead is rigged. A couple thoughts: 1. Why would you want to rig polls to show your candidate ahead? You would think that if you were trying to influence the election by rigging polls, you'd want to motivate your base, not demotivate them. 2. Think back four months, when the race was dead even. No one was saying the polling was rigged then. Now, think about everything Mitt has said and done in the last four months--the London Olympics gaffes, the 47% comments, the Libya gaffes with The Smirk, appointed a very polarizing figure to be his running mate, contradicted himself when he said on 60 minutes that emergency room care is already an available means of healthcare... After all of that, starting from even, if you still think polls showing Obama moving ahead are rigged, well, no amount of logic is going to help you. Which might explain your political perspective. ;-]
Questions about how the Obama administration has handled the attack in Libya that killed the US ambassador on Sept. 11 have taken a harder political edge. Some Republicans say UN Ambassador Susan Rice should resign over faulty reporting of the attack.
More Republican crap! Does this make a bit of sense if people are looking for a job. Some Republicans are busily trying to make it a law that if you own a car of any description, you will be unable to receive SNAP benefits (that’s food for the poor, if you aren’t familiar with the term) until you sell that car. This plan is Rush Limbaugh-approved, so you know it is empathetic and fair and kind-hearted and rational. (Yeah…no.) So while you are struggling to find work, and being told that you need reliable transportation to be hired (try to find a decently compensated job that does not require employees to have their own transportation), and being scorned for being unemployed, Republicans want to take your personal transportation away (while blocking any public transportation-related programs, mind you) or deny you help with food. Nice people.
9/27/12 - Here's a example of how "going off half-cocked" can come back to haunt you - especially if you're part of the Republican hierarchy. You'll recall that several Republican leaders told Akin to withdraw from the Senate race last month after he gave a local interview in which he used some unfortunate language about rape. Some Republicans even told Akin to resign. He apologized for his remarks and clarified them, but refused to step aside, claiming he had a solid chance to unseat the Democrat pro-choice candidate, Claire McCaskill. Akin is now locked in as the Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Missouri after the deadline to withdraw passed this week, and a growing number of Republicans have begun lining up behind him as their only option for holding on to the seat. It's about time. On Wednesday, Sen. Jim DeMint and former Sen. Rick Santorum, both of whom hold the reins to political action committees that could help Akin, offered their endorsements. And after having said it would withhold all its fu ...
As president, Johnson has promised to propose a balanced budget during his first year in office. He says that means cutting the federal budget by over 43%. Regardless of how he got there, libertarians have to agree with this. Likewise for all of those conservatives who complain about “RINOs” (Republicans in Name Only). If they truly do want to see the size and influence of the government reduced, Johnson is really their only choice. Romney openly admits that he will spend more in his first year in office than Obama is spending now. Some Republicans claim that voting for Johnson would be “handing the election to Obama,” but that’s not true. Johnson is pro-choice. He wants to end the war in Afghanistan. He is pro *** marriage. He wants to abolish the Patriot Act. These are all core liberal issues that Obama has failed on. Johnson could easily take as many votes from Obama as he does from Romney. The most compelling reason to cast a vote for Johnson is what it could do for the third party movement ...

"There are not so many differences between politics and football. Some Republicans have been unkind enough to suggest that my close election was somewhat similar to the Notre Dame-Syracuse game (won by Notre Dame with a disputed penalty) But I am like Notre Dame. We just take it as it comes along. We're not giving it back." John F. Kennedy
I've been thinking. Oh, oh. There are many, many Republicans who do not agree with everything that the Tea Party or the very far right hold dear. Many who have friends who are *** and who they agree should have parity with others in their rights. Many who would never dream of forcing a woman who has been raped or one who's life would be endangered to carry that pregnancy to term. Many who believe that abortion is wrong but who do not think that they or the government or the courts should decide for every woman. There are also quite a few Republicans who are not Christians. They and many who are Christians are uneasy about the current "church party" approach of the most influential Republicans of today. Some Republicans are poor or middle class and resend the increasing class spread. Others are rich but believe they should be paying more taxes (for example, Warren Buffet, who is one of the 5 richest people and has pointed out that it is wrong that his secretary has a higher tax rate than he does).
