The True Heroes of Ebola - Fashola Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has said that the true heroes behind Nigeria’s success in curtailing the spread of Ebola Virus Disease are not those campaigning across the country. In his Independence Day address in Lagos, Wednesday, Mr. Fashola said that credit should not be taken away from the health workers who helped curtailed the virus. At various rallies across Nigeria, ruling party politicians have continued to cite Nigeria’s success on the virus as among the achievements of President Goodluck Jonathan and the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party. “I have heard some stories emanating from campaign podiums with claims of conquering Ebola,” said Mr. Fashola. “The question we must ask is whether those who make these claims saw Ebola? “It is women like Stella Ameyo Adedevoh to whom such a claim rightly belongs. “It is young Nigerians like Dr. Morris Ibeawuchi, who first made contact with the index case patient and continued to treat him who saw a ...

Sierra Leone, the land that we love; the land that stretch fort her hands to welcome unknown strangers; the land of plenty, and the land built on hope. While we celebrate our independence we hope; while we breath, we hope, because we are a hopeful people. We have been through a lot, but we hope for a better future. Why we hope, because hope is that thing inside us that insist, despite all evidence to the contrary, we can make it if we try. We are a people of faith that wisdom inspires; we are a people of zeal that never tires, because of our unyielding believe to the four words that binds us together, "land that we love." Happy Independence day!
Happy Independence day to our beloved nation Sierra Leone (May Lord bestow peace, love and happiness upon all us) So, we all said. High we exalt thee, realm of the free; Great is the love we have for thee; Firmly united ever we stand, Singing thy praise, O native land.
