As for the Republicans, they deserve our censure. Failure to have a plan regarding climate change is as irresponsible as going into battle without a plan. Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte were among six senators who sent a letter this week to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. The letter urges the two Senate leaders to press for bipartisan alternative budget proposals between now and election day in November. It was also signed by Sens. John Mccain, R-Ariz., Carl Levin, D-Mich., Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I.
