It’s crazy that Shaun White and Shani Davis still have potential to win Gold medals
Amidst so many disappointments in Sochi I'm not sure which was the biggest: men's hockey team, women's hockey team, men's Speed Skating team, Shaun White, Bode Miller, Shani Davis, etc.
First Shaun White, then Shani Davis, followed by the US Womens Maple Leaf like collapse with 2 mins left in the final, and now US Hockey ugh
After these 2 hockey losses to Canada, Shaun White failing, and Shani Davis not medaling, the Olympics are a disappointment for me.
And the U.S. women's hockey team blows it AGAIN...but seriously, did ANYONE on our Olympic team train for these at all? Shaun White, choke..Shani Davis, choke, figure skaters, bobsledders, choke, choke, choke. Oh well, guess we'll have to wait for Rio to crush the world in the sports that matter lol smh
It's been a Winter Olympics of new records - we've seen the first ever British Olympic medal on snow, legends like Shaun White in the half-pipe and Shani Davis in the speed-skating have been usurped by younger contenders and we've witnessed the first Olympic shared gold in Alpine skiing. The network behind the Games has also delivered its share of records: the first time IPTV has been used to transmit live TV feeds to the Olympic family over the games network, the first time wireless network traffic has outnumbered wired traffic at a Winter Games and the first fabric-connected network to be deployed at an Olympic event. While all this is very exciting, you may be wondering how Sochi 2014 relates to the businesses which make up the vast majority of Avaya's customers. In reality there are many parallels between the average business network and that of these Olympic Winter Games. Regardless of the scale and profile of the project, organisations of all sizes face many of the same challenges and therefore shou ...
Boy Team USA has had some overhyped fails this time around...Shaun White, Shani Davis, and Lindsey Jacobellis. Good thing we've had some surprises or this could have been a super disappointment.
The Olympics grind on. There are flashes of genuine excitement; but the feeling I’m watching people have peak moments in their lives while huddled on a couch in a darkened room fed intravenously with the repetitive and soul numbing commercials is turning the experience into a marathon of endurance in which spikes of pure pleasure are difficult to come by. The USA seems long in the tooth at these games - heroes from four years ago have become also-runs and dropped down the standings: Shaun White, Shani Davis, Bode Miller, Julia MancusoBob Costas has pink eye, the under armour Speed Skating suits don’t work, the snow is melting in the mountains and even the terrorists haven’t shown up. In order not to see results in contests that have been decided in a time zone nine hours earlier than eastern America I avert my head from the rest of the worlds news. If the NYTimes must post the results on the front page then I will cancel my subscription. Rival television channels take impish delight in pricking ...
Just putting this out there: I've won as many Olympic medals since 2011 as Shani Davis, Shaun White, and Lindsey Vonn combined.
Saw this headline on the morning news: Shani Davis joins Shaun White and Bode Miller as American disappointments in Sochi. Good grief!! These men made it to the Olympics. They represented their country with style and smiled in the face of defeat. If there is an Olympian who I'd like my kids to look up to, it would be Shaun White. Not because he's won medals but because he knows how to lose with grace. My mom likes to say, "The sun don't shine on the same dog's *** every day." Wish American media would shove their negativity up theirs.
Shani Davis and Shaun White were both trying to get a 3rd gold medal in their events and neither medaled at all. Unbelievable.
pick up your game. So many fav. going down. Shaun White, Bode Miller, Julia Mancuso and Shani Davis. Several missed Gold medals.
American favorites -- Bode Miller, Shani Davis, Shaun White, Julia Mancuso, Kelly Clark -- are having rough sledding in Sochi, as they fall short of their medals goals. But room at the top is being made for new faces -- like Kaitlyn Farrington and her surprise gold in the women's halfpipe yesterday. She did a great job of navigating the difficulties of the controversial pipe.
I've found several American athletes to be hard to root for this year (Bode Miller, Shani Davis, Shaun White to name a few)
Finally catching up on some Olympic action on DVR..finally a medal in Womens' Single Luge..and I swear that one German girl was or is a dude..and wow Shaun White and Shani Davis not on the podium..that a little disappointing and how does a Snowboarder from Australia take the the Gold in Womens' Halfpipe?
Finally got saturated with the Winter Olympics. Just seeing highlights now. A recurring theme for an oldie like me is the failure of the Three peat oldie stars like Shani Davis, Shaun White and the pulling out of Plushenko due to injury. I guess all good things must come to an end. Sweet sorrow. Getting too sentimental. :)
How do arguably the 2 best American Winter Olympians of our time, Shaun White and Chicago's own Shani Davis not get a medal?? Shani was the reason why I enjoy watching Speed Skating in the Olympics. Well, at least we got a US hockey team with J Quick and Patrick Kane that likes to whoop that behind!
Down goes Shaun White & Shani Davis! This Olympics is starting to be fun. With no Lindsey Vonn and the surfboarding competition almost over, we can finally start cheering on our favorites! U S A U S A U S A
does Shani Davis, Bode Miller, or Shaun White have any events left?

The United States is in the process of having one of the worst Olympic Games in a long time. It's really getting embarrassing. - Shaun White had a chance to be the first male athlete from any nation to win a gold medal in the same event in three consecutive Olympics. In the Men's Snowboard Halfpipe event, he under-rotated the most difficult trick in the sport right now, and finished in 4th, failing to secure a medal. - Shani Davis had the same chance in the Men's Speed Skating 1000m race, which he won in 2006 and 2010. He had a horribly underwhelming performance, and finished in 8th place. No medal. He also performed poorly in the 500m. No medal there. He still has the 1500m to race, but if the 500 and the 1000 are any sign of what's to come, it won't be pretty. - Hannah Kearney had a chance to be the first ever freestyle skier to win gold in two consecutive Olympics. She came up short, but was at least able to bring home a bronze medal. - Body Miller is an elder statesman in men's alpine skiing, and even ...
Shaun White and Shani Davis are out of the Olympics and America turns off the until 2016.
Yesterday, Josh Levin and I wrote about why snowboarders hate Shaun White. Today, as part of Slate’s ongoing series on how athletes feel about other athletes, I want to talk about American speedskater Shani Davis, and why speedskaters love him. White and Davis have a lot in common. Both men...
Would like to see Shani Davis & Shaun White perform Meryl Davis & Charlie White's free dance. Wouldn't you?
Julia Mancuso, Shaun White, Shani Davis, and Bode Miller all have been disappointments in the step it up
I think you learn more about athletes in defeat than in victory. Shani Davis and Shaun White were good & graceful in defeat this week.
I'm still depressed that Shaun White and Shani Davis didn't three peat 😒
Dismal showing for the USA this time around. No Gold Medals for Shaun White, Shani Davis, Julia Mancuso or Bode Miller...
We had some upsets in Sochi.. Shaun White, Shani Davis, and now an injury to Arielle Gold.. Not good.I have to check what is happening with women's hockey? Is Canada up?
Doubles luge. Weirdest "sport" ever. Never listen to the commentaries...just don' makes it even more difficult to take seriously. The Winter Olympics are quite odd altogether. I love em, but American football should be in there somewhere. ;) (hey, the Summer Olympics have soccer...) My honeys, Shaun White & Shani Davis didn't medal, so now I'm just watching to pass the time. Plus side...I've gotten to see a lot of Apolo Ohno. :D Ok. Done rambling. Back to doubles luge. Peace...
It's hard to three-peat, Joe Posnanski writes. Shaun White showed it. Seth Wescott never made. And Shani Davis, on Wednesday, just didn't have it
Bode Miller, Shaun White, and now Shani Davis! What's going on that the guys we're expecting to blow everyone out of the water aren't even making the podium?!
Midweek thoughts from a mixed up mind I have been enjoying the Olympics. Though that they are in Russia I hate that you know everything by time I get home. Hasn't been the best so far for team USA with Bode Miller, Shaun White and Shani Davis all failing to medal Tomorrow starts US men's hockey which I'll record and watch Did think it was cool to hear Santana in the pairs ice skating. Also got to hear the theme from James Bond I like that they are jazzing it up a bit. The US pairs she is 5'0 and he is 6'4. Talk about height difference I've also got into curling as well even though the US teams are not very good I'm rooting for women British team. They are cute and have Scotish accents 😄 I still can't believe that someone actually made T-shirts after the KSU win over KU. At least it's not the athletic dept that did it KSU played better that night but KU is better team and should go further in NCAA Sounds like all the snow this wknd is going to turn to mud though I'll be happy with the warmer weathe ...
Shaun White, Shani Davis, Kate Hansen, and Bode Miller...disappointment! Wish Apolo Ohno was competing in Sochi!
Winter Olympic news yesterday mainly took place in the mountains, as Shaun White's bid for a 3rd straight Gold in the half pipe didn't go well. But Erin Hamlin won the 1st medal, she got bronze, of any US singles luge athlete in the 50 years luge has been an Olympic sport! In about an hour here-6p Sochi time, Shani Davis goes for his 3rd consecutive Olympic Gold in the Men's Speed Skating 1000 meter race. Let's go Shani, and way to go Erin! No matter what the medal color, or if any, you're all champions! Here's a look at the mountain village of Krasnaya Polyana near where all the action took place last night.
