2011: United 1 City 6 Even the most optimistic of City fans couldn’t have been expecting this scoreline when the Blues visited Old Trafford in 2011. On a glorious afternoon, Roberto Mancini’s men inflicted a humiliating defeat on Manchester United as they ran rampant on the Reds’ own turf. Mario Balotelli was quick off the mark with the opening goal, and after Jonny Evans was dismissed the Blues couldn’t stop scoring. A second for Balotelli, a Sergio Aguero strike, plus a late goal for David Silva and a brace for Edin Dzeko ensured that neither set of fans would forget this one in a hurry…
Edin Dzeko Off To Borussia Dortmund. Deal Agreed Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal to sign Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko in the summer, according to reports in Germany. The Bosnian hitman gave a green light to the move a fortnight ago, by admitting he’d love to return to the Bundesliga, and a transfer is said to have been negotiated in the last few days. Dortmund had made signing a top class centre forward their priority for the summer, with Robert Lewandowski refusing to sign a new contract, and Dzeko was always their preferred choice. It’s thought that Dortmund will pay around £20million for the 26-year-old, who is a proven goalscorer in Germany, having scored 66 goals in 111 games for Wolfsburg before joining City in 2011. Dzeko failed to quite hit those heights in the Premier League, with injuries and competition from the likes of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and even Mario Balotelli restricting his game time. His move to Dortmund could well see Poland international Lewandowski head the ot ...
There are some players who take their time to bed into a new club and get familiar with the strange surroundings they find themselves faced with. Then there is another type of player – one who is able to carry over good form wherever he goes, hitting the ground running and instantly endearing himself to his new club’s fans. Didier Drogba did just that last night for Galatasaray, scoring with a brilliant header and setting up another in his first game for the Turkish club. Just a few weeks ago, Mario Balotelli scored twice on his debut for AC Milan, including a last-minute winning penalty. So with that in mind, take a look at the best ever debut performances. Sergio Aguero, Manchester City v Swansea Most Manchester City fans believe that the £38 million the Citizens spent on Sergio Aguero was more than worth it; his one Premier League-winning goal against QPR last season means he has more than paid off his sizeable fee already. But before then, the Argentinian from Atletico Madrid demonstrated his hug ...
LONDON, Feb 3 (Reuters) - European soccer's big-name strikers enjoyed contrasting fortunes as Mario Balotelli enjoyed a scoring debut for AC Milan to share the spotlight with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo who had weekends to forget. Prolific Messi scored again for La Liga leaders Barcelona, although his side were held by Valencia, but Ronaldo put through his own net as Real Madrid's slim La Liga title hopes faded further with defeat at Granada. ENGLAND Manchester United stretched their lead at the top of the Premier League to nine points after a 1-0 win at Fulham and Manchester City's 2-2 home draw with Liverpool. Wayne Rooney's superb controlled finish after 79 minutes at Craven Cottage was enough for battling United to seal a vital win over Fulham. City had Sergio Aguero to thank for their point after the Argentine scored a magical goal from an acute angle. Edin Dzeko had given the hosts the lead, only for Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard to hit back in style for the Reds. Third-placed Chelsea l ...
MATCH PREVIEW Incredibly, the sale of Mario Balotelli means the reigning champions have virtually balanced their books in transfer dealings this season. But has Roberto Mancini got it right in depending on the current squad to retain the title? Balotelli's departure will leave a more harmonious dressing room. It'll also leave them short of striking cover at a time when goals have been hard to come by. Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez have just seven between them in the last nine league and cup games. LAWRO'S PREDICTION Image of Mark Lawrenson Mark Lawrenson Football Analyst "This will be a tight game, but there have to be worries over City's defence with Vincent Kompany out injured. If Matija Nastasic is not fit, then Javi Garcia will have to drop into defence again and, if they show any sort of weakness then Luis Suarez will take them apart. "I have to take my hat off to Suarez because he has dropped a little bit deeper since Daniel Sturridge arrived and taken a different role but he has been e ...
THE post-Mario Balotelli era at Manchester City began in lacklustre fashion as it was held to a 0-0 draw at Queens Park Rangers today that prevented it from making up ground on Manchester United. Victory for City would have cut United's lead to just two points, but instead Alex Ferguson's side will tackle Southampton tomorrow with an opportunity to re-open a seven-point lead at the English Premier League summit. The troublesome Italian striker is expected to complete a switch to AC Milan tomorrow, and City could have done with some extra firepower at Loftus Road. An injury to Vincent Kompany obliged the champion to start with Spanish midfielder Javi Garcia at centre-back, but it began with both Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero in attack as they sought to exploit bottom club QPR's defensive frailties. Joleon Lescott blazed an early chance over the crossbar from close range, while Pablo Zabaleta headed against the bar from a David Silva cross and Aguero had a goal ruled out for offside.
La Liga giants lead race for Manchester City star La Liga duo Malaga and Sevilla are interested Manchester City striker John Guidetti, according to reports from Sky Sports. The Swedish international has been linked with a loan move to a number of Premier League clubs recently, with first-team opportunities at the Etihad Stadium limited. ... But, a switch to Spain now appears to be most likely, with Malaga and Sevilla both interested in the 20-year-old. City are believed to be willing to allow Guidetti to leave on a temporary basis in a bid to gain match experience. With the likes of Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli, Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko all competing for a starting spot, the youngster has been pushed aside by manager Roberto Mancini. The player himself is keen on a stint in Spain, although it is thought that a number of Italian sides as well as Newcastle and Sunderland are monitoring the situation. His representatives are believed to be in talks with City to discuss the best option for his developmen ...
Messi shortlisted for Ballon d'Or 29 November 2012 Updated 15:37 GMT Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta have been named on a three-man shortlist for this year's Ballon d'Or prize, Fifa has announced. Messi, 25, has scored 82 goals this calendar year - just three short of the record set by Gerd Mueller in 1972. Real Madrid's former Manchester United player Ronaldo also makes the list, along with Barcelona's Iniesta. Pep Guardiola, Vicente del Bosque and Jose Mourinho are shortlisted for coach of the year. The winners will be announced on 7 January. Manchester United's Wayne Rooney, Britain's sole representative on the initial 23-man list, failed to make it through. His Old Trafford team-mate Robin Van Persie also missed the cut, as did Manchester City trio Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and Yaya Toure. After 50 goals last season in La Liga - including breaking Barcelona's 60-year-old goalscoring record with a hat-trick in a 5-3 win over Granada in March - Messi is expected to win Fifa's pla ...
So yeah I was within 3 metres of Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli today. Standard.
Yet, an interesting sideshow has developed at Manchester City, with Mario Balotelli having a well-publicised bust-up with manager Roberto Mancini in training. As rumours persist that City are considering cutting their losses on the eccentric Italian, GiveMeFootball gives five reasons why keeping the 22-year-old striker at the Etihad Stadium would benefit Manchester City. 1. Undeniable talent If there's one thing we can be certain of, it's that Balotelli is a top quality footballer. He's got 20 league goals in 53 appearances for Manchester City, and bearing in mind that he's fourth-choice striker at a club which boasts the talents of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko, that is a very respectable statistic. Add to that five goals for his national team, 20 goals in the Serie A, and the controversial youngster has started to forge an impressive CV given his age. If that's not enough, then how about the masterclass he provided in the semi-final of Euro 2012, where he single-handedly destroyed tournamen ...

:: TEAM NEWS Man City v WATFORD :: Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero (hamstring) will miss the third-round FA Cup tie against Watford. Striker Mario Balotelli (virus) is available but defenders Aleksandar Kolarov and Maicon (both knee) are out. Watford manager Gianfranco Zola is likely to be without several key players ahead of his side's trip to Etihad Stadium. Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli could return to the side for their FA Cup clash with Watford on Saturday. The Italian has been out of action over the festive period through illness, while his agent Mino Raiola has recently insisted his client will remain with the Premier League champions, with Goal.com revealing AC Milan are preparing a bid to sign the former Inter man. City were hampered by hamstring injury picked up by Sergio Aguero in their 3-0 win over Stoke on New Year’s Day which could see him ruled out for a couple of weeks while Yaya Toure played in his last league game before departing for the Africa Cup of Nations. But assistant manager David Platt told reporters: “Mario’s been back on the training pitch for the past two or three days, it looks as if he’s shifted the illness off. He trained this morning. “The problem Mario had was he was ill, came back, trained, had a relapse with his illness and went back down again. “It looks as though he’s got past that now and he’s ha ...
Edin Dzeko is ready to answer Roberto Mancini’s call for a regular scorer. The Bosnian striker bagged a brace and was only denied a hat-trick when Norwich keeper Mark Bunn got a hand to his second-half strike. Dzeko, 26, was making his first start for Manchester City since their defeat to Borussia Dortmund on December 4. And he formed a lethal partnership with Sergio Aguero, who had a hand in his two goals and bagged one himself. Dzeko took his tally for City to nine goals for the season — despite starting most games on the bench. And he hopes his display against Norwich has done enough to convince City boss Mancini that he deserves to start games ahead of Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli. He said: “The manager gave me the chance to play today and I think I paid him back. “It’s always good when you score with your first chance, especially when it is in the first minute, but every goal I’m happy with. “I saw something in the papers about the forwards not being in form and scoring but we score ...
David Platt tips goal-shy Manchester City to reignite their title defence with a scoring romp. City trail neighbours United by seven points after netting just 34 times — whereas they led the table at the midway point last term when bagging 53 goals. And boss Roberto Mancini labelled his strikeforce as "maybe too soft" after dire finishing led to a 1-0 Boxing Day loss at Sunderland. But assistant Platt feels Mancini was criticising City's lack of a clinical touch — rather than a weakness in his players. Platt said: “I don't think he means soft — sometimes it can be lost in translation. "In the last few games we have produced enough efforts on goal but we should be scoring more. “These things have a habit of balancing out over the season." Platt admits front four Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli will be "disappointed" with their goal return so far. He added: "Goalscorers go through barren spells — we’re just unfortunate they’re all having one at the same time. "But ...

Roberto Mancini will gamble on the fragile temper of Mario Balotelli for the Manchester derby. Sources close to the Manchester City manager indicated that he will start with Balotelli up front, partnered by Sergio Aguero. The source said: 'Mancini is going for the pairing he believeswill cause most damage to United if they arein form.
Manchester City vs Manchester United Derby To Bring Excitement Manchester City will start favourite to win the Manchester derby against arch rivals United on Sunday, although both sides have failed to impress in recent outings. The Manchester United vs Manchester City game will be live on Fox Soccer 2Go starting at 8:30 AM ET. Manchester United enter the derby three points ahead of City, but many are backing Roberto Mancini’s team to beat the Red Devils at the Etihad Stadium and return to the top of the league. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side has been struggling to keep clean sheets recently and his backline will again be tested by a very powerful Manchester City frontline that will include Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli. The defending champions did the double over their rivals last year and netted seven goals in the two Premier League clashes, including a 6-1 thumping of the then champions at Old Trafford. Manchester City are yet to lose a game in the Barclays Premier League this season and ...
85. Mario Balotelli comes on for Sergio Aguero. He scored here last season. Can he do it again with time ticking away?
Mario Balotelli's agent insists the striker is not looking for a way out of Manchester City and intends to honour his contract. Speculation regarding the Italy international's future has intensified on the back of his omission from City's matchday squad for Sunday's 2-1 victory over Tottenham. Balotelli was forced to watch on from the stands as fellow forwards Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko found the target for the reigning Premier League champions. It is now being suggested that the 22-year-old forward is ready to cut short his time in England and head home, with former employers Inter Milan said to be keen on reacquiringhis services. Balotelli is, however, contracted to City until June 2015 and his representative claims his client will see out that deal and force his way back into Roberto Mancini's plans. "There's no Italy and no plans to go there," said Mino Raiola. "He'll work until the end of his contract. He doesn't want to leave. "There's no player happy with not playing in a game, but he accepts it. ...
Roberto Mancini will not face disciplinary action after confronting the referee following his side's controversial 2-2 Champions League draw with Ajax. UEFA have confirmed that the incident was not reported by either Danish referee Peter Rasmussen or their match delegate at the Etihad Stadium. Mancini came onto the field after a stormy final few minutes in which Sergio Aguero had a goal disallowed and Mario Balotelli had a penalty appeal turned down. A UEFA spokesperson said: "Nothing was reported neither by the delegate nor by the referee. No disciplinary proceedings are opened."
Wayne Rooney is the only England star nominated for the Ballon D’Or. But FIFA’s 23-man list was a slap in the face for Chelsea, who do not have one nominee despite their first-ever European Cup triumph. Only Didier Drogba made the list — and he left Last Summer. Three-time winner Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo also made the cut. Manchester City had Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and Mario Balotelli nominated following their title triumph. Rooney’s United team-mate Robin Van Persie was listed for his goalscoring exploits with Arsenal before his transfer. Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo is a contender for manager of the year alongside City’s Roberto Mancini and United’s Alex Ferguson. FIFA will reveal the final shortlist for each category on November 29. Read more:

While the Premier League is responsible for six of the names on the shortlist, La Liga leads the way with 12 representatives. Joe Hart produced a goalkeeping masterclass as Mario Balotelli's last-gasp penalty earned Manchester City a fortunate point against Borussia Dortmund. The England international produced a host of breath-taking saves at the Etihad Stadium to keep his side in their Group D contest with the German champions. Hart was only beaten in the 62nd minute when substitute Jack Rodwell's awful blind pass allowed Marco Reus to burst through and fire the Bundesliga side into the lead. City had created plenty of openings in an end-to-end first period, but were second best after the interval and only numerous stops from their No.1 prevented the game being over long before the final whistle. And with time running out, referee Pavel Kralovec handed them a lifeline when he penalised Neven Subotic when Sergio Aguero's shot struck his arm from point-blank range, with Balotelli keeping his cool to send the excellent Roman Weidenfeller the wrong way. The score could easily have been 3-3 at half-time,but was not due to the brilli ...

Manchester City 1-1 Borussia Dortmund: Ice cool Balotelli rescues precious Champions League point for Mancini’s men The Italian substitute and goalkeeper Joe Hart are the heroes for the English champions as they struggle to contain the outstanding Bundesliga holders. For Roberto Mancini, there continues to be no sign of improvement to an increasingly desperate Champions League record. The Italian cut a frustrated figure at Etihad Stadium as Manchester City needed an 89th-minute Mario Balotelli penalty to draw 1-1 against an excellent Borussia Dortmund side.Substitute Balotelli, who had only been on the pitch for eight minutes, stroked home the spot-kick with ice-cool precision after Neven Subotic had been harshly penalised for hand-balling a Sergio Aguero volley. It came after Dortmund had created a glut of excellent opportunities only to be denied by a Joe Hart masterclass in goal. Balotelli, forced to watch last week's Champions League defeat against Real Madrid from the stands at Santiago Bernabeu after being omitted from Mancini's match-day squad, was involved for just five minutes against Arsenal, introduced as an 85th-minute replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri looks set to miss Sunday's Premier League match with former club Arsenal. Nasri strained his hamstring during the 3-2 Champions League defeat at Real Madrid, but forwards Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli are available. Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is again sidelined by an ankle injury so Vito Mannone will continue in goal. The game will come too soon for Jack Wilshere and Emmanuel Frimpong, who are back in training after long lay-offs. Nasri, who moved from Arsenal to City Last Summer in a £25m deal, is not expected to be sidelined for long. City manager Roberto Mancini said: "I do not think he will be ready for Sunday. We will try but it is difficult. I hope he will be okay for next week."
Come kick-off, the cameras will train their lenses on the vast array of talent on the field - Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Mesut Ozil,Karim Benzema,Iker Casillas,Sergio Ramos,Angel Di Maria,Luka Modric, Sammy Khedira, kaka, gonzalo Higuain ,Yaya Toure, David Silva,Sergio Aguero,Carlos Tevez,Edin Dzeko,Mario Balotelli,Samir Nasri,Gareth Barry,Vincent company,Maicon,Gael Clichy - the list goes on. But the dynamic in the dugout is likely to be just as compelling.

Fox Soccer reports Sergio Aguero could make Manchester City return against Stoke; Mario Balotelli good to go. ...
Roberto Mancini has said Mario Balotelli is fit to return for Manchester City after his eye operation. Balotelli, 21, had laser eye surgery in his native Italy but is in contention to face Stoke City on Saturday and then Real Madrid in Tuesday's Champions League clash. "Mario is ok. Mario now sees everything," said his manager, who also hopes Sergio Aguero can figure at the Britannia Stadium.
Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli nearing a return for Manchester City:
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has warned Mario Balotelli it is time to grow up as he considers handing the controversial striker a recall when the champions face Liverpool on Sunday. With City striker Sergio Aguero sidelined for at least three weeks after the Argentine suffered a knee injury against Southampton last week, Balot...
Laptop insurance - because accidents happen!
Man Utd have Rooney, we have Sergio Aguero, Man Utd have RVP, we have Carlos Tevez, Man Utd have Welbeck, we have Mario Balotelli! No fear!
The four first-team strikers currently at the club – Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko – will all stay.
i wish Manchester City would attempt to sign Hulk. i think Dzeko should leave & Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli should stay.
Why I love Super Mario Balotelli Why always me? Mario Balotelli reacts to his controversial position in the Goal.com 50 Dear Goal.com, Thirteenth? Excuse me? I should introduce myself. My name is Mario Balotelli. You apparently have not heard of me, since you have listed me only as an afterthought in your Goal.com 50. Perhaps, when you were compiling this list of the world's best footballers, you were concentrating very *** an absorbing game of beach volleyball on the television. Perhaps you were distracted by a passing fly. Whatever you were doing, you were not watching football. I play for Manchester City. Did you know that? My club won the Premier League last season. This is a league containing the talented likes of Mario Balotelli, so to win it is quite some achievement, and I did so despite being in the same team as notorious hothead Mario Balotelli. That, I am told, requires mental strength. Unless you were in some kind of week-long drunken stupor, you should recall the events of October 23, 201 ...
Man City striker Tevez taunts: My favourite goals? Everytime we score against Man Utd! Manchester City ace Carlos Tevez has taken a new dig at Manchester United. On TV with City teammate Sergio Aguero, Tevez was asked about his favourite goals. "What is my favorite goal? All the goals I've scored against United," laughed Tevez, who was also asked about his favourite super hero. "That has to be Mario Balotelli!" My Take Not ur fault.
Man City = Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko are in the 1st team. 2nd half Carlos Tevez plays. Unless injury Mario Balotelli never plays.
Mario Balotelli - assisted to striker Sergio Aguero, in the 94th minute, to make Man City, Premier League winners. Scores two goals to throw Germany out of Euro. I just love to hate him !!
UVioO In one of the most thrilling games of the season, Manchester City needed two goals in stoppage time to take their first Premier League title in 44 years. City's hopes remained alive when Edin Dzeko scored off a corner from David Silva. Moments later, Mario Balotelli fed Sergio Aguero, who secu...

Manchester City scored twice in stoppage-time to clinch their first league title since 1968 with a 3-2 win over QPR, who avoided relegation regardless. A quite incredible season ended in the most dramatic way possible, with City snatching victory from the jaws of what seemed certain to become the most disastrous defeat imaginable. Second-half goals from Djibril Cisse and Jamie Mackie, either side of a ridiculous Joey Barton red card, seemed to have turned the entire season on its head. But with the game entering five minutes of stoppage time, City produced a finish equally as memorable as that of Manchester United inthe 1999 Champions League final. That United should be denied just made the joy so much sweeter, as first Edin Dzeko nodded the Blues level before Sergio Aguero collected Mario Balotelli's return pass and drove home the goal that crowned City champions.
Sergio Aguero? - £38 million. Edin Dzeko? - £27 million. Mario Balotelli? - £20 million. Watching United fans getting stung in the last minute when they thought they had the title won? - Priceless.
Sergio Aguero 38 million, Edin Dzeko 27million. Mario Balotelli 20 million. watching Man u fans in the last min, priceless.
Manchester City FC is presently the Barclays Premier League Champions. Thanks 2 Roberto Mancini for introducing Mario Balotelli. The Notorious and skilful CITY Striker. 2 goals in extra time. The saving Goal came from Sergio Aguero, the CITY best skipper
I'm just watching replays of Sergio Aguero's winner - I didn't give Mario Balotelli any credit in the madness of the moment, but he did brilliantly in the build-up to toe the ball through a crowded box and in to Aguero's path. He and Edin Dzeko had a major impact coming off the bench. That's why it pays to have such heavy artillery on the bench.
Edin Dzeko equalised in the second added minute before Sergio Aguero scored the deciding goal in the fourth minute of injury-time in an extraordinary end to the season. Pablo Zabaleta’s first goal of the season after 39 minutes gave City the lead but it had looked as if they had imploded after Djibril Cisse equalised three minutes after the break and Jamie Mackie had given the visitors the lead on 66 minutes. QPR were already down to 10 men at that point after Joey Barton was sent-off for elbowing Carlos Tevez, and ugly scenes following the red card saw five minutes of injury time. And having held on for 25 minutes with a stoic backs to the wall performance, Rangers then saw substitute Dzeko power home a close range header. And as Manchester United’s players and fans waited at the Stadium of Light with their 1-0 win over Sunderland sealed, Aguero danced into the area and fired a shot past Paddy Kenny at the near post. Both City and United finished with 89 points but Roberto Mancini's side were eight-g ...
Today's Footy at The Bear Newcastle United v Manchester City (Kick-off 1.30pm). The first of this afternoon's double bill of Premier League encounters comes from St James' Park. The visitors start the match top of the table on goal difference and victory here would effectively leave them one win away from the title. The Citizens recorded a 3-1 win in the reverse fixture, with Mario Balotelli, Micah Richards and Sergio Aguero scoring the goals, before Dan Gosling netted a consolation for the Magpies
PROBABLE LINEUPS Manchester City Hart Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy Y Toure, Barry Silva, Tevez, Nasri Aguero Manchester United De Gea Smalling, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra Valencia, Carrick, Scholes, Nani Rooney, Welbeck Manchester City look set to welcome back Micah Richards from injury, while striker Mario Balotelli is also available having completed his three- match ban after his sending off against Arsenal. However, given their recent form manager Roberto Mancini is expected to continue with Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez up front. Manchester United, meanwhile, have few absentees other than long- term injury victims Nemanja Vidic, Darren Fletcher and Anderson. Nani, who injured an ankle in training, and Jonny Evans are both doubts, but are expected to be fit for the clash. However, after watching his side throw away a 4-2 lead against Everton last weekend, Sir Alex Ferguson may decide to shake-up his starting XI. Chris Smalling is being tipped to get the nod ahead of Rafael at right-back while in mid ...
Mario Balotelli is the most efficient goal scorer in the League. Sergio Aguero & Edin Dzeko also make the top 6.
Roberto Mancini has turned to Mario Balotelli to play in place of Sergio Aguero against Sunderland and Carlos Tevez bench tinz..
And, without Sergio Aguero, Roberto Mancini does not exactly have a lot to choose from up front. Edin Dzeko has gone off the boil, Carlos Tevez is half-fit and as for Mario Balotelli? "I don't trust Mario. No-one trusts Mario,"
Much as most of you do praise Mario Balotelli as a better player but for me he never be a good player not even in my top ten list of world strikers.A professional footballer should demonstrate maturity both on & off the pitch.Even when it comes to talent he can't beat Robin Van Persie,Wayne Rooney,Sergio Aguero,Carlos Tevez..Discipline is what makes a good player
