The only seed Serena Williams could face before the quarterfinals: No.16 Sam Stosur.
Serena Williams hits the highs, Sam Stosur hits the lows
People still defending Serena Williams by attacking Sam Stosur. Doing the same thing to one they're mad is done to the other.
I don't hear people talk about Sam Stosur body like the same way they talk about Serena Williams. I wonder why?
Novak Djokovic and Venus Williams dominated, Serena Williams defeated a familiar foe in Vera Zvonareva and Victoria Azarenka found her old form while former US Open champs Sam Stosur and Lleyton Hewitt suffered upsets on an eventful Day 4 at the

The *** here with tonight's Rd.3 French Open tips Bit of value floating around with the seeded players now running into each other meaning more competitive matches. Here are my best bets for tonight: *Tommy Robredo ($1.50)- Despite being lower ranked than John Isner he loves this surface and Isner doesn't.. Isner will have to tee of and make everything to win. *Jo Wilfired Tsonga ($1.18)- Playing well and too much class for Janowics. *Dominka Cibulkova ($2.50)- She is ranked higher than our own Sam Stosur and is in form but is somehow paying $2.50. Stosur will have to play her best to win here.. -Cibulkova 2 sets to 1 is paying $5- also very good odds. *Mugurusa ($1.30)- This young Spaniard dismantled Serena Williams so based on that should ease past her unseeded opponent. *Novak Djokovic- He is paying $1.30 to win 3 sets to 0 against Marin Cilic and based on the way he is playing, this should be no problem. VALUE BETS *Cibulkova ($2.50) *Cibulkova 2 sets to 1 ($5) *Robert Bautista Agut ($2.80)- The muc . ...
Sean's Report 2014 French Open The second Grand Slam of the year has seen the first major upset with No. 3 seed Stan Wawrinka crashing out in the first round. The Australian Open champion lost to Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 4-6, 7-5, 2-6, 0-6 and dished up 62 unforced errors. Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer easily progressed to the second round each recording straight sets wins. On the women's side Maria Sharapova continued her great form on clay with a 6-1, 6-2 thumping over compatriot Ksenia Pervak. Defending champion Serena Williams also progressed with a win over French youngster Alize Lim. Aussie fans will be pleased as Sam Stosur won her first round clash but Ash Barty and Nick Kyrgios unfortunately bowed out. :)
Daniel Island's Shelby Rogers will play 10AM on Stadium court tomorrow, Venus Williams follows her, then Sam Stosur, Serena Williams at night
Tennis - Indian tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi has announced that his international tennis league will kick off in November this year, will feature 5 cities and star a host of big names. Bhupathi also said that there will be a player auction in March. The cities that will own the franchises are Mumbai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore — and a yet to be determined city in the Mid East. Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer, Andy Murray, Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Victoria Azarenka, Li Na, Caroline Wozniacki and Sam Stosur are some of the names who have expressed interest in the league. Speaking to The Economic Times, Bhupathi commented, "It's five sets, men's singles, men's doubles, women's singles, mixed doubles, legends singles. No particular order. The home team gets to pick the order on the night of the match. One set, no-ad scoring, tiebreaker at 5-All. The winning team is the one to win the most number of games at the end of the day, not the number of sets." "Owners have the freedom to c ...
If you're looking forward to the tennis from Australian tonight (or today), we're hoping the heat won't cause suspension of play again today. The forecast is not vey optimistic, however. But there are some enticing prospective matches on the roofed courts, if worst comes to worst. Serena Williams leads the way on Rod Laver Arena, taking on Daniela Hantuchova. David Ferrer v. Jeremy Chardy will follow, and local player Casey Dellacqua will then play Jie Zheng. Over on Hisense Arena, American Alison Riske will try to take down the no. 9 seed Angelique Kerber. Li Na should be able to cope with Lucie Safarova, but Tomas Berdych may face a challenge from the talented Damir Dzumhur. If you're up late (or early), Ana Ivanovic is scheduled against local favorite Sam Stosur on Rod Laver Arena in the night session, followed by Novak Djokovic v. Denis Istomin, In the night session on Hisense, Tommy Robredo will play Richard Gasquet in a match that could be a long-drawn out affair between two veterans. And doubles ge ...
Sam Stosur sure looks like she's in form to tough it through Serena Williams again for a second Major. She's so feminine at the same time!
Ozzie Open Day 3: Home favourite Sam Stosur through, Serena Williams and Djokovic also comfortably into round 3. Bit of a surprise win was American Sam Querry beating Ernests Gulbis. In the mens dubs, Brit pair Ross Hutchins and Colin Fleming won through to the 2nd rnd-this is after Hutchins missed the entire 2013 season having being diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Well. that didn't take long. Serena Williams wins 6-2, 6-1. Looking at the draw, if she wins in round two and another Australian (Sam Stosur) winds her 2nd round match, they would play in the 3rd round. Now, at 3:26am, how do we get back to sleep? Maybe an espresso instead! Please try one at C+F with the brilliant Longshot Coffee that we so proudly serve. You'll love it!
Day 1 of the Australian Open is over as is the campaigns of Jarmila Gajdasova who is yet to win a match after her 9th open and Ashleigh Barty who was routinely dispatched by world number 1 Serena Williams and Jordan Thompson won the first 2 sets against 20th seed Jerzy Janowicz of Poland but faded badly to meekly surrender the remaining 3 sets and Sam Groth who fell to 28th seeded Canadian Vasek Pospisil. On the winners list were 17th seeded Sam Stosur who avenged her loss in Hobart to Czech Klara Zakapalova, Casey Dellacqua who outclassed former world number 2 Vera Zvonareva and Matthew Ebden who proved too good for Frenchman Nicholas Mahut in 5 sets.

Defending Australian Open men's singles champion Novak Djokovic and women's world No.1 Serena Williams are the headline acts at Rod Laver Arena on the opening night session of the 2014 tournament. The order of play has been released for the first day of play at Melbourne Park, and features the night session of Djokovic versus Lukas Lacko, followed by Williams' challenge from Australian wildcard Ashleigh Barty. The day session on centre court sees two Aussies in action as German ninth seed Angelique Kerber faces local hopeful Jarmila Gajdosova, while Sam Stosur later takes stage against Czech player Klara Zakopalova. The Stosur match follows a men's first-round clash between Spain's world No.3 David Ferrer and Colombian Alejandro Gonzalez. At Hisense Arena on Monday, Stanislas Wawrinka, Li Na and Ana Ivanovic are all in action during the day session, while Australian Jordan Thompson is given a chance to shine as he meets 20th seed Jerzy Janowicz. There is plenty of top-class entertainment on the outside co ...
Who would win a fight between Sam Stosur and Serena Williams?
In the women's draw, World No 1 Serena Williams will play Australian wildcard Ashleigh Barty in the first round as she bids for her 18th Grand Slam title and sixth at Melbourne Park. The American's draw lines her up for a potentially tough fourth-round clash with Sam Stosur, who beat Williams in the final of the US Open in 2011. Double defending champion Victoria Azarenka, seeded second, will take on Swede Johanna Larsson according to the draw released on Friday. Third seed Maria Sharapova will play American Bethanie Mattek-Sands, while fourth seed Li Na, runner-up at MelbournePark last year, will play a qualifier.
Australian Open draw is out and Bernard Tomic must be cursing his luck having drawn top seed Rafael Nadal in the first round. In Form Lleyton Hewitt comes up against 24th seed Andreas Seppi of Italy. Thanasi Kokkinakis had more luck drawing Igor Sijsling of the Netherlands. Marinko Matosevic will play Japans Kei Nishikori who is seeded 16. Nick Kyrgios has drawn German Benjamin Becker. James Duckworth has seed Roger Federer who although appearing vulnerable will be a very tough opponent. Jordy Thompson will play 20th seed Jerzy Janowicz from Poland. Matthew Ebden will play Frenchman Nicholas Mahut while big hitting Sam Groth plays 28th seed Vasek Pospisil of Canada. In the womens draw Ashleigh Barty has lucked out drawing top seeded Serena Williams. 17th seeded Sam Stosur will face the unseeded woman the put out of the Moorilla tournament in Hobart Czech Klara Zakopalova. Jarmila Gajdosova will play 9th seeded German Angelique Kerber. Exciting youngster Storm Sanders has drawn Italian Camila Giorgi. Olivi ...
Ten: Sam Stosur goes OUT in Rd 3 to big-hitting Sabine Lisicki who will now meet Serena Williams in the Rd of 16!
Women's Semi Finals Today Predictions: Pre Tournament favorite Serena Williams who has won 29 matches in a row (count em!) will overpower Italian Sara Errani in 2 sets. Errani upset hard hitting Sam Stosur in last year's semis, but Serena has the upper hand here with a 5-0 record against Errani. In a more dramatic encounter sparks will be flying and the grunt-o-metre will be working overtime when French Open holder Maria Sharapova comes face-to-face with Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka. There is no love lost between these two women. I predict Victoria Azarenka will tip Maria Sharapova in a tight 3 set match. Azarenka has been the more consistent player the past 3 weeks and she is looking to capture her second consecutive Grand Slam title.
Who I want to win the French Open: Roger Federer and Sam Stosur Who I think will win: Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams
A piece from Sam her website (not all) Australian tennis greats Todd Woodbridge and Scott Draper believe Sam Stosur has both the tools and confidence necessary to succeed at the world’s biggest claycourt tournament. With the French Open beginning this week, Stosur arrives with one of the most formidable records at Roland Garros among the 128 women in the draw, having reached the semifinals in three of the past four years, and going all the way to the final in 2010. She’s notched some big scalps along the way in those years, most notably during her 2010 run, which included consecutive victories over four-time champ Justine Henin, top seed Serena Williams and former world No.1 Jelena Jankovic. When play kicks off on Sunday in Paris, Woodbridge believes she’s one of a select few women who can hoist the trophy. Draper, a former world No.42, knows Stosur’s game better than many, having combined with her to win the Australian Open mixed double title back in 2005. He says the fact that Stosur feels very ...
AUSTRALIA'S Sam Stosur and defending champion Agnieszka Radwanska led a parade of top seeds into the Dubai Open quarter-finals today, but Serena Williams withdrew with a back injury.
Day 4 at the Australian Open Tennis and it's total fire ban stuff here at Melbourne Park! 39c outside, on court 49c and it's Aussie Bernard Tomic leading German Daniel Brands 2 sets to 1 and is 5-4 up in the fourth. Serena Williams (3) quashed any injury concerns after demolishing spaniard Garbine Muguruza in straight sets 6-2 6-0 whilst world no.1 Victoria Azarenka eased past Eleni Daniilidou form from Greece 6-1 6-0. Sam Stosur maybe out of the singles but she is still alive in the doubles after teaming up with young German Julia Gorges to def Daniela Hantuchova (SVK) & Anabel Mendina Garrigues (ESP) 6-3 6-1 Whilst the other Aussie in singles contention in the men's draw wild card James Duckworth has tied up the match and taken it to a fifth and deciding set. Duckworth trails 2-1 with players holding serve. On Rod Laver tonight Roger Federer (2) takes on Russia's Nikolay Davydenko, and Petra Kvitova (8) will play Aussie born Brit Laura Robson.

Wimbledon! Serena Williams. Her dress sense is as brutal as as her play. Hellish in prospect. But Anne Keothavong dresses beautifully and times the contact nice as a flower. Like the lovely Sam Stosur!
Why is it players will criticize Sam Stosur & Amelie Mauresmo for "being like a man" but no one is game to criticize Serena Williams ?
