Last night'e episode of "Saturday Night Live" was actually pretty good. Woody Harrelson was a solid host; as he was back in 1992 when he last hosted. It was good to see an episode filled with mostly original ideas and an overall effort by the cast and Woody Harrelson to put on a good show. Woody Harrelson and castmembers Taran Killam and Kate Mckinnon were the best performers of the night. However, the whole cast did fine overall throughout the show. Even "Weekend Update" anchor Colin Jost did a decent job; as a couple of his jokes and even his delivery made me laugh. Thus, a good improvement over Chris Rock's episode; which was a surprising letdown-- mostly due to very weak sketches and not-so-great performances by the cast. I hope Woody Harrelson hosts the show again at some point. He and Jim Carrey have given us the best episodes of the season-- while they and former castmember Bill Hader have been the best hosts so far. Thus, a good show last night. Hopefully, Cameron Diaz's show is good as well. We . ...

Saturday Night Live, which had looked a bit wobbly during the first two episodes of its 40th season, seems to have found its footing with the return of former cast member (2005-2013) Bill Hader.
Bill Hader was back on Saturday Night Live (SNL) as the host on October 11, and he brought along Stefan and another memorable character he played during his years as a cast member, new broadcaster, Herb Welch. While not all of the skits worked as well as the best of them, like the Stefan one […]
Bill Hader returned to Saturday Night Live this weekend as the host for the first time. I loved Bill Hader during his time on SNL so I was very glad to see him return. His opening was ok; he was joined by fellow SNL alum and "The Skeleton Twins" co-star Kristen Wiig and Harvey Fierstein for a singing monologue. The other sketches featuring Hader weren't that bad but I was hoping he would do… [ 94 more words. ]

Saturday Night Live leans on *** characters and situations the way Cinemax relies on fake breasts, and the season finale was no different. Social Media Latest: 'SNL' Is Reclaiming Its Turf via Social Media — Just in Time: If we take online comments as a scaled down version of the world at large, it's clear that 2014 global society is divided on three main topics: religion, climate change and which cast of Saturday Night Live was the best. As it stands, SNL has muscled through its 39th season amidst heavy criticism surrounding both a lack of cast diversity and a sketch model that, at times, seems to ignore contemporary culture. As clutch cast members Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis and Fred Armisen, along with writer John Mulaney, departed before the season's start, the obvious question was whether or not a largely young and inexperienced cast could carry the show to new heights Read more...More about Entertainment, Tv, Television, Social Media, and Features

It's a definite no-no to laugh — or break — while performing a skit on "Saturday Night Live." Former cast member Bill Hader seemed to abandon that rule whenever he played Stefon, a club kid invited on to "Weekend Update" to give his terrible and hilarious ideas for places to go in New York City. Part of the giddiness was the character, Hader explained in an interview. However, writer and friend John Mulaney also tried to make him laugh with last-minute line changes. "Usually I start to break towards the end and that's because John [Mulaney] has changed the words or people are just laughing around me. Everyone's laughing and I just can't keep it together," Hader told the comedy website Splitsider. Mulaney's script surprises weren't just to mess with Hader's head. Saturday Night Live dang neer busted a gut last night. Bill hader is a funny man.

I find it odd that Bill Hader left Saturday Night Live and is doing T-Mobile commercials, and the guy from the AT&T commercials is now part of the SNL cast.
SNL is Back – Can the Show Survive Its All-Star Exodus? Season 39 of Saturday Night Live kicks off tomorrow, and everyone is wondering how the six new cast members are going to do. They’ve got big shoes to fill: SNL vets Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, and Jason Sudeikis all moved on after last season. Most of the new cast members are relatively unknown, but you might recognize Beck Bennett from these AT&T commercials. It will also be interesting to see how “Weekend Update” works with two hosts. Seth Meyers will share hosting duties with second-year cast member Cecily Strong (aka the Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started a Conversation With at a Party) at least until he leaves for Late Night in February. Get excited for tomorrow’s premiere with Tina Fey’s promo clip, and make sure to watch some skits from our old favorites.

The season will utilize more writers instead of primary writer/co-creator Trey Parker, one of which is former Saturday Night Live cast member Bill Hader.

Fred Armisen Won't Return to 'Saturday Night Live' Fred Armisen's time on Saturday Night Live has come to an end. After an 11-year run, the comedian will not be returning to NBC's long-running late-night sketch series, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The funnyman's future with SNL was left in limbo following the May 18 season finale in which the final sketch featured Bill Hader, Armisen, Jason Sudeikis and Taran Killam playing a British rock band saying their goodbyes on the final night of a tour. Armisen's Portlandia co-star, Carrie Brownstein, was among the musicians who joined the group onstage. A Quote from Newsday about Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson: What made Jackson so appealing was his demagoguery against Washington's establishment -- Henry Clay, John Calhoun, James Monroe, Martin Van Buren and Adams -- portraits in buffoonery as painted by Ed Huether, Jeremy Hudson, Tom Meglio, Ronnie Green and Brendan Noble. Although Portraits in buffoonery might seem an insult, it is a very well received compliment as our characters are such you might see in a Saturday Night Live skit performed by the likes of Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, and others. Bill Hader Praises Justin Timberlake, Disses Justin Bieber. The battle of the Justins is on! Bill Hader caught up with Howard Stern on his Sirius XM radio show on Wednesday to talk about his recent departure from "Saturday Night Live" after eight seasons. And while the comedian has worked with his fair share of A-list celebrity guests on "SNL," the shock jock brought up fan favorite, Justin Timberlake. Stern said, "I was very shocked that Justin Timberlake was such a good guest host. Bill agreed and shared his love for the low-maintenance singer saying, "He's great. Also, the guy doesn't show up with anybody. It's just him." The funnyman then launched into a comparison between Timberlake and another famous Justin ... the Biebs! And he didn't exactly have rave reviews for the younger pop star saying, "Justin Bieber showed up with like 20 guys ... He had a guy holding a slice of pizza. A guy holding a Diet Coke. You're trying to fight through all these people to get dressed."

It's not often I can say this, but last night's Saturday Night Live was one of the best in years. Host Justin Timberlake (always a good sign) hosted for the 5th time amidst a slew of cameos (Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin amongst others), classic characters (two wild and crazy guys!!!) and current favs (I about fell out of bed laughing when Bill Hader's "Stefon" said that New York's hottest club was "based on the novel "Push" by Sapphire). Only a couple of duds (The Sober Tales Of Caligula?) but overall the best they've done in awhile. If you're able to, find a way to watch it.
Saturday Night Live is way not funny any more. Hasn't been for a while. The jokes are so crude and tacky. :/
I must admit, I am somewhat of a fuddy-duddy (pun totally intended), when it comes to contemporary music, but Alabama Shakes just blew me away on Saturday Night Live tonight! And like so much of the most wonderful music ever made (jazz and blues and bluegrass), it comes from the American south! BTW, SNL was incredibly funny tonight. Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, and Kenan Thompson are brilliant. Enjoy them while you can, because if history is any indication, they are about ready to go make some really crappy movies!
I just love Saturday Night Live! My favorite is Kristen Wiig, then Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, Kenan Thompson, Jason Sudeikis, Darrel Hammond, Andy Samberg, and Seth Myers. I feel like these guys are my family!!! I just love having them at my fingertips with Netflix any time I want! I love live comedy!

Today's podcast is an interesting and candid chat with Saturday Night Live's Bill Hader (who also writes for South Park) and comic book writer Peter David (Hulk; X-Factor; many many more). Unfortunately (or, lucky for you?) my mic had some problems, so you can barely hear me. Good news is that Bill and Peter are both perfectly audible, and they have lots of good stuff to say. You can infer what was asked, for the most part. Podcast is here: iTunes:

One of Bill Hader's more popular characters on Saturday Night Live is Stefon, Weekend Update’s flamboyant correspondent. Often, writer John Mulaney will change the jokes in a sketch right before the sketch airs. Many of the new lines catch Hader off-guard, making him break character and laugh. Mulaney also often changes the cue cards so that Hader will read something he didn’t expect to read and get a genuine laugh.

There's no doubt that the highlight of the Republican National Convention was Clint Eastwood's conversation with an empty chair he referred to as Barack Obama, so naturally "Saturday Night Live" had to skewer it. You know what worries me? I watch Saturday Night Live, as I rarely do these days, and I notice Bill Hader's on the show. I do a little thinking, and I realize Hader hasn't LEFT the show. Man, it'll be eight seasons this year? It feels like he's been around longer than Fred Armisen. I remember when appearing on SNL for more than seven years was a RARITY. Nowadays, it's an accepted - almost REQUIRED - practice. At least I'm past the stage where I expect this show to be anything more than the weather-beaten *** it currently is. Also, what the *** keeps Armisen on the show? At least Darrell Hammond had the alibi of drug/alcohol abuse.
Saturday Night Live is back, baby! I'll miss Kristen Wiig, but I'm so glad Bill Hader stayed for one more season. :P
