While I talked to my mother yesterday (thank gosh I went ahead and got the replacement phone) I was in tears at the end! She understood while telling me that her mother - (Grandma Kay), had helped her out so often when both mom and dad were working yet unable to provide meals at times. When mom was headed home from work (she worked at the old Yellow Pages bldg in Los Angeles) and had no money to prepare a good meal, she'd head down Myra Avenue (between Santa Monica and Fountain Blvd's) and meet granny as she'd be standing at the curb by the apartment complex she and grandpa managed, while holding a casserole of food for all of us! Learned something new today: When notorious murdering scumbag Boston mobster James "Whitey" Bulger was locked up in the Atlanta Pen during the 1950's for bank robbery, one of the people he asked to be able to write to was Fr. Robert Drinan. Drinan was a Jesuit, pro-abortion Catholic priest who served in the U.S. House (1971-1981), until Pope John Paul II told priests that they could no longer hold public office.
