If you are easily offended by the truth, please read no further: An open letter to Eagle fans from a Cowboy fan of 44 years: We, the Dallas Cowboys and Cowboy fans in the Greater Philadelphia area, apologize vehemently for our victory today. We understand that at this time of the year, your lives and rooting interests revolve around two things only 1) The Eagles endless quest for a Super Bowl title 2) Praying that the Cowboys lose. We continue to not fully understand your hatred for The Boys since, in order, here are Dallas's main rivalries 1) Washington Redskins. 2) New York Giants. 3) San Francisco 49ers. 4) The Ryan family 11) The Philadelphia Eagles And although we are constantly brought to side splitting hysterics with things like Tony *** CowGirls, Jerry pays the refs, Chris Christie is campaigning. we suggest that it's time to look in the mirror and move on. YOU lost to the Skins, costing you a shot at another playoff failure. It is not our fault that you were born on 56th and Passyunk, or tha ...

America's favorite football team is the Denver Broncos. Since 2007, the Dallas Cowboys have topped this Harris Poll as the favorite team of adults who follow professional football. The Cowboys have not only been unseated by the Broncos for the top spot, but also were sacked to fourth place. Coming in at number two in the 2015 rankings are the New York Giants, followed by the Green Bay Packers, according to the Harris Poll of 2,543 adults. All 32 NFL teams, ranked by favorite: 1. 1957 - The board of directors of the New York Giants votes to move the franchise to San Francisco.
'San Francisco's calling us, the Giants and Mets will play. Piazza, New York catcher, are you straight or are you *** '
Here's my full list of baseball teams I will be renaming using the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim nomenclature. Given the current state of world affairs this falls low on the priority, but it was fun to put together. - The Boston Braves of Atlanta (moved to Milwaukee in 1953 then to Atlanta in 1966) - The St. Louis Browns of Baltimore (moved to Baltimore in 1954) - The Philadelphia Athletics of Oakland (moved to Kansas City in 1955 then to Oakland in 1968) - The Brooklyn Dodgers of Los Angeles (moved to LA in 1957) - New York Giants of San Francisco (move to SF in 1957) - The Washington Senators of Minnesota (now the Twins moved to Twin Cities in 1961) - The Washington Senators of Texas (now the Rangers expansion team created in 1961 moved to TX in 1971) - The Seattle Pilots of Milwaukee (now the Brewers moved to Milwaukee in 1970) - The Montreal Expos of Washington (now the Nationals moved to DC in 2005)

Alright folks, as you know, the liberals are wanting to change the mascot name of my most beloved team in the world, The Washington Redskins because they claim its derogatory to native American's by pointing out their skin color. So with that said, I thought I would make a list of changes that other sports franchises should make to maintain "political correctness" NFL, MLB and NBA Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers due to recent gun violence, New York Giants because they are offensive towards midgets New York Jets because jet engines harm the environment Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pittsburgh Pirates because piracy promotes theft Boston Celtics because their mascot is offensive to Irish people Cleveland Indians because "chief wahoo" actually has "Red skin", not to mention big teeth Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Blackhawks and Atlanta Braves because they happen to be native American mascots Cleveland Browns because someone might get the wrong idea about skin color San Francisco ...

On This Date in History, May 28, 1957, National League owners vote unanimously to allow the New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers to move to San Francisco and Los Angeles, respectively, at the mid-season owner’s meeting in Chicago, Illinois. There were, however, conditions attached to the owners’ decision. First, either both teams had to move or neither could, which meant that if one team reconsidered, the other would have to change their plans as well. Second, both teams had to announce their plans before October 1, 1957. In the end, both teams did move: The Giants hosted a farewell party at a game on September 29, and the Dodgers, who had informed the league earlier, formally announced their move on October 8. Although the Giants and Dodgers continued to face each other some 20 times each season, for many the storied rivalry just wasn’t the same. Once just a subway ride away, the teams were now separated by 382 miles. Meanwhile, New York National League meandered for five years without a team, u .. ...

The Job Of An Evangelist In 1990, following a televised Monday night game, eight players from the San Francisco 49ers and eight from the New York Giants knelt together at midfield to pray. The practice was criticized by Sports Illustrated magazine, and NFL officials indicated they might stop it--which they didn't. The practice continues today. Being a witness for Christ means two things: making your faith a matter of public record and making sure your work style is consistent with the gospel. What would it do to the credibility of the gospel if an NFL player used abusive language, took cheap physical shots, and argued disrespectfully with referee rulings...and then knelt down to pray as a Christian after the game? Such a life style in the workplace of a football player would significantly discredit the gospel. The workplace can be a challenge to our spirituality. But Scripture says the way we work and honor our employer brings credit, or discredit, to Jesus Christ. The job of an evangelist is to do his wo ...

Last year's Super Bowl winner had to start the season on the road due to scheduling conflicts with the Baltimore Orioles. But there is no problem for Seattle in 2014. Their Home Games: Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers, St. Louis Rams, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders I doubt the league would start the season with Seattle hosting St. Louis or Oakland, but the other 6 are all good candidates. Who do think will be the Seahawks' opponent to ring in the new season??? And why???
This statistic is not going to change this year. Only 5 NFL teams have won 4 or more Super Bowl Games. They are: Green Bay Packers 4 & 1 New York Giants 4 & 1 San Francisco 49ers 5 & 1 Dallas Cowboys 5 & 3 Pittsburgh Steelers 6 & 2
Elway History: Quarterback John Elway, who played college football at Stanford, arrived in 1983. Originally drafted by the Baltimore Colts as the first pick of the draft, Elway proclaimed that he would shun football in favor of baseball (he was drafted by the New York Yankees to play center field and was also a pitching prospect), unless he was traded to a selected list of other teams, which included Denver.[9] Prior to Elway, Denver had over 24 different starting quarterbacks in its 23 seasons to that point.[10] Elway remained the quarterback through 5 Super Bowls, with the Broncos winning two of them. The Broncos lost Super Bowl XXI to the New York Giants, 39–20; Super Bowl XXII to the Washington Redskins, 42–10; and Super Bowl XXIV to the San Francisco 49ers, 55–10; the latter score remains the most lopsided scoring differential in Super Bowl history. In 1995, the Broncos debuted a new Head Coach, Mike Shanahan, and a new rookie running back, Terrell Davis. In 1996, the Broncos were the top seed ...
Super Bowl Week: After a record breaking season for Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, they had to East Rutherford, New Jersey- MetLife Stadium to take on Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks who have only lost to 3 opponents (Indianapolis Week 5, San Francisco Week 14 and Arizona Week 16). Denver also only lost to 3 opponents this season as well (Indianapolis Week 7, New England Week 12 and San Diego Week 15). Both teams are playing at an extremely high level with solid wins throughout the season against power Football teams including: San Francisco, Kansas City and New England. They both had a difficult schedule in the Regular Season and the Post Season (in order): Carolina , San Francisco, Jacksonville, Houston, Indianapolis, Tennessee, Arizona, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Minnesota, New Orleans, San Francisco, the New York Giants, Arizona and St. Louis. Whereas the Broncos took on: Baltimore, New York Giants, Oakland, Philadelphia, Dallas, Jacksonville, Indianapolis, Washington, San Diego, K ...
Hey look it is 4:20 as I start this (whatever that means) but my life doesn't begin until 5:30 p.m. when the San Francisco 49ers play their final game - and the final sporting event ever to be played - at Candlestick Park, a place that has been around as long as I have, 54 years. Hate to see old friends go, particularly ones you've known all you're life which is the case with The Stick. As we know the New York Giants followed the Brooklyn Dodgers out to the greener pastures of California in 1958 and it is almost comical to read the old San Francisco Chronicle sports sections of back in the day when Candlestick, this "new state of the art" stadium was being built on an absolutely horrific spot, on stinky land fill, surrounded by the bay on one side and one of the state's most dangerous ghettos on the other side. There was a horrible, icy wind that came off the bay, sending papers, cups and all sorts of trash flying about; some flying objects stopping only when they smacked into a ballplayer or customer's f ...
Memories of Candlestick Park. Kezar Stadium was built for football, Seals Stadium for baseball, while Candlestick was built to seal the deal (Mayor Christopher/Horace Stoneham) that brought the New York Giants to San Francisco. The Good: For the 49ers, The "Catch"...the most consecutive 10 win seasons in NFL history...eventual Hall Of Famers, Dave Wilcox, Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, Jerry Rice, Fred Dean, Steve Young, Bill Walsh...5 Super Bowl trophies...tailgating and the Paul Potyen-led 49er Band. For the Giants, the 1962 and 1989 World Series (I went to the '89 Series game that the earthquake struck and the 'Stick held up.thank you.) The Bad: The 1962 and 1989 Giant's World Series (they lost). The "Fumble" (Preston Riley). The Ugly: Night time baseball games. The "Joe Thomas" years. My favorite radio broadcast teams of Russ Hodges/Lon Simmons (Giants) and Lon Simmons/Wayne Walker (49ers). As a former season ticket holder (going back to 1965 at Kezar) for over 30 years, I attended 49er games with ver ...
On This Date in Sports 1986: In a key Monday Night battle at Candlestick Parks, the New York Giants beat the San Francisco 49ers 21-17. After falling behind 17-0 at the half, the Giants score 21 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter. Tight End Mark Bavaro has seven catches for 98 yards, highlighted by a bruising run in which he carried Ronnie Lott and several other 49ers defenders for a dozen yards.
High Pockets Kelly This article was written by Mark Stewart. Statistics can tell you a lot about a baseball player. In the case of George Kelly, they don’t say nearly enough. The first baseman for the New York Giants when they dominated the National League in the early 1920s, he was a clutch hitter par excellence and an astonishing defensive player. A quick-wristed slasher who could also crank out 400-foot homers, George made the winning play in back-to-back World Championships and left a legacy as one of the most admired men in the game. George Lange Kelly was born on September 10, 1895, in San Francisco, California. He was the product of a baseball-playing family. His mother’s brother, Bill Lange, was one of the best all-around players in professional baseball during the 1890s. George’s brother, Reynolds (aka Ren) Kelly, played pro ball for many years on the West Coast and pitched a game for the Philadelphia A’s in 1923. Growing up in San Francisco, George watched the city blossom in the years a ...
Here's my predictions for tomorrow's NFL games: Pittsburgh over Cleveland 17-14, New York Jets over Baltimore 20-14, San Francisco over Washington 35-10, New York Giants over Dallas 28-27, Denver over New England 38-14, Kansas City over San Diego 21-14, and Green Bay over Minnesota 31-17.
To all my fellow fantasy football freaks ... The following players are owned the most often on last-place teams in CBS Sports leagues, per The Associated Press: QB: Tom Brady, New England; Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco. Some people believe Brady is on the upswing after throwing for 296 yards and a touchdown Monday night against Carolina. Kaepernick's rushing numbers aren't enough to make up for his low passing totals. There are 15 quarterbacks who have more total points in standard leagues that tally four points per touchdown passing. RB: C.J. Spiller, Buffalo; Trent Richardson, Indianapolis; Ray Rice, Baltimore; Steven Jackson, Atlanta; Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville. All five players were taken on average in the first two rounds of fantasy drafts this year. WR: Roddy White, Atlanta; Marques Colston, New Orleans; Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants; Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona; Steve Smith, Carolina. It's probably not hard to guess that Fitzgerald has been the most productive of this group this year. But 20 ...
Today was a good day for NFL football! Oakland Raiders win...check. Miami Dolphins win...check. San Francisco 49ers lose...check. New York Jets lose...check. New York Giants win...check. Kansas City Chiefs lose...check. So now when I go to Vegas in December, I have New Year's $$$! And since the Chiefs lost, the 1972-73 Miami Dolphins undefeated season stays intact!

Everyone wants to bash on the Browns saying they are so bad. May I remind you we have the same record as Philadelphia, Green Bay, Atlanta, Carolina, St. Louis, San Francisco, Arizona, Buffalo, and San Diego. And we have a better record than Washington, New York Giants, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, and Jacksonville. I'm just sayin.
MY WEEK 3 NFL FOOTBALL PRIMER: Tonight: Kansas City Chiefs @ Philadelphia Eagles Andy Reid, the most successful Head Coach in modern NFL history, should receive a warm welcome. ONLY ONE THING HAS ME WORRIED: In Kansas City RED, he looks a bit like Santa Claus…and WE KNOW how Eagle fans treat SANTA CLAUS! Good thing for Andy, it's September, and there is no forecast of SNOW! :) I have nothing against the Eagles, but Reid returning home and getting the "W" is a "feel-good" story. :) Sunday 1 PM: Houston Texans @ Baltimore Ravens The Texans are a lucky 2-0 and Joe has been more Flacco than Fluke-O. If I was a betting man, I'd pick… on another game! :) New York Giants @ Carolina Panthers I think Big Blue get their first win! If we want a Manning Bowl 4, Eli and the Giants have to pick it up! Detroit Lions @ Washington Redskins Does RG3 start playing like he's healthy? Does Suh try to hurt someone…again? Does Daniel Snyder give in to political correctness and change their team name? In a town l ...
NFL late games scores from last night San Francisco 49ers 34-28 Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys 36-31 New York Giants
Aaron Norman Thomas, is a former American Football tight end in the National Football League for the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants
today in 1950 - Willie Mays graduated from high school and immediately signed with the New York Giants for a $6,000 bonus. The ‘Say Hey Kid’ would play most of his career for the Giants -- in both New York and San Francisco -- becoming a baseball legend. As his career came to a close, Mays was traded to the New York Mets. Mays, an all-star center fielder, is in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Son of a New York Giants fan whose heart was broken like so many New Yorkers when their team departed for San Francisco, grandson and nephew of Brooklyn Dodger fans like my mom who saw their "bums" head to the West Coast. I was born a Mets fan, literally. Born the day they played their first game, so I have message for Fred Wilpon. Start "owning" this baseball team or give it back to the city -- or I will personally find a way to make sure someday that a consortium of citizens gradually but assuredly buys back our National League franchise.
May 28, 1951—After going hitless in his first 12 major-league at-bats, the great Willie Mays gets his first hit in the show, a long home run off Hall Of Fame pitcher Warren Spahn. BUT...on this same date, just 6 years later, the New York Giants get permission from National League owners to cart poor Willie off with them to San Francisco. The Dodgers, instigators of this outrage, are also given permission to move to Los Angeles, breaking hearts throughout Brooklyn. Thanks to Walter O'Malley—named one of the worst three men of the 20th century by scribes Pete Hamill and Jack Newfield—the Dodgers will get a sweet land deal and make even more money than the already considerable profits they are turning in Brooklyn. The Giants, though, will struggle for decades in a much smaller market than New York. No National League team will replace them in the city until the Mets debut in 1962.
Charles Woodson will receive quite a greeting from Oakland Raiders fans when he makes a Free Agent visit to the team's facilities on Tuesday. A few of his potential teammates in Oakland will give him a warm reception as well. Woodson spent his first eight NFL seasons with the Raiders after being selected with the fourth overall pick in 1998. He signed with Green Bay following the 2005 season and helped the Packers win a Super Bowl title five years later before being released by the team in February. He has said he would like to play for a contender and has visited a handful of teams since being let go by Green Bay -- including San Francisco and Denver. His agent, Carl Poston, has told ESPN's Josina Anderson that the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants have also expressed interest. Woodson and the Raiders have also had preliminary talks. At Broncos OTAs on Monday, cornerback Champ Bailey said he hopes his team finds a way to sign Woodson. "Who wouldn't want to have a guy like that on their team? I'm all ...
Record: 10-4, second, NFC East Points scored/allowed: 336/218 Coach: Tom Landry Summary: The pattern of 10-4 Wild Card teams of the ‘70s is something to behold — I sense a replay project. After two Super Bowl appearances, Dallas slips a game behind the archenemy Redskins. The ‘Boys spread out their losses — to Green Bay, Washington, San Francisco and the New York Giants — rather evenly during the season. Avenging their defeat by the Niners with a thrilling 30-28 divisional victory, the defending champs were handed a definitive 26-3 beatdown by George Allen’s Redskins in the conference title match at RFK on New Year’s Eve. Notably, the Cowboys scored fewer points than the 7-7 Jets (who totaled 367), as well as both participants in the Immaculate Reception (Steelers 343, Raiders 365) — but they still rightfully warrant a 40-plus offense.  Offense: 41 Offensive line: 21. Another staggering display of power and skill that should be rewarded in a matchup system. All-Pro guard John Niland and ...
To expand upon my last post in regards to Notre Lame football, here are some events that have happened in more recent memory than when most of their success took place. 1) Color TV was invented 2) Charles Manson was roaming streets in California 3) Michael Jackson had black skin 4) Vanilla Ice was cool 5) The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers still played home baseball games in New York City, both winning titles as the New York Giants (1954) and Brooklyn Dodgers (1955) 6) The calculator was invented 7) Alcatraz in San Francisco still operated as a federal prison 8) Filet-O-Fish, Big Mac and Egg McMuffin made their McDonald's debuts. McDonald's sold its five billionth burger 9) My mom and dad were born (they're in their 60s) 10) Vaccine for polio is created 11) First videotape is also created 12) Dr. Martin Luther King gave his "I have a dream" speech 13) Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme (as well as Sara Jane Moore just two weeks later) attempted to assassinate ex-U.S. President Gerald Ford 14) First Su ...
Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins is scheduled to visit the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers next week, according to ESPN. Jenkins, 32, was released by the Eagles last Monday. He is reportedly meeting with Seattle this Monday and San Francisco on Tuesday. Jenkins already met with the New York Giants and reportedly has interest in returning to the Green Bay Packers, where he spent seven seasons earlier in his career. Jenkins started every game for Philadelphia in the last two years. He had four sacks last year. Do you think he would be a good fit? -JM
What goes around comes around...one of the most painful Giants losses (2003) an incredible 49er comeback thus preventing the Gmen from getting to the playoffs that year was avenged on Super Bowl Sunday. Also, once past the first five yards there was mutual pass interference...would have resulted in a replay of 4th down. But a no call was appropriate. I say... "Bummer!" NFL: Officials missed pass interference call in Giants-49ers By Larry Weisman, USA TODAY Every discussion of the NFL officiating system inevitably includes this sentiment: Just get the calls right. But the NFL acknowledged Monday that the New York Giants were deprived of the right to run a final play in their 39-38 playoff loss to San Francisco. New York's Rich Seubert is dragged down by San Francisco's Chike Okeafor on the final play of the game. By Jack Gruber, USA TODAY "How they missed that, I don't know," Giants coach Jim Fassel said. The league's director of officiating, Mike Pereira, said the 49ers should have been penalized for pas ...
WHY THE RAVENS WILL WIN: INFERENCE: The Ravens were the No. 4 seed in the AFC, while the 49ers finished as the NFC's No. 2 seed. In their only previous Super Bowl season, in 2000, they were also 4th seeded in the AFC and demolished the NFC's top-seeded New York Giants in Tampa. So, we can infer they will demolish the No. 2 seed San Francisco 49ers. COMPARE AND CONTRAST: Going up against 3 of the NFL’s best quarterbacks in Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady this postseason, Baltimore has allowed only 57 points (19 points per game). Joe Flacco has outdueled that list of quarterbacks while throwing for 853 yards and 8 touchdowns with 0 interceptions. CAUSE AND EFFECT: In returning from injury in the Wild Card matchup against Indianapolis and announcing his retirement at the end of the season – Ray Lewis seems to have completely rejuvenated the Ravens. PREDICTING: According to Madden NFL 2013, the Baltimore Ravens will edge out the San Francisco 49ers by a mere field goal, winning the Lombardi Tro ...
For the last time...the team with the most NFL Championships with THIRTEEN is Green Bay!! It's not San Francisco's 5, Pittsburgh's 6, or Dallas with 5. Number one is Green Bay's 13, number two is Chicago Bears with 9, and then the New York Giants with 8. Quit misinforming folks!!
Randy Moss was on the 1998 Minnesota Vikings who lost to the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship Game as heavy favorites. I bet you this must be sweet for him. Congratulations to the San Francisco 49ers on reaching Super Bowl XLVII! My brother, Yuly's favorite team! Too bad Brandon Jacobs was released and Mario Manningham got hurt :( It would have been sweet to have two prominent former New York Giants in the Super Bowl again, but good for the Niners anyway!
NY Jets expand search for GM In their search for a new General Manager, the New York Jets have interviewed San Francisco 49ers director of player personnel Tom Gamble, New York Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross and current Jets assistant GM Scott Cohen. The Jets were interested in, but missed out on Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel David Caldwell, who became the Jacksonville Jaguars' General Manager, and Indianapolis Colts vice president of football operations Tom Telesco, who was named the General Manager of the San Diego Chargers on Wednesday. The Jets were also interested in former Cleveland Browns GM Tom Heckert, who cancelled a scheduled interview. Missing out on Caldwell and Telesco has resulted in the Jets expanding their search and interviews have been scheduled with Pittsburgh Steelers director of football & business administration Omar Khan, Seattle Seahawks vice president of football administration John Idzik, Miami Dolphins assistant General Manager Brian Gaine and form ...
It's just one man's opinion, but New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz has picked a favorite in the NFC playoffs. Cruz's Giants played the San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons this season, but he believes the Washington Redskins march into January as the team to beat. "It's tough for me to say this because we play in the same division as them, but I think Washington is having a good year," Cruz told WFAN-AM on Wednesday, via The Star-Ledger. "They're having a year similar to us last year where they're kicking up at the right time. They're playing some good football. Typically the team that is playing the best toward the end of the year is the team that is going to potentially win it all." Cruz sees a little bit of last season's Giants in this season's Redskins. Washington has rattled off seven consecutive wins, going from a forgettable 3-6 to the top of the NFC East. "They've got the upper hand right now," Cruz said. "They're all on the same page, they're all buying in, (Robert G ...
2013 schedule: "...will not be released until the spring. But the Redskins know that they will host the Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers. The Redskins also will play road games against the Denver Broncos, whom Shanahan coached from 1995-2008, the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers and at Dallas, Philadelphia and New York."
Welcome to Week 15! NFL Sunday Ticket showing every game. New York Giants face Atlanta Falcons at 1PM, Dallas Cowboys take on The Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Sunday Night Game with San Francisco 49ers trying to topple Brady and New England Patriots.
The Week 15 Game of the Week is going to be a little bit different this week. There are 5 pretty great games out there and hard to choose just one. What we are going to offer this week only are multiple games. The prize is $130 and again the exact result still needs to be guessed to win. However, you can only choose one of the five games to pick and guess, so choose the most confident. We could have multiple winners or a carry over but it should be fun! The five to choose from: Indianapolis Colts vs Houston Texans. - Denver Broncos vs Baltimore Ravens. - Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears. - New York Giants vs Atlanta Falcons. - San Francisco 49ers vs New England Patriots. Predictions will close 5 minutes prior to each game and same rules apply. Again, only one pick per person will count. Good Luck!
The top 10 teams in the Power Rankings for week 15 are: 1. New England Patriots (10-3) 2. Denver Broncos (10-3) 3. Houston Texans (11-2) 4. San Francisco 49ers (9-3-1) 5. Atlanta Falcons (11-2) 6. Green Bay Packers (9-4) 7. New York Giants (8-5) 8. Baltimore Ravens (9-4) 9. Indianapolis Colts (9-4) 10. Seattle Seahawks (8-5) The Washington Redskins are ranked number 12 moving up 2 spots from 14th. The biggest jump in the rankings goes to the Cleveland Browns who moved up 4 spots from 24th to 20th. The biggest drop in the rankings is a tie between the New Orleans Saints dropping 4 spots from 18th to 22nd and the Detroit Lions dropping 4 spots from 21st to 25th.
Griffs NFL Power Rankings after week 11 1. San Francisco ( yes there are 2 teams with better records, but if you watched the last 2 games under Kaepernick you'd understand ) 2. Houston ( Defense struggling a bit, but still getting it done ) 3. Atlanta ( not as good as there record, they scream one and done ) 4. Denver ( they miss McGahee, but Manning has them primed ) 5. Baltimore ( they just find ways to keep winning ) 6. New England ( scary good offense, improving D ) 7. Chicago ( opportunistic D, but injuries are gonna keep them dropping ) 8. New York Giants ( looked great tonight anyway ) 9. Green Bay ( Bad Offensive line, Bad D, Premiere QB ) 10. Indianapolis ( surprise of the league, Luck is solid )
What a great football weekend. First, Notre Dame wins a berth in the BCS National Championship in early January, then the Bears recover from an embarrassing loss in San Francisco with a beat-down of the Minnesota Vikings, and the Green Bay Packers get pummeled by the New York Giants. It's weekends like this that make me love football...now if only I married a woman who loved football just the same. Oh well...can't please everybody.
These are all my NFL predication picks for week 12 of this 2012 season: *Bye weeks for all 32 teams are over* Chicago Bears over Minnesota Vikings: 24-21 Cincinnati Bengals over Oakland Raiders: 28-14 Pittsburgh Steelers over Cleveland Browns: 17-14 Indianapolis Colts over Buffalo Bills: 32-24 Denver Broncos over Kansas City Chiefs: 31-12 Seattle Seahawks over Miami Dolphins: 28-21 Tampa Bay Buccaneers over Atlanta Falcons: 35-27 Jacksonville Jaguars over Tennessee Titans: 25-22 Baltimore Ravens over San Diego Chargers: 23-19 New Orleans Saints over San Francisco 49ers: 31-23 Arizona Cardinals over St. Louis Rams: 24-21 Green Bay Packers over New York Giants: 38-31 Carolina Panthers over Philadelphia Eagles: 31-16 My record was 10-4 for week 11 of this 2012 NFL season:) If you have any questions about my NFL picks just asked and I will answer them for you:)
Legendary players that Notre Dame has produce in the last 125 years a few to mention Joe Theisman of the Washington Redskins, Joe Montana of the San Francisco 49ers, Paul Hornung of the Green Bay Packers, Rocket Ismail of the Dallas Cowboys, Mark Bavaro of the New York Giants, Dave Casper and Tim brown of the Oakland Raiders and Rocky Blere and Jerome Bettis of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
I noticed online that Gail Harris died. He was a baseball player. He played for the New York Giants and the Detroit Tigers 1955-1960. I didn't know that he was the last New York Giant to hit a home run before the franchise moved to San Francisco. What I did know was that in 1954 he played for the Minneapolis Millers in the American Association. He lived in the opposite corner of the block where I lived. I was 9 years old at the time. He was very friendly to several of us little boys in the neighborhood. He and his family would invite us in serve us some cold lemonade or something. He once played with us at the playgound at my elemetary school. He gave our family free tickets once to a Millers game.
The Green Bay Packers are the current favorite to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 47. It’s not the Atlanta Falcons , San Francisco 49ers , New York Giants or Chicago Bears , but the Green Bay Packers that are the class of the conference...
The road to a playoff bye is rarely a smooth one. The top teams in the NFC were reminded of that in Week 10. The Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, and New York Giants all failed to come away with wins on Sunday. (The 49ers kissed their division sisters.) Concussions suffered by quarterbacks Jay Cutler and Alex Smith loom especially large. We could see a matchup of backups Colin Kaepernick and Jason Campbell on "Monday Night Football" next week. With their easy schedule and great play at home, the Falcons can survive their slip-up in New Orleans. The 49ers remain two up in the loss column on Seattle in the NFC West and don't rely on their quarterback play that much. They can live without Smith. The Giants are used to second-half drama. It's what they do. The Bears are the team to worry about most here. They have the Packers coming fast in the rearview mirror and a brutal schedule coming up, with five straight games against winning teams. Chicago relies on Cutler's big arm to overcome ina ...

So I did some homework after the confusion of a professional football ending in a tie and here were my findings in case if anyone may be interested in NFL History: 4:12PM EST November 12. 2012 - Since 1989, there have been six ties in the NFL, including Sunday's 24-24 deadlock between the St. Louis Rams and San Francisco 49ers. Here are five facts about the most recent NFL standings oddities. 1. Each of those six ties has taken place in November of various years, over a two-week stretch from Nov. 10 to Nov. 23. That's 15 weeks over each of the past 23 years without any ties and two weeks with six. 2. The longest stretch of games without a tie was from 1989 until the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens tied 10-10 in 1997. Then, after eight years without a tie, it took just seven days for the next one. The Washington Redskins and New York Giants finished deadlocked at 7-7 in the infamous Gus Frerotte head-butt game. 3. There were 10 ties in the 1980s. Those back-to-back ties from the Eagles/Ravens and ...
Top five NFL teams at this moment for this week. If you agree like. If not, comment. 5. New York Giants 4. Green Bay Packers 3. Chicago Bears 2. Houston Texans 1. Atlanta Falcons (Close sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth: New England Patriots and Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens, and San Francisco 49ers)
My bad peoples.I found a mistake. My spreadsheet had a mistake in it and didn't add in a win for the 49ers, so let's try this again. Since tomorrow night will not have an impact on my version of the NFL Top 12 then we can start the debate early. 1,2 and 3 should be no-brainers. Starting at I will probably get grief, but keep in mind that the Seahawks have beaten more teams that were in the top 10 when they played them than anyone else on this list. I absolutely can't wait to see battle next Sunday night. 1. Atlanta Falcons 2. Houston Texans 3. Chicago Bears 4. San Francisco 49ers 5. Seattle Seahawks 6. Green Bay Packers 7. Baltimore Ravens 8. New York Giants 9. Denver Broncos 10. Pittsburgh Steelers 11. Indianapolis Colts 12. Minnesota Vikings
Just a few weeks ago, New York Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride said San Francisco 49ers Defensive End Justin Smith "gets away with murder." Now Giants Defensive End Justin Tuck said the same about the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of Sunday's big matchup. LOL Giants just wana do the blaming game on every rough match up they come across.. too funny i hope they dont make the play offs this year..Dont see me saying this too often.. Go Steelers ! Kick those whining Giants *** sunday ~!!!
the Giants were approached by San Francisco mayor (George Christopher.) Despite objections from shareholders such as Joan Whitney Payson, majority owner Horace Stoneham entered into negotiations with San Francisco officials at around the same time that the Dodgers' owner Walter O'Malley was courting the city of Los Angeles. O'Malley had been told that the Dodgers would not be allowed to move to Los Angeles unless a second team moved to California as well. He pushed Stoneham toward relocation. And so it was in the summer of 1957 that both the New York Giants and the Brooklyn Dodgers announced their moves to California, and the Golden Age of baseball in the New York area had ended.
Time for the weekly NFL Pick. So far this season I am 63-41. TNF - Minnesota over Tampa Miami over New York Jets (Upset game) Packers over the Jacksonville Jaguars. # 12 is on a roll...look out San Diego over Cleveland... Sorry to Bob Martin...I'd love to pick Cleveland Philly over ATL... ATL is due for an off game, and The iggles might just do it Chicago over Carolina --- Cam has attitude... a bad one, but he has one at least New England Over St. Louis, but I wouldn't be surprised if Fish pulls the upset TN over Indy... TN has gotten some confidence, which should be enough to win in Indy Detroit over Seattle... I think you all know where I stand on the Seahawks. I can't pick em Kansas City over Oakland...DGOTW New York Giants over The Cowboys. The "Gints" get even for the first game of the year Denver over New Orleans. Drew will struggle with the elevation... Just like Obama San Francisco over Arizona... The Cards aren't flying so high these days
It is time for the good, the bad and the ugly. The good: Aaron Rodgers threw 6 touchdowns to give Green Bay Packers 42-24 win over the Houston Texans. The bad: The New York Giants destroyed the San Francisco 49ers 26-3. Alex Smith is not an elite quarterback. The ugly: Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb of the Baltimore Ravens are out for the season due to injuries. They can kiss their trip to the Super Bowl this year goodbye. Have a great day everybody!
60 Seconds Time Out: Let’s meet this week’s Flag On The Play contenders – Someone please tell me why Penn State’s Jerry Sandusky has asked for a new trial? Not because he didn’t do it, but because some of the statues of limitations expired. Get outta here; British Olympic diver, Tom Daley thought it was ok to wear the logo “BRITISH GAS” across the back of his swim trunks; the New York Giants left their cars unlocked, when they went to San Francisco. When they returned home, thieves had broken into their vehicles and one car was stolen. Hello, that was just crazy. Not the breaking in of the cars, but the leaving of cars unlocked; the Steelers Ta’amu was suspended for 2 games for driving drunk, causing a police chase, attempting to run over police offers, crashing cars, and running from the scene of an accident, but the Saints’ Vilma and crew get suspended for the season. Good job, Commish Goodell; MLB umpires need glasses or an eye transplant. They kept making bad calls all week. No wonde ...
Alex Smith threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Delanie Walker late in the third quarter and San Francisco held off the Seattle Seahawks 13-6 on Thursday night as the 49ers won their long-awaited division opener. Frank Gore ran for 116 yards and the 49ers (5-2) took over sole possession of first place in the NFC West by making just enough plays to win this defense-first game, featuring two teams allowing fewer than 16 points per game. Walker's score was San Francisco's first touchdown in seven quarters after an embarrassing 26-3 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday in a lopsided rematch of the NFC Championship Game. Smith went 14 of 23 for 140 yards in another subpar performance. NFC rushing leader Marshawn Lynch finished with 103 yards for Seattle (4-3).

Raiders have no plans to share 49ers' Santa Clara stadium By Published: October 16, 2012 at 3:15 PM ET Modified: October 17, 2012 at 1:17 AM ET To Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis, O.co Coliseum is a sight to behold, but not in a good way. Home to the Raiders and Oakland Athletics, the 46-year-old stadium is beyond renovation, Davis told NFL.com and NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport during the NFL Fall Meeting in Chicago. The multipurpose stadium poses problems when it comes to repairs and upgrades and the sightlines for football are "absolutely terrible," Davis told Rapoport. The Raiders ' Bay area rivals, the San Francisco 49ers , broke ground on their new, 68,500-seat Santa Clara Stadium in April. But Davis told Rapoport that he has no plans to share the stadium, a la the New York Giants and New York Jets before MetLife Stadium was built. "I give the 49ers all the credit in the world for getting a shovel in the ground in California," Davis said. "That's phenomenal. But we're trying to get our situation ...
Call me crazy but I'm picking the New York Giants over San Francisco, Chicago Bears, and Green Bay in NFC. AFC is wide open.
After spanking the San Francisco 49ers, Ahmad Bradshaw and the New York Giants re-enter the top three of Elliot Harrison's Power Rankings. Plus, there's a new team at the top ... and the bottom.

5. New York Giants (4-2) 4. San Francisco 49ers (4-2) Yep. The Giants just smoked the 49ers at Candlestick in what was, until the Packers-Texans game, the most impressive 60 minutes by an NFL team this season. They took a 49ers team that had won their previous two games by a total of 76 points to the woodshed, winning 26-3 in a performance that was every bit as dominant as the score line indicated. The Giants even picked up the moral victory of getting Ahmad Bradshaw over 100 yards and into the end zone on a running play, becoming the first team to do either of those things against the 49ers at home during the Jim Harbaugh era. So how can the Niners be ahead of the Giants? Because they've been much better over the other five weeks of the season. In addition to stomping the Bills and Jets, remember that the Packers needed a miracle flag pickup from the replacement refs to get within one score of the Niners in Week 1, and that the Lions offered little resistance a week later. When the Niners start beating a ...
New York Giants free safety Antrel Rolle, left, celebrates with cornerback P... SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Antrel Rolle and the New York Giants studied Alex Smith so much they practically knew what was coming. On one play in the third quarter, even running back Ahmad Bradshaw screamed from the sideline: ``Trail. He's watching you.'' Rolle responded, pretended he was playing the deep ball and then sliced in front of Kyle Williams on a short hook. ``He threw the ball right to me,'' Rolle said. After a slow start this season, New York's defense saved its best for the 49ers yet again. Rolle intercepted two passes by Smith, Prince Amukamara picked off another and the Giants shut down San Francisco in a 26-3 victory Sunday in a rematch of last season's NFC Championship Game. ``I think this is our most complete game all year long,'' Rolle said. After outscoring the Bills and Jets by a combined 79-3 the last two weeks, the 49ers (4-2) met their match again. No overtime needed this time, and not much of Eli Manning, e ...
The Giants, who entered as six point underdogs, handed the 49ers their worst loss of the 22-game Jim Harbaugh era and didn't allow San Francisco to enter the red zone, collect a sack, force a turnover or score in the game's final 47 minutes. Asked if he was humbled, cornerback Carlos Rogers said th...
New York Giants running backs Ahmad Bradshaw and David Wilson amass 151 yards in a 26-3 rout of the San Francisco 49ers
Buck had to call the 1:15 p.m. PT NFL game between the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers. And, as you've probably noticed, he's calling the first NLCS game between the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants.
Alright these are my Top 7 NFL teams regardless of tonights results 1. San Francisco 49ers (They have all the tools but, I'm not an Alex Smith believer) 2. New York Giants (They're still the Champs) 3. New England (Tom Brady Nuff Said) 4. Green Bay Packers (Better for them to lose early in the season rather than late) 5. Houston Texans (Not a believer yet but they have earned my respect) 6. Atlanta Falcons ( Don't see them winning it all) 7. Washington Redskins (As a Redskin Hater, I love everything about them this year :\)
I can't decide who my favorite NFL team should be. Every year I choose a different team. So I'm going to let my friends vote for me. Out of these teams who should be my favorite permanently. 1. New York Giants 2. New Orleans Saints 3. Green Bay Packers 4. Denver Broncos 5. Minnesota Vikings 6. Indianapolis Colts 7. San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers WR Kyle Williams wants to get back at New York Giants – NFL News
From wikipedia: New York Giants vs. San Francisco 49ers The rivalry between the Giants and 49ers is rooted in the 1980s when both teams were on the rise and would combine to win six Super Bowls in the 1981-90 stretch. The Giants and 49ers have met in the playoffs eight times since the 1981 season, with both teams having won 4 games. The 49ers defeated the Giants in the first two meetings (the 1981 NFC divisional round 38-24 and again in the divisional round, this time in 1984, winning 21-10) en route to victories in Super Bowl XVI and Super Bowl XIX. The Giants would defeat the 49ers in the next three playoff meetings; in the 1985 Wild Card round the Giants defeated the defending Super Bowl XIX champions 17-3, then crushed the 49ers 49–3 in the divisional round of the 1986 playoffs en route to winning Super Bowl XXI, the first in the history of the Giants franchise. This game is memorable for nose tackle Jim Burt's hit on Joe Montana that knocked him out of the game in the second quarter; Montana's pass ...

A little grass roots NFL Power Rankings thing. What a week. The Saints finally won, the Packers look ordinary and the Texans and Falcons continue to chase perfection. Here's this week's stuff: 1) Houston Texans - Still on top, still getting the job done. 2) Atlanta Falcons - Now 3-0 on the road, the Falcons are becoming scary good. 3) New England Patriots - 200+ yards on the ground in back to back weeks. Too many weapons. 4) San Francisco 49ers - This week hosting the Giants, a win could move this team up to Minnesota Vikings - Yes, I'm still shocked. Holding Fast: Baltimore Ravens, New York Giants, Chicago Bears. On the Rise: Miami Dolphins, St. Louis Rams, Indianapolis Colts. Falling: Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins. Stink Ahoy: Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders. Game of the week: St. Louis Rams at Miami Dolphins (PICK: Dolphins 21, Rams 20) Yours?
Sorry Cleveland Browns fans! After your fast start against the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants, things do not go so well for you. It was expected. Eli Manning is great! He is far removed from Peyton with his 2 Super Bowl MVP trophies. Finally, the running game embarrassed a weak team and showed promise. There was many MVP's including Victor Cruz's 3 touchdown catches. Hopefully this will continue next week against a wannabe San Francisco team that has a traitor among them. Warren's own, Mario Manningham and that washed up thug, Brandon Jacobs.

A little grass roots NFL Power Rankings thing. The good news is that the real officials are back - wonder how long the honeymoon will be. After all, the real refs make bad calls, too. It's called being human. This week's rankings: 1) Atlanta Falcons- Now winning on the road - dangerous team. 2) Houston Texans - That piece of Matt Shaub's ear is a nice souvenier for one of the groundskeepers. 3) Arizona Cardinals- Don't underestimate these birds, until they start losing. 4) Baltimore Ravens - The offense carrying the load? Wow. 5) San Francisco 49ers- That loss to the Vikings will fire this team up. On the Rise: New York Giants, Cincinati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings. Falling: New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions. Stink Ahoy: Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns. Yours?
Love Pro Football!!! Payton Manning and Eli Manning are the Greatest!!! Except I loved Joe Montana when he was the San Francisco 49er's Quaterback!! Go Denver Broncos and New York Giants my favorite 2 teams!!!

The 2012 NFL season is upon us, and Doug Franz ranks all 32 teams heading into Week 1. 1) New England Patriots: No matter how much they work, young QBs like Locker and Skelton won't stop the Pats from being 2-0 before a showdown at Baltimore. 2) Green Bay Packers: 15-1 just doesn't go away; brutal beginning schedule will shake my confidence early but the Packers will be back on top by the end. 3) Baltimore Ravens: Flacco ran no-huddle in college and now has Peyton's former coach to help him run it. 4) New York Giants: I have no idea what to do with this team. 5)San Francisco 49ers: I think Harbaugh is a jerk; I think Harbaugh is a great coach. 6) Denver Broncos: First easy game is against Tampa Bay, the problem is that's in December. 7) Pittsburgh Steelers: O-line is a bigger issue than Haley or Wallace. 8) Houston Texans: Excellent chance to start 4-1; still think releasing Eric Winston was a terrible mistake. 9) Cincinnati Bengals: Good news: all the tough opponents are at home. Bad news: December. 10) ...
Predicting the NFC playoff field 1. Green Bay Packers (12-4) 2. San Francisco 49ers (12-4) 3. Atlanta Falcons (10-6) 4. New York Giants (9-7) 5. Chicago Bears (10-6) 6. Detroit Lions (10-6) The Packers get the top seed for the second consecutive season by virtue of their Week 1 home win over the 49ers. The Giants are back in their familiar No. 4 spot, but expect things to play out a little differently than they did in the '11 playoffs. The Bears and Lions will take advantage of their softer interdivision slates to trump the Eagles and Saints for the final two playoffs spots, but don’t look for them to last long.
Here are my Predictions on who will win tonight in NFL, :New York Giants over New York Jets :Washington Redskins over Chicago Bears :Kansas City Chiefs over St. Louis Rams :Houston Texans over San Francisco 49ers :Seattle Seahawks over Denver Broncos :San Diego Chargers over Dallas Cowboys Whos Ready for some FootBall???!
New post: San Francisco 49ers' Brandon Jacobs says New York Jets can't one-up New York Giants
Mario Manningham and Brandon Jacobs have put their pasts behind them and are ready to make fresh starts with the San Francisco 49ers, with no hard feelings for the New York Giants.
"We tried our plan...and it worked." From whom did this quote come? (A) Barack Obama in a speech in San Francisco last Wednesday, (B) Bob Gibson, who was offensive coordinator of the New York Giants when QB Joe Pisarcik fumbled trying to hand off the ball against the Philadelphia Eagles on November 19, 1978 in Giants Stadium. (The Eagles, who had no timeouts, won 19-17 when they should have lost 17-12 if Pisarcik had taken a knee), or (C) Red Sox owner John Henry, in assessing the managerial skills of Bobby Valentine.
Howard David & Jim Miller, hosts of The SiriusXM Blitz were joined by San Francisco 49ers LB Patrick Willis and he talks about the 2012 schedule plus the upcoming rematch against the New York Giants.
At least one New York Giants fan was upset enough about Brandon Jacobs' defection to the San Francisco 49ers, that he opened his own wallet to try and get him back. Actually, make that a Piggy Bank.
Why I Love The Dallas Cowboys! A lot of people here have asked how a nice Sicilian girl from the San Francisco area became a Dallas Cowboys fan. Here’s how! A couple of years ago I Posted on the DMN about how I was forced to attend my Dad’s football games, but how eventually I fell in love with the sport. While I was busy trying to learn as much about the game as I could, I kept running into mentions of Tom Landry’s ‘Flex’ Defense. I knew that he had invented the 4-3 while he was an assistant coach with the New York Giants, but when I asked supposedly knowledgeable football people about the Flex, I got practically no real answers except, “Well, nobody ever used it except Dallas and the 49’rs”. But, used WHAT? What was it? Nobody REALLY knew. So, I went on a ‘quest’ to find out, and in the course of that ‘quest’ I discovered the Dallas Cowboys. If you want to know what the ‘Flex’ was the place you start is with the 1966 NFL Championship Game between Dallas and Green Bay, ...
Members of the 2011 New York Giants will receive their Tiffany & Co. designed Super Bowl XLVI rings in a Wednesday night private ceremony at the company’s flagship store on Manhattan’s Fifth Ave. Brandon Jacobs & Mario Manningham, however, will not join the celebration. Instead, both members of last year’s Super Bowl-winning Giants team worked out with their new San Francisco 49ers teammates at the team’s latest Football School session. “I decided not to partake in getting the ring,” said Jacobs, who had his wife Kim Jacobs, attend the ceremony to receive his ring on his behalf. “I think my goal here is pretty clear on what I’m trying to achieve as an individual player and as a team.” Jacobs will head to the East Coast once this week’s on-field work concludes

Whenever the 49ers & New York Giants did battle in recent years, big in the blue jersey was hard to miss. But after signing a free-agent deal with San Francisco this offseason, veteran RB Brandon Jacobs got some new digits to go with his new threads. Jacobs will be wearing this season with the 49ers, as the date of April 5 (4/5) holds special significance. “It was the time I first spoke to my wife,” Jacobs said. “And it was also the first time we made the decision to get our house that we’re going to live in the rest of our lives. … I think it looks good on me; I feel good with it.”
