Demand for the inaugural Soul Train Cruise was so great that organizers had two choices. They could get a bigger ship or they could book a second voyage. They decided on the latter and the second Soul Train Cruise in 2013 departs San Diego Oct. 5 with Earth, Wind & Fire; Gladys Knight; Jeffrey Osborne and more. Now both coasts have a Soul Train Cruise. Created to celebrate the legacy of Soul Train TV host Don Cornelius who tragically chose to end his own life earlier this year, the sold-out first adventure features a boatload of famous R&B performers such as Patti LaBelle, WAR, Kool & The Gang, The O’Jays and George Duke. The cruise departs Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Feb. 17. The newly announced second Soul Train Cruise steams out of San Diego on Holland America’s MS Westerdam Oct. 5, returning Oct. 12. With Cabo San Lucas as the destination, the voyage includes two days in Puerto Vallarta and scenic cruising of Baha Magdalena. Gary's mom has just booked us on a 15 day cruise thru the Panama Canal in Sept. as a "belated honeymoon" gift. I am a bit excited as this is a trip I have always wanted to take. We leave from San Diego, with a few stops in Mexico (Puerto Vallarta, Cabo etc.), then to Guatamala and Costa Rica, all on the Pacific side, thru the Canal to Panama and Columbia, SA ending in Miami. Sounds good to me! Thanks, Marion...
