"Have you ever heard of the healing power of laughter?" --The Joker (Batman 1989) I've posted so many times over the years about the true spiritual power of laughter. Through their observations and calculated deliveries, some people have the ability to bring an involuntary burst of joy from complete strangers. We all know them as comedians. We never really take the time to appreciate the time they've taken to bring those perfectly timed laughs to us. Our lives have been made better, even if just for a moment, because of them. With the recent passing of John Pinette, David Brenner, Mickey Rooney and Tim Wilson; I am compelled to reflect on others who left us too soon. Friends! Please, if there is a name here you don't know... go look them up on youtube. Do yourself a favor, and treat yourself to some great laughs. Here are some mics that were left open too soon. Mitch Hedberg, Bill Hicks, Phil Hartman, Patrice O'Neal, Richard Jeni, Bernie Mac, Gilda Radner, Chris Farley, Greg Giraldo, Sam Kinison, ...
bumpin that Lucky Lex Keep On The Line Re-Skinny-Mix on the real speakers. i spent about 2 months making sure this was as tight as possible and i think i did. so many edits, chops, effects, blends, mixes, keeping a continuum of ideas and it flows; all 41.4 minutes of 12 tracks in the same order as on the original album; but with everything from industrial, gothic metal, 80s Pop, Molson Canadian commercials, Leonard Cohen, Christiano (Ocean's 12 B-Boy Laser track), Enya, Andreas Vollenweider, Ministry, Run DMC, Cutting Crew, The 5 Deadly Venoms, George Bush the 1st talks about the New World Order being a big idea, Bob Marley talking about why he gets high to realize how much of a real musician he is, Wu-Tang, Eminem, Mobb Deep, 2Pac, Dilated Peoples, Alchemist, Belinda Carlisle, Harper talking about how "there's no place like our home and native land; there's no place like Canada", Howard Stern, Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks, Chris Rock, We The Sheep People , The Ventures , and a ton of Kung-Fu/Martial Arts Movi ...
How often do you get the chance to see an Emmy winning and Grammy Nominated Comedian? His early comedy partners included Sinbad, Dennis Miller, Louie Anderson and the late Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison. He was runner up for Ellen Degeneres in the Showtime's Funniest in America Contest. His name is Elliott Threatt. That is just one of the comedians we have signed for the night! January 24th at Black Iron is your chance! Posters and Details coming up! You will be able to reserve tables ahead of time! Details to come!
My dream stand up comedy show would be Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks, Patrice O'neal, Rodney Dangerfield and Doug Stanhope.
With the Sam Kinison biopic in development, Denis Leary is one step closer to starring in the Bill Hicks biopic.
On the day that would have been his 50th birthday, we have a special archive stand-up performance from legendary late American comedian Bill Hicks for Scottish TV.
I thought mine was Sam Kinison at one point, but Bill Hicks had cigarettes so, I had to switch.
loved the bootleg History of the World Part 2 - that scene with Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison... PRICELESS.
The longer I live, the more the wisdom of Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison, Denis Leary, and Richard Jeni prove to be righteous and dead f'ing right!
Oscars to exhume the corpses of Richard Pryor, Sam Kinison and Bill Hicks to host 2014 Academy Awards show.
It makes me sad to realize that there are adults in this world who were born too late to see people like George Burns, Red Skelton, Groucho Marx, Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison, or Johnny Carson when they were alive. Maybe it's just sad because it means I'm getting old, but it kind of boggles my mind that there are grown adults walking around who, temporally speaking, think of someone like Kinison the same way I think of Hendrix or Janis Joplin - a voice from the past that was never a living part of their world. Maybe that's why, in spite of all the bad things to be said about it, I actually do enjoy motion pictures - whether film or television or whatever - as a medium.
Joe Rogan: “One of the most complex and exciting stand-ups working in America today. Like an idealistic hippy stuck inside the body of a testosterone-pumped US marine. He’s been likened to late great US comedians such as Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison, but although heexhibits a similar brand of furious…
This is my only public comment about all the *** and dreck that's been reported on Bleeding Cool over the last week. The biography series I edit about legendary comedy has parted ways with the worst publisher in the history of comics (which isn't news to anyone, myself included). Jaymes Reed has decided to self-publish the series, and I support that idea 100%. That said, buckle up! We are going to give you our best work in 2013 with new biographies of Redd Foxx, Sam Kinison, Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks and even WKRP in Cincinnati (written by me). I'll post updates as they become available.
I'd really like to be able to channel mellow comics like Mitch Hedberg or Steven Wright . But my nature truly does tend for me to channel the ANGRY ... like Bill Hicks, Lewis Black and Sam Kinison. I think the mellowest I can channel is Doug Stanhope or Dana Gould.
27 years I've lived, and I've known of Sam Kinison but never listened to him. OMG I love you Bill Hicks but this might have Taken the Cake!
Here we go. Top 5 fav. Standup Comedians. If you say "Dane Cook or Nick Swardson" I am deleting you from my friend list. 1.Mitch Hedberg 2.Sam Kinison 3.Bill Hicks 4.George Carlin 5.Robin Williams
Do I send you my favorite comedians too? If so they're Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison, Mitch Hedberg, and Louis CK.
Suge Knight said that Katt Willliams is greater than Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Mitch Hedburg, Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison...
if they were to make a Mt. Rushmore of comedians; hands down it would consist of: George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, Rodney Dangerfield, and Sam Kinison.
you couldn't at least thank Bill Hicks or Sam Kinison for that, no?
If Andy, Bill Hicks or Sam Kinison were alive today.they would be spinning in their graves...spoken like a true Conservative! I could be President with that kind of logic!!
Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Richard Pryor and Lenny Bruce are the real when it comes to American stand-up.
Now I'm banned? Hmm... Well can I at least hang out with Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison in the lake of fire?
yeah, but men also have George Carlin, Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison, Rodney Dangerfield et al. Women are behind on points.
I know comics who long for the days of Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison and the original Texas Outlaws of Comedy. I know comics who want DefJam to rise again. I know even a few who speak nostalgically of Carlos Mencia. But very few cheer for the free market..
My favorite five comedians of all-time: George Carlin, Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks, Denis Leary, and Richard Pryor. Unfortunately, all but one of them are no longer with us. How about you, Matthew Deery?
C'mon, get a group of friends together, to go out after the LSU game, to The Howlin' Wolf Den at 9:30, to see Travis FromLongville and Bill *** open for Jimmy Pineapple. This guy is great, well respected, in the same class as Bill Hicks, and Sam Kinison, one of the original "Outlaws", plus, it's a pay what you can show, so what do you have to lose? Come check it out. Bring everyone you know.
People who Searched 'Sam Kinison' also searched for Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Hicks, Andrew Dice Clay and Bobcat Goldthwait
Too me, good comedy makes you laugh first and foremost. But it also makes you think, and a little uncomfortable.uncomfortable in the sense that the comedian as went into a sacred realm of your psyche causing you to reexamine certain morals and idealogical beliefs you've had set in stone. Begging you to question those things you've found solace with. Paul Mooney does that, Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, Sam Kinison all did that.and to that list I add my friend Thai Rivera. That's great company to be in. Of course this is my opinion only. But mark my words the boys the goods.
I'm going to heaven or *** depending on wherever George Carlin, Sam Kinison & Bill Hicks landed. Those guys I want to spend eternity with.
Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, and Mitch Hedberg . These are the guys that I have always loved a comedians and they are sorely missed!
Bored. Here are my top five lists of comedians: living and of all time. Look them up if you want but if you don't I really don't care. Top 5 Living Comedians: 5. Dave Chappelle 4. Lewis Black 3. Doug Stanhope 2. Chris Rock 1. Louis CK (this one was kind of tough so here are the ones I considered listing: Daniel Tosh, Bill Maher, Jim Jeffries, Jon Stewart, Robin Williams, Whitney Cummings, Lisa Lampanelli, Jerry Seinfeld, and Christopher Titus) Top 5 Comedians of All Time: 5. Louis CK 4. Lenny Bruce 3. Richard Pryor 2. Bill Hicks 1. George Carlin (this one wasn't very hard but some great ones that I haven't mentioned are: Sam Kinison, Patrice O'Neal, Greg Giraldo, Eddie Izzard, and Rodney Dangerfield)
Bill Hicks' old drinking buddy on UK Channel 4's "Saturday Live", sometime in the mid 80's.
When I die, I hope to have dinner with John Lennon, Johnny Cash, Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison.
This episode of Provocateur- Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison two legendary trouble makers, who did more t
Ron Shock was one of the nicest and coolest comedians I have ever had the chance to work with. I only opened for him once, and to this day, I have never seen anybody tell a story like him. He made a two-hour set feel like ten minutes. After the show, we went to a diner and talked comedy until the sun almost came up. He told me story after story about Bill Hicks, Sam Kinison, being one of the original Outlaws of Comedy and the joy comedy brings to people. We've lost way too many great comics in recent years, and sadly, we lost Ron. Take care, buddy. Like you always said "You're gonna die anyways."
This second part is hard because Im starting to get a little emotional as i write this. A comedian should acknowledge the people who went before him and that's what Iam doing now. My heroes in this business are Bill Hicks and George Carlin and Sam Kinison and Andy Kaufman. Other influences include Steven Wright, Robert Klein, Mort Sahl and Jonathan Winters. If it wasnt for them, I wouldnt have considered being a stand-up. Especially Bill Hicks and George Carlin who bucked the system and affirmed to me that my anti-establishment ways were right on the money.
Bill Hicks, Patrice O'Neal, Greg Giraldo, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Richard Jeni, Sam Kinison, John Belushi, Phil Hartman, and many many more Thanks for the laughs, man
Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison two comedians that changed me.
No seriously, I'm fcked up.. Ive been watching George Carlin, Sam Kinison, Bill Hicks, Benny Hill, Pryor since I was a kid :)
