CHELSEA are ready to sell John Obi Mikel as they look to muscle in on Arsenal's move for Real Madrid and Germany star Sami Khedira. Blues boss Jose Mourinho is keen on adding another midfielder to his squad before the start of the new Premier League campaign, and with a £60million move for Juventus' Paul Pogba starting to look unlikely, the Special One is keen to land £20million Khedira. Chelsea have a number of players competing for places in the centre of the pitch, including former Gunners hero Cesc Fabregas, but one man who looks set to leave is Nigeria international Mikel. The 27-year-old started in just 11 league games last season, and reports in Italy claim he has been offered to a number of Serie A teams including Inter Milan for around £10million. Mikel, who joined Chelsea from Lyn in controversial circumstances after initially agreeing a deal with Manchester United, has made 206 appearances during his time at Stamford Bridge, picking up a Premier League and Champions League winner's medal as ...

I stand to be corrected but I have noticed with dismay how "Copperbelt derby" is being used to describe the game between Nkana and Power. My knowledge of a derby is generally a game played between two teams in the same region. Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan vs AC Milan are derbies. Copperbelt derby could also mean any teams from the Copperbelt (same region) playing against each other. The clash between Nkana and Power has always been called the Kitwe derby just like we used to have Mighty Mufulira Wanderers vs Mufulira Blackpool or Ndola United vs Strike Rovers or Vitafoam. However, Barcelona’s meeting with Real Madrid has also been referred to as a ‘derby’, because of the historic nature of the national rivalry.
Real Madrid head coach, José Mourinho tells CNN a story about one of his former players at Inter Milan, Mario Balotelli. (With English Subtitles)
World Cup TITBITS... The World Cup is a huge stage for men, not boys. tonight you all expect Neymar, Jo and Fred to run riot for Brazil with backing from midfielders Oscar & Ramirez. But let me tell u something. Croatia (or Kolowesha like my Bemba friend used to call it during the days of Davor Suker & Zvonimir Boban) has never been a push over in football. ANd today they know they have adaring task, an almost impossible feat to beat Brazil at home... But hey, these guys have palyers; Remember Mario Mandzukic from Bayern Minich? You will see him today! IvicaOlic & Ivan Perisic fron FC Wolfsburg? Thats another duo from the Bundesliga alongside household name and midfield genius Luca Modric from Real Madrid in Spain. Unlike Zambia, they have no players from China and Malaysia. They also have Vedran Corluka (Lokomotiv Moscow), Southampton based Louren, Rebic & Sime from Italy, Kovacic from Inter Milan, Rakitic from Sevilla in France and a couple more for Hull City, Dinamo Zagreb, Dinamo Kiev, etc. So while t ...

Holland star Wesley Sneijder ditches football boots for boxing gear to get in shape for World Cup - Netherlands star Wesley Sneijder has got himself into shape ahead of the World Cup by training with kickboxer Gokhan Saki. The 30-year-old playmaker has 99 caps for his country but mid-season his participation at the World Cup was in doubt after a slump in form at Galatasaray. Manager Louis Van Gaal dropped the former Inter Milan and Real Madrid midfielder from his squad, prompting Sneijder to work harder. ‘With hindsight I can see that Van Gaal was right. I was not working enough. My level had gone down,’ admits Sneijder. With the go ahead of his club and Van Gaal, he began training with Saki and has reaped the rewards. Sneijder explained: ‘Thanks to him, I got back to my optimal weight, like when I was 22. In terms of footwork and agility, I am back to my old level. ‘It was explosive training. It has made me more explosive over the first few metres. I feel that I have benefited from it.’ Saki ad ...
Best Footballers Who Never Played At The World Cup - Some players achieve greatness for their clubs but never have the opportunity to represent their country at the highest level. This usually happens because their country failed to qualify or, as in the case of one German in this list, because of his disputes with his national football association. How would a World Cup have been remembered if Di Stefano, Weah, Best or Schuster had played? We will never know. 1. GEORGE BEST The incomparable Best played only 37 times for Northern Ireland and scored an unimpressive 10 international goals, but won two league titles and the European Cup with his beloved Manchester United while lighting up British football like no other before or since. Voted European player of the year in 1968 after helping United lift the European Cup, Best was the complete footballer. The man the Spanish media lauded 'El Beatle' after running Real Madrid ragged at the Bernabeu Stadium in the semi-finals of the European Cup, had supreme bal ...

Black Stars WILL CRASH OUT OF GROUP STAGE OF 2014 World Cup, Jose Mourinho PREDICTS Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has predicted that the Black Stars will crush out of the 2014 World Cup at the group stage. The Portugese trainer, who is a Yahoo Global Football Ambassador, believes no team will finish Group G without a point but expects Germany to top the pool with Portugal qualifying to the second round in second position. The former Inter Milan and Real Madrid trainer also expressed fear for his native Portugal in their Brazil 2014 Group G match against the USA on June 21st. Ghana has been drawn in Group G of the Brazil 2014 World Cup alongside Germany, USA and Portugal.
Chelsea or Juventus? Paul Pogba's future set to be decided after contract offer CHELSEA have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Juventus star Paul Pogba after the Italian outfit insisted they expect the Frenchman to commit to a new deal in the next few weeks. Chelsea are looking light in the middle of the park after losing Frank Lampard on a free transfer, while versatile defender David Luiz is on the brink of joining French champions Paris St-Germain for a whopping £50million. Jose Mourinho is keen to bring a world-class midfielder to Stamford Bridge this summer, and Express Sport revealed last weekend that the Special One wants one of Paul Pogba, Atletico Madrid's Koke or Tottenham's Paulinho to partner Serbian powerhouse Nemanja Matic next season. The former Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss had earmarked Pogba as his preferred choice, with some reports claiming a bid worth up to a staggering £68million was being prepared for the ex-Manchester United starlet. However Serie A toppers Juventus are a ...
PLAY LIKE REAL MADRID In soccer it appears that whatgoes around comes around. The domination of the well-drilled tiki taka possession teams has been so expertly picked apart in recent times that counterattacking football has made a major comeback. Possession, we now know, isn’t everything.Jose Mourinho gave a master class with Inter Milan back in 2010, taking apart Louis Van Gaal’s Bayern Munich side, but nowhere has the countering technique been better executed than at Real Madrid in the past few months.First there was the resoundingwin over Barcelona in the final of the Copa Del Rey, with a galloping Balegoal that has seen him nicknamed the Road Runner. Then there was the 4-0 demolition of Bayern, the heaviest defeat their coach, Pep Guardiola, has ever endured in European football. It seems Real’s quest for a 10th European Cup trophy, La Decima, is within their grasp.would make them even more vulnerable. With the pace of Ronaldo, Di Maria andBale, Real possess a counterattacking mechanism that tr ...
Last night's result has thrown up some fascinating reaction from people around the world. Real Madrid seem to have done an act of blasphemy by putting up such a stunning performance, not just last night but throughout the Champions League and most of the La Liga season.     Football fans who are not biased fanatics of a single team... (and lets be honest there will hardly be any from Atletico since the beginning of the season) seem to have found extreme loyalty for the Los Rojiblancos. And when you think of it, the underdogs have always received that.     It was Atletico Madrid this season, BVB Dortmund the last time, Bayern Munich twice the years before. Then there was Inter Milan who went on to win it in 09-10. Liverpool with their Istanbul comeback. Porto when Mourinho came in the limelight.     And these are just a few that I could think of.     Come to think of these examples and most of the times, all that these teams end up achieving is a single successful reason. There is no increased inco ...
Ashley Cole could be on his way to Real Madrid this summer, after the Spanish giants offered the departing Chelsea man a two-year deal reportedly worth a huge £10million. The left-back has admitted his Chelsea career looks as though it’s over, with Chelsea seeming to place more importance on securing new deals for Frank Lampard and John Terry. And according to the Metro, Real Madrid have already offered him a lucrative deal to take him to Spain, whilst Liverpool and Manchester United are also said to be keen. Inter Milan and Monaco have also both put their hats into the ring for the defender. Cole retired from international football last week after being snubbed by Roy Hodgson, who chose youngster Luke Shaw in his place. But the level of interest shows he is still regarded as a world-class defender by clubs across Europe, and is set for another couple of seasons at the top of the game.
Guess who is going to watch Real Madrid to play Inter Milan in the Memorial Stadium!!! no big deal
WHAT THE MEDIA SAYS: City reportedly chasing Real Madrid's Angel Di Maria, plus Inter Milan keen to land Alvaro Negredo? Read all about it: What do you make of today's transfer speculation?
Jose Mourinho’s confidence is never misplaced When he came out publicly and said that Chelsea were the little horses in the title race, he was subject to mockery and criticism. Nobody saw the Blues as the underdogs because of the amount of money they spend on players and also the quality of players they already have in the team. But Jose knew that Chelsea lack the final pieces in the jigsaw which will only be added after the transitional season. Hence his public denial of Chelsea as title fighters was pretty much accurate. This time around, the boss has nonchalantly stated that if Chelsea use the Transfer Window well, the Blues will be winning the league. He never backs down from his statements. He has the ego and self-respect tagged along with pride, which keeps him motivated to achieve his target. His second seasons have been strong ones with Real Madrid and Inter Milan as well. His second season with Chelsea was the best in Chelsea’s history. Such facts only give us more confidence in a very strong ...
WORDS WITH: JOSE MORAIS When Jose Mourinho returned to Chelsea last summer, there was just one key person involved in the preparation of the first team who needed an introduction. The manager and his methods were of course well known at Stamford Bridge and assistant first team coach Steve Holland, goalkeeper coach Christophe Lollichon and first team fitness coach Chris Jones provided continuity from the preceding seasons. Returning with Mourinho were his fellow Portuguese assistants Rui Faria and Silvino Louro, who have been with him from prior to his first time at Chelsea. However there was one new face in the backroom team as this season commenced, another Portuguese with a wide football experience from managing teams on different continents, including a national side. He first met Mourinho in the early days of their respective coaching careers, and joined him at Inter Milan where he assisted in the winning of the Champions League and domestic league and cup honours, and at Real Madrid where league and ...

He's the best motivator there has ever been, and there is no one like him - the best tactician of all time! Mourinho is a grand slam coach: Portugal Circuit - Won England Circuit - Won Italy Circuit - Won Spain Circuit - Won Champions League - Won X2 No coach comes close. None! Only Mourinho has the highest league points win in: Spain - 100 (Real Madrid with 121 goals) England 95 (Chelsea) Portugal 86 (Porto) The Treble in Inter Milan remains a record till date. Oh! Jose Mourinho - the Giant Slayer. The Dream Destroyer. The Special, Only and Happy One! It is about time haters should get used to loving Mourinho. Top Clubs That Would End This Season Trophy-less 1. Manchester United - No Champions League for them next season too. 2. Liverpool - Mourinho would see to that on the 27th. 3. Arsenal - Mourinho's jinx is still effective until goddess Athena is appeased. 4. Barcelona - They are third on the table and 4 points behind league leaders. 5. Atletico Madrid - Chelsea would see to that in UCL and Madrid in La Liga. 6. Borussia Dortmund - The team spirit is down. Tired legs abound. 7. AC Milan - It has been a usual occurrence in recent time. 8. Inter Milan - Since Mourinho left with his charm, Inter are at decline. Top Gainers 1. Chelsea - UCL & EPL. THREE Reasons Why Chelsea WILL Win The Champions League The semi-finalists for the Champions League are now confirmed - Chelsea will go up against one of Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid. The draw is on Friday, but whoever they get I think Chelsea will win the tournament. Here are three reasons why. 1) Jose Mourinho The Portuguese coach has vast experience across European football and knows exactly what is needed to win the competition. Mourinho won the Champions League against all odds whilst in charge of Porto, and then picked up the trophy when at Inter Milan. If there is one coach who you'd want in charge going into the Champions League semi-final it would be him. 2) Solid defence John Terry and Gary Cahill are one of the best central pairings I have seen this season. They are half of the Premier League's tightest defence and have proved to be a tough nut to crack in Europe. Atletico Madrid have Diego Costa, Real Madrid have Cristiano Ronaldo and Bayern Munich have a host of top-class att ...
I am not a Chelsea fan.(Proper Man Utd's)but I have followed over years the budding career of Chelsea Manager, Jose Mourinho; the self acclaimed "Special One" & now "Happy one" from d days he was a Portuguese interpreter at Barcelona for the Late Sir Bobby Robson, and then Manager at Porto,Chelsea, Inter Milan,Real Madrid & back at Chelsea. His arrogance was perturbing to say the least but his sense of awareness, focus and mission which he exhibited last nite in running that "Usain Bolt-like" race to pass instructions to his players was brilliant. Indeed he showed his worth and strength of character.
Jose Mourinho has never lost a quarter-final game in the Uefa Champions League, since his reigns at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and back to Chelsea.
The team that deserves to win the epl this season should be Liverpool I dont like Liverpool as a team but the only player I look up is Steven Gerrard whom has given so much to the team, he was there for Liverpool bad and good days even thou he had offer from clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea and Inter Milan but he stayed on Liverpool .I think he should retire with at least a Premier League medal.I would be happy to see him carrying the trophy this season! Coming from a united fan!
Said he would be perfect for Inter Milan or Real Madrid. Like 5 years ago. That's as delusional as it gets
Jose Mourinho says: I admires Arsenal for sticking with Arsene Wenger through 'a lot' of dark days. 'The tribute is to say we would love to have the same privilege with our clubs,' Mourinho said.' I admire Wenger and I admire Arsenal, a club that stands by their manager in bad moments - of which there were quite a lot. ''It's not against him. It's Chelsea against Arsenal. 'I didn't even play Arsenal with Inter Milan or with Real Madrid or with Porto, I just played with Chelsea. 'It's Chelsea-Arsenal, Arsenal-Chelsea, it's not me against him. 'Records don't play any role. A match is a match. It's not coach against coach, it's team against team.'

Simeone not scared of anyone as Atletico roll back the years • Argentine coach hails players after victory over AC Milan • Spanish side could draw Real Madrid or Barcelona in quarters When Atletico Madrid were knocked out in the Champions League quarter-finals by Ajax Amsterdam in 1997, midfielder Diego Simeone could scarcely have imagined it would be 17 years before they reached the last eight again. Almost two decades later, Simeone is now coaching the La Liga side and Tuesday's dominant 4-1 home victory against seven-times winners AC Milan, which put Atletico through to the quarter-finals 5-1 on aggregate, was the latest evidence he has moulded his unfancied squad into genuine European contenders. In much the same way as he did as a combative midfielder for Argentina and clubs including Atletico, Inter Milan and Lazio, Simeone's players harried and hassled Milan from the start and they looked dangerous nearly every time they broke forward. Application for the Wrexham FC job. Before I begin I want to apologize for my lay out of this letter, its been a while since I attended GCSE English so I am a little bit rusty. Lets begin, I am unemployed. I spend my days hoovering the house and refilling the dishwasher. I know what your thinking "What a loser" but this loser once had Paul Pogba playing for me under a talented Vauxhall Motors side I created on Football Manager, I seen something that whiskey faced jock "Alex Ferguson" never. I could spend hours talking you through my achievements on Football Manager but that wouldn't be fair to the other candidates whose only experience is managing lower league sides professionally. Compared to the teams I have managed like Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Liverpool etc, it just wouldn't be fair as well as being an absolute no brainer, I would be your guy. I have played at a decent standard myself and I am known as a terry butcher styled defender, I have a great footballing knowledge and could show your lot a tri ...
Wesley Sneijder Discusses Manchester United Transfer Legendary playmaker turned down Premier League move in the summer... Galatasaray's Dutch midfield supremo Wesley Sneijder has discussed Manchester United's interest in him during last summer, Sports Direct reports. The 29-year-old was once rated as one of the world's best playmakers, and while he is no longer at that elite level, he still has the talent and passing ability to compete for an elite club. Sneijder though, has reiterated his happiness in Turkey, despite the interest of various sides. "There were several clubs that wanted me, including Manchester United, but I had no intention of leaving and the company did not want to sell," said the Dutchman, formerly of Real Madrid and Inter Milan. "Leaving does not even enter your head. Here I feel at home." United badly need to strengthen their midfield, and clearly tried to bring in Sneijder before the season started. Instead, they signed Marouane Fellaini for huge money from Everton, and the Belgian m ...
Real Madrid will participate in the next running of the International Champions Cup and will have the opportunity to retain the title that they won last summer against Chelsea. The tournament will feature some of European football’s biggest teams including Manchester United, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Roma, Liverpool, Manchester City and Olympiacos. Cristiano Ronaldo will make his return to the tournament as current the Ballon d’Or holder and USA-based fans will be able to see him play live between 26th July and 4th August. Other players that will be involved in this exciting tournament are Agüero, Silva, Rooney, Luis Suárez and Ballotelli. The International Champions Cup will take place across the USA and there are ten venues confirmed so far: Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Washington DC and Miami, where the final will take place on 4th August at the Sun Life Stadium.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool will be among the eight European clubs to challenge for the 2014 Guinness International Cup, which takes place in the United States. Title holders Real Madrid and current Greek Super League leaders Olympiakos will also be involved, while Serie A trio AC Milan, Roma and Inter Milan complete the roster. The off-season tournament, which will take place in cities across the United States, will kick off after the World Cup in Brazil, with the opening game of the tournament starting on July 26, while the final will be on August 4. Real Madrid are the current champions after Cristiano Ronaldo's double led them to a 3-1 win over Chelsea in last year's inaugural final, and the Galacticos will have the chance to repeat that feat, should they make it to this year's showpiece encounter at Miami's Sun Life Stadium. The line-up could, however, be forced into a change should the Red Devils need to take part in Europa League qualifying as they struggle to keep up with the ...
Masseur. Chelsea's New Motivation? Chelsea may have found a new motivation in masseur Billy McCulloch Having beaten Manchester City 1-0 on monday night, Chelsea now sit just 2 points off front runners Arsenal and are level with Manchester City themselves. But who masterminded this vital victory? Jose Mourinho, after the game, revealed that their very own masseur Billy McCulloch gave their team talk, prior to going on to win the game with a clinical strike from Branislav Ivanovic. This leads many to wonder: is Jose Mourinho all he's cracked up to be? Or is this another of his infamous mind games? The former Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid boss said: 'I didn't speak. It was Billy the masseur that spoke to the team. He was screaming so much in Scottish I didn't undeerstand him.' 'I am serious. But the players were clapping. It was Billy's team-talk. The last time I spoke to the players was midday.' So has Mourinho been trying to toy with the minds of his rivals? Or has he genuinely lost the motivation wit ...
Hehehe Jose Mourinho famous quotes Jose Mourinho's famous quotes 1 - On a Chelsea injury crisis: "It's like having a blanket that is too small for the bed. You pull the blanket up to keep your chest warm and your feet stick out. I cannot buy a bigger blanket because the supermarket is closed. But the blanket is made of cashmere." 2 - On Lionel Messi’s involvement in Chelsea defender Asier del Horno’s red card: "How do you say cheating in Catalan?" - On Barcelona ‘cheating’ in a Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid: "One day I would like Josep Guardiola (then coach of Barcelona) to win this competition properly. “If I tell Uefa what I really think and feel, my career would end now. Instead I will just ask a question to which I hope one day to get a response: Why?” 4 - On Rafael Benitez’s Inter Milan winning the Club World Cup, a trophy the Italians qualified for by winning the Champions League under Mourinho: “I thought he was going to thank me for the title I gave him. Watched a lot of football today. Liverpool v West Brom, Arsenal v Crystal Palace, Juventus v Inter Milan and the end of Real Madrid v Atletico Bilbao. I guess there was another "football" game today too but I passed on that. Ha ha Seyton. Happy for Pete Carol. Any weekend that results in a Man U loss is a good one.
FACE MANCITY TUESDAY, SOOO AS USUAL WE LOOK AT THEIR STADIUM AND A FEW THINGS. Aguero is injured. Maybe its good for us. The 2001 to 2011 history of the club has been marked by stability, with the club establishing itself as a Premier League regular since 2002. The club was taken over in 2007 by Thaksin Shinawatra , who invested a considerable portion of money into the club with Sven-Göran Eriksson. After being arrested for political corruption in the summer of 2008, Shinawatra had to sell the club. 2008 The Abu Dhabi United Group become the new owners of Manchester City. Jose Mourinho plays down title chances Portuguese manager happy with progress, but doesn't think title is theirs Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has played down his side's chances of winning the Premier League title this season, but he insists that he is happy with the progress his team is making. The Blues boss made his return to English football this Summer after a few years away with Inter Milan and then Real Madrid, and since his return to Stamford Bridge, he has made several changes to the side Rafael Benitez left behind. Several new faces in and a couple of out-ones out have given Chelsea a new image and despite Mourinho being happy with the progress, he still doubts his side's ability to go all the way and win the title. When asked about their chances of winning it, Mourinho replied with: "I don't think so. I think we have to drink champagne because we are improving. I think we are improving a lot. The team and the players, so the perspectives of champagne in the future are good. I think we are going ...

Inter Milan's left back Yuto Nagatomo is in the sights of both Manchester United & Real Madrid
A creative player such as Mata should help one of their problems, but Moyes is also keen to add two defensive players, with Basel centre-back Fabian Schar and Inter Milan left-back Yuto Nagatomo believed to be his main priorities. Long-time target Leighton Baines looks close to signing a new contract at Everton, but United are now focused on fighting off interest from Real Madrid for the signing of Nagatomo in the left full-back slot. Schar, a promising young centre-back, could be a crucial signing after some indifferent form from Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic this season.

DATES SET FOR Champions League TIE The draw for the Round of 16 stage of the Champions League paired Chelsea with Galatasaray. The away leg is first, on Wednesday 26 February. We then host Galatasaray in London on Tuesday 18 March. That match against the Turkish champions will bring Didier Drogba back to Stamford Bridge. We played the Istanbul club during our first Champions League season in 1999, beating them twice in the first group stage, 1-0 at Stamford Bridge with a Dan Petrescu goal and 5-0 away, which remains our best away result in the competition. Tore Andre Flo with two, Gianfranco Zola , Dennis Wise and Gabriele Ambrosetti were the scorers that night. This season, Galatasaray finished second in their group behind Real Madrid by beating Juventus at home in their final group game, played in two parts due to snow in Turkey. They are managed by Roberto Mancini and have Wesley Sneijder, who won the Champions League with Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan, in their squad. They are currently third in the Tu ...
Jose Mourinho admits Chelsea could end up winning nothing this season - which would be the first trophyless campaign of his career. Mourinho has won silverware every year he has been in work for the last decade, at Porto, in his first spell at Chelsea, then Inter Milan and Real Madrid. No Chelsea boss has ever been spared the axe by owner Roman Abramovich if they failed to win a trophy - and some have been sacked even if they did win silverware. And Mourinho admits failing to add a trophy to the Chelsea cabinet this season would fall short of his employer's expectations. He said: "Last season was the worst I have had - at Real. We only won the Spanish Super Cup.It was not much, but it was something. "Would it be acceptable to win nothing this season, what with my personal approach, my philosophy and the nature of this club? No, it's not acceptable. "But it's possible it could happen. We're competing with very important teams in the Champions League and domestically. "I'm not happy.

World Cup FIFA draw on Friday will mean that England could face Brazil, Uruguay, Real Madrid or Inter Milan.
I know everyone got angry when Nani got a red card last season against Real Madrid, but who remembers 2009/10 Champions League quarter final vs Bayern Munich at Old Trafford? When we went 3-0 up and then they got a goal back, we still looked comfortable and Rafael had Ribery in his pocket, but Rafael tackled Ribery, he reacted and he got Rafael sent off, and then Robben scored to make it 3-2 and Bayern went through on away goals? That makes me angrier than the one against Real Madrid because realistically we had more of a chance to win the Champions League that year against Inter Milan in the final. Its random but yea it makes me angrier than last season's one -SP
Arsenal is the first team to beat Juventus, Inter Milan, Real Madrid ,AC Milan , Bayern Munich & Borussia Dortmund at Home.
La Liga: Barcelona vs. Real Madrid: 2-1. Entertaining match with questionable decisions. However, Alexis Sanchez goal was simply amazing. Neymar was impressive too in his debut in the clasico. At least J.Rodriguez got the consolation goal for Real Madrid. As for Serie A: I'm happy Inter Milan won 4-2 against Hellas Verona to get closer to the top of the standings. Jonathan, Palacio, Cambiasso and Rolando scored for Inter. But tonight's headlines belong to Game 3 of the 2013 World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Boston Red Sox. What a rare controversial way to end the game in the bottom of the 9th. St. Louis got a lucky win with that obstruction decision. I don't think there was intent from the Boston player to block the Cardinals player as he was lying down from the previous play. The obstruction rule should be based on whether there's intent or not on obstructing the player. If it's not intentional then the game should continue which would be an out in home plate. Game 4 is on Sunday. St. Loui ...

Swansea’s Laudrup was Chelsea’s preferred choice ahead of Mourinho News that may shock Blues fans. Despite the hero status Jose Mourinho has at Chelsea, it was actually Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup that the Blues approached first to take over as manager this summer. Mourinho came back to Stamford Bridge following a six year absence managing Inter Milan and Real Madrid and was well received by fans who had enjoyed the success that the 50-year-old had brought last time round. However, it turns out that the hierarchy at the west London club actually wanted Laudrup to take the hot seat, after the Dane had enjoyed a great first term with the Swans. “Someone from Chelsea wanted to know about my availability, but there was never anything concrete,” the 49-year-old was quoted by ITV. “Either way, I had already given Swansea my word that I would be not be leaving.” Laudrup guided the Welsh side to their first ever major trophy in 2012/13 when Swansea lifted the League Cup – beating Chelsea in th ...

Mourinho, Mikel Fall Apart -Coach’s New Tactics Threaten Eagles Star Another angle has cropped up in unfolding reports about the likelihood of Super Eagles midfielder, John Mikel Obi staging an exit from Chelsea of England this summer, as EPL observers believe the Nigerian star will not fit into new tactics that are about to be introduced at Stamford Bridge by returnee gaffer, Jose Mourinho. This is sequel to observations that Mikel may not fit into the new approach Mourinho wants to introduce to the team, as the ex-FC Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid handler has declared that his second spell as Chelsea boss will be marked with an attacking approach. However, with Mikel known to have perfected the style of sting just in front of the back-four, in Mourinho’s famous counter-attack approach during his previous spell with Chelsea, soccer experts are now apprehensive of the former Lyn Oslo of Norway star’s ability to fit into the coach’s forthcoming new attack-oriented approach. It is now left to be ...

Chelsea are plotting a £10million raid to make Roma star Daniele de Rossi their new midfield general. Returning Blues manager Jose Mourinho is seeking to reinforce the engine room of the side he has inherited from Rafa Benitez , with John Obi Mikel's Stamford Bridge future now in grave doubt. And the Chelsea boss is set to try to take advantage of de Rossi's fall-out with his boyhood club to lure the Italy ace to the Premier League. De Rossi has been labelled Roma's "future captain" for most of the past decade, but fell foul of former boss Zdenek Zeman last season before the Czech was sacked. The Stadio Olimpico fans also turned on de Rossi, who turns 30 this month, leaving the defensive midfielder increasingly disaffected. Mourinho tried to buy de Rossi during his spells in charge of Inter Milan and Real Madrid, while Manchester City were desperate to sign him during Roberto Mancini's reign. Now, after Roma president James Pallotta confirmed "everybody is on the market" following the club's failure to q ...

Jose Mourinho reveals that he tried to sign Chelsea midfielder Ramires during his spells as coach at Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
Mourinho lays down the law to Blues (PA) Saturday 15 June 2013 Jose Mourinho will warn all of his Chelsea squad to do it his way next season or leave Stamford Bridge. Chelsea secured back-to-back Premier League titles under Mourinho's last regime in addition to winning the FA Cup and also the League Cup twice. Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who is very close to Mourinho, often lamented the rise of player power within the modern game and the Portuguese sees no issue with maintaining the image of the club during his second tenure after agreeing a four-year deal to return following his departure from Real Madrid. "What Sir Alex says in relation to football and management is doctrine, it is the bible, so if he says that (about player power) with so many years of experience, I think he is correct," said the new Chelsea boss. Mourinho, who won the Uefa Champions League for a third time when manager at Inter Milan after leaving England, continued: "There is something I say whenever I go to a ...

Mourinho: I'm still special Jose Mourinho claims you have to be a winner to be considered "special" and feels he fits that mould as he returns to Chelsea. The Portuguese coach is preparing for a second stint at the Stamford Bridge helm six years after an initial trophy-laden spell in London came to a close. Since leaving English shores, Mourinho has landed league titles in Italy and Spain and tasted Champions League glory with Inter Milan. Things did not work out as planned during three years at Real Madrid, resulting in his exit from the Bernabeu, but the self-proclaimed 'Special One' insists he is still on top of his game as he readies himself for another shot at the Premier League. Mourinho told The Sun: "The expression is mine, that's obvious. When I arrived at Chelsea I said I was special because I had won the Champions League with Porto. "To be a champion, it's necessary to have a special talent. "Being special is working to the maximum of your ability and motivation, being good with yourself in all ...
Barcelona star launches scathing attack on Chelsea’s Mourinho Barcelona star Xavi has laid into new Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho for the 50-year-old’s three-year tenure at Real Madrid. The play-maker was not entirely happy with the way Mourinho conducted himself on and off the pitch and doesn’t necessarily think he was a good influence at the Santiago Bernabeu, or on La Liga as a whole. “I obviously don’t like the football his sides play,” Xavi was quoted in Marca. “It was frustrating to see them play because they had an idea and a concept of play. Incredible players like Zidane, Roberto Carlos and others,” “[Under Mourinho] it bears no resemblance and he has left no legacy for the future”. It is a scathing attack on the Portuguese boss and is in stark contrast of what many have said about the manager in the last decade and also how revered Mourinho is at the Blues. Yet the midfielder is clearly unhappy with the way the former Inter Milan and FC Porto man conducted himself in Spain an ...
Chelsea FC: The Tactical Changes That Mourinho Can Bring When Jose Mourinho walks into a club, the management and the supporters of the club expects to see many apparent changes taking place. But one of the very vital effects that the people wish for Mourinho to have on the team is the tactical makeover he could bring in with him. During his first tenure, Mourinho steered the club to domestic glory and established it as an European superpower with his brilliant tactical strategies. In 2007, Jose Mourinho, the visionary, employed the 4-2-3-1 tactic while the English clubs were still restrained to the 4-4-2 strategy. And this provided instant success to him as the depth of the squad increases manifold with this formation because the 2 in the midfield can drop back when necessary and also move forward when the team is leading the attack. Mourinho continued with the same attacking system throughout his Inter Milan days and then at Real Madrid where he had a player like Xabi Alonso at the heart of the midfield ...
Football's greatest firestarter is back... but is he ready for the new Chelsea? And so by popular demand: the Special One II. Jose Mourinho swaggers back to Stamford Bridge as a gun-smoked action man in search of his sequel, striding through wreckage as Real Madrid burns in the distance beside the smouldering remains of Inter Milan. Mourinho rarely goes quietly, and three divisive years at Madrid ended with a blaze of flashbulbs at the Bernabeu. Some have wondered openly about his state of mind but there will be no rest. It is straight to Chelsea, his homeland where a heroic reputation is utterly unblemished among fans even if, behind closed doors, people still talk of his less appealing methods of manipulation and control. Mourinho will squeeze the life from a club in pursuit of his own needs, according to his critics, and he will deliver charm and confrontation in equal measure. In return, his team will compete. You know what you’re getting with him these days but he will find subtle differences in th ...

MOURINHO'S CONTROVERSIES February 2005: After Chelsea's 2-1 defeat against Barcelona in the first leg of their last-16 clash, Mourinho wrongly accused Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard of visiting referee Anders Frisk at half- time. Mourinho was fined £8,900, given a two-match touchline ban and called an "enemy of football" by the head of Uefa's referees committee Volker Roth. March 2005: Mourinho was fined £5,000 after he alleged Manchester United players were guilty of "fault and fault and cheat and cheat" during a Carling Cup semi-final clash.
