somehow I have heard this before...like 1980's...1990's, 2000. Nadal Fears The Continuing Of Power Tennis Power-player Rafael Nadal fears for the future of tennis, with mindless bashing of the ball ready to bury any subtleties still remaining in the game. The Spaniard who has reached the fourth round and faces Kevin Anderson, said that he thinks he might not recognize the sport in the coming years. Nadal, 28, cut the template for a more physical style, which has taken a toll on even his robust physique. His play is in sharp contrast to the effortless grace of Roger Federer or the rubber-man retrieving of number one Novak Djokovic, his current main rivals. But Nadal has his doubts about a tennis future comprising nothing but bashing balls back and forth until someone makes an error. "That seems to be the logic of this New Generation of players (Nick Kyrgios, Milos Raonic and others). it is the reality that I see. "I don't know 'what matches will look like in a few years. Southern California Tour Day 4 (7 July) Part 2 Yesterday I saw some of our players with poor body language such as head, shoulder down or racket head down. During our daily evening meeting I firmly told everyone that poor body language is totally unacceptable because it is a sign of defeat. I asked everyone if they ever see Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal walks around the court with poor body language such as dragging their racket or with shoulder down? The answer is definitely NO. Body language is part of the battle and as competitive players we should not give out hint that we are in trouble. However most importantly our body language could affect what we really feel inside our mind. Therefore positive body language would normally give positive attitude and mind set, and negative body language would provide us the exact opposite feeling. How can we win the battle if we feel negative inside? Before we can win the battle against our opponent we have to first conquer ourselves. Tomorrow will be another excit ...

Canada has fallen in love with Genie Bouchard, and fairly so, but we need to recognize how incredibly Milos Raonic has played lately – and not just in Wimbledon. The men's game is the deepest it's ever been. The Top 4 of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and Roger Federer would be a Top 4 in any era. If Raonic had beaten the sport's all-time greatest in Federer today, he still would have had to play arguably the world's best in Djokovic. Next time, it could be Murray or Nadal again. His future is extremely bright, even it it looks like he's stuck in the present.

Last year's Wimbledon was the most unpredictable in memory. Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova - owners of a combined 10 titles at the All England Club - were all gone by the end of the second round. Five-time champion Serena Williams left in the fourth. Add in the record-equaling withdrawals or mid-match retirements because of health problems. And to cap it all, Andy Murray finally gave Britain the men's champion it had wanted for more than three-quarters of a century. What might 2014 have in store? Here are five things to watch at Wimbledon, where play begins Monday: 'MURRESMO': The pairing of Murray and his new coach, Amelie Mauresmo, was quickly dubbed ''Murresmo,'' and their partnership is sure to draw a lot of notice. For one thing, Murray won the grass-court Grand Slam tournament - the first British man in 77 years to do so - with Ivan Lendl in his corner a year ago. For another, it's unusual for a top male tennis player to be coached by a woman. But Murray was coached for years by his ...

Murray, Djokovic on semis collision course - 20 June 2014, 13:19 Defending champion Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic, the man he beat in 2013 to capture Britain's first Wimbledon title in 77 years, on Friday landed in the same half of this year's draw, leaving Roger Federer the biggest winner. Murray, who has been seeded three, could face top-seeded Djokovic in the last four while seven-time champion Federer, the fourth seed, is scheduled to renew his rivalry with world No 1 Rafael Nadal in the semifinals. But Nadal, the 2008 and 2010 champion, has been seeded second this year after losing in the first round in 2013 and getting knocked out in the second round 12 months earlier. The 28-year-old Spaniard, who won a ninth French Open earlier this month, has already expressed fears over whether or not his famously brittle knees will stand up to two weeks of grasscourt tennis. His mood will not have been helped by the draw which lined him up for a possible second round clash against big-hitting Czech Lukas Ros . ...

Rafael Nadal is great, but Roger Federer still has more Grand Slams. He's the GOAT in my opinion.
Roger Federer's 5 Most Unbreakable Records Federer has regained his spot at the top of the world rankings and now has the all-time record for most weeks at the top. No one knows how many more weeks he will spend there before finally passing on the reins for good. Those reins may go to Nadal, Djokovic or even Andy Murray, who made an impressive showing However, some of the records Roger is leaving behind will never be broken by any of his successors. Five such records in particular are unlike anything else accomplished in the sport of tennis It is a testament to Federer's consistency and longevity that his all-time record of 17 Grand Slam wins is fifth on this list. His Grand Slam wins record is often viewed as the most important to the game and the one that sets him apart as the greatest of all time. While this is true, it is not his most dominant record. As a Federer fan, it's disappointing to see him go out so early in a major, but I'm glad he's still playing. In the never-ending G.O.A.T. debate, I think there's no question that Roger Federer has had the greatest career ever (at this point), but if I needed one man to play one match with my life on the line, I'd send Rafael Nadal in his prime.

1 weekend...2 freakishly amazing matches...Real Madrid vs Athletico Madrid Saturday night and Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals on Sunday evening. What a weekend...both nail-biters...both superb finishes and both teams with huge (Galactico) stars won. What a sports weekend. And people say keep calm...heart was racing every freaking minute watching the matches. Hats off to all 4 teams for the entertainment...I guess the only thing missing for the perfect sports weekend was an ATP final between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer / Novak Djokovic.

The French Open always presents a unique test. The second major of the season is the only one contested on clay, which requires a different skill set. It also starts a very busy stretch that continues through Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. Players are focused on setting a positive tone they can build from in the months ahead. Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams were the stars who accomplished that goal last year with triumphs at Roland Garros. It was Nadal's eighth French championship and Williams' second. Both the Spaniard and the American return with hope of defending their titles. There are 127 other players on each side looking to end those dreams. Have a lot of question that Rafael Nadal really takes the drugs?? I'm not interest to talk about this disgusting matte though most of report saying he takes the drugs during the match. By the way, Rafa won 13 Grand Slams. Only Rafa can beat Roger Federer seventeen Grand Slams title if he takes French Open. Otherwise it's huge dificult to beat Roger record. Cause of his age already 28 years and also suffering knee injury. . . Novak Djokovic, it is high time to gain French Open. He really deserves to collect al Grand Slam titles. . . And best wishes Roger Federer. I just hope that that you can win which you want. You'll give a gift to you son.

Stanislas Wawrinka and Rafael Nadal were once again creating Bizarro-history at the 2014 Monte Carlo Masters. Guess who is once again holding the trophy? It was a fantastic week of clay-court action at perhaps the most beautiful venue in all of tennis. And it witnessed wonderful success by the likes of David Ferrer and Roger Federer. Two shocking stories really dominated the week and could have repercussions through the French Open. Nadal was mortal at Monte Carlo, and Novak Djokovic can only hope to recover from his loss. Dive into the Monte Carlo-aftermath edition of the "Winners and Losers" of tennis. This is where we examine the unusual, disappointing and triumphant happenings in tennis.
Tennis:Rafael Nadal and Mats Wilanderare the only two players in history who have won at least two Grand Slam titles on three different surfaces—hard court, grass, and clay. By winning the 2013 French Open, Nadal became the only male player to win a single Grand Slam tournament eight times and the first to win at least one Grand Slam tournament for nine consecutive years, breaking the record of eight consecutive years previously shared by Björn Borg, Pete Sampras, and Roger Federer

Djokovic closes in on Nadal Berlin - Novak Djokovic closed in on top-ranked Rafael Nadal in the latest men's tennis rankings issued on Monday by the ATP, thanks to beating the Spaniard for the Miami Masters title. Djokovic halved a deficit of almost 4 000 points four weeks ago with his second career Indian Wells/Miami title double, and on 11 810 points is now less than 2 000 points behind Nadal, who has 13 730. The Serb Djokovic beat Nadal in straight sets Sunday for his fourth Miami trophy. He won in Indian Wells a fortnight ago. Today marks the 10 year anniversary of the birth of the greatest rivalry in men's tennis history. It was a 3rd round match at Miami in 2004. Top seed and player Roger Federer lost to a relatively unknown Rafael Nadal - the tournaments 32nd seed. Their next match would come exactly a year later in the Miami final where Roger exacted his revenge. That would be the last time Roger would tie their head-to-head: at 1-1. From that point Rafa would cruise. At present the H2H is 23-10 for Rafa. And don't give me this "yea but a lot of those matches were on clay crap" as 10 of Rafa's wins are on other surfaces AND shouldn't the greatest of all time have more wins over Rafa on clay anyway? These two are also responsible for playing what is widely considered the greatest match of all time: the 2008 Wimbledon final. Including rain delays it was an 8 hour affair with my boy Rafa winning 9-7 in the 5th. Of their 33 matches I've watched at least 30 of them and watching this rivalry the last 10 years has been a pure plea ...

Jack’s Tennis Tip – Racket talent or athletic ability? I have a theory that you can put tennis players (any player) into one of two categories. They either fall under the category of 'racket talented' or 'athlete.' I made up this theory quite a while ago but I still think it is valid. There are a few players that confuse me but for the most part I think my theory holds true. Obviously the lines blur in some instances and without a doubt all of the players on the professional tour are racket talented and supremely athletic too, but bear with me; Rafael Nadal - athlete Novak Djokovic - athlete Stanislas Wawrinka - racket talented Juan Martin Del Potro - racket talented David Ferrer - athlete Andy Murray - athlete Tomas Berdych - racket talented Roger Federer - racket talented Richard Gasquet - racket talented Jo-Wilfried Tsonga - athlete Kei Nishikori - racket talented Gael Monfils - athlete Milos Raonic - racket talented John Isner - racket talented Grigor Dimitrov - racket talented Serena Williams - A ...

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal:The only important players in America
Swiss press lauds Wawrinka 27 January By SAPA Lausanne – The Swiss press on Monday hailed the “impossible exploit” of newly-crowned Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka, who has finally come out of the shadows of more illustrious compatriot Roger Federer. The Swiss, who also upset three-time defending champion Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals, capped a magnificent fortnight in Melbourne with his 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win over Rafael Nadal for his first major title. “Giant,” headlined Le Matin, including a signed poster of the player inside a 14-page spread dedicated to the “triumph” of the native of Saint-Barthelemy, a village which was renamed “Stan-Barthelemy” by its mayor on Sunday. “Stantastic”, read the “Neue Zuericher Zeitung”. “Anyone who would have said 13 months ago that Wawrinka would shortly win a Grand Slam title, would probably have been classified as insane,” the Zurich daily said. If Wawrinka had until recently lived in the shadow of 17-time Grand Slam ...

HEADLINES Juan Mata has moved a step closer to a reported £37million move to Manchester United. Chelsea have wasted little time in looking to replace the Spaniard, having agreed a fee with Basle for highly-rated Liverpool target Mohamed Salah. And in tennis, Rafael Nadal will meet Stanislas Wawrinka in the Australian Open Final after victory over Roger Federer. We start with Juan Mata however, and the attacking midfielder’s shock move to Old Trafford from Chelsea. A deal is yet to be completed, but it’s thought that the former Valencia playmaker is flying to the champions to complete a medical late on Friday. Jose Mourinho won’t be light of a player for long though, after the Blues confirmed they had agreed a fee for 21-year-old Egyptian international Mohamad Salah. Liverpool had been courting the versatile right-winger earlier this month, but Chelsea appear to have won the race for a fee in the region of £11million. Neither player will be in action this weekend, with the FA Cup fourth round takin ...

This Sunday will almost surely put Rafael Nadal's mark of Slam Championships at 14, tying the immortal Pete Sampras and putting him a mere three titles from catching Roger Federer for the all time lead, and this is something most people are choosing not to discuss openly in public, most likely due to the fact that Federer is still playing competitively. With respects to Roy Emerson, Rod Laver, Björn Borg, and Jimmy Conners, most experts would rank these three, in some order, as tennis's all-time great players. However, a further review would put the order in a rather surprising fashion. First, a look at Slam wins. Federer has won the Australian Open four times, Roland Garros once, Wimbledon seven times, and the US Open five times, for a total of 17 Slam victories. Sampras has won the Australian twice, never the French, seven Wimbledons, and five US Opens, for a total of 14. Assuming Nadal wins on Sunday as the heavy favorite against even a confident Wawrinka, he would be the holder of two Australian Open ...

Like someone rightly said, stop making stupid people famous. Rafael Nadal has buried Roger Federer and it is a fact. I again see some stupid comments from a foolhardy Pete Sampras praising Wimbledon and not recognising the hard work of Rafael Nadal. Why cannot these jokers understand that others Grand Slams do deserve equal respect as Wimbledon? Is it because he won more Wimbledon and lost miserably in Rolland Garros or has Wimbledon simply paid more money to bark this way?

Roger Federer has railed against Rafael Nadal's loud grunting and slow play after he tumbled out of the Australian Open.
Blistering Nadal bursts Federer's bubble as Spaniard plays through the pain to reach Aussie Open final. Rafael Nadal put himself in sight of making yet more history as a brutally effective performance abruptly halted Roger Federer's revival at the Australian Open. The 27-year-old Spaniard is one victory away from becoming the first player in the modern era to win each Grand Slam twice after beating the great Swiss 7-6, 6-3, 6-4 in their semi-final. Watched by two all-time greats, Rod Laver and Pete Sampras, he knocked over another by registering his fifth consecutive win over Federer. Not even the continuing problems with blisters on the palm of his left hand could divert him from his task, and they are unlikely to stop him winning Sunday's final against the tournament's surprise package Stanislas Wawrinka, over who he has a 12-0 career record. A win would put him level with Sampras on 14 Grand Slam titles. A year ago Nadal was still waiting to make his comeback from long-term knee problems, yet here is, ...

Who better to comment on a match-up between two of the best players to ever grace the tennis court than another one of the all-time greats. 'Pistol' Pete Sampras previews Roger Federer v Rafael Nadal. - 2014 Australian Open Tennis Championships
24th, January 2014 Well, I started being keen on watching Tennis when Rafael Nadal came out the court. At this time, Roger Federer was like a king of Tennis Kingdom. Roger dominated all the tournaments, all the Grand Slams, all the super series he joined, so, I always tried to applaused any tennis players who could defeat Roger. Andy Roddick, Marat Safin, sometimes in their careers, ever beated Roger, but Roger was still someone who was extremely difficult to be defeated. And one day, Rafael came to the tennis world , and he quickly became a big ocstacle of Roger. Rafael has been the reason why in Roger's career, he just only got one Roland Garros, a tournament taken place in Rafael's favorite court. Gradually, Rafael has challenged Roger in every tournaments. Rafael is one of the very rare tennis player who has more win matches than Roger when they play with each other.  Someone claims that the reason why Rafael can beat Roger so many times is Rafael came to the tennis when Roger was not on the top of t ...
