1962 – In the first Farm Gate combat missions, T-28 fighter-bombers are flown in support of a South Vietnamese outpost under Viet Cong attack. By the end of the month, U.S. Air Force pilots had flown 229 Farm Gate sorties. Operation Farm Gate was initially designed to provide advisory support to assist the South Vietnamese Air Force in increasing its capability. The 4400th Combat Crew Training Squadron arrived at Bien Hoa Airfield in November 1961 and began training South Vietnamese Air Force personnel with older, propeller-driven aircraft. In December, President John F. Kennedy expanded Farm Gate to include limited combat missions by the U.S. Air Force pilots in support of South Vietnamese ground forces. By late 1962, communist activity and combat intensity had increased so much that President Kennedy ordered a further expansion of Farm Gate. In early 1963, additional aircraft arrived and new detachments were established at Pleiku and Soc Trang. In early 1964, Farm Gate was upgraded again with the arri ...

I know the Bible teaches us to love one another but it is hard to even like a Person who is Blinded by Politics and will defend someone regardless of what they do if they are from the same Party, President Bush did quite a few things I didn't agree with and I said so at the time, and I have only voted for 1 Democrat in my life and that was President Kennedy and I never regretted it. Bobby Kennedy was a great attorney General and eric holder would not make a Freckle on Bobbys Butt.and now we have a man that has tried to destroy the constitution of the United States over and over again and we have people Defending his every move only because of politics and that is so sick, and some want to change the constitution, and to those I have only a few words, if you don't like it you are not obligated to stay here, you can leave at any time and it is the Constitution that guarantees your freedom to do so, one of the 1st things Obama did was return the Bust of one of the World's Greatest Statesman, Sir Winston Chu ...

I wrote this in Honor of Cuban friends that still live in Cuba. Many Americans have forgot or don’t care to know how our government was involved in the Cuban Revolution that overthrew the Corrupt Government of Fulgencio Batista. Our government was explicit in what I call the, ‘Two Hand Operation’. First Hand, the US backed the corrupt Regime of Batista. Second Hand, at the same time, supported the effort of Fidel Castro to overthrow the corrupt Regime of Batista, after washing the First Hand clean. I like to use the old standard saying of, a ‘Wishy Washy’ Operation. "I believe that there is no country in the world including any and all the countries under colonial domination, where economic colonization, humiliation and exploitation were worse than in Cuba, in part owing to my country’s policies during the Batista regime. I approved the proclamation which Fidel Castro made in the Sierra Maestra, when he justifiably called for justice and especially yearned to rid Cuba of corruption. I will eve ...
if there was one thing President Kennedy stood for that touched the most profound feelings of young people around the world, it was the belief that idealism, high aspirations, and deep convictions are not incompatible with the most practical and efficient of programs-that there is no basic inconsistency between ideals and realistic possibilities, no separation between the deepest desires of heart and of mind and the rational application of human effort to human problems. "The American Dream" by Albert Vitela assemblaged mixed media 16 x 18 "s This is a history painting using my own design and assembled pieces from magazine collages. The idea behind it is about the Vietnam war, and how this changed the idealism of the United States of America into a confused unrecognizable shell of itself. A quick lesson in US History. May of you(and some of your parents may not know all the big deal about CUBA.' In 1961 it was learned the Soviet Union(RUSSIA) had placed Nuclear missiles in Cuba, 90 miles from the United States. For 4 days in October 1961, there was a standoff. President Kennedy put a naval blockade around the island of Cuba to deny Russia the chance to send more missiles. The Soviets had missiles on ships headed for Cuba, a nation which was controlled by Communist Fidel Castro. His brother Raul is now in control. I specifically remember sitting as an 11 yr old in a class, wondering if I was going home that afternoon, because a Soviet ship was going to be stopped by a US Navy vessel at 10:30 that morning. NUCLEAR WAR was imminent. 15 minutes before the confrontation the Soviet(Russian ) ship turned around, left the area. In History books called the Cuban Missile Crisis. Younger generations many think this is no big deal, let Obama "normalize relations" with Cuba and return it to the touris ...

Nov 22, 1963: 51 Years Ago Today John F. Kennedy assassinated at 12:30 Dealey Plaza Dallas Texas. John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States, is assassinated while traveling through Dallas, Texas, in an open-top convertible. First lady Jacqueline Kennedy rarely accompanied her husband on political outings, but she was beside him, along with Texas Governor John Connally and his wife, for a 10-mile motorcade through the streets of downtown Dallas on November 22. Sitting in a Lincoln convertible, the Kennedys and Connallys waved at the large and enthusiastic crowds gathered along the parade route. As their vehicle passed the Texas School Book Depository Building at 12:30 p.m., Lee Harvey Oswald allegedly fired three shots from the sixth floor, fatally wounding President Kennedy and seriously injuring Governor Connally. Kennedy was pronounced dead 30 minutes later at Dallas' Parkland Hospital. He was 46. Vice President Lyndon Johnson, who was three cars behind President Kennedy in the mo ...

The 1960's were the most turbulent period of social change in our nation's history. At times it felt like the fabric of America was being ripped in several directions. 1962 brought the tensest moment in US history. During the 14 days of the Cuban Missle Crisis, President Kennedy's diplomacy prevented the deepest fear of millions: nuclear war. In 1963, the nation lost its innocence when president John F. Kennedy was Assassinated in Dallas, Texas. The Vietnam War divided America. Pegged as war against the spread of communism, many questioned if the cost in American lives was justified. In the 1960's Civil Rights became an issue that could no longer be avoided. The bravery of Rosa Parks gave oppressed Americans hope and Martin Luther King Jr. struggled peacefully for the equality of all races. Tragically, King was assassinated in 1968 and Robert Kennedy who challenged Americans to get up and change their life for the better was assassinated later that year. The sixties came to a triumphant close in 1969 when ...

Seven Jewish Americans Control Most US Media From John Whitley 11-21-3 From southern France, Christopher Jones summarizes and comments on a report on the assassination of President Kennedy. Need I stress that WAIS censors only direct attacks on other WAISers and grossly improper laguage. Christopher says: "I glanced at the Kennedy assassination site and found this; it fits into our discussion of Hollywood stereotypes and the slavish behavior of the US press after the 9/11 tragedy and in the run up to the invasion of Iraq. In a quick rundown, the website recapitulates an old story that I heard back in the late sixties and early seventies in California: that Kennedy was liquidated by the mafia whose kingpin was Meyer Lansky (pal of Lucky Luciano). In fact, I could add a small tidbit which the author may or may not have covered: that Marilyn Monroe was murdered by the mafia as a warning to her lovers; Bobby and Jack Kennedy. The story of the Corsican hit squad was documented in a TV documentary in Europe. Of ...

You would be amazed at the things you can learn about history when visiting with a Veteran. The talked about some of the things they had in common like being in charge of the newsletter/paper at each of thier locations, he told us about when he used to March in Band and played the Bass drum. We even learned somethings about President Kennedy, Vietnam, Desert Storm. The big topic to look further into what is the difference between a conflict and a war.

SUNDAY BOOK REVIEW The New York times Naomi Klein’s ‘This Changes Everything’ By ROB NIXONNOV. 6, 2014 “Every inhabitant of this planet must contemplate the day when this planet may no longer be habitable.” Thus spoke President Kennedy in a 1961 address to the United Nations. The threat he warned of was not climate chaos — barely a blip on anybody’s radar at the time — but the hydrogen bomb. The nuclear threat had a volatile urgency and visual clarity that the sprawling, hydra-headed menace of today’s climate calamity cannot match. How can we rouse citizens and governments to act for concerted change? Will it take, as Naomi Klein insists, nothing less than a Marshall Plan for Earth? “This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate” is a book of such ambition and consequence that it is almost unreviewable. Klein’s fans will recognize her method from her prior books, “No Logo: Taking Aim at the Brand Bullies” (1999) and “The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism ...
UFO WAS JFK KILLED BECAUSE OF ROSWELL? Who killed President Kennedy?' is the ultimate of all conspiracies. Why was the young, American leader gunned down in November of 1963? The Roswell Incident has been around longer than the Kennedy mystery, but it is this question of who murdered Jack that is imbedded in the conscious mind of every baby-boomer. Those who remember the 50s know where they were when they heard that President Kennedy got shot. (I was let out of junior high school like the rest of America's kids). Were there multiple shooters or a lone gunman? Do we believe the party-line of a lone gunman or QUESTION what the government tells you? Who were the guilty parties in this assassination? JFK was 'killed' and 'murdered.' He was not assassinated by some 3-named, crazy lunatic. There was indeed a conspiracy which stretched to the highest realms of power and politics. There is a Secret Society ritual that is 'the killing of the King.' The national leader of the people is only a figurehead and has no r ...
On June 4th, 1963, President Kennedy signed a presidential document, called Executive Order 10, which further amended Executive Order 10289 of September 19th, 1951. This gave Kennedy, as President of the United States, legal clearance to create his own money to run the country, money that would belong to the people, an Interest and debt-free money. He had printed United States Notes, completely ignoring the Federal Reserve Notes from the private banks of the Federal Reserve. Both Abraham Lincoln and Kennedy were assassinated while they held the high office of President of the United States. Both of these former presidents had also created their own money system to run the United States while they were in office. Is this just a coincidence? Read more at:

Other weapons are possible but are they probable? October 13, 1963 In an abrupt about-face, Soviet guards yesterday yielded to Western pressure and allowed an American military convoy to proceed to West Berlin after holding it up for 52 hours. At the Babelsberg checkpoint, the Russians suddenly dropped their demand to count the soldiers in the trucks. President Kennedy and his advisers blamed the blockade on a misunderstanding rather than on Soviet intentions to provoke an incident. I don't like doing this but as an American I feel it's right. Two innocent Americans have been killed and I feel for their families and friends. It is such a terrible, disgusting way for them to be remembered. Now I turn to the rest of America, I know this day in age with the internet and all of our gadgets we want answers to questions as soon as a crisis happens and want plans immediately with no time lapsed. I want to refer to the Cuban Missile Crisis when our great nation was at the brink of nuclear war with the Soviets. If you look back during those 13 days in October, President Kennedy took an immense amount of time trying to find the right solution for America and humanity itself. So I now turn to the ISIS situation. President Obama is under fire for not having an answer the minute it happened. He is a human. The Eve of Destruction wdf1pqgq m727nevc. See "The Eve of Destruction" here: the beginning of 1965, the U.S. seemed on the cusp of a golden age. Although Americans had been shocked by the assassination in 1963 of President Kennedy, they exuded a sense of consensus and optimism that showed no signs of abating. Indeed, political liberalism and interracial Civil Rights activism made it appear as if 1965 would find America more progressive and unified than it had ever been before. In January 1965, President Lyndon Johnson proclaimed that the country had ? no irreconcilable conflicts. (zow4ns0, z64x68s, p374z5q64) Disclosure:

If you look at a "U.S. dollar", it actually says "Federal Reserve note" at the top. In the financial world, a "note" is an instrument of debt. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy issued Executive Order 10 which authorized the U.S. Treasury to issue "United States notes" which were created by the U.S. government directly and not by the Federal Reserve. He was assassinated shortly thereafter. Many of the debt-free United States notes issued under President Kennedy are still in circulation today.

August 21, 1963 Official reports reaching Washington convinced the Government that the conflict between the Government of President Ngo Dinh Diem and the Buddhists had created a situation that threatened the security of the Saigon Government and also that of American forces there. Rather than work with the community to lower tensions, they're shooting tear gas at children and bringing in the National Guard to turn the town into an armed camp. During the 1950s and 1960s, when local authorities would not pursue justice, the federal government stepped in. President Eisenhower sent U.S. marshals to escort African American children to school. President Kennedy sent the FBI to investigate the murders of Civil Rights activists. President Obama has sent Attorney General Holder and the FBI to Missouri to investigate the killing of Michael Brown. That's a good start. The caption reads: One man who had been intimately involved with the tragic beginning of the four days - UPI White House correspondent Merriman Smith - was on hand as the ceremonies at Arlington drew to a close. He wrote: "America buried John Fitzgerald Kennedy on Arlington's green slopes today, consigning his body to the land he loved and his soul to the God he worshipped ... Joining the family and all America in its grief were kings, presidents, ministers and princes from nearly every country of the world, communist as well as free, from Charles de Gaulle of France to Anastas Mikoyan of Russia." Shown below are some of those leaders: De Gaulle, Haile Selassie, and President Macapagal of the Philippines, German Chancellor Erhard (behind Selassie), and French Foreign Minister Couve de Murville, behind Erhard and beside Franklin D. Bet you didnt learn this kind of history in school. In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba. Code named Operation Northwoods, the plans reportedly included the possible assassination of Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees on the high seas, hijacking planes, blowing up a U.S. ship, and even orchestrating violent terrorism in U.S. cities. The plans were developed as ways to trick the American public and the international community into supporting a war to oust Cuba's ... Fidel Castro. America's top military brass even contemplated causing U.S. military casualties, writing: "We could blow up a U.S. ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba," and, "casualty lists in U.S. newspapers would cause a helpful wave of national indignation." The plans had the written approval of all of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and were presented to President Kennedy's defens ...

America must not work against NCPO By W Scott Thompson There was a time when Thai-American relations were almost a love affair. The Americans got the kingdom off the hook with the British and French, who wanted retribution for Thai participation alongside the Japanese in World War II. The US sent a succession of distinguished ambassadors and more junior officers to Thailand, the best of whom always learned Thai and mingled in the provinces. For example, Ambassador Young, appointed by President Kennedy, whose son, Stephen Young, has recently written an essay on the US Embassy on Wireless Road. Stephen Young has given extraordinary evidence of the blindness at the embassy to former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s completion of the conversion of Thai governance to money politics. But in fact, for 20 years students of Thailand have tried to warn the embassy that Thaksin was something different from the rest. When I mentioned at the embassy that Thaksin’s efforts to influence the media through his weal ...

It is refreshing to see so much interest and concern for Henryetta’s rating by “AreaVibes.” However, let’s not allow the recent negative rating cloud the many positive aspects of Henryetta. The AreaVibes survey does have its flaws in the analysis if one takes time to do more research. The flaws primarily exist in the population and rural and urban groupings rating comparisons. You really can’t fairly compare Henryetta to Edmond, the number one place to live in Oklahoma. Edmond is a wealthy urban community that supports five golf courses – need I say more. With that said, the following evaluation weightings conducted by AreaVibes could be statistically on target: Amenities (F) Cost of Living (A+) Crime (B+) Education (F) Employment (D) Housing (D) Weather (B+) overall rating 68. Yes, Henryetta has its warts, financial challenges, past leadership issues, the typical apathetic bystanders, and those that prefer to complain and point fingers as opposed to getting involved and trying to unders ...

Cataclysmic Attitude by Barak Obama I am disappointed with President Barak Obama for bully boy tactics. You (Russian President Vladimir Putin) have my undivided support against these monsters in sheep's clothing. I know you are very patient and fair. President Kennedy asked Congress for broad Civil Rights legislation that, he said, will "go far toward providing reasonable men with reasonable means" to deal with a national crisis in race relations. The most controversial proposals would bar discrimination in privately owned establishments like theaters, restaurants and hotels and arm the Attorney General with powers to speed school desegregation. Other major requests include more vocational and training programs to qualify more Negroes for jobs and community services to seek voluntary solutions to racial problems. Civil Rights leaders rejected the President's request for a truce in desegregation demonstrations th ...

The Life and Words of Martin Luther King Jr. A dramatic retelling of events in the life of the American icon, including his adoption of nonviolence and the famous march on Washington Martin Luther King Jr. was in trouble. He had been arrested in Birmingham, Alabama, for leading a freedom march. Now he was in jail. No one could visit him. He could not make a telephone call. This was "solitary." King's wife, Coretta, was home in Atlanta, Georgia. She had not heard from her husband in two days. Finally, she felt she had to do something. Once before, King had been in "solitary." At that time, John F. Kennedy was running for President. He had called Coretta and told her he would try to help her husband. And the next day, King got out of jail. Now, in April, 1963, Coretta called President Kennedy in Washington. The President was away, but she spoke to his brother, Attorney General Robert Kennedy. She told him she was afraid her husband was not safe. He told her he would do everything he could to help King. Late ...
June 17, 1963 The first woman, Valentina V. New York governor Nelson Rockefeller criticizes President Kennedy for not moving fast enough on Civil Rights
A MOMENT IN HISTORY Jun 8, 1968: Burial of Robert Kennedy Three days after falling prey to an assassin in California, Senator Robert F. Kennedy is laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, just 30 yards from the grave of his assassinated older brother, President John F. Kennedy. Robert Kennedy, born in Brookline, Massachusetts, in 1925, interrupted his studies at Harvard University to serve in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was legal counsel for various Senate subcommittees during the 1950s and in 1960 served as the manager of his brother's successful presidential campaign. Appointed attorney general by President Kennedy, he proved a vigorous member of the cabinet, zealously prosecuting cases relating to Civil Rights while closely advising the president on domestic and foreign issues. After John F. Kennedy's assassination in 1963, Robert joined President Lyndon B. Johnson's administration but resigned in 1964 to run successfully in New York for a Senate seat. He became a leader of li ...
The coolness with Eleanor Roosevelt had long since vanished. She was proud of Kennedy as President and proud of Jacqueline, with whom she had an affectionate correspondence, as the President's lady. When she died in November, 1962, the Kennedys flew to Hyde Park for the funeral. The Harrimans, my wife, and I accompanied them on the plane. The day was overcast and somber. We sat in the small stone church and watched them walk in: President Kennedy, sad and silent; President Truman, looking very old, an expression of anguish on his face; President Eisenhower, grave and dignified; Frances Perkins and Henry Morgenthau, Jr., Henry Wallace and James A. Farley, Tom Corcoran and Ben Cohen, Herbert Lehman and Adlai Stevenson. "This is the last assembly," Corcoran whispered to me. "There will never again be an occasion on which all these people will gather together." By the time we reached the grave site, a gentle rain had begun to fall. Later we went over to John Roosevelt's. All the Roosevelt children were there. ...

I took a tour on my own of the old Philadelphia Navy Base, now known as the Philadelphia Navy Yard and was caught totally off guard when I came across the USS John F. Kennedy (CVA-67). I met and spoke with some engineers who informed me the ship is on a "museum hold". It will eventually be berthed in Rhode Island where President Kennedy attended PT Boat schooling. It will take $40 million to prepare it and I'm told the organization in Rhode Island have taken in $27 million in donations. It's expected they will succeed and have this beautiful ship with an enormous history for many to visit in the years to come. The USS Forrestal was berthed next to her but was taken away a couple months ago for scrap metal. It was indeed a thrill to see the Kennedy as it was 43 years ago I first set foot on this floating city.

Adding a little perspective to life. Had she lived, Marilyn Monroe (born June 1, 1926) would have been 88 years old today. On May 19, 1962, Marilyn sang her famous rendition of "Happy Birthday Mr. President." On that day she was 36 years old and President Kennedy was 45. Many think that, as an extension of the celebration, the two of them later shared cocktails. In any event, within three months of singing that song, she was dead. Interesting. Norma Jeane Mortenson--who will become better known around the world as the glamorous actress and sex symbol Marilyn Monroe--is born on this day in 1926, in Los Angeles, California. She was later given her mother’s name, and baptized Norma Jeane Baker. After a tumultuous childhood--both maternal grandparents and her mother were committed to mental institutions, and she lived with a string of foster families--Norma Jeane married one of her neighbors, James Dougherty, when she was 16. He later joined the Merchant Marines and was sent to the South Pacific during ...

Walt Whitman (1819--1892) was one of America's most influential poets. His work was very controversial in its time, particularly his poetry collection "Leaves of Grass" (1855), which was described as obscene for its overt sexuality. "O Captain! My Captain!" is a poem written by Whitman in 1865 about the death of President Abraham Lincoln. It was included in "Leaves of Grass" beginning with its fourth edition published in 1867. I first read "O Captain! My Captain!" when it appeared in the newspaper after President Kennedy's assasination. It has stayed with me all of these years: "O Captain! My Captain! our fearful trip is done; The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won"
We must never forget the struggle that took place 43 years ago this week. Sunday, May 21 1961 , more than 1500 people packed Reverend Ralph Abernathy's First Baptist Church to honor the freedom Riders. Among the speakers were Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., who was newly based in Montgomery, Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth, and James Farmer. Outside, a mob of more than 3,000 whites attacked blacks, with a handful of the United States Marshals Service protecting the church from assault and fire bombs. With city and state police making no effort to restore order, the Civil Rights leaders appealed to the President for protection. President Kennedy threatened the governor to intervene with federal troops if he would not protect the people. Governor Patterson forestalled that by finally ordering the Alabama National Guard to disperse the mob, and the Guard reached the church in the early morning.
