Ok... Serious brain fail when you just can't remember things. Who in earth was the 6th person that my bang face ticket for the weekender was promised too??? I bought a 6 berth and I can only remember 5 of the people in it which were. Me, Alexei Panini, Dinn Warde, Simon Woodcock and Lee Hutcheon. Who was the 6th??? :-0 I feel bad for not rembering. It's one of those mornings.
Watch Sidney Crosby with or without the puck on this night and you appreciate that the full package has fully returned: little chip passes from in-close, behind the back passes, a step on his pursuer, the sense of anticipation, it was all there on display, writes Pierre LeBrun.
To the family sitting behind me on our flight from Orlando to Philadelphia: Do everyone a favor and don't fly with your kids. No one thinks your kids are cute. No one had any sympathy for the one who cried nonstop for 40 minutes. No one appreciated your "parenting skills" as you tried to have a mature, adult conversation with a two year old during a tantrum. Your time would have been better spent keeping him from kicking the back of my seat. No one was even happy when the crying and screaming ended, because then your kids began "laughing and squealing with delight"... Just as annoying as the crying. As I said before...Don't fly with your kids. One big reason to never fly in or out of Orlando!

Tell ya what; maybe Scott Howson put Columbus into mediocrity for a while, but his best transaction will probably stand as acquiring Sergei Bobrovsky for merely draft picks. Another great effort by the Philadelphia flyers on Saturday in boston. The flyers lost to the bruins 3-0 and weren't really in the game. It seems liked they packed it in after the first period That has been happening too often this year. What do we need bobby Clarke to come out of retirement to show these guys how to work hard? I don't think it's the whole team but it seems they give up too early. That's not the flyer teams we know. Playoffs seem to be just a thought not a reality. I hope I'm wrong and they right the ship and don't catch the Philly sports disease of teams that suck.

Image of the Day Light the Lamp Every time the two teams for the Keystone State meet there is plenty of fireworks as both the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers are among the top scoring teams in the NHL. On Thursday in Philadelphia it was no different as the Flyers jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first period, chasing Penguins Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. Flyers Goalie Ilya Bryzgalov would not last much longer, allowing three goals in the second period before he was replaced by Brian Boucher. Meanwhile Tomas Vokoun who took over in goal for the Penguins stopped all 14 shots he faces, as the Chris Kunitz who had two goals and an assist beat Boucher in the third period as the Penguins won the game 5-4. With the win the Penguins improved to 16-8-0, while the Flyers continued to flounder in last place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 11-13-1, as they have won of the worst defenses in the NHL, allowing 3.0 goals per game.
Veteran NHL player and U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Jeremy Roenick has provided his support for..."The Head Game." Mr. Roenick stated to producer LaMont Johnson, "The movie is needed to help further the discussion of sports concussions." Jeremy Roenick was the 1st round draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in 1988. He went on to play for the Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks. He played for 21 seasons scoring 513 goals resulting in 1,213 career points, the 3rd highest total among American-born players in the NHL. In 2010, Jeremy was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame. In his autobiography, he admits he has suffered as many as 13 reported concussions. Jeremy "J.R." Roenick is often a guest on NBC sports.

JUST PAINFUL Anthony SanFilippo - Philadelphia Flyers Inside Reporter 8 2 9 Email Comment Print • Tickets | Shop VIDEO NEWS PHILADELPHIA – This one hurts. Not just a pinch. Not like a bruise or a cut, where it only hurts when you touch it. No, this one stings down deep in the pit of your stomach. It twists and turns like a corkscrew. It causes the acid to take a northerly path before settling with a sizzle at the base of your throat. That’s because it’s one thing to lose, it’s another to do so while blowing a three-goal lead. It’s another entirely when it’s against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Which is why tonight is a night when you grab your container of Tums and rather than just shaking out one or two tablets you just dump a bunch into your palm and chew them down hoping the chalkiness kills that reflux. The Flyers lost in epic fashion 5-4, coughing up a 4-1 lead after the first period to their most bitter rival. It was the first time the FLyers blew a three-goal lead and lost in regulation . ...

Blackhawks 3, Avalanche 2 If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. And that's exactly what Daniel Carcillo did in leading the Chicago Blackhawks to a 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche in front of 21,531 at United Center on Wednesday night. After two attempts at scoring in front of the Avalanche net by Viktor Stalberg, the third time was the charm for Carcillo, who grabbed the rebound off Stalberg's second shot and then almost effortlessly slipped the puck past Colorado goalie Semyon Varlamov for the game-winner. It was Carcillo's first goal of the season and couldn't have come at a better time, with just 50 seconds left in the game. Chicago continued its unbeaten string in regulation play, improving to 21-0-3, tops in the NHL, with a league-best 45 points. The Blackhawks have reached the halfway point of the lockout-shortened 48-game schedule without a loss in regulation. Chicago is second in NHL history for the longest point streak, at 30 games. The league record is 35 (Philadelphia Flyers, 1979- ...

Blackhawks take second place all-time by extending point streak to 29 games The Chicago Blackhawks won once again on Tuesday night, extending one record point streak (23 games to start a season) and breaking a tie with the 1977-78 Montreal Canadiens as their overall streak stretching back to last season is now 29 games. Chicago did so by holding off a brief Minnesota Wild surge. The Blackhawks had a 4-1 lead in the third period that quickly went to 4-3, yet Patrick Kane ended that threat with an insurance goal to end it 5-3. Marian Hossa scored the winner on a night when the Blackhawks honored him for reaching the 1,000 games played plateau. The ‘Hawks have won quite a few games by a slim margin lately, so give them a little leeway in struggling with an unusually robust lead. Now the Blackhawks hope to tie (and then pass) the 1979-80 Philadelphia Flyers, whose all-time record point streak ended at 35 games. (Again, Chicago’s 29 now stands alone ahead of that Habs team.) The next obstacle: two games in ...

The Pittsburgh Penguins have allowed 16 goals in their last 3 games against the Montreal Canadiens, Carolina Hurricanes, and Florida Panthers, respectively. The defense has been horrendous. It looks the same as it did against the Philadelphia Flyers in the playoffs last year. Do we trust in Disco Dan and Ray Shero, or are the consistent breakdowns in defense a philosophical problem with this management group? At least with Sydney Crosby healthy they can score goals to make up for the defensive deficiencies. Anyone notice Malkin didn't play against the Canadiens on Saturday? What will happen tonight?

*The NHL has suspended Philadelphia Flyers forward Harry Zolnierczyk four games for charging Ottawa defenseman Mike Lundin. Lundin suffered a concussion. The play happened Saturday midway through the first period of the Flyers' 2-1 win. Zolnierczyk launched himself into Lundin as the Ottawa forward was cutting into the Flyers' zone. Zolnierczyk received a major penalty for charging and a game misconduct on the play. He will be fined just under $13,000.

A message from David DeVenney. If you do not have any plans tomorrow, come on out for the alumni concert and Iron Hill event afterward. On Sunday, March 3, at 3:00 p.m., Concert Choir will perform an exciting concert entitled "Pairs/Perspectives." It includes music by a wide variety of composers, but the highlight of the concert is David Conte's "American Triptych," for choir, four-hand piano, three percussionists, harp, solo sax, and bass. (Some of you might remember singing this in 2003). David Conte will be in residence the week of the concert, working with Concert Choir, and current plans are for him to be at the concert, as well (pending a conflict in San Francisco that he is trying to resolve). "American Triptych" is being recorded for release on a new commerical CD of Dr. Conte's choral works. Two of the Brahms works on the program will also be recorded for a new CD (due out later this spring) of works by Bach and Brahms that Concert Choir has sung over the years -- all the way back to several mov ...

tell the Philadelphia flyers players never quit and stay out of penalty box
I'm at a Philadelphia Flyers ice hockey game, and I have never been more petrified to use a cherry Chapstick in my life.
A story from Kerry Fraser's blog. Stories about Philly fans only make news when they include vomit or tasers: I attended the Philadelphia Flyers' home opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday afternoon. I drove into the Wells Fargo Center parking lot two hours prior to game time and found it overflowing with festive 'tailgaters' garbed in their favorite player jersey and celebrating the return of the game. When the doors opened, fans were issued complimentary bright orange T-shirts with a message beneath the black Flyers logo that read LET'S GO! I walked the concourse prior to taking my seat in the press box and felt the energy generated by the sellout crowd similar to what I experienced so many times during Stanley Cup Playoffs and Final. The building became even more alive when their hometown heroes were introduced individually through a cloud of smoke and lights. The scoreboard high above center ice played messages from players and Flyers owner, Mr. Ed Snider thanking their loyal fans for st ...

Gagne returns to Philadelphia. One of the Flyer hockey greats is back after a trade with the Los Angeles Kings. Gagne spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the Flyers. Dr. Greenberg, one of the leading prolotherapy specialists in the country, treated Gagne with Prolotherapy starting back in 2008 for symptoms of post-concussion syndrome.

Anyone have flyer gloves I can borrow?
Not sure I like this. :( Report: Boston, St. Louis inquire about Briere Mike Halford Feb 27, 2013, 10:49 AM EST 14 Comments AP Could Daniel Briere be on the move? That’s the question circulating around Philly this morning after the Daily News’ Frank Seravalli broke word that a pair of teams — the Blues and Bruins — have inquired about the 35-year-old. It’s an interesting bit of information given the Flyers, mired in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, could use a shakeup beyond bringing back the likes of Mike Knuble and Simon Gagne. Also interesting is that St. Louis and Boston — both likely playoff bound — are kicking the tires on a great playoff scorer (Briere has 108 points in 109 career postseason games.) Now all that said, Briere doesn’t sound interested in changing addresses. More, from Seravalli: Briere, 35, is one player who isn’t going anywhere. The Flyers have not asked Briere to waive his no-trade clause, and it isn’t clear whether they’re interested in moving him, but h ...
The United States is fully engaged in the war on terror. And while the threat is very real in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, South Korea and other places around the globe, the war on terror I'm talking about is happening right here at home. On US soil. The scary part is most Americans don't even know the battle is raging. This battle is not fought with bombs and guns, it's fought with lies, deceit and half truths. Who is fueling and financing this great battle? Corporate America and the lobbyists they pay millions of dollars to. Industrial Hemp has been illegal in this country since 1938. Even though in that year Popular Mechanics magazine called it a BILLION dollar industry. The internet is loaded with information about how the large chemical and paper companies railroaded a bill through Congress. Today the same chemical and paper companies are still spreading false information about hemp and now even the pharmaceutical companies are lining the pockets of lobbyists. Why are they doing this? Greed. Plain and si ...

The Flyers got Gagne back... Like that is going to matter!
Wait. Why is everyone so excited that the flyers picked up an old winger that has been a healthy scratch half the season and hasn't scored a goal?

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov is a man who loves space, in case you haven't gotten that message already. So we are about midway throughout the NHL season, and the Philadelphia Flyers sit at 9th in the Eastern Conference. It seems to be a blessing that they are only that far out of the playoffs, because they have looked really bad at times, not being able to finish games. The biggest surprise is that the offense is most to blame for their struggles, not Ilya Bryzgalov. The offense is actually ranked 8th in the league, which again is shocking considering how in some games they struggle to score even 2 goals. The huge bright spot for the Flyers has been right winger Jakub Voracek, who leads the team in points, goals, and assists. He has been extremely hot as of late, scoring 5 goals and tallying 8 assists in the last 5 games. But if we are looking ahead toward the playoffs, I have to say the Flyers need to pick it up if they're gonna make a run in the postseason, which could likely be against a or seed. And that means they're gonna have to step it up in every aspect of the game, but most importantly puttin ...
Empty-netter for the Leafs & that will seal the deal. Flyers fall to Toronto 4-2 & fail for the fourth time to get to .500
It's official! We coming to Pennsylvania in March! More details coming soon!
Well I never thought I would be stating this. It is official, I will no longer spend any more of my precious time on this earth watching the Philadelphia Flyers. I am so tired of Ed Snider and the antiquated way this team plays professional hockey. When you have multiple power play opportunities, and do not score. You need to take a serious look at your team style of play. Clean house and start over. I am now hanging with my best friend and wife. I am officially announcing my allegiance to the New Jersey Devils. Anyone who knows me will realise that this is a really hard decision for me. But I always respected the way the Devils play. I am fed up. I want to support a winner. To much agony.

The Rangers and the injury bug in this shortened season are so frustrating to see, plus their lack of offensive firepower (most definitely on the PP)...outside of the 3 players currently on IR (Michael Sauer, Darroll Powe and Rick Nash) and the sidelined injuries to Arron Asham and Michael Del Zotto, it was tough to see the injuries last night in Montreal to our top 2 defensemen in Ryan McDonagh (hit from behind into the boards-possible head injury?) and Dan Girardi (blocked a slap shot from the point in the final minute that hit him right in the ankle)...but gotta keep pushing forward and play well on this upcoming 4-game homestand (vs the Winnipeg Jets, Tampa Bay Lightning, Buffalo Sabres and Philadelphia Flyers)...despite it all, LETS GO RANGERS!!

Wayne Simmonds of the Philadelphia Flyers records a Gordie Howe Hat Trick like a boss against the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 6-5 Flyers Win on February 20, 2013
Philadelphia Flyers Postgame Notes – February 23, 2013 Flyers 5, Winnipeg 3 at Wells Fargo Center The Jets outshot the Flyers 12-1 over the first 10:13 of the game until the second TV timeout in the first period. After that timeout, the Flyers outshot the Jets 16-0 in the final 9:47 of the period. Zac Rinaldo led the Flyers with 12 hits, which he collected in 14:18 of ice time. Three of them came on his first shift, all delivered on Mark Stuart. Rinaldo is, at the moment, now third in the NHL in hits with 70, passing teammate Luke Schenn. This comes despite him playing just 128:03 so far this season, which is an average of eight minutes per game. That gives him an average of 32.81 hits per 60 minutes played. Nicklas Grossmann also contributed seven blocks today. The Flyers won for the first time this season in a situation where they did not hold a lead entering the third period. They had been 0-10 when trailing or tied after two periods. Jake Voracek had three assists today and now has 12 points ...

Flyers gut out the win today, 5-3 final. Today's game, much like the orange and black's season, was an up and down contest and filled with physical play. Hat's off to Brayden Schenn and Jake Voracek today and for the majority of the season, as it can be argued that they have been the main weapon's in the Flyers repertoire. Luke Schenn and Nick Grossmann also brought a whole lot of nasty to the Flyers blueline today; their toughness was on full display this afternoon. This year's Flyers team seems to thrive in a physical environment and when the team brings an attitude to the rink everyone, from the lugnuts to skill players, get in on the hitting action. A nice bounce back game for the Flyers and lots of positive's in my book. Flyers host the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday night but until then enjoy this gutsy effort from your Philadelphia Flyers!

Steve Shutt the NHL Hall of Famer of the Montreal Canadians went to high school with Gary (Geddy) Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush (and Geddy Lee went to elementary school with Rick Moranis). That probably out does going to school with Peter Kent (Arnold's former stunt double) and Al Hill (ex Philadelphia Flyer player and current scout, who owns the NHL record for the most points -5- in his first NHL game). So the question is.who was the most famous/highest achieving person you went to school with?

This should be good. PHILADELPHIA -- Rob Zombie has gone from horror to hockey. Zombie has ditched the slasher flicks with his latest project, a movie adaptation of the Philadelphia Flyers' famed Broad Street Bullies teams of the 1970s. The Bullies pounded their way into the hearts of Flyers fans -- and became the most despised team in the NHL -- while winning the franchise's only two Stanley Cup championships in 1974 and 1975.
