Saw Blue Jasmine at Edmond Town Hall with my parents and it is an incredible movie. I thought Cate Blanchett deserved Best Actress as Jasmine, a rich Manhattan socialite who falls into poverty and homelessness. I also thought Alec Baldwin is at his typical sleazy best as Hal, Jasmine's husband who may or may not be committing fraud and adultery. In addition, Sally Hawkins and Andrew Dice-Clay gave excellent performances as Ginger and her working class husband, Augie. I thought Bobby Cannavale is extremely over the top as Chili, an alpha male mechanic who becomes Ginger's boyfriend. Furthermore, Louis CK gives an amusing role as Al, Ginger's short term boyfriend. I thought Peter Sarsgaard is memorable in a cast against type role as Dwight Westlake, a diplomat and Jasmine's possible love interest. Max Casella provides comic relief as Eddie, Chili's friend. A must see movie if you love Woody Allen or if you're a fan of anyone who's in the cast. Rating 9/10.

In 2005, Sam Mendes directed a moderately received military film called JARHEAD starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Jamie Foxx, and Peter Sarsgaard. Based on the memoir by Anthony Swofford, JARHEAD had excellent visuals thanks to cinematographer Roger Deakins and a muddled screenplay. Some remember it fondly…
Peter Sarsgaard has joined Vera Farmiga in the ballet world comedy "Prima."

A little more history for y'all "Cocktails" starring Tom Cruise, Bryan Brown and Elizabeth Shue was filmed partly at Sangster's International Airport in Montego Bay, the beach bar scene was staged at Dragon Bay Beach in Port Antonio, which is now called "Cruise Bar". The Waterfall is Reach Falls located on the Drivers River inland from Manchoneal on the North Coast. "Legends of The Fall" starring Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins and Aidan Quinn was filmed in St. Anns, Ocho Rios. Movies such as "Papillon" starring Steve McQueen, Dustin Hoffman and Victor Jorg, and " 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" starring Kirk Douglas, James Mason and Paul Lukas, filmed their cave and cliff scenes at the Xtabi Hotel in Negril. Other movies such as "Cool Runnings", "One Love", "Shottas", "Dance Hall Queen" and "Island in The Sun" where filmed at various locations on the island. Most recently, the movie "Knight and Day" starring Cameron Diaz, Tom Cruise and Peter Sarsgaard was filmed partly on Frenchman's Cove in Portland.
Blue Jasmine (dir. Woody Allen) This film is a brilliantly crafted screenplay with an all-star cast that is easily one of Woody Allen's finest works. Cate Blanchett plays Jasmine, a clueless Manhattan socialite who is married to Hal (played by Alec Baldwin), and her life has imploded after Hal's fraudulent 'Bernie Madoff-type' investment schemes land him in prison where he eventually takes his own life. Jasmine relocates to her sister's apartment in San Francisco where her obstinate upper class phoniness and unacceptance of her new reality lead to a complete breakdown. The film is a joy to watch and Woody Allen's script provides a sublime and delicate dance between tragedy and comedy. Cate Blanchett won 'Best Actress' and Sally Hawkins who plays Jasmine's sister, Ginger, won 'Best Supporting Actress nominee' at the 2014 Academy Awards. Andrew Dice Clay, Bobby Cannavale, and Peter Sarsgaard also deliver outstanding supporting performances. ABSOLUTE MUST SEE
Happy Birthday Bryan Cranston (who sells me my Crystal Meth), Rachel Weisz (who protects me from Mummies), Peter Sarsgaard (whose giant forehead scared the crap outta me in Green Lantern), Jenna Fischer (whose office romance has inspired us all), John Heard (who needs to stop leaving his kid home alone), and Matthew Vaughn (who directed the best X-Men movie so far).

AN EDUCATION. London, 1961. Smart, attractive 16-year-old Jenny finds her traditional education replaced by something slightly more sinister when an older, more worldly suitor sweeps her off of her feet while placing her future in jeopardy. Nominated for three Academy Awards in 2010, including Best Picture. Directed by Lone Scherfig and stars Carey Mulligan, Peter Sarsgaard and Alfred Molina. (From the UK) (Drama) (2009) M (A) CC For parents with teenagers and teenagers. The theme still applies.although things have changed. May watch it on this link until 8th March.
In the inevitable biopic "Kerrigan," I say Anne Hathaway in title role, Amy Adams as Tonya Harding, and Peter Sarsgaard as Jeff Gillooly.
Watch Carey Mulligan in her Oscar nominated breakthrough performance as a teenager swept off her feet by the dashing David (Peter Sarsgaard), who introduces her to a rarefied world that almost seems too good to be true.
In an attempt to muster enthusiasm for the Oscars, we watched Blue Jasmine, from which I have determined that 1. Cate Blanchett as Galadriel having a nervous breakdown is pretty awesome, 2. Woody Allen has been writing the same movie over and over for 50 years, 3. Peter Sarsgaard looks awful with Frasier's hairdo, and 4. Allen has absolutely no understanding of the working class or what rents in San Francisco are. If I could afford Ginger's apartment on a grocery clerk's salary, I would still be living there.

i wanna see Michael SHeen, Peter Sarsgaard, Aaron Paul, or Crispin glover get a shot at the Joker :)
Blue Jasmine: with "A Streetcar named Desire" as its primary influence, Woody Allen tells the story of a socialite who must survive after an event causes her to lose everything she has. Allen melds drama with witty dialogue in a film about renewal and second chances and thanks to his excellent cast (Sally Hawkins, Louis C.K., Bobby Cannavale, Alec Baldwin, Peter Sarsgaard, Michael Stuhlbarg and more) delivers a winning film. But the real star of this is Cate Blanchett as Jasmine, masterfully portraying a woman on the edge of losing her mind, who shatters the entire film and really deserves all the praise that already been given to her (I would be shocked if she doesn't win a second Academy Award for this performance).
Conversations Blue Jasmine Screening followed by a Q&A with Cate Blanchett Friday, January 10th 7pm Los Angeles Starring Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Sally Hawkins, Peter Sarsgaard, Bobby Cannavale, Andrew Dice Clay, and Louis C.K. After watching Blue Jasmine and seeing Lovelace last night, I wish that Kinsey was on Netflix so I could watch more Peter Sarsgaard.
Chris Noth whipping Peter Sarsgaard with a belt in this movie is awesome. And justice!
Shattered Glass. I would not have watched this movie at all if I hadn't been on a return flight from Europe. My wife settled on a chick flick and the other choices were yet more iterations of the buddy-car chase-horse crap films that were, and continue to be, Hollywood's glory. Anything that bad taste, lack of imagination and brain dead writers can do, Hollywood will. Faced with nine hours, with nothing to look forward to except an airline dinner, in desperation I picked what seemed to be the least obnoxious of the offerings. Incidentally, it is telling that when IMDB lists the stars, Peter Sarsgaard, who along with Hayden Christensen, of course, is at the center of the movie, is not shown. He doesn't have enough starpower. Instead they list Steve Zahn. Go figure. (Oh, and Chloe Sevigny, whose part is not all that critical but who admittedly does have a terrific *** under those very tight jeans.) Like Taking Chance, Shattered Glass is based on a true story; that of Stephen Glass, a young journalis ...
Leave it to Peter Sarsgaard to be creepy!
Re-watching "Shattered Glass" - the story of Stephen Glass & New Republic. V. good movie. Peter Sarsgaard is great
Crummy movies week. Saw, "Lovelace". Just don't see it. There is nothing good about the story, even if it is well made. The acting was good and that no-talent Lindsay Lohan could have never played this role. Never. Glad they couldn't get the multimillion dollar bond to insure her and it was a good thing. Oh, I hate her, in case you were wondering. James Franco was just not believable as Hugh Hefner either. Sharon Stone was amazing and I didn't even recognize her, but her voice gave her away. And Peter Sarsgaard plays another scumbag. He is a really good scumbag. Amazing make-up. Paid to see, "Man of Steel". Awful. 2 hours and whatever of the serious and troubled Superman. Seems the director and producer forgot about comedy, because there was none. And Amy Adams *** But she always *** I don't know how she became a star. I did see a documentary on bears called, "The Fortress of the Bears". That was awesome, but I'm a sucker for any animal that can eat humans. I hope I come back as a ...

They really put Aaron Paul, Peter Sarsgaard and Nikolaj in the same category? And have to choose just one of them? Geez.
Watching Lovelace. Wow Peter Sarsgaard is good at being skeezy.
Peter Sarsgaard's acting style seems to be derived from imitating John Malkovich as closely as possible.
let's be fair, i'm not going to sleep...time to start season three and this time i have Peter Sarsgaard and Elias Koteas to stare at :)
WHERE DO WE LIVE? In the on going series - Where Do We Live? - I am baffled by our local movie theater company/monopoly (Goodrich Quality Theaters). Two frustrations in one visit yesterday: * FROZEN -- was only being screened in 3D at 9 p.m. Really? Aren't there more people at an earlier show of a Disney movie. PLUS -- all reviews say this movie should be seen in 3D; if not for the movie itself, but also the opening short which is groundbreaking animation. * 12 YEARS A SLAVE -- Arrived Friday, November 22, Gone Wednesday, November 27. Reason given they needed as many screens as possible for Frozen and Catching Fire. REALLY?? Only 4 days and 5 nights? Why can't I have all three movies? The manager suggested we go to Indy to see it. * Blue Jasmine -- Woody Allen's latest movie starring Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Peter Sarsgaard, & Sally Hawkins -- never ever screened here. We didn't ask about that yesterday...too tired. Where the heck do we live, people??

Robot & Frank is a quirky movie with Frank Langella, Peter Sarsgaard, James Marsden, Liv Tyler and Susan Sarandon. 8.5 of 10 stars.
Why do I find Peter Sarsgaard so attractive? It's kind of embarrassing!
Oh dang, Peter Sarsgaard in season 3 of "The Killing". Dang
Peter Sarsgaard in The Killing might turn in the most under rated performance on TV.
One of those New York moments... Pretty sure that was Peter Sarsgaard in my elevator on the way out of the GlobalFest event tonight.
I hope during my lifetime personal robots become a thing. It should have at least 5 voices, be able to change color at will, and be used for everything. The 5 voices are as follows Hal 9000, GLaDOS, Kevin Spacey from moon, peter sarsgaard from robot and frank, and speak and spell. An argument could be made for stephen hawking's robo voice as well. If modern technology has taught us anything it is that if people really want something, in just a few short years, you can almost get it right.
Peter Sarsgaard...phenomenal on season 3 of The Killing.
New crush, Peter Sarsgaard...only cause he reminds me of late, Brad Renfro...hmm, that kinda messed.
Anyone else think that Matt Flynn looks like the actor Peter Sarsgaard?
'The Killing' Season 3 beats 1 & 2 . One dark, gritty and *** emotional series that was. Peter Sarsgaard is just an incredible hard *** There is another void to fill. Next is Downton A.
Binge watched the second season of THE KILLING. The story justified the two season approach, even if the producers miscalculated by not telling the audience it wouldn't be wrapped up at the end of the first season. I'll have to watch the whole thing sometime to see if it rates a spot in my personal view of the best shows, but it definitely had some of the best characters and performances. That Michelle Forbes is one of the best American actresses working. Looking forward to season 3, especially since Peter Sarsgaard is one of my favorite actors.
Just saw ''Blue Jasmine'' and can report that it is one of Woody Allen's better films. If Cate Blanchett isn't nominated at the Oscars, it will be a great case for dismantling the Awards system and there were excellent supporting turns from Sally Hawkins, Alec Baldwin, Bobby Cannavale, Peter Sarsgaard, Louis C.K. and Andrew Dice Clay (No, that wasn't a typo and I now feel spiritually dirty). Woody Allen may inevitably strike out more than he hits but ''Blue Jasmine'' shows that his best days are certainly not behind him.
When the box of a movie entitled 'Robot & Frank' doesn't mention the typical Asimov rules, that probably should have been a warning sign. But with talent like Frank Langella, Liv Tyler, Susan Sarandon and Peter Sarsgaard, I was enticed. Big mistake, this truly is tge worst movie I've seen in years.
Peter Sarsgaard could have me back by 11:30 any day
Finally saw Hillary Swanks' earliest and best role in "The Next Karate Kid" Lol. But really, I finally saw "Boys Don't Cry", what a great film with top notch acting from Swank, Chloë Sevigny and Peter Sarsgaard. Probably won't ever watch it again because it's such a bleak and sad story though.
this darker-than-usual S3 & Seward are giving mom some serious goosebumps!! Brilliantly done Peter Sarsgaard!
Is it just me or anyone else too gets confused between Colin Firth & Peter sarsgaard :/
And *** if it didn't dwell on me Peter Sarsgaard? Yeah, same guy on Shattered Glass. That guy is an amazing actor.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeremy Irons, Hugh Laurie, John Malkovich, Gabriel Byrne, Peter Sarsgaard, ahhh I just love them all
I had a crush on Peter sarsgaard in Jarhead
In the last couple if weeks seen some strong acting performances by two actors. Sandra Bullock in Gravity and Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine. Recommend seeing Gravity in 3D and for those who haven't heard much of Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine, it was quite a surprise since its not one of his typical films. Good casting of actors such as Alec Baldwin, Sally Hawkins, Louis C.K., Andrew Dice Clay and Peter Sarsgaard. Wouldn't be surprise if there's a Oscar nomination for either one of the ladies.
Riddick (Mini-Review) Director: David Twohy Cast: Vin Diesel … Richard B. Riddick Jordi Molla … Santana Matt Nable … Boss Johns Katee Sackhoff … Dahl Dave Bautista … Diaz and a cameo by Karl Urban … Vaako **1/2 out of * This is the third theatrically-released “Riddick” film and the sixth in the series if you count the animated feature “Dark Fury” and the two video game titles. This self-titled entry is the best in the series, but that’s not saying much. As a run-of-the-mill copycat of “Rambo”, this movie has laughably terrible dialogue which we can thank writer-director Twohy and Vin Diesel co-star Jordi Molla, as a psychotic bounty hunter tracking Riddick. Like “Pitch Black”, the series’ first entry, Riddick has to contend not only with other humans, but otherworldly aliens as well. Thankfully, these creepy crawlers are not the centerpiece of “Riddick”. Instead, the majority of the film deals with Riddick outsmarting his human counterparts. Unfortunately, the f ...

Peter Sarsgaard is all over TV tonight. Awesome. Him being in Green Lantern is unfortunate...nothing can make that movie watchable.
“Prisoners” When the official studio write up of a movie lists each Oscar-nominated participant in the film, you can bet said film is vying for awards. “Prisoners,” which stars Hugh Jackman as the father of a kidnapped girl and comes out in theaters on Sept. 26, is one of those movies. Oscar-nominated director Denis Villeneuve is behind the drama.   “Blue JasmineWoody Allen, ’nuff said. Just in case it’s not, here are a few more names for you to chew on: Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Peter Sarsgaard, and, least expectedly, Louis C.K. The film, which follows the fall from grace of the socialite wife of a white-collar criminal, hits Russian theaters on Sept. 26. For a full review, see page 20.   “Gravity” When the trailer for this ponderous Alfonso Cuaron sci-fi film first came out, reactions were mixed. Despite its pretensions, and apparently there are many, the film wowed festival audiences. Academy darlings Sandra Bullock and George Clooney star as a scientist and astronaut fallin ...
It's Weekend Watch time! What are you going to be seeing this weekend? Well, there are quite a few new releases worthy of your consideration. Starting with... Scratch that: it's Austen time, and no, it's not another period drama. Jane Hayes (Keri Russell) is obsessed with Pride and Prejudice, to the point that her want of a man like Mr Darcy (The Colin Firth type) is ruining her love life. Intent on finding the perfect gentleman, she travels to an English resort which caters to women in love with everything Austen. Written and directed by Jerusha Hess, th ...

To all the Father's out there, try to watch the movie Robot and Frank, starring Frank Langella, James Marsden, Liv Tyler & Peter Sarsgaard (robot voice) Storyline In the near future, Frank is a retired catburglar living alone while his successful son, Hunter, tries to care for him from afar. Finally, Hunter gets him a robot caretaker, but Frank soon learns that it is as useful as a burglary aide. As Frank tries to restart his old profession, the uncomfortable realities of a changing world and his worsening dementia threaten to take beyond what any reboot can do for him.
You know you watch too many movies when you find yourself watching Robot & Frank and figure out that the voice of the robot is Peter Sarsgaard. Who is Peter Sarsgaard you ask? Good question. I confirmed it on iMDB but really, should I be able to figure that out? Ahhh movies... by the way, so far, it's delightfully unique and entertaining. With Frank Langella, Liv Tyler, James Marsden, Susan Sarandon and of course, Peter Sarsgaard. Frank is a divorced, former felon and farther of two living in the near future, on his own and slowly losing his memory. His son brings him a new, state of the art, robot to help get him back onto his feet and hopefully help regain some of his lost cognitive function. In the process, Frank begins an unlikely bond with his new friend and caretaker and while they're relationship grows, old habits of the past are brought back in the form of a human/robot burglary team.
I just realized Stephen Dorff and Peter Sarsgaard aren't the same person.

'Blue Jasmine' Trailer: Cate Blanchett Has a Nervous Breakdown for Woody Allen Go West, Woody Allen! The legendary director traveled through Europe for his last two movies, "Midnight in Paris" and "To Rome With Love." Now, he's heading back to America's West Coast for his newest film, "Blue Jasmine." The first trailer lays out the basic story: Cate Blanchett is a spoiled socialite whose world comes crashing down when her rich husband (Alec Baldwin) turns out to be a crook. "I'm dead broke. The government took everything," a tipsy and teary Blanchett moans. She flies to San Francisco to stay with her sister (Sally Hawkins), but doesn't quite fit in with her blue-collar life or friends (Bobby Cannavale and -- wow! -- Andrew Dice Clay). Louis C.K., Peter Sarsgaard, and Michael Stuhlberg also star. "Anxieties nightmares, and a nervous breakdown," Blanchett says. "There's only so many traumas a person can withstand before they take to the streets and start screaming!" Emotional crisis, mid-life existential que ...
When I watch these round-table discussions, I always feel that the discussions would be so much more interesting if the participants were plied with a few more glasses of wine. The age-old question “Is Acting Art?” is only superficially addressed in the 3 ½ minutes allocated to it in the following Backstage Actors’ Roundtable, featuring Nicolas Cage, Colin Firth, Morgan Freeman, Stanley Tucci, and Peter Sarsgaard - but is nonetheless an important one. When we are acting, are we creating or participating in an artform? Or is the audience’s experience or interaction with the actor's interpretation of a certain character the artform? Or are we simply instruments of expression – empty vehicles or vessels, as implied by Morgan Freeman – through which an author, a screenwriter, or a director unleashes his or her vision of the world? Title: Is Acting Art? Category: Food For Thought Tags: Actor, Acting, Art, Artform, Is Acting Art, Nicolas Cage, Colin Firth, Morgan Freeman, Stanley Tucci, Pete ...

Oddly...I love that movie. Or maybe I'm just a Peter Sarsgaard Alfred Molina fan...
Robot And Frank is a lovely, charming film. Great performance from Frank Langella and the bonus of Peter Sarsgaard on voice duty.
A double bill of movies for a rainy Saturday afternoon/evening. Side Effects may be Steven Soderbergh's swan song, which would be a shame because he's never less than watchable, even if this medical conspiracy drama isn't quite up there with his best. It's sly and slick and what appears to be an anti prescription drug message, ultimately turns out to be something quite different. There are strong performances throughout, (particularly from Jude Law) but the film tends to oversimplify its complex themes and the conclusion feels a little pat. 3.8 stars. Robot & Frank is a charming confection, that though less ambitious than Side Effects, hits it's chosen targets a good deal more convincingly. Frank Langella convinces in the lead role as a former jewel thief, now drifting into dementia, while Peter Sarsgaard voices the robot and makes him as appealing a character as his human co-stars. There's a plot twist I didn't see coming and a bitter-sweet conclusion. 4.1 stars.
Woody Allen’s next movie, 'Blue Jasmine,' about “the final stages of an acute crisis and a life of a fashionable New York housewife," stars Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Louis C.K. and Peter Sarsgaard. Check out the first image from the film here!

MOVIE TRIVIA! What was the title of the 2002 movie about a Soviet submarine, a film directed by Kathryn Bigelow and starring Harrison Ford, Liam Neeson, and Peter Sarsgaard?
Wow - I left True Blood in the middle of Season 3. Picking up at the top of Season 5 sure gives a whole lot of new developments. (I'm skipping because, while I couldn't care less about this show at this point, I just want to see Christopher Meloni. ♥)
I got my first IMDB movie cast credit today with Dakota Fanning, Jesse Eisenberg & Peter Sarsgaard! Yay:-D...
Not sure if he qualifies, but do you think you do an In Character post on Peter Sarsgaard?
Nathan Lane does NOT say "hello". I pulled up short to avoid walking into him on Broadway near Lincoln Center. I looked up, recognized him and just said hello. He just looked at me then continued on and then flagged a cab.
Peter Sarsgaard voice acting in the movie Robot and Frank is pretty awesome.

My late night viewing last night was the wonderful film “Robot & Frank” with the great Frank Langella playing a 70 year old ex-con who is in the early stages of dementia. Don’t let this film cause you a downer because it is not. It takes place in the near future where robots have become helpers. This is a hard, funny and realistic movie about the future when libraries will no longer have books. Realistic videos will take their place. This robot voiced by Peter Sarsgaard cooks, clearns and even gives enemas on request and anyone who like Siri on the iPhone would love to have one of these. Langella carries most of the humor in this film with his droll witticisms. The plot is imaginative with a lot of twists and turns and moments of suspense. It’s a nice little flick.
Utterly charming, a great movie for a change!"Frank & the Robot" Frank Langella,Susan Sarandon,Peter Sarsgaard,James Marsden,Liv Tyler
I think about Kierkegaard... whether he should be played by Peter Sarsgaard. Because that would be an A+ show.
An Education (2008) -- How does Peter Sarsgaard play a character so charming and despicable at the same time?

Have you ever read The Mysteries of Pittsburgh? It's one of my favorite coming of age novels, especially when it comes to friendships and making new bonds among tight circles. It's also a lovely tale of self-exploration and that time in our lives where identity is a deal. One of my favorite quotes comes from the protagonist, Art Bechstein. When he was finally coming to terms with how long and how well his new friends have known each other before he had joined this circle. "No matter how long I know you guys, I'll never be able to catch up." I think it's a rather juvenile view. True, there is that weight of time, but in relation to me as an individual, there is another point where w new infinity can emerge from with friends. Friendship isn't a race that compares how long we've known people. I admit, it's tough to crack particularly tight circles. But we can always make our own if there really isn't enough room for one more person. Oddly though, most circles can accomodate another individual. Even on tangen ...
