Will there be a group of bands to have the impact/importance of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains?
Lil salty about that. Alice In Chains better get in soon along with Pearl Jam. And how hasn't Soundgarden made it in yet?? Wtff?!
yeah men. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden. I pretty much only like 90s rock and roll anyway lol
*Paul is singing a Stone Temple Pilots song*. "What's the difference between Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains?"
Taking Jarl on a musical tour of my youth. So far we have covered Alice In Chains, Verve, REM, The Cranberries and U2. I'm saving Pearl Jam and Sound Garden for the end... Who am I forgetting?
Since I seem to be the only person NOT able to go to the big M3 show today, and instead have to spend my day raking, hauling dirt and planting new grass seed on my front lawn, I- out of spite- am going to listen to nothing but Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana & Alice In Chains whilst I work.
Anyone else feel old when you hear Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains on the classic rock station? Not that I'm complaining or anything.
24 years ago, a 13 year old me declared Alice In Chains his favorite band ever after watching Headbangers Ball at 1am on a Saturday night and seeing the video for 'Man In The Box' for the first time. I remember snapping out of a half awake state to pay attention to the video and feeling that I was witnessing history take place. It was unlike anything I'd ever seen or heard. I convinced my dad to take me to Tower Records and buy me the cd the next day. I must have played it 100 times that first week. Later that year I was turned on to Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Nevermind and Ten were incredible, life changing albums, but today those early records are hard for me to listen to. Maybe because those songs have had too much radio play, but regardless, they've lost a lot of the nostalgia for me. That early Alice In Chains stuff however still holds up in my opinion. Jar of Flies! Mad Season! My Junior year of high school I snuck into the 10th grade yearbook photo shoot and had my photo taken as 'Layne Staley.' At the ...
If only I'd been alive to see Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and every other grunge band play at Warped, sigh
In case you're wondering the set may* include tunes by the following bands: Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Radiohead, Black Sabbath, QOTSA, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Alice In Chains, etc. *No guarantees and the band's decision is final ;)
I like Seether, I like Alter Bridge, I like Alice In Chains, I like Pearl Jam,I like Soundgarden. I DO NOT LIKE JUST METULZ
Help restore the Legendary Neve console at London Bridge Studio, used on Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Mother Love Bone,Temple of the Dog, Alice In Chains & more!
Here is the review in englishThis is the story of an English group based in London active in the mid-90’s who I discovered the existence of today with the release a few months ago of their first LP "Only Dreaming". Brief history: the group was founded in 1991 from the London scene and decided to record a few songs in the studio in 1992 ; shortly after a new recording session in 1993 the quartet split . Twenty years later this first remastered album sees the light of day consisting of 11 new songs . How can we describe the music of the quartet? Well it’s excellent Heavy Rock whose compositions comprise of influences as diverse as the grunge groups of the time such as Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam or Soundgarden, and their glorious seniors Led Zeppelin and The Doors mainly . After listening several times to this opus it is confirmed that it contains beautiful gold nuggets such as "My Last Day" built on a base of riffs that alternate between sweetness and power taken away by the beautiful singing of David L ...
Jennison Holt gave me the so here we go. 1. As most of you know, i LOVE Heavy Metal. 2. My favorite color is black. 3. I absolutely hate musicals. 4. My favorite non-metal bands are Five Finger Death Punch, Alice In Chains, Nirvana and Pearl Jam. 5. Daniel Tosh is my favorite comedian. 6. My favorite metal bands are Thy Art Is Murder, Lamb Of God, The Black Dahlia Murder and Whitechapel. 7. And last but not least, i have a weakness for girls with long red or orange hair, freckles, tattoos and a love for metal.
Quick fact: Big 10's favorite band is Queensryche. from Seattle. So we have College Gameday on in the studio. Since they are in Seattle, they are showing Seattle bands: Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Death Cab For Cutie. Big 10 starts getting angry. Sir Mix A Lot, Macklemore. Never any Queensryche. We feared Big 10 was about to lose it
I'm meh to both. Each have a few good songs. Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam are all better.
Do you like any Alice In Chains or Pearl Jam? — I'm not too familiar with either.
Ditto. But they couldn’t pry my Pearl Jam & Soundgarden & Alice In Chains & plaid shirts from my cold, dead hands!
Thanks for keeping me awake this am Black Crowes Remedy, Pearl Jam rearviewmirror, & now Alice in Chains Would?
Chris Cornell recorded an album to him, Alice In Chains wrote "would?" about him, and Pearl Jam has a hidden track about him.
Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains members to perform w/ Heart at Rock Hall - NOW at hennemusic
Last month I saw Soundgarden, in 2 months going to see Primus. Just need Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains to start touring and the flannels will come back out!
Just got done pricing the Jukebox Only 45's...some really cool stuff! Besides Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Velvet Revolver, R.E.M. (8 different titles), and Aerosmith, there is Motley Crue, Queen, Bowie, Cinderella, Queensryche, Soundgarden, Black Crowes, B B King & Eric Clapton, Elvis, Alice In Chains, Ozzy, The Jacksons, and more! Over 30 in all! Several of them are on colored vinyl for an extra bonus. Also some rare promo Macy Gray, Queen, Fleetwood Mac (pre Lindsay & Stevie), Dave Edmunds(clear vinyl), and original oldies by Them(w/ Van Morrison), Cream, Black Oak Arkansas, James Brown, Chuck Berry, Gregg Allman, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more! I'll try to fit them in the bin by the entrance and what won't fit will go in the second 45 bin on the inside near $2 LP's. I will also be bring out at least 50 or more new LP's to put in New Arrivals bin.
I have a theory. Gun's and Roses may have been the first commercially successful "Grunge" band before the movement hit in the late 80's, early 90's. They may have produced the first album that people didn't know what exactly they were looking for in a band, so the band found them. far before Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, the Pixies, Alice In Chains, the Vaselines..etc. Please give "Appetite For Destruction" a listen - pretend it is one of those' band's next album's (maybe your favorite singer, Chris Connel, Kurt, Eddie, Black Francis, - replace the vocals with whomever you like.) Just my feeling..."Appetite For Destruction" is Americana in nature, with the rusty edge of genuine, hapless, honest grunge in and out. I feel this band fits in to the No Depression thing just as much as Son volt, Uncle Tupelo, Hank Williams, Billy Bragg, etc. Axl Rose is a true Americana lyricist who knew exaclty what he was writing about. Great stuff!!!
Judas Priest hints at new music. Fleetwood Mac are said to be reuniting. Albums by Backstreet Boys, Alice In Chains, Cher, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The MacHine, The Black Keys, Eminem, AC/DC, Beyonce, Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne, Katy Perry and Mariah Carey are all said to be coming very soon or soon enough. This is the music business, folks! Everything is subject to change! With that in mind, I've searched high and mostly low for the albums that have tentative names and nearly firm release dates! The first quarter of 2013 looks to be a great time for people who enjoy illegally downloading albums! Though, I should point out, it would be much better for the continuance of the music industry and your favorite artists' careers if you actually shelled out some cash for their records! After all, they didn't illegally download their instruments! Note: albums are listed by release date. 25) Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals and Warbeast -- War of the Gargantuas (split album), 1/8: This is a split album from e ...
How can you only like Nirvana? Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden are just as good.
All new episode of Flannel starting at 9PM tonight! O-Dogg's got music on deck from Soundgarden, No Doubt, Alice In Chains, Foo Fighters, Dance Hall Crashers, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Korn, Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam and more! Tune in on your radio or kpoifm.com!
Tonight's show is a personal favorite, centered around one of the greatest eras of my generation, the grunge movement. Glam rock went too far and gained too much exposure, and the gritty armies of tri-tone chords and amplifier feedback came to reclaim the soul of rock and roll in the 90s. Tune in for a few underdogs and the big five (Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam... and the "sixth grunge band" I deem as mislabeled... all in a half hour at DMR.FM!
she prefers her grunge stuff ya know Pearl Jam,Alice In Chains and Soundgarden. :)

I suppose one of the major upsides to X-Fest being canceled is people might stop listening to the station and actually you know find out what bands can do when they aren't spending all their free time trying to be Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Alice In Chains, or what have you tribute bands.
It's not an easy task choosing the 10 best Alice in Chains songs, especially with their stellar history, but we're giving it a shot. Pearl Jam and Nirvana may have gotten a little more glory in the early '90s but it's hard to pick a band that was more influential on hard rock music for the next two ...
As birthdays come and go, it's hard not to think about all the decades a person has lived through and the music...the 60's with the British Invasion, the Summer of Love and Motown; the 70's with Heavy Metal, Disco and Electric Rock (Emerson Lake & Palmer, Asia etc.) and the beginning of PUNK and RAP, (all hail The Ramones and Grand Master Flash for starting it!); the 80's with Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Boy George, RAP Music, the Romantic and New Wave (Spandu Ballet, Tears for Fears, Madness, ABC etc) and lets not forget the HAIR BANDS (Poision, Warrent, Bon Jovi?); 90's brought Grunge, Thank God for Pearl Jam!, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Better Than Ezra, Everclear etc. and now in the 21st Century I find myself digging really hard for music that will one day be as classic as the music from all the past decades...*sign*

Sometimes you get the Northwest pride working and play Hendrix, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Modest Mouse all day long
