The NHL started their Eastern and Western Conference Finals yesterday. Boston looked poised and took a 1-0 series lead with a 3-0 blank of the Pittsburgh Penguins. David Krejci had two goals and Tuukka Rask had 29 saves in the shutout. In the West Chicago took the series lead against the defending champion L.A. Kings with a 2-1 victory. Marian Hossa and Patrick Sharp both had one goal apiece, and goalie Corey Crawford allowed the champs just one goal and stopped 21 shots in the win. Game two will bill be played tonight at 8:00 P.M. Eastern time.

Patrick Sharp scored first for the Hawks but less than 30 seconds into the 3rd period, Henrik Zetterberg tied it for the Red Wings. With a minute left in regulation, Nikolas Hjalmarsson had a goal that was disallowed & it went overtime. In overtime, Brent Seabrook scored the game winner as the Hawks beat the Red Wings 2-1 in game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals.
