Played football this afternoon and now I feel like the oldest man. Not Richard Attenborough-old, though, but Pat Morita-old. When he was alive, obviously, though that might change later.
THOUGHTS I HAD WHILE PEELING POTATOES: When my sons were small, we used things we saw on TV to teach lessons. Now, I know TV is the evil giant, blah, blah, blah but we shared a lesson on honor and pride from the Karate Kid series of movies that I could not have taught if I had said "Now let's sit down and discuss the ancient custom of honor among 17th-18th century Samurai and how it influences the Asian culture to this day". Thanks, Ralph MacChio and Pat Morita. Granted the TV today is not the time of innocence we find in *** Van *** Bonanza, Mayberry type shows but there are still points to be discussed, lessons to be learned. Who has not wanted to Gibbs-slap someone, (probably someone like Sheldon Cooper), work side-by-side with an undercover boss and get some good stuff for it because of your excellence as an employee or travel with Gordon Ramsey to a diner and tell those people you had a TERRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCE WITH THEM? My point? Yes, there is one. TV may seem like it is pulling us down ...

It was directed by James Goldstone. Happy Birthday to: Melvin James Kaminsky, but most people know him as Mel Brooks, the sheer comedic genius behind so many television programs and motion pictures. Here are just a few titles: "Your Show Of Shows", "Get Smart", "Blazing Saddles", "The Producers", "History Of The World Part One", "Young Frankenstein", and so many more. One of my favorites is the ever-changing, always hilarious colloboration with fellow genius Carl Reiner as "The 2,000-Year Old Man". Gilda Susan Radner, who left us way too soon, but whose legacy will live on in features like "Haunted Honeymoon" (with then-husband Gene Wilder) and "The Woman In Red", and especially the plethora of fabulous characters on "Saturday Night Live" (with previous husband, house band guitarist G.E. Smith). Thank you for all the laughs, Gilda, you were awesome! Noriyuki Morita, who provided hundreds of characters and voices in just about every television program and motion picture over four decades. Always a class act, Pat Morita was also a talented st ...

You need to tell Stan or Mel(maintenence employees) to fix or water heater tmrw. I can cause more heat than Pat Morita fixing Daniel before he faces the Cobra Kai The text message to my morning supervisor.
This "Karate Kid" with Will Smith's kid is crap... And Jackie Chan, though great, is no Pat Morita. Long live Daniel-san and Mr. Miyagi!
All of the fight scenes in the original Karate Kid were real, taken directly from Pat Morita's home video collection.
Older than Pat Morita was during the first Karate Kid film.

Now that Ralph MacChio is Pat Morita's age in the first Karate Kid, it would be great to see a movie about Daniel Larusso teaching an Asian Kid Martial Arts using the skills he learned from Mr. Miyagi. Even if it was only direct to DVD I'd pick it up. With Bill & Ted 3, Ghost Busters 3 and a new Goonies constantly being rumored, why not?

Has our generation become way too suspicious about the intentions of adults toward children in movies? Watching a horror movie called Burnt Offerings where an elderly Burgess Meredith is watching a young lad out a window. First thought above all others was 'don't go near him kid...probably a peadophile'. I just know I'll feel guilty about my accusation later when he saves the family. If I were watching The Shining or Karate Kid for the first time nowadays, I'd probably point the same finger at Scatman Crothers and Pat Morita...
Can't sleep, so I'm up watching my favorite WWII war movie. I know for most guys my age, it's Saving Private Ryan, and I even know a few fellas that put Enemy at the Gates at the top of their list (that one is actually second on my list). No, for me it's the 1976 classic Midway, staring Henry Fonda and Charlton Heston. Not only was it a pretty accurate tactical recounting of one of the War's most pivotal battles at sea, but had a cast with as many powerful stars of the time as Private Ryan. Along with Heston and Fonda, we had Hal Holbrook, James Coburn, Robert Mitchum, Cliff Robertson, Pat Morita, Robert Wagner, Toshiro Mifune, Robert Ito, and Dabney Coleman just to name a few.
I hope the Senators ask Leon Panetta why he sold Al's Diner to Pat Morita.

"Cultures clash when Detroit cop Jay Leno teams up with Japanese detective Pat Morita to find a killer in this fast-paced crime drama."
the next Karate Kid. RIP Pat Morita
Just saw that one of the worst movies of all-time is currently on: The Next Karate Kid. Thanks Hilary Swank for that gem. Poor Pat Morita
We're gonna run this campaign like the '89 buddy cop comedy, Collision Course. Starring Chris as Jay Leno and Newt as Pat Morita
Pat Morita, Actor: The Karate Kid. Abundantly busy and much loved Asian-American actor who became an on-screen hero to millions of adults and kids alike as the wise and wonderful Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid, the sparkling Noriyuki Morita was back again dishing out Eastern philosophy and martial art...
Id like all who took the time to wish me a Happy Birthday to give a moment of silence to pat morita better known as mr.miyagi the master to daniel-san on the Karate Kid he taught us all to be better people and whoop *** if necassary
Noriyuki "Pat" Morita (June 28, 1932 – November 24, 2005) was an Americanactor of Japanese descent who was well known for playing the roles of Matsuo "Arnold" Takahashi on Happy Days and Mr. Miyagi in the The Karate Kid movie series, for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Suppo...
Pat Morita (Mr. Miyagi) passed away 7 years ago today..thought about him while we were watching the new Karate Kid..
So... found another gem on Netflix. It's called "Shadow Fury". It's about a Cyborg Ninja that is going through trying to kill these doctors, so they hire a mercenary to fight it. Basically it's a mix between a Kung Fu movie, and an 80's action movie. It's horrendously B-rate. But I believe the best part is that Pat Morita is the Evil scientist that made the ninja cyborg, and the bad guy pretending to be a good guy, made a clone that was played by Taylor Lautner in his first ever role. This movie is so bad. in so many ways... that it is awesome.
I just Wikipedia Pat Morita and learned that the teacher of the Karate Kid "Daniel Son" never actually knew karate!!! My life is over.
Pat Morita will always be Mr. Miyagi n the Karate Kid
Here's to Pat Morita on this fine Thanksgiving!
I didn't even see 'The Karate Kid' remake cuz there was no way to recapture what Pat Morita and Ralph MacChio did.
...and that was when, I renamed Pat Morita, Pete Pagoda.
Drinking coffee and watching Karate Kid! When bullied teen Daniel Larusso teams up with a martial arts master, he ends up learning much more than just self-defense in the classic underdog tale. Pat Morita makes me giggle!
4) Sidestepping the obvious Burt Reynolds/Tom Selleck answer and going for Pat Morita. That tiny little beard IS Mr Miyagi.
what 1 movie did Dr. Joyce Brothers, Ray Charles, Roger Clinton, Robert Culp, Fabio, Robert Guillaume, Hulk Hogan, Pat Morita, Alexndra Paul, Mr. T, Alex Trebek and Taylor Negron all make an apearance in.
I don't know if I really want to live in a world where Pat Butcher has more credibility than Pat Morita
Directed by Bobby Gene Leonard. With David Bradley, Lee Reyes, Anne Dupont, Pat Morita. When a scientists daughter is kidnapped, American Ninja (David Bradley), attempts to find her, but this time he teams up with a youngster he has trained in the ways of the ninja.
Directed by Christopher Cain. With Pat Morita, Hilary Swank, Michael Ironside, Constance Towers. Mr. Miyagi is back and he takes a new pupil under his wing a troubled teenage girl
Just watched the most star studded MASH episode ever Pat Morita and John Ritter were on there.
Watching "The Karate Kid Part 2" (1986); Ralph MacChio and Noriyuki "Pat" Morita. I liked Pat Morita in the "Karate Kid" movies, but I've seen him on reruns of "Happy Days" and thought he was hilarious on that show too! :) LOL
From The Karate Kid -Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) and student Daniel Larusso (Ralph MacChio). Daniel Larusso- What kind of belt do you have? MR. MIYAGI- Canvas, You like? J.C. Penny $3.98. Daniel Larusso- No, I don't mean a belt like that. I meant… MR. MIYAGI- In Okinawa belt mean, no need rope to hold up pants. Daniel'son. Karate here (points to his head), Karate here (Points to his heart), Karate never here (points to his belt).
I would have never thought Pat Morita would let Ralph MacChio turn out like this.
watched the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid with Li'l Romeo and Jackie Chan tonight. While he *is* a big Jackie Chan fan, he still prefers the 1984 original with Pat Morita, Ali Mills, and Ralph MacChio.
Happy Days' Erin Moran is homeless. Look at the bright side. She could’ve wound up like Pat Morita; stuck doing 3 films with Ralph MacChio.
Not only did Will Smith remake The Karate Kid for his 10 year old, he also made Pat Morita die in real life.
Pat Morita! He didn't use an accent in his standup.
Also of note: Pat Morita has a role in this movie! You need to check it out.
Ahh! Pat Morita was also on the 50s episode of "Boy Meets World!" Pat is "Arnold" from "Happy Days" & "Mr. Miyagi" from "The Karate Kid."
Never realized pat morita was in boy meets world. Lol
a downwards Pat Morita surely? Ah the original Karate Kid. Not like that cruel cruel summer remake of late
I'd hang out with Pat Morita on the set of Karate Kid because he was so amazing.
Dreamt I sobbed at Pat Morita's (Mr. Miyagi's) birthday party.Only his name was Francis Ryan, which is just my brother's name backwards.
Did I imagine this or did Pat Morita actually sing the national anthem at the 2000 Republican National Convention?
Nice to see PAT MORITA and HENRY WINKLER together again (LOL) !
Got excited to watch 'The Karate Kid' starring Ralph MacChio & Pat Morita on FX, but sadly it was the other one. :/
