For all my friends and family who read my last status, and are wondering, who is Tamara Burns. Tamara is a young lady who graduated from Elm Creek High school. She played sports with our daughter, Jess. She was one heck of an athlete. She went to Virginia Tech, and obtained a position as a track coach for Oregon State. She is a beautiful person, and an awesome athlete. Just in case you didn't know who she was.
Previewing Thursday's college football TV games: Virginia Tech-Pittsburgh and Utah-Oregon State are on deck. ...
I bought my draft preview magazine over the weekend, and here are their Eagles picks (Note: Keep in mind they have Ha Ha Clinton Dix going in Round 2 in their mock draft): 1 - Calvin Pryor - S - Louisville (A nice pick if he drops to 22) 2 - Brandon Cooks - WR - Oregon State (If he drops this low, and the Birds grab him, I'm playing the lottery) 3 - Ka'Deem Cary - RB - Arizona (Sounds like a good verstaile player, just the kind Kelly likes, but I'm not sure how much playing time he'd see here) 4 - Trent Murphy - OLB - Stanford (I know Kelly came from the PAC-12, but really?) 5 - Andrew Jackson - ILB - Western Kentucky (Sounds like a run-stuffer only) 7 - Ricardo Allen - CB - Purdue (I'm all for secondary depth, but do we need another slot corner?) Just for comparison, here's a draft from CSN - Geoff Mosher: 1 - Kyle Fuller - CB - Virginia Tech (WE certainly need depth here, and if Fletcher can't stay healthy or Williams can't keep his yap shut, Fuller will look like a wise choice) 2 - Kyle Van Noy OLB - . ...

Carl's college round up. Pretty amazing couple of days in college ball. TCU over Texas - sort of a surprise to me, as Texas had been playing very well. Kent State over Ohio. The showdown with NIU looms. Nebraska over Iowa. How proud can any Big Ten team be these days? West Virginia over Iowa State - to become bowl eligible. You really want a bowl? Ohio State had it's annual bye week. It'd be nice if Michigan could win some of these allegedly 'rivalry' games. Purdue becomes bowl eligible with a win over Indiana. Rutgers is crushed by Pitt. They may well play in a BCS bowl. That's how lousy the Big East is and how effed up the BCS rules are. Virginia Tech is bowl eligible with a win over Virginia. Does Beamer accept a bowl bid? Baylor makes bowl eligibility with a win over Texas Tech. No argument about these guys making a bowl. Tough schedule and some quality wins. N. Carolina over the Terps. Nice season for the TarHeels. The Big 10 really wants the Terps? Oregon over Oregon State. Lots of hype for a lousy ...
